I went here a while ago because I heard so many good things about this place and I had never been to a texas roadhouse. The customer service was the best customer service I have experienced in the New Orleans area. We were seated quickly and it was busy. We got these delicious rolls with cinnamon butter (omg so effing good). I ordered the chicken fried chicken. Wow it was so huge and came with two delicious sides. It was inexpensive and big and the all fresh real food. I had mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans as my sides. The mashed potatoes were so delicious and still in the skin mmmm. The green beans were ok, they had bacon in them which I did not expect. Overall very good food and service. Our waitress was wonderful too. I always appreciate good customer service.

I know, i know its cool to be anti-chain restaurant but I love this place. Its inexpensive and the steaks are great. Oh and those rolls are SERIOUS! It can get busy but if you use the call ahead seating you're wait time is cut down considerably. The beer selection is blah.

Although the waitstaff was very friendly, the food is greasy, salty and expensive. You can probably get a better bang for your buck by going to McDonald's or BK.

Food poisoned. The last time I ever give in to cheap steak.

It's been a few years since I've been here so my dad thought it'd be nice to take the family out to eat. The first time we tried to go eat was a Friday on New Years weekend and the place was PACKED with an hour wait time. So we decided to come back on a weekday. So the weekday comes and we tried the place again and got a table in less than five minutes! Woohoo! We got to the table and our server came up. Her name was April and she was a pretty cool chick. She wasn't rushing us to order and gave us enough time to make up our minds on our entrees. So my family all ordered steak with an onion blossom as an appetizer. Texas Roadhouse is known for their onion blossom which is a deep fried onion that's cut to look like a blossom. When it came out, it was small. I remembered it was a lot bigger a few years ago. But I guess when the economy's down, so is the size of the food. Their complimentary rolls were soft and had the perfect cream (?) to go with it. It had a cinnamon flavor to it but it went well with the roll. Our steaks came out and my brother's steak was the only one that came out the way he ordered it. My dad ordered a medium rare and it came out too rare for his liking. I ordered a medium well steak and it was a medium well, but too dry for my taste. I would think a "steakhouse" would know how to make a good steak, but I may be asking too much from a chain restaurant. I'm not saying the place is bad because there are some menu items that are good. I just hope the next time I come in, my medium well steak will be nice and juicy. :)

The food is OK, but the place is crowded, and the servers are too busy to be bothered with getting your order right. So eat and drink what is put in front of you and don't complain.

Good restaurant to eat but i don't like that you ALWAYS have to wait on table, food is always hot, staff is friendly but service could be a little faster!

Ok, I don't CARE that it's a chain or that it's tacky! I LOVE Texas Roadhouse. It's cheap and it's delicious. Tonight I was too exhausted to cook and have a nasty headache (back to back finals the next two days), but I really didn't want to eat fast food. Enter Texas Roadhouse, my cowboy on noble steed. I called in my order and drove over to collect it. I arrive fourteen minutes later and it was ready by the time I paid. They even add the free bread basket and cinnamon butter to their carryout orders! My side salad was a smidgeon smaller than it would have been dining in, but the other two sides I ordered were exactly as I expected, buttered corn and HOMEMADE mashed potatoes. I need to stress the HOMEMADE part because if they aren't homemade you sure fooled me. I am so disappointed when I go to restaurants (*cough*O'Henry's*cough*) and the mashed potatoes taste like the cardboard they came in! UGH. These are perfect and delicious - though I do recommend having the gravy on the side because they either put too much or too little. Another thing about Texas Roadhouse, the steaks are always delicious, but they're almost never perfectly cooked. So unless you get it rare or well-done, all the ones in between are generally a little over or under cooked - they WILL take it back if you're picky, but if you are it's best to cut it down the middle right when you get it. The only thing that would have made take-out better tonight would be if I had ordered one of their delicious, sugar-rimmed frozen strawberry margarita that costs as much as my meal. Too bad I have more studying to do!

