We stopped here for lunch on our way to Mississippi. The are a handful of places to eat by the lakeshore in the area (surprising considering its only two block from the water). This is a casual place with your standard bar food and po boys. I had the shrimp po boy and was underwhelmed. The Zen Tang sauce they offer can be best described as a tangy barbecue sauce base with hot sauce added. In general it was ok, nothing special to write home about, and generally underwhelming if you're looking for a good po boy.

Well it started with real slow service. Then, she missed that I didn't want fries. The fish tacos were just ok. So, a two for you.

Very slow service, poor food quality. The house margarita tasted like it was mixTried ed in a dirty bucket. I went back to this place after a visit in summer 2013 because I liked it back then. Unfortunately it seems like all aspects have declined. Probably won't go back.

Family had lunch today for the first time and was thoroughly disapointed. First, our server seemed as if we were bothering her by sitting in her section, the entire staff seemed to have the same attitude. Second, my wife ordered pretty much a watered down bucket with some remnants of malibu and fruit. Lastly, who puts oscar myer esque deli meat on a cold panini and calls it a pork belly Cuban and charges $10 bucks for it? All in all never coming back.

Was in there yesterday for a Margarita we tried there before...in a bucket. It was good before, this time was watery and tasted like it was only mix, no teq. Moved to beer. Server was lost, not coming to the table so I went to the bar to order...she came to the bar saying she was just there.....ok, great, but after a while I got tired of waiting. I ordered Tuna App.....it was covered in Wasabi sauce. Other food came out that wasn't what we ordered and what we had was missing parts described in menu. Not good this time....the food was not good. Every one of the 5 things we ordered were either wrong, cold or missing stuff. Recommend you only drink here, but not the bucket drinks, only beer and some mixed drinks.

The location is fantastic, the game day drink specials are great! The cerviche was very good but seemed to be more veggies than seafood. The tacos were VERY salty and there was too much sauce. I may not have eaten them had I not been drunk by that point. When the bill came the prices were off, 1$-2$ per item. It came up to 7$. I know it's not a lot of money, but it's the point. The server was nice and she also fixed the problem quickly. I may go back for drinks, but probably not the food.

I'm giving this place a 5 star review due to loving it and due to the idiot who actually took off stars because there are MOSQUITOES outside...er...Yeah. Idiot. Great food, friendly people and yeah, mosquitoes. I'm guessing he's never been outside in Louisiana in the summer...er...and Fall...oh, and Spring and half of Winter. What a nut-sack.

Went to two restaurants today. Mainly for some drinks and to get some sun. Stopped by the beach house first. The crawfish were very good. The bucket of beer was reasonably priced. It would have been nice if the band played all day. We peddled to the Barley Oak. No live music. Very lame. After one drink we rode back to the Beach House. We had a much bette time.

The atmosphere and serves is the best I have had in a long time. Echo is an amazing waitress always making sure we have what we needed. The crawfish spring rolls and guacamole were really good. Johnny joined me and loved the chilled glass with every beer.

The drinks are good. The food on the other hand I could gone without. Got steak fajitas, the meat was tough over cooked and fatty. The soft taco shells where crunchy on the edges and not very fresh & the black beans where dry. For the 1/2 the price somewhere else I could got something better.

Lousiest Cuban Sandwich I've ever had. The quality of the ingredients are likely to blame. Could have used a few more minutes on the press to get crispy and melt the cheese. Weak. Sauce.

I love how cute this place is! & im not familiar with this area but from what I can tell this is prob the funniest and cute low key restaurant there is. We got to sit outside not sure if there's an inside I'm sure there is but there's a bar and sand box along with fans blowing which is great on a hot day when you're trying to also eat outside. I love the bucket drinks although I have to say they can improve it by less ice cause it gets water down too fast and doesn't taste like there much Alchy in there. The food is good still think they should have raw oysters that would just be fab!

I have tried to eat here twice and BOTH times, was pretty disappointed. The atmosphere is quite nice, with outside seating and live bands some nights, but the service is terribly slow. We actually just got up and left the second time around because it literally took our waitress 15 minutes to get us a sprite and a beer. The food is pretty good and this place has potential, it's just a shame the service isn't a little better. Hopefully I'm somehow swayed into going here again and my experience will be a better one. Til then, 2 stars.

Stopped in for a cool adult beverage and sat on the outdoor patio which was cooled down by the many fans they have placed. This great on a hot day. We ate some nachos which had the most distinct cheese taste I have ever hah. Fantastic. Great place to come and just hang out. The servers are friendly and very efficient. We will be back soon.

Good spot for lake breezes and patio dining. Aloha burger is unique with grilled pineapple, melted Swiss, and teriyaki sauce. Refreshing ceviche. Wash it all down with signature tropical drinks- I recommend the "Painkiller"- (it will:). Has large sandbox for kids complete with toys, shovels, and buckets. Alexis is a wonderful server.

