Excellent. I've had many things including the ribeye which was amazing. Meat was cooked perfectly and too many delicious sides to choose from. Small and quaint. Drinks were made well and the service from the bar and at our table was nothing but aiding the great feast.

We went to visit family in markesville, and hit up the casino for my wife's birthday around mid-march. They took us here. I'm from Dallas, tx where there are numerous restaurants, but this place is probably the most excellent place I've ever dined. You almost wouldn't even notice it's there. The outside of the building looks like a warehouse, and it's in the back. When you go in the experience begins. It's owned by a chef who's name I don't remember, but the decor was wonderful, had a small yet nice bar, very few tables, but the food was some of the most amazing food I've ever had. Very fancy, and a good wine selection.

My husband took me to Brown Bag for my birthday. The food was fabulous. I had grilled shrimp served over grilled eggplant and grits. My husband had the ribeye. The service was very attentive and the owner came to our table to inquire about our dining experience. Can't wait to return on my next visit to Marksville !!!

I have been working in Marksville for 3 months and I just found out about this place! I actually found it here on Yelp one day when I decided I was tired of the string of fast food chains that line Tunica Dr. The location is a bit out of the way, but the environment was surprisingly cozy and comfortable. They were pretty busy when I arrived, but they were very fast and I didn't have to wait very long at all. I ordered the Southwest Chicken salad. It was pretty good. Next time I will order either the blackened chicken salad or the chicken salad sandwich. This is definitely a place that I will return to and recommend.

5/ 10/2013 Specialty burgers and sandwiches they do close early 2 pm. I had the Brown Bag Burger which comes with 1/3lb locally raised Beef grilled and dressed with. Portabella Mushroom,Avocado,Goat Cheese, and a Honey Mustard Spread. It was overdressed for me. It had way to much avocado, honey mustard and goat cheese. After some doctoring of this sandwich, which made it a lot better. I'd try this place again I just need to ask them to not over do it on the toppings.

Great garden salad, nice shrimp, crab & avocado salad. The monte cristo is a very pleasant and surprising delight. Crab cakes and remoulade were divine. Sesame crusted Tuna was perfect. Corn grits better than Zea's. Spicy Tuna and avocado stack is beautifully presented and even better than the sesame crusted Tina. Superior!

Love this place. Excellent carefully crafted menu that always pleases. Their seafood is amongst my favorites for dinner. Shrimp and grits are a must have. At lunchtime their burgers are excellent as well as the spinach salad. Save room for dessert. All are divine here.

Don't judge a book by it's cover. The restaurant is in a strip mall and looks very unassuming. But the food is great. It won't disappoint. I have only been once, but we enjoyed the food very much. Seafood Beignets where great. Loved my bacon and bleu cheese burger. Would definitely recommend and will probably go back next time I am in Marksville.

Definitely worth the trouble to find this little gem of a bistro-type restaurant when you find yourself in or near Marksville. The chef/owner could run this restaurant in New Orleans or Baton Rouge and give other high end restaurants a run for their money! Food is excellently prepared with a deft hand, chef utilizes local produce and findings. Atmosphere is cozy and unassuming, with a definite Louisiana flair. Menu changes often! Open for lunch during the week, dinner Thur, Fri, Sat.
