Wow! this place is so unexpectedly delicious. resturaunt decor/location: it's connected to a sleazy looking motel in the middle of Leesville off 171. it's a little run down but not dirty. the food: OMG the food is so good. the menu is extensive and looks authentic. I loved almost everything I've ordered here. Favorite is yellow curry, pad thai, prawn in blanket, & thai tea. My favorite resturaunt in Leesville

Brother ain't even Thai! Food is just average for Asian / Thai cuisine. Really, there are much better places elsewhere for less $$. But, it is bloody Leesville, so one has to settle. So, this place is a short-term fix until we get evacuated back to civilization... aka anywhere other than Louisiana. And the portions are weak. $12.00 for a small plate of Pad Thai. In Houston, a similar sized plate would be $7. Left feeling a bit robbed. In summary, set your expectations LOW, and be ready to stop for a snack or dessert afterwards.

I make sales calls in town every couple months and this is my go to place for dinner. Their food is amazing. The quality is always superior. The portions are generous and I always leave happy. My favorite is #45 with red snapper spicy! It's a must try if you like white fish. You can ask for mild of you aren't one for spice but personally I go for spicy.

Not the best Thai food. I've tasted Thai food from different countries made by Thai people and this wasn't the best. I've tried the papaya salad, tom yum soup, fried rice, flaming beef, and Thai tea. First time here and not coming back. Food doesn't taste clean and fresh.

Moved to East Texas a few months ago and have had a hard time finding good food. I decided to take a trip to who knows where when I stumbled upon this place. I have been dying for Thai food and there is not a Thai place to be found where I live. My favorite kind of hole in the wall kinda place did not disappoint. Yum.

Fantastic! I personally LOVE Thai food and their prices and quality are comparable to another Thai place in DeRidder. The space is small, and the cultural barrier can lead to the staff being misconstrued as rude, but the food great! Authentic and SPICY!

Positives. - The only ethnic food in Leesville, LA. - Thadapetch is a jewel lost between New Orleans and Houston. Food is remarkably authentic; spices range from mild to thai-HOT. - Pan-fried noodles and fried rice dishes were excellent. One of the few thai restaurants where you can enjoy thai soups. Negatives. - Owner/manager's child plays in the dining area. It can be distracting. - Ambiance needs an uplift. TV plays FX or Spike, which is sometimes not the best channel to have up if you have kids in the mix, older parents, or if you're having a business conversation.

This is the best restaurant in Leesville. The owner is friendly, and you will enjoy every dish you ordered. If you can not eat spicy food, ask owner how spicy the food is before you order. Do Not order Thai Hot if you are not a big fan of flammable dishes.

If you're in Leesville you know how limited your dining options are. This place is a gem

Absolutely delicious. Spotless. Great Service. If you don't want really spicy order medium. Some of the best duck curry ever.

This is a Leesville LA five star review. I will definitely be back. Chicken satay, prawns in a blanket, pla-meuk tod were all good. Not knock your socks off good, but quite good. Gaeng ped yaang red curry duck hot was delicious and actually hot. My wife liked her yellow curry chicken. We'll try noodle dishes next time. Family-run local restaurant serving straight up good Thai food. Great with three feisty toddlers. Not a fancy spot in the Days Inn building, but if you want fancy you're probably not looking for it around here anyway. Enjoy-- I know we will again!!

Went to the restaurant for the first time and I thought that the food tasted great. That being said, the guy was nice and friendly, but the lady that works there kinda had a negative vibe around her and I got the feeling that she didn't want to be bothered. Also, when the food was being ordered, it was very surprising to pay $14.99 for one meal and $9.99 for another and neither meal did not come with rice, which has to be ordered separately at $1 per person. Additionally, the portions of the items without the rice were medium sized. I like thai tea and I guess she got offended that I told her not to put too much ice in the cup (but with the notice that there was no free refills and the drink was $2 each, can you REALLY blame ME for asking for there to not be too much ice? The food was good, but expensive. I know Thai food can be on the pricey side, but geeze. I don't blame the other person in the comment section about feeling a little robbed. That was my experience.

Without a doubt, the best Thai food you will find in Leesville. Sure, there may not be many other options, but Tha Da Petch will not disappoint. The cooking is authentic, quick and hot (when required). The cook will spice the food to order. And "Thai Hot" truly is.... Pricing is as expected for Leesville. Very casual atmosphere. Large space in the back for a meeting, hail/farewell, etc.

