They have a bigger menu compared to most vietnamese restaurants. Not many have Mi xao mem and that's what I was craving!! - Soda Chanh mua - Bf lovesss it! He wanted me to make sure I mentioned it in the review! lol - Fresh Orange Juice - Sour but it's fresh!! - Pho Tai Nam Bo Vien- It's not the best but still delicious. They are very generous with the meats? ( LOL bf said that didnt sound right but ya'll get me right?! ) - Mi Xau Mem - very salty but I like it! Def hit the spot Bill : $29

It was really good Pho. I got the extra large, and i had a full container to put in my fridge. (I am weird and don't mind soggy noodles the next day.) The staff was awesome. They were very attentive. Provided us extra sprouts when we asked. My husband, I and our roomate thoroughly enjoyed it. Plus they are open later than most pho places! We showed up at 8, and they don't close until 9!

I've been here twice once I ate in, and was craving it for a week then got it to go. It's been delicious both times and the workers are such sweethearts. Best Asian cuisine I've had in Kenner/Metairie.

I gave this place four stars because its consistent in service and food is good. (Not the BEST but consistently good) that's why I keep coming back.

Although I've only had the pleasure of experiencing this place once, I can vouch that it's a solid four stars on the vietnamese scale. My usual Pho hot spots are Pho Orchid and Pho Nola in Metairie but I wanted to travel a little further out of my way to experience some Kenner vietnamese favorites. We split an appetizer order of shrimp and pork spring rolls which where perfectly good just as they are at any other given vietnamese place (and it should be since it would be really hard to mess those up). I had the Bun Bo Hue and my dining companion had the same except he opted for the blood cake added to his. That's right....they actually ask when you get the spicy beef noodle soup if you want the blood cake in it or not. I was curious to try it but I figured I'd let my companion take one for the team so I could just just taste his the first time around. He ended up liking it pretty okay since it didn't taste "bloody" or "irony" or anything like you would expect something like "blood cake" to taste like. It almost tasted like a bit of tofu really as far as the consistency of it. So if you are wanting to experience a more authentic kick on a Bun Bo Hue than this is the place for you! Also, the broth of the Bun Bo Hue was MUCH more fragrant than the broth I've experienced at my other usual locations. I could taste a lot of lemongrass and spices that seemed more unique than what I was used to, which I appreciated. We also got Cappuccino and Mango Boba Teas. Both were excellent and I highly suggest either although cappuccino is certainly a flavor that I haven't seen many times as far as boba teas go so I felt compelled to have that one in particular. It was excellent. The atmosphere isn't anything special, but not many small vietnamese hole in the wall restaurants of that nature are. The service was very nice, only two young girls running the place but they did so very efficiently and smiled eagerly at us each time they passed our table. They were very eager to please and asked us just about 10 times if we needed anything else and if we were still enjoying our food. Perhaps because we were one of only two tables there on a Sunday at 11am (they open at 10am). After all, this was practically breakfast. I'd definitely go back again and try something different to see how it compares. I hear Pho Bang is the other big vietnamese pho competitor in the area, so I'm eager to make a few more vietnamese pilgramages to Kenner.

Great Pho, and awesome homemade lemonade.

Great Pho for being in Louisiana. Mix up some chili oil (by request) and soy sauce and use it for dipping some egg rolls (#7). The bomb.

Very good Pho Tái Nam. Well balanced flavor. Can't wait to visit again when I'm back in town.

The lady was so nice, the food was okay, but i feel a restaurant should smell like food and not cleaning chemicals.

