Brisket was ok at best. Baked potato was as tough as leather. Counter staff was pretty awful in an idiotic, teenager way. All the booths needed bussing. Won't be returning... Off to the crapper.

Got this Togo. Wasn't too impressed. Got a pulled pork sandwich and it was really small. They forgot to give us our drinks and gave us a random piece of garlic bread? Weird. The lady on the phone who took our order was very rude and unknowledgable.

Ordered take out from here before. The shrimp po boy barely had any shrimp. It's was quite skimpy. This place is not for me.

Consistent in food quality and flavor. I have visited several times with the family. We prefer to arrive at sunset and sit outside.

Don't be fooled by the name, nothing here is real BBQ. I ordered a pulled pork/jerk chicken plate because the cashier happily recommended the jerk chicken (5 stars for the attitude! YOU GO GIRL!) Anyways I was shocked at how FAST the food came out (shoulda been a red flag tbh). I was also surprised at the lack of sauce BUT there are three sauces on the table that you can use. Mango Tabasco: I just love when people put mango in things! However it had too much vinegar for my taste. Mojo: Definitely my favorite, a jerk style sauce that I ended up drowning everything in lol. Cane Vinegar: Tastes just like it sounds lol. It's sweet with a nice twang of vinegar. The actual meat itself has NO flavor, the jerk chicken didn't taste jerked it just tasted like a jerk! The same applies to the pulled pork. The temperatures weren't on point. The only thing on my plate that was around the right temp was the potato salad. Mac N Cheese COLD! Meats LUKEWARM! Cmon guys if I wanted flavorless meat that I have to drown BBQ sauce in anyways I woulda stayed at home and saved my hard earned cash LOL (I'm pretty sure that I could have done it better)! Seriously though the meal cost around 14 dollars for cafeteria quality food. Another thing that surprised me was the styrofoam plates and plastic cutlery. Not sure how to feel about that lol. I wouldn't come here unless you miss high school lunches and are willing to pay a pretty penny for it.

Although the food is great the cashier was not old enough to ring up an alcoholic beverage during dinner time and noone was in the resteraunt that could. I feel that is very poor when people come to spend money in your establishment and you have beer in a self serve bin on ice as you walk in....... Will not return for this reason alone.

Ok so we ordered ribs and pulled pork, they didn't have ribs but didn't find out till 15mins after we placed our order. The potato salad wasn't one...it was a chopped up baked potato with sour cream and chives stirred up and at room temp. The baked beans weren't all that great, had to mix it the Mac-n-cheese to finish most of them. Mac-n-cheese was the best part of our dinner. Wouldn't recommend this place, heard others tell me not to come but thought they were exaggerating..I was wrong

Not sure what happened since I last ate here (it has been a while) but I'm pretty disappointed. I wanted to enjoy the brisket but I found it to be dry and lacking any kind of flavor until covered with sauce. The greens however were pretty tasty, but that alone won't bring me back.

I don't know why so many give this place bad reviews- but mine is on the food alone: A+. Mine was take out, pulled pork sandwiches, Mac n cheese, and sweet potato soufflés. Wonderful :). My husband got the same also with the Gris Gris greens- he said they "rocked". So there's that- we will go back without question.

Hair in my food! Nothing more to say. Very disappointing. I've eaten at other Voodoo locations in the New Orleans area and have always enjoyed the experience. But after three visits to this Harvey location, it's been very disappointing. Location is great. Service is not bad. It's just the food. Weak.

We had been wanting to try this place for a while now but because of its location we always forget about it.. Anyways, with todays bad weather we ventured out & headed there. The staff was immediately super friendly! Hellos as soon as we walked through the door. I ordered the street car (a dressed burger) mac n cheese & a bowl of chili. My husband ordered the bourbon st burger (a dressed burger with bacon and bbq sauce). He also had fries & gumbo. Our toddler had the kids meal chicken tenders with fries. The total came to about $37, butThere was more than enough food. my husbandate most of his, but I left almost half a burger & brought home some of my mac n cheese. The kids meal was way more food than I had ever thought. I honestly thought it was comparable to adult portions. Overall, the drink cups are cool, and the food is decent. I personally loved the chili. I felt my burger was a little to greasy for my liking but when I mentioned it to my husband he gave me this look like "dont you dare say anything bad about this place." The place was definitely welcoming..I loved the decor & the bathroom (at least the womens) was VERY clean. I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness. We were a little confused about how the service worked once you were seated.. its somewhere between eating inside a fast food restaurant & casual dining.. we had a serve come by occasionally & ask if we needed anything, but we were also able to get our drinks ourselves.. Either way, he was nice and we left a tip just to be on the safe side.

