Owned by some of the best people in the New Orleans area. I have always been impressed with their restaurants as they have owned and run many in the city since I was a child. The change in name to Coco Bamboo is a throwback to their home country of Brazil. Good wholesome pizza and numerous other dishes round out a very full menu. Make sure you stop in to eat and chat with the owners if you have the opportunity.

Ordered a BBQ chicken pizza and a mango smoothie for delivery. The delivery driver dropped my smoothie on the ground by accident and promptly went back to. Get a replacement however i wish he had not now ..the smoothie taste like they blended under-ripe mangoes with ice cream and nonfat cream it was a pretty bad smoothie. However the pizza i got was above par when i comes to pizza in Jefferson and everything tasted fresh and delicious.

Tried the 5 cheese pizza & cannibal stromboli on a Groupon. YUM! We ordered take-out, but found out GrubHub delivers for free to Harahan! Will definitely order again.

They have the best cheese pizza I have ever eaten, and they have an asparagus and artichoke salad is that superb! In a marriage of a carnivore (me) and a vegetarian (my wife) it's often difficult to agree on places to eat, especially when sharing items. Here I don't mind at all. The reason I give 3 stars is because the service isn't that great and the last time we went I got a supreme pizza and it wasn't as good as the 4 cheese pizza.

Okay, so 2 stars only. Why? Because I have indeed experienced better and it's very unlikely that I will order from Coco Bamboo again. There are better pizza places in town. Here's the low down: My first order for delivery months ago went quite well. While the food wasn't outstanding, it arrived on time and I even got a complimentary salad with my first order. Yesterday, different picture altogether. Ordered a Luau (as in Hawaiian Pizza). Nothing special. Estimated delivery time: over an hour. When the pizza finally arrived, I had to spend around 15 minutes on the front porch with the delivery girl while she was trying to process the credit card payment, which we eventually had to do over the phone since their system had backed up batches to process and wouldn't take any more credit card payments. I should probably mention that I got an 'extra' Luau sandwich since my pizza order had initially been processed as a sandwich order, so I got the sandwich delivered together with the pizza I had ordered. While I appreciated the courtesy gesture, I had no idea at that point what unpleasant surprise I was in for. When I opened the pizza box I almost screamed. And not in awe. The pizza, or more so the toppings, were some lopsided undefinable mash, and parts of the pizza were completely soggy. The not so soggy parts were of some rubber-like consistency that immediately reminded me of the recent discussions about yoga mats in connection with certain food... Same goes for the Luau sandwich. Needless to say that I was absolutely not thrilled. Especially not since I was really hungry, alas left with this mess and no dinner. Despite the friendly response when I called this in, I was not into waiting another hour to get another pizza that may or may not turn out okay. So I was told that my credit card payment would be credited. Okay then. Oh, wait. A little later I get a voice mail, saying that unfortunately they have not been able to cancel the payment, and were asking to credit the charged amount to the next order. Oh, yea? Ya think there will be another order? Me thinks not. Back to Reginelli's. Sorry Coco Bamboo. You did not attain a spot on my fridge. And if you can't figure out how to cancel that payment, I will simply dispute the charge. No problem.

Oh my god!! This place is sooo good. I tried the ITALIAN DREAM 14' it was awesome. The toppings were premium and fresh. I love cheese and the cheese on the pizza was delish. I could taste each topping individually. Which made every bite perfect. Prices are fair considering the quality you get. Average time for pick up 20-35 minutes.

Ordered the food for delivery, got it two hours later. All lukewarm, no apologies. Ordered chicken and shrimp Alfredo. It came with no chicken, and the shrimp was not deveined. Maybe it's only where I come from but restaurants are supposed to clean the shrimp before serving it to you! Pizza was cold need I say more?! It's too bad because I'm in town for the next several weeks and this place is really convenient to where I'm staying however, I will never go there or order from there again and I would discourage anyone who asked me if they should go there.