My husband and I live on the Eastbank, so we don't eat here that often. Last night, we were in the area on an errand, so he knew I wanted to eat there before I even asked. We both grew up in Texas, and this place has the best country fried sirloin we've found in the area. Last night everything was on point. Drinks were kept full. Peanuts and hot rolls were in abundance. Fried pickles were perfection. Salads were crisp and fresh. Our steaks were huge and cooked perfectly. Our waitress, Amber was everything you could ask for in a server. She needs a raise. Our only complaint was that everything was so good and we tried but couldn't finish it all. Oh well, we'll get to enjoy the leftovers today. I wish they would open one closer to us.

Positives: We were seated right away, the food was GREAT, the menu seemed to have some new items, bread rolls are a-maz-ing. Needs improvement: Every Texas Roadhouse I have been in is too dark, kinda makes it feel like their hiding the dirt on the floor-oh wait, that's the peanuts... This place was tasty, but I only went because I had a gift card that I needed to spend. If you do go, highly recommend the salmon with sweet potato. Yum.

Let me start off by acknowledging the fact that I voluntarily went to lunch at a Texas Roadhouse. On the West Bank. This was a decision I actively made, and I take full responsibility for that fact. That being said, sometimes you have to go full American and ingest a shitload of calories at a chain restaurant, and being that I've been to other Texas Roadhouses, I felt as though I knew what to expect. Mainly giant portions and bad country music. Both of which I got, but what I also got was an appallingly low level of customer service that really outdid even my modest expectations. A 15 minute wait between being seated and having a server speak to us? Check. Another 15 minute wait between ordering beers and receiving them? Check. A waitress with the emotional affect of a wet paper bag? Double check. After my friend ordered a medium rare steak that showed up cold and purple in the center, Our waitress, with no apology and all the empathy of a coma patient, whisked it away to the kitchen. It did not reappear until my friend inquired into its whereabouts once everyone else at the table was finished. At which point she asked for it to go, because let's be honest, nobody has 3 spare hours to be wasting at a chain steakhouse. At no time in this did the server A- apologize for the mistake, B - apologize for the wait, C - apologize for the fact that it took an absurdly long time to heat a rare steak to medium rare, or D - apologize for the fact that no one even brought said steak to our table. When it did finally appear, it came without the baked potato that had been ordered as a side. Which we then also waited for, sans apology. At this point I started to suspect I was in purgatory. As a former waitress, I understand shit happens, mistakes get made, etc. But as a waitress, it's your job to grease the customer's wheels and appear at least moderately conscientious. Our server was incapable of both. And look, I understand she's not living the dream, waitressing at a TRH in Harvey. My heart goes out to you, girl. But if you're not going to pretend to care, I can't be bothered to pretend that giving you a decent tip is the right thing to do. In short, the food is inoffensive, but the service makes driving across the bridge seem like a much more palatable option.

This place is definitely a gross tacky chain restaurant, and the first time I went there were two waitresses making out instead of serving food, but man their food is awesome! I usually try to stay away from chains, and I don't eat at chili's, applebees, tgi friday's, or anywhere like that, but this place is my weakness. I love their steaks and everything that I've ever tried is amazing. The waitstaff sucks, I hate country music, it seems pretty dirty inside, but I just love their food enough to overlook it. Maybe the giant delicious margaritas help with that?

On Saturday January 25th I took my wife and two of my children to Texas Roadhouse off the West bank Expressway. I love the food there and have had great experiences in the past, that being said Saturday night was not great. we arrived at about 10 'til six and were informed that the wait would be about 50 minutes, all well and good, on a Saturday night at six that is understandable. What is not understandable is watching several groups with the same number of people as us (4) who arrived later than us be seated first. I went back to the hostess desk and was informed that our 50 minutes was not yet up. Lo and behold, less than a minute later our pager went off. While waiting we were not idle, we spent time reviewing the menu and deciding what we wanted to order. So we were seated and waiting on our waiter. After about five minutes he arrived and we placed our drink and food order at the same time. This was at about 6:55. Food arrival time for 1 Chicken Critter salad, 1 Chicken Sandwich, 1 Ranger Rib basket (a kids meal with 4 ribs and fries), and a plate of fries for my rather picky son? Oh that was 7:50 pm. Now I am not an unreasonable guy but this seems a little off to me. The food was still good but the sheer aggravation of the experience made me angry and my wife uncomfortable, not to mention my two children who behaved well but were bored to tears and hungry. The last few times I have been into TRH have been similarly aggravating and I don't understand why they don't do anything about it. The number of people showing up is out of the restaurants control but the absolute chaos inside the door is controllable. There should be someone tasked with keeping the exit clear of people and allowing for folks to come in and out easily. Give people realistic expectations for wait times, and make sure you aren't skipping people. The waiters should be checking on their orders regularly, I repeatedly heard waiters apologizing for late drinks or food. Management need to pay attention and keep their people focused on their jobs. And I'm going to harp on it again: having 25 people in the entry way crowded around the hostess desk is terrible business and unsafe. All it would take for people to get hurt is one slip or trip. I like TRH in general and I hope they can fix these problems. Personally I will not be visiting this location on a weekend again, at least not after 5 PM.

