Once again, Yelp saved me from a mediocre lunch. On the way to visit my family I was starving. I checked Yelp thinking there was no way I'd find anything. Houma is a very small town. Not many active Yelpers there. I was surprised to see my friend Joel had reviewed this little place. Sure, it only had two reviews, but I know if Joel gave it five stars it had to be special. It was. Bayou Blue PO Boys is probably Houma's best kept secret. I visit very often and had never even heard of it. It's small and unassuming. You wouldn't even notice it if you weren't looking for it. But you should be looking for it. I had a roast beef poboy and a crawfish pie. Umm. Yum. That poboy was sooooo good. I intended to split it with my sister but ate the whole thing myself. Oops. I was stuffed afterwards so I saved the crawfish pie and had it for dinner. If something you order at noon and reheat at six is still oh my goodness sooo freaking good...that's saying something. Thanks Yelp, thanks Joel and thanks Bayou Blue PO Boys. I've got a new favorite place to eat when I'm in the swamps of Houma. Yay!

The best thing here is the roast beef po boy. It's a sloppy messy deliciousness that will keep you coming back to stain up your clothes. I've tried just about every one of their po boys and it's by far what keeps people coming back.They have a really good oyster po boy as well. Their sides; onion rings, boudin balls, meat/crawfish pies, etc. are okay but not the best. The onion rings are a huge portion and are easily enough for a few people. They have soft shell crab that looks pretty good, but I've never had it. It can get pretty packed some times and the wait can be a bit ridiculous at times.

Best roast beef poboy I ever had!!! Hot sausage poboy was wonderful and the poboy bread used is great.. Very nice people and great poboys. ..Houma 's secret... will be back !!!!

I have fallen in love with this tiny little joint after just one stop in...Much props to Angelique R. for bringing me here.... The roast beef po boy was the freakin' BEST!! Messy but worth it!! And it is HUGE and costs less than $8... Limited hours from 10:30 to 2:30, I think...cramped with 4 booths and approximately 5 tables but who really cares cause that damn Roast Beef po boy is so damn tasty!! If you find yourself in Houma and are hungry point your appetite in the direction of Bayou Blue and get it satisfied!! As Frank the Tank from "Old School" might say, You're my po boy, Blue!

Now this place serves up a proper roast beef po-boy. I visit this place every time i'm in town. I haven't ever ordered any other kind of po boy except roast beef so I can't comment on the other styles.. They also serve meat pies, crawfish and regular meat. I ordered 1 of each . The crawfish wasn't good and the meat pie ?well, I got another crawfish .I could have said something and I'm sure they would have gladly made the right one but I was in a rush to leave and didn't have time to complain or wait around. The place is small and the hours have changed . They are now open till 5:00 PM..
