Healthy Meal suggestions for Cracker Barrel

I highly recommend the roast beef! It was so tender, juicy and tasty! Our last visit was the first time I had the willpower to deviate from my favorite breakfast foods there & I wasn't disappointed. Every time we go here, always good service & lots of really good food.

Good specials and very close to home cooking. Very friendly staff. Just a good place to go to get away from the norm and have a good meal. Fried Fish on Fridays is the best in Lafayette. On my update - I had to drop it a star. Service has declined.

Ok so usually chains are boring and disappointing .. however because of my fondness for breakfast (pancakes in particular mmm) I really like this place. Eggs are ok but my advice order a pancake breakfast or something with biscuits and apple butter. As I have never eaten anything besides breakfast there I can not personally tell you how the rest of the menu happens to be; but their breakfast is definitely yummy (esp for a chain )

I wanted a quick and easy dinner and that's what I got. It was even healthy. I got the bbq chicken and veggies off the low calorie menu and it was pretty tasty. My food came out very quickly and my server was just the right amount of attentive. I also perused the store for a bit, looking for snacks. I spotted some sweet potato chips and grabbed them, then my eyes opened wide when I spotted some bacon jerky! I got a pack of those too, and grabbed a couple Lindor chocolate truffels before paying and walking back over to my hotel. The bacon jerky was like crack. The next day I stopped at a different cracker barrel and bought 3 more packs of it!

I don't really care for Cracker Barrel breakfast as much as I do for lunch but the service here is not as up to par as other Cracker Barrels along hwy 59. They now sell cases of the diet Orange Cream Soda that is my absolute favorite! Yay them!!!

Oh how I love visiting the Cracker Barrel when I leave California, and how I wish I could give this one a better review. Half of our orders were wrong, potatoes were cold, drinks were never refilled and just the experience was terrible! I am really sad about this because normally everything is spot on perfect. I was trying to blame it on the fact they were crowded, but after 45 minutes of waiting for food, the restaurant had cleared out and it after hearing out waiter had just forgot to put in our ticket, it became clear it wasn't a crowd issue. If there is another one near by, head that way, I would avoid this location.

Cracker Barrel continues to impress. I don't eat here often, and find the kitchy atmosphere with all of the dreck lining the shelves to be a lot of clutter, but their food delivers. Their chicken & dumplings is an exercise is understated elegance and deliciousness, their hot rolls are yumm, their burger is fresh as are the vegetables, and the services is efficient and pleasant... what's not to like. ? I'd give CB the fiver if it wasn't for their ridiculous decor and junk lining the walls.

I can't really speak for lunch or dinner, but HELL yeah, Cracker Barrel breakfast. Hell yeah. That's really all I need to say.

Your standard Cracker Barrel, but even if it's mid summer bring a light jacket on my visits to this location the AC was always cracked up so high you feel like your in a freezer. Thank the gods for their halfway decent coffee.

At this location I branched out of my comfort zone to get the ultimate comfort foot country fried steak. I am not a fan of white gravy but I decided to get it the authentic way and am I glad i did. The dish reminds me of breaded veal cutlet, it was flavorful and the white gravy gave it an extra boost of flavor. I got it with the greens, hash brown casserole and fried apples. The greens and hash brown casserole were the worst I have ever gotten at Cracker Barrel for some reason the apples were the usual delish. I guess I have a new item to put in my Cracker Barrel rotation.

Home Cookin' Done Right! Let's face it... you're either a fan of home cookin' or you're not. Likewise, you're either a fan of this restaurant's "country" atmosphere (with "old junk" on the walls) or not. Places that serve "meat-n-taters" or cornbread are not for everyone. Well, I like plain, simple dishes, even in a chain restaurant environment. I've always found the restaurant to be clean and the staff to be friendly/helpful. My most recent visit was this past weekend when I tried the sampler... meatloaf, chicken-n-dumplings, and ham. The sides I chose were steamed broccoli, hashbrown casserole, and cheese grits. The portions were generous. The food was tasty and satisfying. If you're looking for a "high end" or "gourmet" experience, try somewhere else. This ain't it. If you're looking for a casual dining experience with home-style foods, or if you're on the road and tired of fast food joints, this is a most welcome change. Overall, this place is a good bet which won't leave you feeling that you've been cheated by the money or time you spend here.

I've been here two times and the service has been AWFUL both times...waitresses who didn't check on us except for one time, our food took way too long, I'm pretty unimpressed with this location.

You can never go wrong with Cracker and Barrel. This is the old fashioned chain store that is set up just the same as every Cracker and Barrel franchise and the food is always on point. Each time I go, I get the Chicken Fried Steak- the tenderness of the chicken is really good and the way that they make the fried outer layer is not dry, but crusty and tasteful. The meat was very juicy inside and the overall flavor gushes into your taste buds. Since today was Monday, my parents got the Daily Special but they were not as satisfied as I was. They claimed the baked? chicken was really dry. My other colleague got the chicken dumplings but she did not like it. She claims it was "not her type" The atmosphere was warming and very country western, and the server was extremely kind. Definitely recommending any one that enjoys a good old country restaurant to check any of these joints out! There is also a little store in there too! Great gifts and old fashioned candy!