I don't know why so many people love this place. It's always so dirty and unkempt, the food is covered in inches of oil and/or butter and the drinks are expensive. The bbq is good, but that's it. I've been here twice and both times we had two different VERY rude waitresses that clearly hated their lives and didn't want to be at work. There's nothing worse than having a person like that who probably wants to spit in someones food just to make themselves feel better serving you..... ugh, gross. I just don't like it... period.

I would never imagine giving a Texas Roadhouse anything above average in a review, but this place had great customer service. The bartender was pretty engaging and recommended a meal I would never get in there. It was awesome, so I can't say anything bad about the food. The only bad thing had to be the obnoxious individuals down the bar with Affliction T-shirts that were saying random racial slurs. Not really the places fault, but it definitively ruined my awesome experience.

Okay, yes this is a chain restaurant based in Arkansas (ha! you thought texas huh!), but DAYUM it's delicious! It's quick, staff is young and friendly, and the food rocks. The bread is soft and freshly baked, served with cinnamon butter. I don't really do the appetizers since it's just typical stuff: wings, fries, cheese-bites.... Get a steak or ribs or something and it comes with two sides....really, that's all you need, b/c the portions are just enough, if not too much! I go for the 6 oz sirloin and then the 2 sides (plus bread) all for 8.99! Ribs here are SOOO good....*drool* Chili is delicious too!!!! Mashed potatoes are lumpy and yummy....their signature steak sauce is DELICIOUS. gooood....

Ok, it's a chain. Wah-wah. I have been to this restaurant a few times in Texas (by the way it actually is not a Texas based chain) so we've stopped here a couple times when on the Westbank. If you want to eat at a chain restaurant in South Louisiana, this is the one to go to. Food is consistent and service is actually friendly and quick--which unfortunately can be hard to find in Louisiana, especially at chains. They are ALWAYS busy. The last time we went was at 4pm for a very late lunch/early dinner, and they still had to hand out buzzers. Luckily, they have free peanuts to snack on. I actually don't eat the peanuts because I'm a germaphobe and every person that walks in there dips their disgusting hand in the bin, but people who don't mind the germs love the big bucket of peanuts that you just shell onto the floor. The free rolls are delicious, the appetizers are super cheap, and most of the entrees come with the sides of your choice. The food is meh...good but nothing special or outstanding--like most chains. Also, between rolls, an app and entrees, we usually take most of the food home and end up with another couple of meals. It may be a chain, but it's ok food and the prices are great so I'll keep visiting.

We had lunch today. It was just ok. But here is what happened. The sever took the order and read it back to us, so we know he got it right. The cook, how've, made my husbands steak rare and mine medium. Backward from how it should have been. And we got different cuts of meat or we would have just switched. So they took his back to cook it a bit longer. It took forever and when it finally came back out, they had left the same fries on the plate, so they were now cold and soggy, and the steak was still not cooked! Really! While it was moderately busy, steak and fries is what they do. C'mon, at least put some fresh fries on the plate!

Texas Roadhouse is a chain restaurant, but typically has decent food. This time I ordered to go and the chicken fried steak that my wife got was full of fat and gristle. I do enjoy their salads but don't kid yourself and think that they are healthy for you. There is more bacon on the salads than in my typical breakfast. The steaks are usually not cooked to the temperature requested, which I generally let go. The portion sizes are generous and you will leave full, but sides are general Sysco brand type vegetables.

