Very good crab cakes, surprising. Same dumb credit card policy but only if you sit at the bar. How absurd is that? Service was ok.

One of my favorite restaurants when I visit Lafayette. My latest experience was on a Thursday night around 7:00 p.m. and the restaurant was packed. Our wait for a table was less than 15 minutes. We were very pleased with the cocktails we had before and during the meal. We started with Rockefeller style oysters, which were were good and filling. We then had a tomato avocado panzanella salad and a Bonefish house salad. The dressing on the panzanella salad was too bold (tart) to eat, the house salad had no hearts of palm in it. Both salads were plentiful in size. Next we had Bang Bang shrimp which is always enjoyable! Now for the service, we had to flag our waitress down several times to ask for a glass of water and our check. Unfortunately I don't get to visit Bonefish very often and for the first time, my experience was disappointing.

We have enjoyed Bonefish in Baton Rouge. This was our first time at the Lafayette location. Bang Bang shrimp is always good. My son and his girlfriend both had fish dishes and they really enjoyed them. I had the sea scallops and shrimp but with shrimp only served with the mango salsa. I am usually hesitant to get grilled shrimp because so many times it comes out dry. But this time it was not. Was cooked just right and very tasty. Many times we stay away from chains and opt for a local place but we always have good experiences at Bonefish.

The Hawaiian orchid martini and pineapple martini were awesome . But I didn't like the taste of chicken taco with mango salsa. It was too sweet . Edamame hummus was good . I will go back for drink .

The food here is always great, I don't think I've ever had a meal here I didn't like. The only downside, is how busy this place gets on weekends. You can expect a good hour to hour and a half wait, every Friday and Saturday night.

The food was excellent! I quite enjoyed the meal as well as the environment. Unfortunately it lacked on good service. Waiter rarely checked in on us. Had to flag him down on several occasions. Overall had a good time. Just wished we had better service.

Always a good experience.... lilys chicken is my meal! Bang bang shrimp appetizer. Wifey loves the stuffed tilapia. Consistent from here to Colorado springs.

I don't eat on the south side of town in Lafayette often because the traffic is just stupid. With that said, however, I make an exception for Bonefish, because I LOVE this restaurant. I am very cautious about eating seafood at restaurants because I have had some bad experiences, but this place has always been a safe bet for me. Take anyone here, from friends to family to a first or anniversary date. If you're not hungry, there is a quaint, socially-designed bar area & outdoor area for you to enjoy. My favorite drink at Bonefish is their Black Cherry Guava Mojito. I've also had mimosas there for brunch & naturally, that was tasty as well. If you want to dine & drink, there is a nice, dimly lit area inside that is very attractive. Now to food... The fairly new a la carte brunch menu has not yet tempted me, so I have no information about it. If you order an entree, you will receive a bit of fabulous bread at the table; therefore, budget your appetite wisely or you will find yourself full after the bread & any appetizers. The Crab & Corn Bisque is rich, buttery & full of lump crab, the Edamame is good, the Edamame Hummus is ok, the Mussels Josephine is a satisfying & very large appetizer (consider sharing, even if you order it as an entree!), the Bang Bang Chicken is divine, the Crab Cakes are HANDS DOWN THE BEST IN LAFAYETTE & the Asparagus side dish is delicious. The servings of most entrees are pretty big here, so be prepared to eat! My one gripe about this place is that it isn't open for lunch on the weekends, which completely baffles me. How stupid is that?!? I know rent has got to be expensive & the weekend traffic on Bonefish's side of town should entice the owners/managers to capitalize on the money to be made by being open. My advice would be to go & try a bunch of little things or to share plates with others to find your passion at Bonefish. I'd be surprised if you left without anything but a literal & figurative good taste in your mouth. :^)

Every time I come to Lafayette, this is the first place on my agenda to go. The food here is amazing! My first time eating here was in Baton Rouge, LA, and I have been hooked ever since. There is NO WAY you can come here without starting off with the Bang Bang Shrimp. I have never had shrimp taste so good to me. Please please Bonefish Grill expand your locations so that I can eat your shrimp and be happy. I mean, its this banging shrimp that I come here for anyway. I also love to get the Diablo Shrimp Fettuccine because it is so flavorful! Great drinks, great location. Try it!

Well, I'm not too crazy about this place. I love the grilled fish, but the rest of the menu doesn't tempt me. Apparently I am alone in my opinions; the restaurant is always full. My husband likes Bonefish, so we went last Wednesday. We couldn't even get in the door. I'm not sure if the crowd was there for the bar or food specials, but it was standing room only. We did eat there last night (Saturday). My meal was average. One of the waitstaff knocked a glass of ice water on my husband. I think that means we won't be back.

The food here has always been pretty good, but I just can't stand the wait times. Even when I call and make reservations I usually end up having to wait longer than I should.

