I was visiting home and wanted something different for dinner. No burger, fried chicken or etc. I found The Spud Spot intriguing and wanted to give it a try. I had the Crab Spud. The Crab meat was all lump and had the classic crab boil spiciness. It was fantastic. My fiancé tried the chili spud. She immediately informed me how good it was. I had a bite of her spud and agreed. I wish we lived in the area to frequent The Spud Spot more. The restaurant is basically a To-Go only place with 3-4 tables. We took our Spuds home and were very pleased. It was fantastic comfort food. Loved every bite. May head back there tonight!

Comfortable atmosphere and great seafood potatoes. Today, my mother visited for the first time and fell in love with the extensive baked potato menu.

My husband and I decided to try this place for take out. The food was alright, I had a potato and the husband a sandwich. I would go there again, and the portion sizes are generous.

We tried the Spud Spot while in NOLA prior to a cruise. We had just spent the day touring plantations and swamps, and were exhausted. We saw it by our hotel and decided to give it a try. I just got a loaded potato, and my husband got one with BBQ. They were delicious! But the party of the meal was the fried pickles!! Some of the best we have ever tried. We will definitely go here again if we are ever back in the area.

DISCLAIMER: This really should be 2 and 1/2 stars, since it didn't quite make 3, so I rounded down, since we can't choose 2 1/2 stars. The kiddo and I went here for dinner tonight and it was different, but it wasn't bad. My kiddo had the Catfish Monica spud ($10.99), and she chose poorly, not liking the Monica sauce, but I had the Veggie and Meat spud ($8.99) which was actually quite tasty. We weren't sure that the potato was going to be enough for dinner so the kiddo opted to add a hot dog ($2.99 + .40 for cheese) and I opted to add a hamburger ($6.99 +.50 for cheese - go figure why) both came with fries, and she definitely got the better end of the deal. My hamburger was so bad, it made Mickey D's look like 5 star cuisine in comparison. I did not eat it and the server/manager (maybe) snatched it away from me and threw it out and walked away after I complained. They made no effort to refund my money on that, so I had to force the issue and ask for it back. She (the server/manager (maybe)) had to call someone because it had been so long since she had done a refund she didn't know how to do it. She also tried to discourage me asking for a refund stating it would take 8 to 10 days for the refund to show up on my card...she said that about 4 times and I was like ok...I got it the first time around. The final tally on the refund was $8.15, so it wasn't a paltry sum. With the refund out of the way I went back for the star of my meal, the potato. While the potato itself was cooked perfectly, along with the veggies (broccoli and cauliflower) I felt that the turkey portion (the meat I opted for) far overwhelmed the veggies. I got two sprigs of broccoli and two cauliflower florets for the entirety of this gargantuan potato, and that was VERY disappointing, considering I was looking forward to the vegetables. I brought my own butter with me and I'm glad I did, the sign very clearly stated that ALL potatoes were served with margarine. I ordered mine without. I wanted to stay and eat some more of my potato, but the kiddo was dissatisfied with her choice and was ready to go. I closed up the remainder of my potato for the ride home and dropped it in the fridge for a midnight snack later on tonight :). Everything was served in Styrofoam containers and that was a bit of a turn off for me, since we were eating in the restaurant, I would like to have seen something a little more amenable, I mean we looked like beggars in from the street digging in the assorted boxes and bags, plastic silverware, packets of ketchup, salt strewn about. At the end of the day, $30.93 for dinner at a spud spot seems a tad extreme (this includes my refund, actual full total was $39.08) so I'm not sure if this warrants a return visit or not, but MAYBE.

Wonderful food and a large menu of all awesome potatoes. Service was quick and I believe I found my new favorite place to get a quick bite. They also offer burgers and other food items as well. You can eat in a small dinner feel or order takeout as well. 5 stars from me!

At first I was like, "Why are we having potatoes for lunch?" But boy oh boy was this lunch delish! You can sub for the sweet potato version if they have any in stock if you're into the healthier stuff. From the potato choices, you can either have the half or full version. I had the crawfish potato while my friend had the meat & cheese. With his option, you can choose your meat and cheese. I believe he chose ham as his meat, but I am unsure of his cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, and Swiss?). Cheese is cheese at this point once it's loaded onto a potato full of other stuff. lol. My crawfish potato was delicious as heck! It was smothered in margarine, cheese, and other unhealthy flavors. His was a bit more dry, but pretty good as it was more on the normal side of what a potato should be. There are also snowballs as dessert if your stomach can hold anymore food. The staff was sweet, cordial, and friendly. This was a small place to sit and eat, but it could hold about 15 folks? Parking was plentiful since this was in a complex so no worries about this aspect.