This is the worst place to TRY to eat on the entire West Bank... And there's a bunch of bad places. I can not even really appropriately articulate how completely inept the lousy staff is at this restaurant. After being told to wait in the middle of a walk way, being nearly run over by two servers, and being left stranded while the hostess walked around trying to figure where she was suppose to bring us, we had no choice but to leave.

I don't normally do chains especially for steak but Texas Roadhouse is one of the few exceptions. This is by far not my favorite location but thankfully the food is still good just the same. I started with a cup of chili as an appetizer and the chili is one of the best you can get this side of Texas. Its thick and rich and the meat is the scraps of the steaks that they trim in the morning so its always in tender chunks, excellent. The ribeye itself was tender and perfectly cooked the backed potato was not the best I have had and I would probably go with another side next time as I found it to be quite dry. Overall for $20 it was an excellent meal and one of those that I would do again if I was fortunate to be in the area when there is not a line waiting to get in.

This was my fist time coming to TRH. After reading reviews, I decided to call for early seating. I'm glad I did. It quickly started to fill up.After we arrived, we waited for about 20 minutes. There were peanuts everywhere. You can eat them and throw them on the floor ( I hate that). The food was pretty good, I was shocked. I'm not a big steak eater, but I ordered the sirloin and grilled shrimp with mash potatoes & house salad. The house salad was really good, fresh with boiled eggs, shredded cheese and tomatoes. The steak and shrimp were good too, with freshly made mashed potatoes. Ohhh , and the rolls ....... So tasty , warm , fluffy with a nice sweet butter brushed on them, with a side of cinnamon butter (delicious). Also, try the Cactus Blossom, it is very good, the batter is delicious.

I'm not the biggest fan of a chain restaurants but my son loves steak and roadhouse was close. My little guy loved the peanuts, the rolls and the steak. Our service was exceptional!

I go it often because my dad loves their food! Everyone knows their buns and butter dip is amazing and just delicious! If you go here, make sure to either order steak or ribeye! The price for the steak is decent and you basically get what you pay for! The service is great. Depending on what time of the day you go, you may or may not have to wait if they're packed. The service is amazing as well! They don't ever catch attitudes and the atmosphere is perfect for families! Although sometimes their food can be a little too salty, that's my only complaint.

I'm sure the food would be pretty good if I ever get it hot. Forty five minute wait for a table another 45 minutes for the food. At least four tables of people who came in after us got their food before us. When they finally decided to bring it out it was barely warm. Happens every time we come here.

I could not have been happier last night with the service we received on a busy Saturday night. We were seated at the estimated time and led to our table and promptly presented with delicious rolls with cinnamon butter. Mmmmm good. After receiving our bread, we were cheerfully introduced to our waiter for the evening Charles. I can not say enough good things about this young man who waited on our table. He was courteous, intelligent about the menu, prompt, well groomed, funny, and focused on ensuring that we had the best possible experience in the restaurant. The food was properly prepared though not outstanding. But then again we didn't pay for outstanding food. But the service - as good or better than I frequently receive at fine dining restaurants. If you choose to go out for a reasonably priced steak and be served by an attentive staff (btw everyone working that night seemed on point) I can strongly recommend this franchise location. Thank you Charles for a great night and to Mr. Guice the front of the house manager for running a good ship.

The servers here are *always* cheerful and efficient. We had a great waitress, Dianna, the last time we visited. The food is consistently excellent for a chain. I had very tender prime rib and it melted in my mouth. Also should mention the frozen peach margarita, it was perfection. I can't say enough good things. I ate a more expensive local steakhouse recently, and I'm sorry to say that the food and service were not as good.