Pho Sunrise provides a decent dining experience in a neighborhood filled with mostly uninspired cuisine. I wouldn't recommend you make plans to stop in, but if you are ever stuck waiting near the airport, this knocks the socks off food from the airport. I love pho. It is one of my favorite foods, and if we are going to have Vietnamese, you can count on me ordering a large bowl of pho, unless it's not my first trip to a Vietnamese restaurant that day. This time was no different. I ordered the Pho Tai Nam Gan Sach, XL for $8.75. Now the pho at Pho Sunrise was about average. The bowl comes out hot and steamy, which in addition to providing pleasing visuals and aromas, is important to "cook" the rare beef that it often comes with. The noodle soup is also served with a plate of fresh vegetables, which is customary. Pho Sunrise provided a plate of mung bean sprouts, fresh basil, cilantro, lime wedges, and jalepenos. I was pleasantly surprised by how fresh the veggies on the tray looked. Nothing was wilting, and it all looked very fresh (mung bean sprouts can wilt within a couple days, so kudos, for having fresh pickings). I tried a bit of the soup, which was satisfying, but I was disappointed as the broth was not very flavorful. IMO, great broth is the key to having a great bowl of pho. Though you can spice things up with sriracha, hoisin sauce, lime, etc, these are complementary and not a replacement for good savory broth. I just got water with my meal. Nothing wrong here, except the cups are HUGE. They were so big, that the straws doesn't go over the lip. Maybe they expect some thirsty folks coming in or want more time between refills? Despite the large cups, my server was quite nice and stop by my table a few times. As far as the restaurant, there was some decent décor inside that gave the place some character and some TV's on either side that also make waiting around a little easier. The bathroom did smell pretty funky, so that was a turnoff. Note: I currently live in Baton Rouge, but I was spending the day in NOLA before picking someone up from the airport later in the evening (a little after normal dinner time). Their flight was delayed so I drove for a short distance and found this place (I had seen it before, and made a mental note to try it if I was ever waiting by the airport).

The quality of the pho here varies depending on the day that I've been here. What's worse is when I ordered the extra large pho and got the same amount of broth as their regular bowl. When I asked for more broth to go with my noodles, they tried to charge me an additional $1 for a ladle of broth. I've never heard of something so ridiculous, especially when I've gotten free bowls of broth that come with rice dishes at other restaurants! Also, the other yelp comments about having to buy water is true. Any water you ask for has to be bottled water that you pay for additionally. In short, this place is all about getting your $$ and not about the quality of your food or your dining experience.

I had Pho Sunrise to-go tonight for the first time. Their prices are so affordable for the amount of food. I got meatless pho; while it was missing the usual bean sprouts, jalapeños, lemon, and thai basil, it had onions and cilantro instead and was equally as delicious as any pho I am used to. My cappuccino flavored bubble tea hit the spot, and the shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce was amazing, too. The workers are very sweet, and the restaurant appeared clean. Update 10/24/14: I had Pho Sunrise a week ago and the same meatless pho had bean sprouts, jalapeños, basil, and lemon and NOT onions and cilantro like the first time. Still delicious! Update 12/9/14: Ordered my usual meatless pho and got bean sprouts, jalapeños, basil, onions, lime, and cilantro... so a mix of the two previous times. Haha! Oh well...

Friendly. Clean. Great a/c. Lovely menu of drinks-boba tea, sodas, beer, iced coffee. Tried the pho--great flavor. The cilantro, basil, sprouts, peppers were very fresh. Table equipped with sriracha, hosin, soy and fish sauces. Five beautiful bonsai and a Buddha along with framed flower embroidery add to the ambiance. The American flag hangs in the corner- more immigrants living the dream. One of the better bowls of pho I've enjoyed. I'll be back to explore the menu.

I always love my trip here. Good food... Friendly staff... I'm sure some would point out that there's better pho to have in the city... But I like the people here..

Wow, this little hole in the wall on Vets near Williams was a great find. The spring rolls and soup were fresh and refreshing. My wife got the shrimp lo mein and I got the boneless chicken in ginger sauce. The food was very good. The service was quite friendly and the prices were very reasonable. I'm not often to frequent this part of town but when I do I'll be sure to return.

It is a bit of a hole in the wall kind of place, but the service was quick and friendly and the food was spot on delivered in a timely fashion. If your a fan of Boba teas (bubble teas) they have tons of flavors and I was super excited to get my avocado boba tea! Their prices are also reasonable for the Big Easy. Apps were under $5 and entrees under $9.

  • Pompo B.

