I am sorry to say it but 90% of the people in Lafayette do not know shit about Chinese Food... and if you believe that this place is good, then you are one of them. Case in point -- This totally horrible Chinese boo-fay gets an average of four stars? Seriously? This is the worst Chinese buffet in Lafayette, except maybe for that disgusting Chun King over on Johnston St. I am not going to wax poetic and go into every detail about this place - I will just give the high-lights - or low-lights. - Décor - dirty. Tables are cheap and ugly, and the chairs are junior chairs, not real adult chairs. They are too low for a good sized adult like me. - Egg Drop Soup - Gross. Colored with chemicals. Almost inedible. - Wonton Soup - broth tastes like dishwater. - Sushi - cheapest crap I've ever had. Don't know if there was any fish at all in the 4-5 different kinds that I tried. - Teriyaki chicken - meh - Fried dumplings - cold and greasy Need I go on? I am getting ready to barf just having to think about this disgusting place. Ohh and I am glad to know that my one star review knocked this place down to 3.5 stars... To think that this place has a four star review is pretty revolting.

They have stepped up their game since the first time I been here. They finally offered seafood (hence the increase in price) and their food selection is bigger, and a little tastier.

For a giant buffet Hai Nam isn't half bad... Too bad it's not great either. Everything here is mediocre. They have something for everyone, but I doubt anyone would really be excited by anything they would eat. I came here originally the first day they opened. The quality of the food has gone down significantly since then. I can't really recommend this place, but if you are looking to be a glutton that doesn't care much about quality, this place would probably fit the bill.

Best Chinese food buffet I have ever eaten. One thing I can't stand is for buffets with cold food. The two times I have gone the food has always been hot. The rolls are delicious and the chicken dishes all had a unique taste and didn't blend into each other. This place gets knocked down from 5 because the hibachi section is a joke. They ask you to season everything and I was given a fried egg that wasn't integrated into the rice. Besides that, I would recommend it to anyone who wants Americanized Chinese food.

For your typical Chinese buffet, this is not a bad place to eat. It's not the highest quality food it's not even the best tasting food but when it comes to feeding a family, say right after church, it's a safe bet that everyone in your family will find something that they like. The boiled seafood-shrimp, crabs, crawfish- they do an adequate job.

It was ok. To be fair oriental food is much better fresh I'm sure this place would have been better if we got here when the food came out.

This was hands down the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. The fried rice was inedible. THE FRIED RICE! How can you mess that up? All the cooks were Mexicans....can they not find actual Chinese people to cook??? When I got a CHINESE restaurant I expect Chinese cooks. The food was so bad I barely ate anything and left almost as hungry as when I came in. Oh, and it's expensive. Thanks Hai Nam for the rip-off.

Their food selection keeps growing so that's always a plus! I come back because my son loves this place and the food is tastey. We went last night because I was craving snow crabs. I was worried that they would be too salty but they did great! The snow crabs were well seasoned but the boiled shrimps were not. Their sushi selection isn't too bad considering it's a Chinese food buffet. My only complaint were the floors. They had food all over them.

Most of the food was cold even though there were a lot of people there. The food was bland and over cooked especially the fried stuff. The only thing I liked was the chocolate ice milk cone for dessert. Not going back.

The Family has been here several times and have always liked it. So we came here after a day of Shopping. We got here early about 4:45pm. They were already into the Dinner menu. I honestly have never seen so much Seafood at an Asian Buffet. The shrimp were full body in the shell, which is the way they eat them here. I tired one, but sorry to say they were mushy and ruined. I was glad I only took one. They had great Clams and mussels. Some awesome crab dishes as well. There truly was a huge selection here. Something for everyone. They even had a huge section of fried food. As well Sushi and Mongolian BBQ. There is more than you cold imagine. That must be why it is so popular. Restrooms were not the cleanest. But, I do find that in a lot of the Buffets. The restrooms are a bit on the dirty side. I do not know why that is though. It is worth a try if you are in the area. Lots of people came in later. So I think they do a great business.

We came here for an early dinner, about 5:30pm. I think waiting just about 15-30 min would have been better, because they started putting out fresher trays of food after we had each had a plate. The fresh stuff was really good. They also have a good variety. We'll definitely be back.