You guys KNOW that I love the beach, right? I was already intrigued with this restaurant based on the name alone. When I met my friend Heather here for dinner I was not disappointed. It had recently been renovated to include a little beach next to the outdoor dining area. How cool is that? It even has some beach chairs and shovels and pails to dig in the sand. A large party was seated next to us with several children who promptly removed their shoes and ran to play in the sand. I loved that! I also love that you can bring your dog here. While I'm not a pet owner myself, I can appreciate the consideration of businesses being pet friendly since I know that pets are considered part of the family for most people. Outdoor dining was so nice and laid back. It gets pretty loud here due to the popularity of the place, but that was fine with us. It wasn't too loud that we couldn't carry on a conversation. I had the Jerk Shrimp Tacos and they were delicious. I had to stop myself from picking up my plate and licking all of the sauce of of it once I had inhaled the tacos. Parking is easy next door in an empty lot, so what are you waiting for? Go give The Beach House a try if you haven't yet! I can't wait to go back!

Not a bad place for good drinks and bar style food. The service was OK. If you're looking for a place to just sit back and relax this should be on your list to try.

It's so so, nothing to brag about, I have lived here since 2001 and this is my first visit. The atmosphere is alright, cannot see the lakefront from here. Definitely do not go if you are allergic to dogs, seems like a hot spot for animal lovers. I don't have anything against it, just not sure if I wanted any extra fur in my food. We sat outside in October. Burger not bad but I probably will try something else next time.

This place has a great atmosphere being close to the lake. Upon looking over the menu, I got a little excited about all the yummy sounding selections. We had a table of 5 and we ordered our drinks and 2 apps. Those came quickly and the chips and salsa and fried pickles were good. However, 45 minutes later we still had not received out entrees. Our waitress was no where to be found so we got the attention of the hostess. She quickly asked if we were ready for our check. When we told her we had not even been served, she went to the kitchen. In the next 5 minutes the food arrived. Very disappointing. The fish tacos were puny and dripping in juice from the salsa. The hamburger was just ok and then my son found a hair on his food. I'm giving this place 1 star jjust for the atmosphere and the fact that's it's probably more of a hanging with drinks kind of place. Won't be back for the food.

I love, love, love Lucy's!!!! (Yes, I still call it Lucy's. I had a dog named Lucy I took here many times.) I will never jump on the "beach house" bandwagon. Thank goodness the place seems changed in name only. Fantastic outdoor seating, reasonably priced eats/ drinks, music at times, friendly servers... What's not to love?!

If your a smoker or dont mind your lungs being polluted then THIS is the place for you. went there tonight and although we had our 18 month old with us - hostess sat a table full of smokers less that 3 feet away. The food here is passable for bar fare, but the prices are high for what they're serving you and it's hit or miss at best with the waitstaff - though friendly, half of them act as if there's a community bowl to be smoked in the kitchen. In all seriousness it's not bad if you don't care about being family friendly and are out for a good time. Just about the best thing this place has going for it is the lack of competition.

Came here after the Jane Austen Literary Fest yesterday morning. The fried pickles appetizer and the fries with my burger were outstanding. The bacon cheeseburger was quite good as well. Next time I go, I may have to take a crack at the "Man Overboard Burger".

I'm giving this place two stars because it has a really great atmosphere and it's great for kids. The problem is the service.. it's AWFUL! Our waitress was a joke. I don't know her name, she was a small blonde with fair skin. We went on a Sunday and they were supposed to be serving crawfish, but we're sold out. I ordered a bloody marry, they were out of that also. My husband ordered a burger med rare.. it came out extremely well done. I ordered sweet potato fries and she brought regular fries. We waited 30 minutes for a check after we were done eating. They need to get it together. I can see this being the perfect place to sit at the bar and enjoy the weather, that's it. I do know that the bartenders are good because of past experiences I have had there.

I ate here for dinner on Sunday, 9/12/10. We had a large party and the majority of the group wanted to sit inside. Outside dining had more of an atmosphere I would have enjoyed. Maybe next time. This is a really really laid back place. If you get offended rating in a place where diners are in beach attire, then you should find another place to eat . I really dig the atmosphere, which is what you pay for here. It's a little pricey for the quality/portions. We had three small children with us. Feed them anything and they're happy. I was the only adult who enjoyed the food. I had the bacon cheddar burger, medium well. It was cooked perfectly. Something I'm finding harder to get these days. Dressed with crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, onions and pickles. A generous portion of French fries came as a side. All was delivered to the table hot and fresh. So here's what everyone else ordered: Fried shrimp & spinach salad, steak quesadillas, jerk shrimp tacos, and a shrimp poboy. Comment about the salad: "If I wasn't so hungry, I would have ate what I did." Shrimp poboy: "Where's the shrimp?" Shrimp tacos: "I've had better". I suppose the best bet would be to stick with the burgers. I plan to return once the weather gets a little cooler and dine outside where I could enjoy the breeze off the lake. Maybe even take advantage of the drink specials. Price rating I gave ($11-$30) reflects the price range for an entree and drink for one person. I may give it more than three stars after another visit.