The wait for this restaurant was long when we were here on a Saturday, so we figure it would be very good. Well, it was average as far as ribs are concerned. I don't think it's worth the 45 minutes or so wait. We ordered the full rack and some sides. The ribs were definitely well seasoned, and so tender that they fall right off the bones. Now, I know most people like the meat to do that, but I don't. I know, I'm weird like that. I prefer that it'd be tender enough that it's soft, but that it stays on the bone when I pick it up. The full rack was also very big, too big for the two of us. We barely finished it and pretty much didn't finish the sides. Although, we wouldn't have finished the string beans anyway, even if we weren't stuffed. They were so overcooked that they're practically mush. I don't know about anyone else, but string beans aren't supposed to totally soft like that. All in all, I wouldn't go to another Texas Roadhouse now that I've been to one. One of the reasons we chose this chain restaurant was because we haven't seen one in California.

I have done several TRH reviews from out the country and find it interesting how they vary around the country. Since it was Mardi Gras, they were slammed packed even at 9:00pm. We waited about 30 minutes for a table, which wasn't too bad based on all the people waiting. There was a woman who sat next to my husband and asked where the usual peanuts were, so he jumped up to grab her some. The waitress told him they were all out and had been for days, WHAT Texas Roadhouse?? No peanuts? Okay, fine, we will let it go. Then once we got seated, we saw full buckets of peanuts on several tables, so not sure about that story. Our waitress was pretty quick to take the order, a little slow on refills, which is common at all TRH locations, so it is what it is there. The steaks came out as ordered and were good, nothing else to ask for. They were still seating people after 10pm with people still waiting to be seated, even though they closed at 10pm, so good for them for realizing they could stay open with the crowds, as we have been places that have the door locked by 10pm and are sweeping the floors around you as you eat, (Colorado location).

Meh. It is what it is. A chain. Service is hit or miss, usually miss. Food is pretty consistent. There is always a wait even at 930. That being said, don't go anywhere near closing time even if they are jam packed. They will treat you like shit.

    (3)
  • Kayla H.

Since the first time I came and every time after, the food is always delicious and on point, and the waitresses are always very polite and fast paced. I like how they have more benches inside and outside for customers to sit on while waiting. They also have free peanuts inside barrels for customers to snack on before being seated. My favorite things to eat are obviously the steak. I enjoy ribeyes and for the price they had theirs was very flavorful and juicy. Their bread and butter prior to the meal is also so scrumptious.

Chain restaurants.. Eh, but Texas Roadhouse is definitely an exception. I love the food here actually! But, it can also be hit or miss. The service here is also pretty bad. I've had more bad servers than good honestly. I'm not sure what it is, but tonight was a pretty good experience despite the long wait. Every time I come here, I always get the New York Strip or The Ft. Worth Ribeye cooked medium well. Well, that's usually inconsistent. Sometimes I get well done and sometimes it's perfect! Loaded mashed potatoes, can't mess up on that. Rewinding a bit, did I mention their bread with the butter is AMAZING?! So good. Other things I've tried were the country fried sirloin & country fried chicken. Both are good with the white gravy. Food again is great and pretty reasonably priced. service is hit or miss, but that wouldn't stop me from coming back. As for my experience today, it was a Sunday so of course it's packed. Being around dinner time, the wait we were told was 30-40 minutes which turned into about an hour, an hour and ten minutes. We were seated and our server came by quickly, took our drink order, and came back to take orders. My mom and i both had salads with our order which didn't take long at all. After about 20 minutes passed, our server came back once to bring me some more water and take the salad plates, never to be seen again. Another 30 minutes passed and we watched as tables seated after us got their food before us. After waiting another 10, we finally flagged down a manager,I believe, to check on our order and they returned shortly after to apologize and were working on it promptly. I'm glad he took care of us and worked on getting the food out in a timely manner after apologizing several times. Bad experience this time, but I'll still come back for the food! Call ahead seating is recommended!

It's a chain....but it's a chain I like enough to review! TRH is consistent in putting out decent food. The rolls with the cinnamon butter are fantastic, it's hard not to indulge in one of those. I typically get the 6oz sirloin, medium. You get a choice of 2 sides with that. Caesar salad and baked potato for the win! The best steak you've ever eaten? Ok, no it isn't. The best steak for the price? Probably! You cant get a 6oz sirloin with 2 sides for about $10 bucks. That's pretty damn cheap folks. Obviously this places appeals to the masses, as there is always a wait. You can call ahead and get your name higher up on the list though, so if you are with a larger party that's a good idea. Side note: the Cactus Blossom appetizer is legit. Get it.

