I'm not a fan of wraps, but a friend of mine raved about this place so I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. I wouldn't say that this place is for the healthy eater, but their fare is lighter. Well this is Southern Louisiana, so I guess if it is not deep fried in lard then it is considered healthy. Give it a try! As like me, you will not be disappointed.

Roly Poly offers a very wide variety of rolled sandwiches ("wraps", kind of like big, soft tortillas). These are either served regular or (some varieties) served hot out of a panini press. If you're on a special diet (low-carb, vegetarian, low-fat), their menu is very easy to follow to find something right for you. They also offer 2 or 3 different soups per day, a variety of chips, and a small offering of fresh-baked cookies. If it's a peak time (e.g., lunch), then expect that you may be unable to find a parking spot immediately in front of this location. (More parking available with a short walk included, though.) The interior has local art (paintings, photography, news clippings, etc), an unobtrusive TV, and music playing the background. The prices are higher than your typical fast food joint, but the quality is definitely evident. If you skip the chips and a drink, you can get a whole (vs half) rolled sandwich for the price you'd pay for a combo at a burger joint. Their honey mustard has an awesome kick to it -- I get it every time I go.

I stopped by around lunch time, and although the place was busy, the employees were courteous and clearly explained the menu, and the restaurant itself was very clean. The food itself was wonderful and the cooking was superb.

Customer service is above and beyond. When you arrive, you are greeted by the manager, and he is so friendly! Small place but good rolled sandwiches. Oriental chicken is my favorite, and it's loaded with healthy stuff!

The perfect stop-in lunch place. Also great for feeding the office. Everything is freshly prepared. Discounts are offered to students, veterans, and teachers. Perfect place for UL students. Food is freshly prepared and very tasty. The owner and his staff always greet you with a smile. They're also great supporters of the local community.

Okay, just ate there on my wife's recommendation from dining there yesterday. The place was standing room only so I got my food to go. Very nice lady at the register offer me a free beverage while I waited. The peach mango tea was great. Got my food and headed to the door when the owner came up and thanked me for stopping by. Said he met my wife the day before (assumed she must have been showing pictures but no) which took me by surprise. Thought to myself as I walked to the car if folks here got any more hospitable I'd need to start inviting everyone I meet over for cocktails. Definitely one of the friendliest place I've been since we moved here in June. Went to the park and took my first bite. Very pleasantly surprised by how fresh and hot my wrap was (chicken pesto). Wanted a cookie but they only had macadamia nut so I passed. The owner did give his fruit and nut dry mix complimentary. It's delicious as well. Probably healthier than the cookie or he conspired with my wife. Not sure yet. All said, I will definitely go back and highly recommend.

The owner is amazing and felt so welcoming. I was so impressed with the service he provided. I will be order from here way more often. The food is awesome as well. I gave 5 stars because how nice service was. Food is excellent and hospitality is off the charts. Hidden in the oil center but the best stop.

Roy Poly has then freshest ingredients in the sandwiches but their best ingredients are the folks who work here. The owner is so friendly and remembers your name after a couple of visits. My tuna wrap had fresh spinach and tomatoes on it and was just perfect. Will come here everytimebwe are in town.

I'm from Lafayette but I now live in California and everytime I'm back home, I come here. Don't get me wrong, the food is great and the service is second to none but the owner, Matt, is the reason I'm giving this place five stars. He's the nicest guy who will always greet you with a smile and a compliment. He always has brightened my day. Even after 3 years of not living in Louisiana, he still remembers me and asks me how I'm liking California and if I'm every moving back home. More business owners and just people in general should be more like Matt!!

Roly Poly is a great place with a ton of options for even the most picky eater. The reason this Roly Poly is different from others is the amazing owner. He is unbelievable. Every time we walk into his store he makes you feel like he is your family! It is an incredible feeling that I can't even explain :) Definitely go here!!

Very quaint little place. The owner Matt was very nice and welcoming as soon as I hit the door coming in. Everything sounded so good on the menu that I had him just pick me a wrap. The wrap he selected had turkey and bacon and all kinds of goodies on it along with some killer Dijon dipping sauce. A+.......keep up the great work Matt!

Best service in Lafayette. Great food. You must check it out. Mr Matthew is the definition of customer service and his staff is great too.

Sometimes it takes a while to find "your number" but Matthew and his team will do their best to help. If you visit regularly (like once a month), it's highly likely they'll remember your name. Uncommonly excellent service and the occasional pleasant surprise. This place is no secret, show up at 11:30 and you might beat the lunch rush (maybe). Military and student discounts, customer loyalty cards, fresh baked cookies. Favorite lunch: Turkey AppleJack sandwich, Lay's kettle cooked applewood smoked bbq chips, raspberry tea, and a "blonde" macadamia nut cookie. (I hear the chipotle chicken salad is great, too).

The owner is very friendly and helpful. The sandwiches and soups are awesome! The only problem is that they are not open for dinner. This is probably going to be a regular stop for us whenever we pass through Lafayette.

Roly Poly is one of the better places in town to eat. It's healthy and vegetarian-friendly (for those of you who are interested in that). I wish they had a better location so that I could eat there more often. I don't hand out 5 stars all that easily, but I would give this place 5 stars, no question. I'm a huge fan of their soups.

Great local place and a nice location away from busy roads. Stopped in for a quick lunch and the decor is all local. Lots of community and UL support. Straightforward menu, clean, some of the nicest employees as well. While eatin, locals/usuals are all met with first name greetings by the owner, Matt, who was running the register. Some bigger group next to me was informed by a server on the status of their meal as it was taking just a bit longer than anticipated. Also, during the rush, Matt stopped by my table and asked how things were, acknowledging me by name. The wraps are all a great take on sandwiches. I got a philly melt and the wrap was toasted perfectly. The meat and peppers was all fresh, and melty cheese. Def will be coming back for lunch if I'm back in town.

Roly Poly is easily the best Sandwich, Soup, and Salad restaurant. Matt (the owner) makes every guest feel welcomed. He truly cares about this business and the people of this city. The food is consistently great, and I've NEVER had a negative experience. With plenty of options and great atmosphere, this Roly Poly location will be a favorite of mine as long as it's here.

Great service! Owner works the register and is extremely friendly. Love that he gave every table a free cookie for dessert!

This type of food is more for the health conscious people... That being said, their "rolls" are light, but might not fill you up if you're a heavy eater. However, they are quiet delicious.

Great cookies . They usually give a free one with each order. The sandwiches are very good but the nature of the sandwich (little bread) makes it hard to get really full on a meal. It isn't a knock on the quality, just the nature of the sandwich. The chicken with cheese and barbque sauce us very good. Wife goes every weekend for soup and sandwich.

Absolutely amazing. If you're in a hurry call ahead and they will have it ready by the time you get there. Super nice great uniforms and the owners is always trying to help his customers. So worth it!

There's nothing better than a healthy salad in a cafe with friendly and welcoming staff. We were offered free coffee or tea while we waited for our food. Often, it's the small touches that make all the difference and I'm happy to say that Roly Poly delivered.

Roly Poly is one of the few places in Lafayette that I'd give a 5 star rating. I've been a fan for a long time, and it's the consistency of both quality and customer service that keeps me coming back. On my last visit, I ordered the Spa Salad, and a side of Spring Asparagus soup. The owner gave me a cup of his amazing trail mix... I saved it for later, and ate it while doing some late night web browsing... it was so good. The cup that he serves it in is the perfect size, if I had a bag of it I'm sure I'd have eaten the whole thing! haha