I couldn't really review the food, because none of us ever got any. We arrived at 7:00 pm. At about 7:25, someone finally showed up to take our drink order. At about 7:40, we were finally given menus, after we asked for them. At about 8:00, the server came back around, and we flagged her down and said we were ready to order. She said "Uh, you were going to order some food?" I said "No, we were just going to sit here and look at each other." So she hastily wrote our food order down, and disappeared. Over the next hour, we periodically asked about the status of our food order, to be told "it will be out shortly". I had to get up and go refill my own drink. At 9:00, we announced that if our food was not brought out in five minutes, we were leaving. So then our server came back and said that apparently, our food orders were lost. So we told her never mind, we would just pay for our drinks and go. At 9:10, nobody had come back to give us our check for the drinks, so we sought out the manager, who stated that there was no option to pay at the counter; We should go back to the table and someone would be right with us to bring us our checks. Instead, we started walking out. Whereupon, the manager asked us to please leave a tip for the server, for her non service over the previous two hours. Needless to say, I can't comment on the food, but I CAN comment on the service, or complete lack of.

5 stars for the ambiance- sitting outside with a breeze from the lake- can't beat it. 2 stars for the food. The fish tacos were terrible, the roast beef pannini sandwich not much better. Fries were fresh. Vegetable medley perfectly seasoned.

I came here twice while vacationing in Mandeville, LA. The fried pickles were delicious. So were the po' boys. At night in the summer, there is live music. I felt extremely relaxed and laid back..the breeze from the lake and the live music and the strong drinks..man I'm missing Louisiana right now just thinking about it. If i ever make it back to Mandeville, I will be back at the Beach House for sure.

Great place for watching sports games. Have visited here three times in all and been very pleased each time. Children are welcome here and it is very relaxing sitting outside, they have sun umbrella's over most of the tables and some fans around the patio area.

It's ok, nothing special compare to Lucy's in New Orleans. Food is average nothing to talk about. Service is slow and there are no drink specials, happy hour, etc. It's much better with a group of people watching a game. The outside bar is the only reason to come here during the summer. It get's a 3 because of it's location.

Yuck. Rum bucket drink tasted like soapy water and burger tasted like a frozen patty and my boyfriends Philly cheesesteak was awful. We both left more than half on our plate... Not coming back. Not good service either.

This place is most likely really cool on game day or live music, if your expecting a small portion of food and a lot of beer. But as a primary dining option....not so much. Cleanliness isn't a priority, but its typical for a beer joint. Get wasted immediately, it helps you forget the details.

Awesome little place. My experience this morning was 5 stars... And I'll tell you why. We ended up on the North Shore this Sunday morning and were looking for a place to eat that wasn't breakfast. No luck really, since it was before 11am but we decided after riding around to have a drink and chill until they opened. The bar tender came over and took our drink orders quick and friendly, even though we were early. And, as we sat for a minute the server came by and took our orders before it was 11am (opening time) That kind of hospitality goes a long way. Not only were the staff very nice but they were very cool and personable. As for the food, I had the civiche' & grilled fish tacos... both were awesome. The civiche' was different than I expected but great in it's own way and served with some cool & different crisp chips. The fish tacos were excellent and really had great flavor. I got exactly what I was looking for that day and totally did not expect it. My gf had the shrimp basket and fries, the shrimp were great. The texture was on point and the seasoned fries were awesome. I will look forward to the next time we go to the North Shore and trying this place again, by ourselves or with friends... Especially on a nice day outside chilling out and then walking off our food and spirits at the lake. OH... and they are pet friendly, Bonus! Great experience in my book.

Tolerable bar food, just don't get the seared tuna. Service is ok but they take a while and forget part of your order. Nothing spectacular but there are definitely worse restaurants in the area, and the atmosphere is great, which sort of makes up for the otherwise not so spectacular aspects of this place.

  • John L. H.

This is not a review of the restaurant. I have never eaten here. I have, however hung out at the bars. There are both an interior and outside bar. I prefer the outside bar when weather is nice. The bar is located very close to the lake so you get the wonderful lake breezes which makes it bearable, even in summer. They have a pretty good beer selection, and prices are very reasonable. One nice thing is that there is an empty lot next door where you can park. One not nice thing is that the bar closes for 2 a.m. Of course, all bars over here close early, but it still sucks.