Best Thai Food on the planet. The only reason I would ever go back to Leesville ever. Since I left out of town, never found a place as good as them. Very sad. Wish they would franchise every where. That might be very bad for my wallet but my taste buds would have a party. Thank you.

I love Indonesian food. Sam and his wife are very friendly and the food hits the spot every time!

Authentic as I've seen anywhere. I usually get the papaya salad. It's solid. Their heat levels are pretty inconsistent though. There are days when 'hot' is comfortably warm and others when hot melts metal. The sticky rice helps put out the fire.

My wife and I have visited this restaurant twice now. The food has always been impeccable. Like some of the other reviewers have said, if you aren't sure how spicy of food you can eat, get the owner to explain if you can. Thai Iced Tea and Thai Iced Coffee are two of the best beverage choices. Now, why did I rate it only three stars? The owner and his wife have this attitude. They are not pleasant to deal with overall. They often seem annoyed, even if you are the only people in the restaurant. They almost seem jaded. It's the South; show some hospitality. We are often not greeted when we come in, as others may be. Just overall I was disappointed in the service.

Worst Thai I've ever had. The stir fry wasn't even cooked together. Tough, old chicken with some undercooked broccoli and huge chunks of cabbage that they poured the sauce over. Pad Thai was equally uninspiring. Also, $24 for lunch with no drinks or apps is way too much.

Being the only Thai restaurant in town this place definitely cornered the market. The downside to that is that there's no other Thai place to compare the food here with. I'm visiting from Los Angeles and had Thai food 3 times this week. I can understand why many others give this place 5 stars, but I have to be honest, I gave this place 3 stars for 2 reasons. #1 I paid $14 (after tax and tip) for an unsatisfying dish of Pad Kee Mao. #2 The portions weren't as big as I'm accustomed to and it was just way too salty and had a strange sauce that I normally don't find in this dish. However, given the fact that no competition exists in this area and when you have a Thai fix, this is the only place to satisfy that desire. I also tried the Thai Fried Rice and thought it was pretty decent. It was definitely better with a bit of spice and also with some of the Thai chilis in fish sauce. The Thai coffee was also spot on. Overall, I think the portions can be a bit bigger. Most of the folks at our table went home wanting more food, and when you're paying $12-14 for dishes like Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao and any of the curries, I expect to go home satiated. However, the excessive saltiness and steep prices bring my score down a point each. For the money, I think I'd rather go to Buffet City just up the street for my fill of Asian food.

WOW!!!! Thadapetch is f'n awesome!!! Having been to Thailand twice, I consider myself to be a bit of a Thai food connoisseur. Thadapetch is operated by a couple that is from Thailand, therefore the dishes are quite authentic. I tried the tom yum talay, which was properly served in a hot pot. Flavor was spot on, and they didn't skimp on the seafood. I also got an order of pad see ew, and that was also just perfect. Leesville is kind of far from home, but this place is so good I would make the 45 minute drive just to eat here; it's that good!!

This place was an unexpected find in Leesville. I initially had reservations about eating Thai food here, but I'm glad I tried it out. I've had several of their dishes and each one was amazing. Their Thai Tea is wonderful after a very spivey meal. Just a warning, their "Thai hot" dishes are EXTREMELY spicy.

So I read the reviews before traveling here and at the advice of some co-workers I would give this place a shot.... I truly hate this place (my sarcastic attempt). They were closed a few days ago, so I went down the street and had Japanese food instead. I then went back to the Japanese restaurant the next day and figured I'll try Thai my last night in town. So tonight, I walk in with my co-workers and had some of the best Thai food I've had in a long time. What I hate is that it's just a long distance from home (CA) for me to order some take out. I found my favorite Thai restaurant for the year and it's too far from home. The food was just perfect and full of flavor. Portions were perfect and priced just right. HINT: Close your eyes, spin the menu, open it up and point at 3 different items and just order it. I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order here. Just be sure to try the deep fried ice cream for dessert. The favorites in my group were the shrimp fried rice, pad thai, red curry chicken, deep fried prawns and satay chicken. Do you need directions? Really? Just look for the BFS (Big F'n Sign) that reads "Thai Restaurant". You can't miss it... Really, you can't... It's just below the Days Inn and Enterprise (rental car) signs on US HWY 171. And, get there early because this place gets busy. NOTE TO SELF: Go here first....... second....... third...... etc....... I am just simply blown away with the food choices and quality in town!!!!!!!!

