C'mon Man!!!! Had a burrito. It was meh. Not bad, but meh. Nothing all that eye catching on the menu worth mentioning. The food stayed the course the menu had set. The service echoed it all. WIll I return??? Meh!

I have to admit, not too bad for chain tex mex. Edible. Fish Tacos were ok and the chips greasy but crispy. Only reason why we went in was because we arent familiar with the area and Habana City was closed due to vacation... :-( so we missed out on Cuban. Will I go back to Agave? only if I don't have a choice.

People go here to drink... And I can see why you'd have to be drunk to think the food was good.. gross and incompetent service.

We went there for lunch and the food was very good. We weren't too impressed with service.

Sorry Yelp. I haven't been around for a while. I thought I was done, without the ability to be mean and snarky enough to be of value. Nope, I was wrong. Agave, you have inspired me. That may rank among the worst meals I have had. I will give Agave a star for service and another star for cold beer, but the food gets -1 star. First came the chips and salsa. The salsa was terribly bland and needed salt. I asked for hot sauce. All they had was Tabasco. I know I'm in Lafayette, but really? It's a "Mexican" restaurant . I ordered the fish tacos. They ran $15.95. They were served with generic Mexican rice and a small thing of beans. The tortillas were plain and of the grocery store variety. They weren't even warm. They were topped with soggy iceberg lettuce. They also had "pico" which consisted of a few unripe cubes of tomato, served on the taco, not the side. I really wanted guacamole, but

My department decided to go to Agave for our lunch on Friday, rather than one of our usual spots. The food was delicious, and our waiter was attentive without being smothering. It is quite possible that I'll return, haha, even if only for some more chemistry jokes. We had a funny waiter. :)

My overall opinion of Agave is ... Okay. I can't actually complain about the food, because it wasn't bad, it was just very underwhelming. No flavor, no effort, no care goes into the food. The margaritas taste like sugar water with cheap tequila. All in all, I won't be returning

Absolutely horrible service and food. The drinks were disgusting. Had to reorder my food twice because they got it wrong. Then the manager had the audacity to ask me what was wrong with me? He actually came to my table and said that maybe I'm the problem because I'm hard to please. I will never return here!

I have eaten at the downtown location for lunch many times, but upon arriving for lunch on a Sunday at this location I find out that the fish tacos that are quite affordable on the lunch menu are $15 on the non-lunch menu. Everything was so expensive and the waitress was in training so couldn't answer our questions about menu items. My wife and I couldn't find anything we liked for a decent price, so after paying almost $9! for the four soft drinks that were brought to us and the kids, we ended up leaving and finding another place to eat.

The service was quick and the food was hot. The Agave burger was really good. The burrito was just okay.

Can't tell you anything about the food-- the UNBELIEVABLE noise of the place drove us away before we were even waited on....and it was only a little over half full!! The relentless clamor, coupled with the unimaginative decor (sort of a mess hall ambience), is enough to keep us at bay.

I've always been a fan of the downtown location and this new spot did not disappoint. Food was the same great stuff, service was really good and food came out very quickly. Atmosphere was very cool and fun, HOWEVER it is SO LOUD in the big dining room. It's basically just one giant room with NO efforts to dampen sound. Love their chips and salsa. Love the corn and crab bisque. I think I had the seafood chimichanga, which was delicious. I'm loud anyway, and it's a fun kind of place, so I am definitely a fan. Rock on.

Came here for lunch today with my mom and sister. It was really busy, seemed to be a good sign. The chips they brought to our table were downright stale. The server was really sweet but really bad at being a server. I've done it before and its not hard to remember 3 orders and refill waters one freaking time during the meal. Our food came out all wrong and the guy who came out with our server to deliver the food was incredibly rude and basically accusing us of not knowning what we ordered when we could clearly see that the array of food on the tray was not what we ordered. He had an attitude of like, "How can it be wrong? This is what was on the ticket." They figured out the problem and then my mom had to wait several minutes for her order to come. It was still wrong but she ate it anyway. My mom is a saint. My sisters fish tacos had more ambiguous crispy pieces than fish pieces. The dressing that came with my taco salad tasted like mayo and candlewax. When my mom's bisque came to the table there was already a film on top like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for several minutes. Like the guy said in a previous review: MEH.

Words can't even begin to describe how terrible the food was.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
