When we sat down for dinner, not only was it 100 degrees in the dining room, but our waitress did not come to greet us at our table for a good 15 minutes. The service we had waited for all that time was subpar at best. We had 5 of 6 of our party at the table and even told our waitress that we would order for the person who wasn't present but we again waited for a good 30 minutes for our waitress to grace us with her presence. The food was good, no complaints there, but the service made me long for the warm surroundings of the neighborhood Applebee's.

I am so in love with this place! The owners are fantastic people and they take such great care and attention to detail to the menu and the entire restaruant. Tony Make's the best scallops I have ever tasted, and the Sunday brunch is a must. They have such a great mentality when it come to the food and wine: truly good food and wine does not have to be incredibly expensive. All of the staff is amazing which is why my family and I have been regulars for years. No matter how far away I move, any time I'm in town, I always make time for Water Street Bistro.

My husband definitely picked a great Restuarant. I had the redfish which was nice and flaky cooked to perfection . And my husband had the paneed veal it was nice and tender he did not even have to use a knife to cut the meat the fettuccine was aldente . We topped it off with a creamy vanilla bean creme brûlée topped with blueberries and freshly brewed coffee. Our waiter Christian was also wonderful . We will be back for more.

Wow. This place is great. Small and quaint with a gormet menu. 1st class restuarant in the middle of nowhere. A must try you wouldn't be disappointed. I had veal stew was great my wife had salmon that was even better Bread pudding is excellent and I eat it everywhere. Walnuts instead of pecans very refreshing for Nola

FOOD: A SERVICE: A AMBIANCE: A FOOD: Hats off to the Chef of the Water Street Bistro! This is south Louisiana cuisine and ingredients that have been elevated to a beautiful and delicious platform. The Grouper was done to perfection and presented simply over a sauteed bed of fresh spinach surrounded by a light, buttery, delicious sauce. The gulf shrimp entree came loaded with a bounty of fresh garden ingredients typical of Mediterranean cuisine - light, fresh, and healthy!. The Veal Panna was the best I've ever tasted - buttery, and melt in your mouth. SERVICE: Our waitress was outstanding. Very friendly and attentive to all of our needs. AMBIANCE: The restaurant is a few doors down from the juggernaut we all know as Morton's and sits in a small, quaint old home overlooking the Tchefuncte River. Although I liked the ambiance overall, I though there was room for improvement (especially in the bathrooms). The dining space is small, so reservations are probably a good idea, although they welcome walk-ins. If eating on the North Shore and are looking for something beyond the typical fare, Water Street Bistro is a must try.

Always a wonderful experience, and did not disappoint this time as well. We were two couples, each selecting one of the two daily specials: pan seared grouper and soft-shell crab, each served with lump blue crab meat on top and the feature selection placed on wilted spinach. The crab was done perfectly and the fish nearly so. Minor flaw was that the grouper did seem to have been a wee tad overdone. Put the entrées together with amazingly tasty and flawlessly executed grilled scallop appetizer and fresh, lively salads as well as a good bottle of wine and fast, friendly service, and were all happy diners. Will return each time we are in the area.

I haven't posted a review for any restaurant , but this one deserved a yelp! ( pun intended) The fish selection was fresh and the vegetables were definitely bought locally. I would highly recommend eating here, we drove from Mississippi and it was worth the drive. If you want food that is slow because of quality and heart then this a place to seek out.

Great food, good service, nice atmosphere. I had 4 huge grilled sea scallops on a bed of spinach with feta cheese crumbles, artichokes, scallions, black olives and pine nuts with a balsamic reduction sauce. Awesome! The chocolate flourless cake should of been served with a vanilla ice cream instead of heavy heavy whipped cream in my opinion. But my friend's chocolate tarte with ice cream and caramel sauce was to die for.

This is one of my favorites. They have an awesome Sunday Brunch with $2 bloody's, screwdrivers and mimosas....that's fun. The chef is very good and one of my favorites is the panned veal. It's done very nice. The bistro is very quaint and perfect for a nice lunch or dinner. The service is very good and attentive. There are 4 tables on the front porch with a great view of the river as well. I highly recommend giving them a try if you haven't been there before!

I spoke at length with the waitress regarding the fact that I have celiac disease and ordered a grilled soft shell crab--of course sans flour. Well, apparently they ignored my wishes and dusted the crab with flour so I have been sick for 3 days. Will not go back.

This is a quaint and fabulous place where you can enjoy a delicious dinner and quiet conversation. My husband had paneed veal and fettucine - fabulous! I had smoked salmon appetizer and bouillabaise that was out of this world! The service was quiet, polite and efficient. We thoroughly enjoy going here on a regular basis, and the view is amazing, right next to the water front...thus the name! One other thing I like about this restaurant...Unlike other places where the music is so loud that you cannot hear anything but the music, Water Street's music is quiet and a nice selection. From all of us who like to converse as we dine, THANK YOU.

Very good! Cute atmosphere and very good service. Quiet and a great place to go for a relaxed meal. Delicious food! I have not been disappointed in my 2 visits here. The first time I got the crab cakes and the last time I got the Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Both were very good.