I enjoyed every piece of my dinner. My waitress Tina Marie was excellent. I recommend this place to you if you are looking for a fun place to eat. Seating was right on time. The place was packed and we didn't have to wait to be seated. I will return again.

I ordered 16 oz Fort Worth Ribeye with a side of mashed potatoes and Cesar salad to go. Neither of my sides were in my bag when I got home, I called and spoke with a manager named Joe at the Manhattan location in Harvey, La. Joe explained that he was sorry and there was nothing he could do about it. He advised me to read the sign which said to check your order. Wow!

Going to keep this short and simple. Big parking lot. Located by Pier 1 imports. Peanuts are scattered everywhere when you first enter -- but hey, that's a tradition with Texas Roadhouse! Came in on a Friday night. Very crowded. Took 30 minutes to get a table. Our hostess was nice and seated us in a big table for 3 people. Friendly service. Knocked off a star due to wait for food (30-40 mins). Knocked off another star because we asked for med-rare for our steak but it was more cooked than med-rare. Food was OK, wasn't the BEST (I've experienced better at other TRH's). Big portions.

Just like a previous reviewer said, I would normally never review a chain. I mean, come on folks, you know what you're getting into right? But I've had such awesome service every time I've been to TRH that I felt I owed them a good review. In fact, the first time we ate there the manager introduced himself and gave us a gift certificate for an appetizer to come back. They don't do that at the fancy-pants non-chains! Here's some things you should know: The food is above average for a chain and you get ALOT of it. Your waitress will be a high school student, but she will take care of you. There will be children spilling drinks EVERYWHERE. Personally, I think kids are just the worst, but TRH does a good job of entertaining them-- there's usually a clown walking around with balloons. They've got some good weeknight/happy hour specials-- think about checking that out if its your first trip.

All I have been hearing about TRH is how amazing the food is. WRONG. I went here with somewhat high expectations, and was completely let down. I ordered the bacon burger, which was my mistake (burgers at a chain restaurant are always bad). It took nearly an hour to get our food. When it did arrive, my plate had a puddle of grease which had soaked into the bun. The bun was soggy and falling apart in my hand. I took a bite into the burger and it was completely raw. The tomato that was on it was unripe and sour. I asked for a side of barbeque sauce which the server confused for mayonaise. When I confronted my server, she said she would get the manager, who never came to my table. I had also ordered a frozen strawberry margarita which was delicious, the only reason I would even consider giving this place one star.

Ok, its a chain, but we're limited on non-chains on the West Bank. That said, the food is decent for a chain, service is standard - not bad, but not noteable. Standard fare, normally somewhat busy but not a long wait if there's one at all.

Very busy place. But if you didn't bring the kids you can sit and eat at the bar (which we did). Drinks and food were quick, just as the service. Monica and Missy were the bartenders. The seemed to be having alot of fun with each other and the customers (including us). I'll sit at the bar everytime now.

I have a problem with Texas Roadhouse and I can maybe never go back as a result. Hi. My name is Marielle and I'm addicted to fried pickles. Yes, it's true. I have a major problem saying saying "no" to the salty, fried little things and this place gives you a huge basket of them for only 4 bucks. A major problem indeed. I mean, I'm eating them and I know that they must be somewhat healthy...I mean, pickles are cucumbers and cucumbers are vegetables, right? Yeah, I'm just gonna go with that. Along with the fried pickles from God, I also got a pulled pork sandwich that came with steak fries. I swear, this was so much food that I didn't know what to do with myself and I ended up taking most of it home. The sandwich was ok. I've had better, but this is a chain and you get chain food at a chain. Kinda weird how that works out. They also give you a basket of free bread with cinnamon butter when you order, so you will definitely leave this place satisfied. Honestly, I'll be back for the fried pickles alone. I'm not enough of a bbq fanatic to go back for any other reason, but those fried pickles got this place to 4 stars in my book. Just a note: I sat at the bar area and the girl who served me (I wanna say her name was Kali) was super attentive and nice. You could tell she knew what she doing and she was really good about making sure that everyone sitting at the bar was taken care of.