The food here is pretty awesome! I just didn't expect the dat Cajun spud to be that spicy. Other then that the potato is cooked to perfection and topped with many selections. I loved that they had snowballs there. Which was nice to wash down my spicy meal. I've been here a couple of times but there's still a bunch of stuff I haven't tried yet.

Not very consistent. The spuds are a hit or miss in my opinion. My last visit was a disappointment because my spud was swimming in oil and overly seasoned. I got their special "Dat Cajun" spud (which I've had another time and it was awesome) but it was so salty this time that I had trouble finishing it. I think someone in the kitchen just went overboard on the butter and Cajun seasoning. I do, however, really like their roast beef spud. Prices are on the high side for baked potatoes.

Delicious and so many tastes to choose from. Impossible to go away hungry. "Snowball" for dessert is like Matsumoto's Hawaiian shave ice

We came across The Spud Spot by accident, but were pleased with our meal! It was different, which is nice. My seven year old loved his Pizza Potato! I enjoyed the Cajun Potato! We did wait for a little while to order, though (reason for the 4 stars vs 5). They prepared us a separate side of grilled chicken for our food allergy ridden one year old, which was awesome! Oh, and a year round snowball menu, YEAH!

So far the counter lady was rude and doing everything but making our drinks while I stand waiting the phone is more important than the customers in front of their face I guess Nothing like like spuds out in Metairie not even close to the service and food out there Don't waste your time in traffic on manhattan for this garbage

On vacation from San Antonio,TX and I must say the spud was amazing. We don't have anything like this back home and the service was just as great. Will definitely make this a must eat spot on the next trip back.

This place is what it says. A place to get a good, large baked potato. Other than Spudly's, I don't know that there is anywhere else around. They have at least 25 selections, but I've only tried the Traditional (cheese, bacon, sour cream), which was good. I've also had their shrimp and roast beef po-boys and both were actually pretty good. I don't think you can get a better po-boy on that stretch of Manhattan (the commercial street it's located on). They also have snoballs. Remember it's a potato place in a strip mall across from Target so don't go here if you're looking for atmosphere or some type of fine dining experience, but if you want a baked potato with choice of toppings this place will do just fine.

I love baked potatoes, and I like this place a lot. The potatoes are big and stuffed really full. I like the shrimp potato, the chili cheese potato, and the veggie potato. Honestly, the entire menu looks delicious, but I haven't tried the whole thing. If you care at all about your health, I recommend getting light or no margarine. Before I started asking for no margarine, I hated to see my delicious potato swimming in liquid fat. Unless you specifically want margarine, you don't even need it! The toppings have enough flavor, and I don't miss it at all. The employees are a bit hit or miss. Some are really nice and friendly, and some are questionable. A few times I've had to listen to employees discuss the latest drama in their lives, which wasn't appetizing. The owner is really nice, and obviously cares about his business. There is limited seating inside, but I've always been able to get a seat. It's also decorated with various Mr. Potato Heads, which is cute. I almost forgot! They sell snoballs too, with a zillion different flavors. It's great for solving those inexplicable snoball cravings on cold days.

Wow! This place is great. I had the cajun potato with corn and cajun sausage. The crawfish was tender not overcooked. If you like spice this is for you. The combination of spice and heat (temperature) can be overwhelming but still very good. Stopped by for a quick lunch. Staff is friendly I was served quickly. But be warned seating is limited so if it is busy they serve you in a to go box so if it's crowed you don't have to wait. Brilliant!

Sooo....I am a huge fan of a damn good baked potato. I happen to ride down Manhattan Blvd (which is becoming the Veterans of the Westbank)...and I see the Spud Spot. I about jumped out of my seat. Usually, I would need to go to Spudley's in Metairie to get a good spud, but this lil joint was pretty much on the money. They have quite a few toppings to choose from, but I am a plain ole ham, bacon bits, sour cream, and cheese potato kinda girl. I ordered a large, which was pretty reasonably priced, and I was not disappointed. They also sell sno-balls....random...lol. This is now my go to spud joint. Finding this place is not helping me with my weight loss goal. DAMN CARBS!

Awesome Snowballs and Potato's...a little slow making the snowballs but other than that...perfect!

Absolutely terrible. Rude service, sub par food. 60 cents for a 1oz packet of sour cream, at a potato joint. Shamefull. I will not return. Dont waste your time or money, this place is horrible.

Love this place! You can get ANYTHING you want on a baked potato! My fav is the Catfish Monica - YUM!! Also have an awesome roast beef poboy! Snoballs are great and everyone is friendly and helpful. As far as Joe P's review goes, you always pay extra for EXTRAS - DUH! They aren't in biz to give YOU free food - they have to pay for what YOU put in your mouth. Try asking for extra at Taco bell - they charge you for a teaspoon of tomatoes! I go at least once a week!!