Every time I've been here for dinner I have had a good experience. As many of the other reviews state, the bang bang shrimp is the prime time. I went for my birthday at lunch the other day and it was very disappointing. The service was good, if a little over attentive, but the food really fell short. Myself and another person in our party had the bang bang shrimp po boy. In the first place, it was hard to find the shrimp there were so few, in the second there was so much of the mayonnaise that the bun was falling apart. Near the end, had I wanted to finish the po boy it would have been necessary to use a knife and fork. I love knife and fork sandwiches, perhaps more than most people, but this wasn't built to be one, just the unfortunate result of a mt. Mayosuvius surprising an unsuspecting kitchen staff. I also got to try the shrimp and creamy corn cake. The shrimp had a very strong taste to them. Not fishy, but almost like eating the gas smell that you can sometimes smell on a grill when it first starts up. In addition, the oil that the corn cake was fried in really needed to be changed. One highlight, the kitchen did turn out an order of flourless chocolate cake even though it wasn't on the lunch menu. Wow! It was incredibly rich and enjoyable. I will still come back some time for dinner, but I wouldn't recommend taking lunch here.

Ordered the Steamed Cold Water Lobster Tail with a salad and herb rice. This was better than expected. It was so good I'm looking forward to coming back again in the near future. I also want to ask the chef how he got the lobster to be so sweet, flaovorful and tender. I've got to try this at home.

Have really enjoyed wine, cocktails, and fantastic appetizers here once a week for the past few months. The bacon wrapped scallops are cooked perfectly. Seared tuna is awesome. Bang Bang shrimp is always good. The servers have been so friendly,as have the bar staff. Dinner can be noisy. Go early.

Bonefish is a really good chain restaurant. My dinner was good. The lobster bisque was awesome but I don't recommend the bananas foster. It was hard to eat. You needed a knife to cut threw the cinnamon crisp that the melted ice cream and sticky caramel was covering and the banana didn't taste ripe.

High quality, perfectly prepared salmon and vegetables were otherwise ruined by one key ingredient: sugar (or more likely HFCS). More and more restaurants are using sugar as the main spice and I find it shameless and a little revolting. The salmon I had would have been absolutely perfect with just a little sea salt, not the maple-syrup pan-asian style sauce (which would have been more at home served over cheesecake). Lesson learned. As other reviewers have commented, this bar is fairly packed with pleasant-looking people--and for happening it all is, it's surprising that they close the doors so early.

The food is really not bad, nothing I'd really crave. The high point of this place is the social aspect. It seems to be the place everyone wants to be. They have drink specials all the time, a full bar to accomodate any needs; and a great atmosphere, weather you're there to mingle, or just to have a nice and relaxed dinner.

Went here last night for dinner and what a disaster. After 25 minutes of not even being served a glass of water my wife and I walked out. Two mangers were at the table directly behind trying to please a dissatisfied customer and noticed we had nothing but menus on our table but did absolutely nothing. The only person who attempted to correct the problem was the hostess while we were walking out. I have been to other Bonefish locations with no problems. Lafayette has far to many good restaurants to ever go back to this one.

This has become a go-to venue for me and my hubby's date nights. The service is always good and the food never fails to be delicious. You should definitely try at least one of the specialty martinis. They're all yummy and dangerous, so be careful! My personal favorite is the Pomegranate Martini. For an appetizer, the Bang Bang Shrimp is always a winner. It's basically fried shrimp with spicy mayonnaise - the kind you get at a sushi restaurant - so simple yet so good! I'm also a fan of the Singapore Calamari. The Corn Chowder with Lump Crab is luscious, and I love the crisp hearts of palm and tangy citrus vinaigrette on the House Salad. I've tried many of the entrees in the past, but lately I always gravitate to the Ahi Tuna Sashimi "Tokyo Style". It's the same as the appetizer except served with fluffy jasmine rice and crunchy steamed Asian vegetables that have a fantastic sweet and spicy sauce. The tuna is always magnificently rare, and the sesame seed coating adds the perfect touch. My husband jumps around the menu, but his favorite entrees include any of the grilled fish with lemon butter, Pecan Parmesan Crusted Rainbow Trout, and Sir Will's Fish & Chips. A word to the wise: it can get VERY crowded on Thursday-Sunday nights. I definitely advise calling ahead for a table. Otherwise, you may be waiting for an hour. Also, Thursday night always seems to be unofficial "cougar night", so if you're a single, attractive guy, WATCH OUT... Unless you're looking for a sugar mama, then totally go!

Am visiting Lafayette for the first time & my boss brought me here for dinner. I enjoyed ALL of my meal. I went with the black cherry mojito, which was very tasty! The Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer left such an amazing impression that I woke up the next morning craving it again! I also ordered the pecan parmesan crusted trout with the lemon butter sauce & garlic mashed potatoes. The fish was cooked perfectly with a light outer crisp. I will definitely make this a must stop when I visit again!

Wow. My fourth time being here and I decide to order the bang bang shrimp because everything else I've had sucked, and people told me I HAD TO get the bang bang shrimp. Disgusting. Mayonnaise based sauce.... gross. Two of my shrimp were basically still alive. They were raw. I presented them to the manager and after some arguing I was able to get my money back ( I ate a total of 4 before I bit into the grey one). This experience was enough, I will never agree to come here again. Consider yourself warned.