Service was pretty slow with only two waitresses taking orders and making boba teas although the restaurant was almost empty. It's also really hard to communicate with them due to the very little English they speak. To the point that when they brought us our soups we weren't even sure which order was what and when asked the waitress she couldn't help either. Last but not least the FOOD was VERY GOOD, but unless you speak Vietnamese or know each dish on the menu it is very hard to pick what to get without being able to be assisted with questions. I would have rated a 4 star but the language barrier was a huge minus in my opinion.

  • hewie r.

Very good food. The waitresses don't speak very good English, so it can be difficult to order at times because they always want to try up sell you to buy more food. Their phó and boba are point and always have a football or sports game on. It seems like a hole in the wall type place, but it's clean and the food comes out quick.

  • Raphael M.

The food was really good. I've been here a dozen times for various reasons. Firstly, as far as Viet options in the city go, this place is definitely on the cheaper side. Second, the food comes out quicker than most places. I have been to many places and had to wait 15-20 minutes for my food to show up. But here, on a good day, appetizers out in 5, and entrees in after you're done with the apps. They must have a very efficient kitchen staff, because the food never tastes pre-prepared then overheated. Then, there's the cleanliness of the staff. When you're done with plates, they pick them up. They are very attentive and friendly. And the food, it's always so delicious. Their egg rolls and spring rolls taste vastly better than other places I've been to. The only down sides I see is that there's few tables, so it can get pretty full during rush hours; and that there's often only 2 waitresses, so they have to rush around tables and I bet they get overwhelmed.

This is probably the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant in the Kenner/Metairie area. The Bun Bo Hue actually had pork blood. Other places in the area don't. I'd definitely come back.

We found a dead whole Ant in our pho noodle soup. AN ANT!!!!!!!!!! It was huge too! On the bottom of the bowl. Just ewwwwww.......the waiter didn't even apologize, brought the half eaten soup back to the kitchen, and brought us the full check charging for the pho that had an ANT in it. Wow... Would never come back here and will give a negative star if I can. I'd report to the health administration. It was absolutely disgusting!

Our first time there we were skeptical about the food whether would be authentic Vietnamese or not. With first glance the prices were cheap/reasonable (for Vietnamese cuisine). Nowadays vietnamese restaurants have aimed towards catering for Americans but they end up losing sight on good food. When we ordered we were happy to see a wide variety of food besides your basic rice dishes and Pho. We ordered Bun Rieu Oc (tomato noodle soup with crab, shrimp, and snails), Bun Bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup), and com chien Dat biet (combination fried rice). The soups were great, better then other Vietnamese restaurants we've tried. It's authentic and reminds me of true Vietnamese home cooking. On top of that there was great. If you're iffy on the snails in the Bun Rieu they also serve it with only crab and shrimp. The bun Bo hue also had few different cuts of meat which provides variety. It also has your traditional jelly like cow's blood. If you're afraid of trying it ask for it without or if you're a little brave but not completely, have it on the side. The fried rice was still pretty good but the only downfall was that the rice was dry. I would definitely recommend this restaurant before any other Vietnamese. Will be coming back!!

I had to waste an hour on my Friday lunch break, and came across Pho Sunrise tucked away in a strip mall. I wouldn't say hidden, as their sign is obnoxious yellow/orange, but not something I would have noticed had I not been searching for a new food place to try. Anyway, the first thing I noticed was the pricing on the spring rolls. As others have mentioned, $2.95 for two. Awesome deal! Even though I didn't really *need* spring rolls, I decided to try an order of Tofu rolls and was not disappointed at all. In fact, I think next time, I may just get 2 orders of takeout Tofu spring rolls and call it a meal. This time, though, I also ordered the grilled pork bun. It was a huge serving (couldn't finish it after the spring rolls) but it was very, very good. With iced tea, I think my meal was about $12 pre-tip, so that's about on par with other Vietnamese restaurants in the city. I think for a budget lunch, the spring rolls are the way to go, though!

Absolutely Delicious!!!! My wife and I will be eating here often! Their combination beef soup was perfect!! My wife particularly enjoyed the Vietnamese egg rolls. The staff is friendly and the service was swift. Thank you Pho Sunrise!!

A good local Vietnamese restaurant. Looks like your typical small-town diner on the inside, like they should be serving chicken fried steak instead of pho. Don't let that fool you.