I've been here a couple of times so I want y'all to know this review is not biased. The food is good the service isn't. I ordered the Large Avocado and Asparagus salad with chicken ($9.75 + $2.50) Crispy Romaine lettuce, asparagus, avocados, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, kalamata olives with Coco Bamboo dressing and pita bread on the side. My coworker ordered a 10" pepperoni pizza ($8.75). We ordered before right before 12 and wanted delivery because we were being lazy. I was told the food would be here in 20-25 minutes and was stoked.. I waited about 30 mins and called to ask if the food left, and was told it wouldn't leave for another 20-25 minutes. I then asked if the food was already made and was told yes.. (gross!). I was then told that delivery usually takes 45-60 minutes and that I was wrong when I said the person answering the phone said 20-25 minutes. I asked if the pizza was cold and was told it wasn't (it was) and I said fine I'm on my way to pick up the food. My food had been sitting for at least 30 minutes by the time I got there (almost 1 pm) and the restaurant was EMPTY. The pizza was cold (as expected) and my salad was decent. Do NOT use their delivery service. My co-worker said the pizza was good once she heated it up .... the salad was decent.

My experience at Coco Bamboo was...strange. When our table of seven arrived post Sunday church service, the place was empty. Therefore, you would think the staff would be ready to seat us, provide us with menus, and inform us of any specials. None of those happened and getting our simple drink orders (waters and teas) took a really long time. Again, we were the only table in the establishment. The waiter was "out of it" the entire time. The way he took our order, served us, and checked on us throughout the meal was totally bizarre. The food was okay, but I don't think anything was from scratch or fresh. Nothing memorable about the meal, that's for sure. Like two stars implies, "meh. I've experienced better."

The pizza is great taste very true to its ingredients even after a day you can put it in the oven and it taste just as good or better as it was first made.

The pizza is tasty but the service is very slow and the menu prices are not clear. Even with a groupon, this restaurant is no bargain.

Coco Bamboo is an unknown gem. They're pizza is our favorite & my husband & I order from there regularly. My personal favorite is the Greek pizza on wheat add Kalamata olives. My husband always eats they're cheese & pepperoni pizza with black olives & onions. They have lots of unique options or you can build your own. I've also had their salads before & they are pretty good as well. But, the pizza is the best. The delivery usually takes an hour so plan ahead. But, you can always order & pick it up in half the time. My husband loves to go there to eat during the soccer games. They're pretty packed when international soccer is playing.

My go-to for delivery pizza in River Ridge! Their prices are great and delivery prompt. Oh yea, the pizza is always perfect. Don't pass this one up! Thanks Coco Bamboo's. I can't ever get over how funky fresh the name is.

The food is great! My personal favorite is the pizza napoletana with whole wheat. You can get it in all different sizes... from as small as 8 in up to a huge 20 in. I also love their salads with all kinds of exotic ingredients like cantaloupe, avocado, tangerines, walnuts, asparagus, etc. Must try it.

I stopped in to pick up a Pepperoni pizza and it was delicious. Super cheesy, which I love and we had about a 20 minute drive or so, and when we finally sat down to eat, it was still piping hot! While there was a brief wait, due to the upcoming Brazilian football (yes, I mean soccer) game. The owners are Brazilian and were expecting a large crowd to come in and watch the game. There is a full service bar, which led me to believe this would be a good place to catch a game (even something other than soccer) or a fight, so keep it in mind if you're in the Jefferson area. I picked this place for my pizza order because it was located half way between my house and my date's house, so not sure when I will get a chance to dine in, but I will definitely make an effort to do so....the reasoning is the selection of pizzas. They have a build-your-pizza with a plethora of toppings and traditional pizza offerings (obviously, I ordered pepperoni), however, they have pizzas I have never heard of or seen on a menu, so that was interesting. Plus, Coco Bamboo is a cool name. If someone told me, let's grab a bite at Coco Bamboo, I would expect to be drinking out of coconut and eating jerked chicken with peas and rice. However, I'll take pizza any day!

Stopped by today, my second visit to Coco Bamboo. The first time I came, I was there with a Groupon voucher - which was a great deal, because this place is excellent. I've now had their pizza (the Italian Dream - beware of errant salivations and impending heart attack), salad, Stromboli, and focaccia (both times, GREAT deal and very tasty). Impressed with everything. Very nice staff, comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. Even without the Groupon, the prices range from reasonable to undercharged. If you have a chance, try this place.

Called. Busy? Yes, maybe a table. Arrived. Empty, dirty tables everywhere, no clearing at all. Long wait for service. Warm greeting. Order. 45 minutes wait. No food. Ask. Just coming out. Wait 15 minutes. Just coming out. Meatball sandwich, mediocre. Tropical wrap (with strawberries) very tasty. Extra deserts in apology. Not enough for 2 hours for a sandwich.