This place is phenomenal. They don't mess around with the spice tho, so beware. The food is amazing. I had the cashew chicken and it was the best. Perfect cuts, tender, perfectly seasoned. Delicious. Sizable portions of rice. Its a great restaurant. The staff can be a little cold, perhaps its a cultural thing. I'd recommend eating in as the to go experience is not as good.

I've dined at Tha Da Petch twice. The service was good, and the food was great! The restaurant has a very laid back vibe/atmosphere -- modest decor, no music playing, and don't wait for your check at your table because you pay at the register. The food however is on par with any fine dining Thai restaurant I've ever experienced. Tha Da Petch is a "must-visit" if you are in Leesville!

The food is always great here 5 stars. The kung poa is my fave Atmosphere has room for improvement. Furnature needs improvement. The entertainment piece is the family's kid who plays at one of the tables with hot wheels, crossfire, or watches you tube videos. I don't mind its just something to add. If you see him there post about it. He will be famous.

I don't usually care much for Thai, but based on the reviews I gave it a try. It was really flavorful and I would recommend it if you are in Leesvile.

best restaurant in Leesville. Hana sucks horrendously (unless you like high BP from everything being smothered in soy sauce). This place offers some of the best thai food in LA. Get the green curry with chicken and shrimp (cooked in real coconut milk). The atmosphere is extremely family friendly and the service is top notch. Plenty of options for picky eaters (pad thai, chicken satay, spring rolls)

Run! Don't walk to this place!! Sure, the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired, but the food totally makes up for it!! Sam, the owner, is friendly and this is seriously authentic food!! This restaurant is very consistent and I love that I can get tofu substituted with any of the dishes. They even have some back-up staples for those who still like their "chinese-ish" fixes like Orange Chicken for my daughter and Kung Pao Chicken for my husband. I get the number 22, which is amazing. I can't remember what it's called but it's veggies and your choice of meat(or tofu) sauteed in a garlicky basil sauce. If you haven't yet, try their Thai iced tea with your meal and if you're really brave, get your food "Thai hot" and see if you can take it! :)

My friends know that I would never pick Thai food as my first choice when going out to eat, however, being sent to Leesville for any length of time will make you try something new just for the excitement. Anyway, I got talked into going to Tha Da Petch one night and was absolutely blown away at how incredible the food was! I admit I stuck as close to my usual food pyramid as I could (Beef with extra beef, please), but still, it was just amazing. From that meal on, I knew I had found "gold". Over the following year, I went there as often as I could with friends to see the owner Sam and wallow in the glory of all that is Tha Da Petch -- we love talking to Sam and he always got our order PERFECT! To be honest, I have not tried another Thai place since -- I want to preserve the memory of how truly spectacular the food was there. TIP: When you go, and Sam asks you "how hot?", don't be afraid to ask for "Thai hot" -- but don't push it: I know a Marine that was so sure "Thai hot" was too sissy, that he egged Sam on to make it "as hot as he could, I can take it". Well, let's just say my Marine friend had some trouble reporting in the next day ;o) So many people I know that have travelled to that part of Louisiana have asked me when the last time I had Tha Da Petch was -- I'm seriously planning a return visit there this year just for the food. If you have the means to travel there, do so (Fly into Alexandria & drive about an hour out into the woods where you'll find Leesville -- and Tha Da Petch). Easily "6 Stars".

YUM. I highly recommend the drunken noodles and mango sticky rice. A co-worker got one of the noodle soups and found it a bit bland, but everything I had was amazing. Spicy peppers, strong thai-basil, and a sauce that was the right balance of sweet and salty. The menu is pretty varied, even includes some more traditionally type chinese dishes for those who don't love coconut or curry, and the prices are reasonable. I was pretty surprised to find this place in the middle of Louisiana.

I took Tamaris J.'s advice and went to the Thadapetch with tw friends while staying in Leesville. This place is truely phenominal!! We walked in and were greeted by Sam the owner who was our server, I told him our expectations were high because of the YELP reviews. He has never heard of YELP and said he didnt get on the internet. I showed him the reviews on my Iphone and he said it made him happy! Well after eating here we were all happy too! I had the #32 Kung Pao Chicken with medium spice. Unbelievable!! My buddies had #37 Gaeng Ka-Ree and #60 Pad Ke-Mao and we all split #15 soup Tom Kha Ta-Lay. WOW!! We will be returning many times before leaving Leesville. How much Thai can be to much??? Keep it up Sam!