We accidentally came across this place last week (I have accidentally been spending too much time in Kenner) and it was a pleasant surprise. To start, $2.95 for two spring rolls can't be beat! We tried the grilled pork variety and they were very flavorful! My partner also ordered the grill pork bun (big surprise), she was pleased, and I had the lemongrass beef bun (as a change of pace) and thought it was a little too saucy for my taste. It is clean, reasonably priced and the service was pleasant and efficient. I would be happy to try it again if we were in the area.

Looking to fuel up after a grueling workout. I ordered the grilled pork spring rolls, pho tai nam and grilled pork rice plate. I didn't come to this joint for the ambiance or the DJ spinning EDM, I came for the foodgasm. What I did find was quality soul food, service was prompt and friendly and I may have only taken one breath during the meal, which explains why I was blacking in and out of consciousness. I'll be back when I am thru town for business.

Listen up, Pho T & Q customers... Pho Sunrise is the new business name and it's under different management. What remains the same is the quality of the dishes! From my review on Pho T & Q: "The interior is not much to write home about, but you come to these types of places for the food, and the food only, making it a great spot for lunch or a low key dinner. Bring an appetite. It's cheap, delicious and the portions are huge. A visit to a Vietnamese restaurant isn't complete without one of my favorite things in the world to eat and that's veggie spring rolls. Pho T&Q's are 2 to an order and 2.95. Insane, right? They are standard, served up with the sauces that make 'em as spicy/salty/tasty as you wish. I also had a vat, I mean a giant bowl, of vermicelli noodles with lemongrass tofu. This is the only vegetarian entree on the menu that I could find, but seriously, it's the only entree I'd ever need. One of the things I love most about Vietnamese food is how clean and fresh everything is. A dish like this is begging for you to dress it up with peanut sauce, spicy black bean sauce, Sri Racha and soy sauce. It's like salad and a noodle dish all in one glorious bowl. They don't skimp on the tofu, either." I ordered the same dishes, veg spring rolls and lemongrass tofu bun and both were just as awesome as I remember them. The staff is really nice. The ambiance could still stand some sprucing... but like I said before, the food is what you come here for. And at least they have vegetarian options, unlike Pho King down the block!

A neat, clean little place serving authentic Vietnamese cuisine at reasonable prices. Service is fast and friendly and the menu contains all the classic appetizers and dishes. When exploring a new restaurant, I will always try the Phó because I believe good broth is a hallmark of great vietnamese cuisine and this one did not disappoint. The spring and egg rolls were also above par. I will definitely return to Phó Sunrise the next time I am in this area. "Life's too short for bland food, bad wine, weak coffee or cheap whiskey." RS

This place is awesome, went for dinner last night. I got just the regular pho but it was amazing. We also ordered some spring rolls which were delicious. The waitress was super nice. In fact, it was so good, that I went back this morning and got two more orders to go. It's super clean, not too busy, etc. basically - if you want some delicious pho, you should go.

The place is clean and roomy. The food was okay, not great. They had the typical dishes like rice, pho, spring rolls, eggs rolls (way under cooked!), etc. The service was super slow. They only had one lady running back and forth during lunch period. It didn't get crowded (weekday from 12:00-1:30ish).

A casual, unpretentious, inexpensive, and clean restaurant in Kenner, on Veteran's near Williams Blvd., serving delicious Vietnamese food. For appetizers we ordered shrimp spring rolls and also an order of tofu spring rolls. Those came with a delicious sweetened peanut sauce. I ordered Pho with beef and tendons to which I added fresh vegetables, bean sprouts, mint leaves, and Thai basil leaves, lemon wedge, and jalapeno peppers that came on a separate plate. The pho's flavorful broth had a hint of star anise. Yum! My spouse orderd his favorite, grilled pork with rice noodles. He loved it! He also ordered Vietnamese iced coffee, strongly brewed coffee with sweetened condensed milk that he enjoyed immensely. The staff was very friendly and willing to explain the menu. It's on our repeat restaurant list. TRY IT, YOU'LL LIKE IT!

Excellent pho. Went in just before closing and wasn't rushed or treated badly. Quality food at a clean place with friendly staff, what else could you ask for. I'll be back.