I like Bonefish Grill for a few reasons: 1. They let me sit drink, eat and read with my dog on the patio. 2. They have a great drink menu. 3. They bring your dog bacon. 4. The Sea Bass and Seared Tuna are both FABULOUS. 5. Did I mention they have outdoor seating? I once had a waiter that tried to give me attitude and when I called him out on it he apologized and possibly spit in our water glass after it was taken away to be refilled. However, I haven't seen that guy in a while and our other waiters have been awesome. Hence the bacon for my dog.

If I'm meeting a client, wants an upbeat atmosphere, great food, go to Bonefish!!! They have long tables in the bar, great for meet and greet, great mussles, great martini's ( grey goose with stuffed blue cheese olives) and I always get fish Pan Asian... well now I do. I've had bang bang shrimp ( to die for), trout, ( wondereful) but just love the Halibut or Sea Bass pan asian... For Lafayette, it's a meat market too. Best looking women in town!!!! So all my oil rig buddies love to go there, especially if I'm paying! Pricey, but worth every penny. I go to Bonefish all over now!!! If there is one near, it's probably the best thing in town.

Bone fish grill in Lafayette was delicious. My favorites so far are Bang-Bang shrimp and the hamburger. My wife had the salmon salad which she enjoyed. The service was very good and friendly. I would definitely come back to this location.

Was in town on business and wanted seafood. I had to wait about 5 minutes to get seated as the two/three hostesses tried access the seating chart at the same time. When I was finally seated I waited for 15+ minutes and no one ever came over. I know it was over 15 minutes because I had sent a text right after being seated which I checked after realizing I had been sitting there for a long time. Probably a one-off but who knows. Too bad for them. I was on an expense account and had a taste for some cocktails.

First review ever for anything, but, had to make the effort to acknowledge exceptional treatment by the manager Mike when our food was late and we were up against a time limitation. Mistakes will be made, but, the important thing is how one reacts to those mistakes. We have been there many times before and because of this customer service Mike guaranteed we will return many more times in the future. Oh, and by the way the food was delicious!

Bonefish has it all. Great food, great drinks and a great staff. Austin and Billy are amazing waiters and really know how to make you feel at home. Katelyn at the bar can make you the most amazing martini's. It gets crowded on Wednesday's because of the Bang Bang Shrimp special but it's worth it. The Lilly's Salmon is amazing if you're into goat cheese. I highly recommend Bonefish for the food, fun and friends because once you get to know the staff you become family!

Horrible. Me and a group went there for homecoming, and it was terrible food and overpriced. The service was not friendly, nor helpful. My food was nasty and cold, and my dates good looked like it had crawled out of the black lagoon. The food was not only bad, but expensive and left my wallet quite a bit lighter. The entire experience was terrible, and I will never, ever go back voluntarily.

We were in Lafayette a little longer than expected due to the fact that my daughter got the flu and we didn't want to fly back to Cali with her having a high fever. It was my husband's 35th bday and I was really bummed that we weren't able to go all out so I called Bonefish and asked them if they could put together a little something special for him for dessert. They weren't too sure at first, I guess they don't get many requests for that sort of thing. My mom babysat our baby and Bonefish totally pulled off a very nice evening for us! He was surprised and they brought out the best dessert with a nice candle. No singing either... ( thanks!) The food was reallly good and their bang bang shrimp was crazy good. I was seriously craving it forever even after we left. Practically every table had an order of it. I was very thankful to the staff here for helping me pull off a nice bday for my husband.

Meh. If you are looking for swanky in Lafayette then this is your best bet, but don't go for the food. The menu is inspired (modern selections) but the execution is mediocre at best (my chicken was dry). The wait staff was courteous and professional. If this place was in a larger city like Houston it wouldn't make the cut but when looking for that certain yuppy... je ne sais quoi, I'll take what I can get in Lafayette.

The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The drinks are where you'll jack up your bill, but it's a nice place and worth the extra few bucks you'll spend. The outside tables are great for me because I like to smoke with my drinks.

The menu surprisingly diverse. The execution flawless. The service impeccable. And! I accidentally went on a Thursday night which while I was there I thought was unusually crowded but found out later that Thursdays at Bonefish is 'singles night.' I was dining with a colleague and we were simply enjoying the scenery and the overall experience. I will be back!

my first meal in lafayette, la. the service was attentive and the (fish tacos + potato chips) were very good. definitely above par for a meal at a cheesy "bar and grill" chain that tries too hard to look "authentic."

  • Linda S.

Good for a chain. The service sometimes annoys me. They tend to rush you, then you cannot find them when you're out of water or want to pay the check. It's loud, crowded, and often times attracts an obnoxious element. Food is consistently good, though not outstanding. They make a great martini.

Love Bonefish especially in the fall when Swordfish with pumpkin ravioli is featured. I try to find a BFG in every town I visit as I travel nationwide routinely. Everything went well my only surprise was I has to physically provide a credit card which they held until I cashed out. I did eat dinner at bar and being a 50 something single diner do not pose a flight risk. It must be the surrounding area?