My husband brought me here today for Mother's Day, because I've been missing my favorite barbecue place back home. While the food wasn't outright bad, it wasn't great, either. My husband wanted us to try miltiple dishes, so he ordered the combo with 1/2 rack of ribs and 1/2 pound of pulled pork, fries, veggies, and garlic bread, I opted for the combo with sausage and brisket, while my son picked a hot dog with mac and cheese (He's 5, give him a break!). My son inhaled his dog, mac, and ice cream, he qas quite pleased. He also stole half of my sausage and a couple of my husband's ribs. Yay, he ate outside of the house! Lol We adults, however, were not as jubilant about our food. The ribs were tender, falling off the bone, and juicy, but there was no noticable smoke ring, and you couldn't taste any smoke. There may have been a shy application of dry rub, but I got hardly any mkre flavlr than that of plain pork. The sausage was good, peppery and juicy, not too shabby. The pulled pork wasn't bad, again, it was very tender and juicy, but nkt a lot of smoke or flavor. Then there was the brisket, and I was sad. In my entire Texan life of eating brisket, I have not once encountered dry meat. Until today. It was cotton ball dry. I dipped it in some of the sauce at the table, which helped some, but then I had to decide between dry beef or sauce I didn't care for. There was again the faintest of smoke rings and no flavor. The man's fries and steamed veg were typical, nothing special. The prices were a bit high for such substandard food. My husband's meal cost just under $17, not including the almost $4 it cost for the paultry helpings of sides (And, honestly, garlic bread and barbecue don't mix. Give me a big slice of lightly buttered Texas toast with my meat). All together we paud $40 for food that didn't leave me satisfied. I was full, as the portions are descent, but if I'm paying $40, I want flavor, and also to not be eating off plastic, but maybe I'm just too picky. Another tip, I don't know how Louisianans like their barbecue, but pickles and raw onions are perfect accompaniments, and I missed them. Overall, it wasn't the worst food in the world, but I won't be back. I wish my husband would have let me pick where to go, I would have chosen Thai. Oh well, we had a nice time together, and ultimately, that's what matters.

Get the brisket or ribs! I've been here several times and the food always been good. You stand in line order your food and then wait. They'll bring it to your table.

If your employer is buying everyone lunch one day and it happens to be from this place. Do yourself a favor and call in sick that day! That's right folks I actually had BBQ from this establishment. Bear in mind this review is solely based on the food. My employer bought all of us at work some BBQ one day. Well this BBQ happened to be from Voodoo. The pulled pork was dried out and very bland, The beef brisket was absolutely flavorless, the smoked sausage was tough and chewy, the potato salad tasted more like a baked potato than a traditional salad. I will however admit that the collard greens were very good. The bread pudding was good but the consistency was wrong, it wasn't cooked well enough and way too mushy to suit me. In short this place is a testament to why New Orleans and BBQ never mix!

Being from Alabama, as well as having been a barbecue cook myself, I know good BBQ... and this is NOT it. I decided to call in an order to the Manhattan store in Harvey because I hadn't had any BBQ in LA since moving down last month. I decided to order my girlfriend and I each a brisket topped loaded baked potato, and some macaroni and cheese. The girl who took my call informed me that it would be a little extra time for the potatoes to be finished. I said that was fine, we didn't mind, and was told my order would be available for pickup in 15 minutes. I picked up the order, got it home, and could not have been more disappointed. The brisket was dry and pretty much flavorless, it looked like some over microwaved frozen garbage. I decide to work through the crummy brisket in hopes that the loaded baked potato would be more satisfying... I was wrong. One inch into the potato I realized that it was only about 40% cooked, and couldn't be farther from loaded. After actually cooking the potatoes the rest of the way in my own microwave, I picked at what was at least somewhat palatable and subsequently gave up. We decided to give the mac & cheese a try. I don't know why I thought it would be any better. It also tasted like some prepackaged microwaved and stirred-up processed garbage. This has got to be one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten from in the entire state of Louisiana, and maybe just about anywhere! I would not recommend this place to any person, and would actually go is far as to tell people NOT to go there.