I have been here a handful of times this year and it has become one of my favorite pizza spots! Absolutely love the Coco Loco pizza. It's got everything under the sun on this pizza. Bacon, pepperoni, ham. Shall I go on. Ok. It also has ground beef, chicken, mushrooms, spinach, and a few more toppings. Overkill (maybe). I am a meat lover so the more the merrier. Their Margarita pizza and Greek pizza are very good too. They also have pasta choices for $11.75 which include a very good lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs. Or you can try one of their wraps or sandwiches. My fave sandwich is their Voodoo House sandwich (grilled shrimp or chicken with onions and melted cheese). It is delicious and always hits the spot for me. A little-known place off the beaten path but worth the visit. Fresh ingredients, great food, and a super staff!

Delicious food! We came here with a large group late at night with lots of kids, and they made us feel at home. You must try the focaccia di cipolla! The pizzas were huge and scrumptious, and the prices were so reasonable! Make sure to ask for the Brazilian drink!

Overall I enjoyed Coco Bamboo and would go back. The pizza was pleasant, but as other reviewers noted the crust wasn't quite crisp enough. I had a stromboli which was huge and tasty. I second the other yelper who mentioned that everything was better after being reheated in the oven. I did just that three times with my leftover stromboli! My party also enjoyed the salads which were plentiful and delicious.

Coco Bamboo is a great neighborhood pizza place. Its not the absolute best pizza in the world but it is very good. The ingredients are fresh, high quality and the cheese is real mozzarella. The crust could be cooked a couple minutes longer. When ever we reheat the pizza the next day, its always better. I really like the hot wings and I normally don't care for wings. The BBQ and the Hot are fantastic! Give it a try and I doubt you will be disappointed. The prices aren't bad. The restaurant itself is nice and has a tropical feel. I have been twice and will go again.

Crowded the first weekend but staff is great and food was good. Service was a little slow but it was the first weekend. I am looking forward to sitting out on the porch when it gets a little warmer.

Really delicious pizza! Got the Greek pizza and it was insanely good. Everything tasted fresh and hot. I will definitely be ordering and visit this pizza place often.

Dissapointingly, I have to say this was one of the worst meals I have been served. I ordered selivery throufh the GrubHub app, and sincerely regret it. I ordered Lasagna, which was literally below room temperature and essentially a brick of cold cheese. I ordered wings which were disgustingly rubbery, barely room temperature, and extremely chewy as if microwaved. I ordered a can of Dr. Pepper, which was not included with my order despite paying the $2. My side salad was actually pretty delicious, and ended up being the only palatable item I received. If a restaurant doesn't care about executing delivery orders, they should just not do it. If you don't want to deliver food to me, then just don't make it an option. To pay for such a half-assed meal is insulting, I'd prefer to just be told no. There is no hyperbole in this review, and I am the easiest person on earth to please; just give me something resembling what I paid for. I will never order from this place again, let alone step inside of it. You got my $35 once, Coco Bamboo, never again.

They used to have the best pizza around, but the last 2 times we ordered, it was so nasty. Grease running off of the top and the cheese is different than before.

    (3)
  • Charles C.

Took about a hour and forty five minutes to get here because they had to call a driver to deliver it. The cheese sticks tasted like they just microwaved them instead of frying them. Even just paying them was difficult. First time in a long time I ordered from them and will never order from them again. AVOID!!

This is our neighborhood little quiet and happy place to just come and chill out and be super super waited on and cared for. The food is outstandingly unique and the salads are creative. Nothing fancy and perfectly good food and reasonable prices. Highly recommend the wraps... We love coming here each and every time!

I ordered delivery from them and they never showed up. When I called back they said they were just too busy and too bad. I refuse to ever support this business again. Terrible customer service.

Best. Pizza. If you love pizza, you go to Coco Bamboo. It's cheesy, fresh, and ultimately delicious. Don't go if you're in a major rush bc the family who runs the restaurant does it ALL. Who wants to rush a family style lunch or dinner anyway? I've had several of their pizzas and they are all amazing, however they NAIL the classic pepperoni!! You can't go wrong. From their salads, to their eggplant stack, and of course pizza... They just do it right!

My wife and I thought we ordered the Muffaletta pie and got Tiki's Supreme and it was delicious. This error will cause me to order again next week.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