I love TRH. The bread that you get when you first sit down is so fresh and soft (and always warm). It's served with a cinnamon butter that is made just right, not too sweet. The cactus blossom is always a good choice for an appetizer and I never have a meal without starting with a side salad with their homemade ranch dressing. This is by far the best ranch dressing I have ever had. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone, and the steaks are usually pretty good. There is a good variety of entree plates to choose from as well, such as country fried sirloin, chicken critters, oven roasted chicked, a few seafood choices, and much more (all of which come with choice of 2 sides). Word to the wise- this is not the place to go if you're looking for a healthy meal. Also, if you plan on going on the weekends you need to call ahead and get your name on the waiting list (yes, without a doubt there will be a wait list).

If you want burned food, this is your place. If you want high blood pressure from salt overload, this is your place. I hate to say it but I do not ever plan on stepping foot in this place again. My wife and I used to go here because the food was good. Times change and I guess current employees do not know the differences between rare and well done. I don't tell them to cook it how ever they want, they give me a choice and I pick one. I didn't realize you get it how the person cooking it likes theirs. Planning a trip to Texas so we can visit a Saltgrass steakhouse. Maybe the staff of THR should go too. See how a real steak is cooked properly.

Ok, This is likely the only chain I will ever write a review for- and I'm embarrassed doing it! But honestly, it's damn good food and I suppose we eat there often enough that I should leave a review. Don't laugh, but when we go try a new place to eat, we tend to rate the value and food against Texas Roadhouse. Why? What does one get at the Roadhouse for about $10? As many peanuts as you can eat, as many warm, sweet rolls with cinnamon butter as you can eat, a large piece of meat (in my case chicken or fish as I don't eat beef) with 2 sides which may be a baked potato, sweet potato, kick ass house or Cesar salad, mashed potatoes that are REAL and taste like desert when paired with their white gravy.....and several other choices. Yes, all for $10. On a recent trip to Mahoney's Po Boys, I sat there thinking that for the same price, I could be enjoying a Roadhouse meal instead- and I would have preferred it! Anyway, Texas Roadhouse is always busy, and it is a chain, but it is worth going to. The food is consistent and fresh, the portions are large, the service is friendly, and compared to so many other places it really is a satisfying meal. We never leave hungry or disappointed- ever- and that is really saying something! I should note here that I don't eat beef. My partner does and others I have been to the Roadhouse with do and they say the steak is really good and cooked perfectly. I normally get the bar-b-q chicken, the chicken fried chicken, one of their huge salads, Chicken Critters, their grilled salmon with lemon butter, or on rare occasion their ribs. All those meals are mouth watering good. In short, this place is recommended!

"What is it with you and Greek history lately?" my girlfriend asked me as we journeyed through the crowded parking lot towards Texas Roadhouse with the vigor and determination of a once curious hobbit named Frodo who, as legend speaks, similarly persevered to destroy a mystical ring of great malicious intent. "In the bookstore, all you seemed interested in were Greek ruins and philosophers whose names I can't even pronounce. God forbid that we ever have a child because you'll probably want to name them after one of the Greek heroes!" "And they should consider themselves honored should we ever decide to do so! Honored, I say again!" I bellowed into the night sky. "Tell me, what's better than being named after an individual who achieved legendary physical, spiritual and even technological feats? If I could be named after any influential Greek figure of antiquity, it would probably be Archimedes." "Why would you choose him?" my girlfriend asked puzzlingly. "Wouldn't you rather be someone cool? Perhaps Ares or Perseus?" "Archimedes reminds me of myself" I replied. "I'm dominated by my own thoughts and ideas, just as he was. It's been said that he was so entranced by his work that he forgot to bath regularly and quite literally had to be dragged to the bathtub to be cleaned. Once there, he'd write out complex mathematical formulas onto his chest with soap suds. His mind never stopped!" "I don't know about all of that" she said "but can you imagine the ridicule they are going to suffer at school because no one can say their name correctly?" "I would be more concerned about our kids not living up to the names bestowed upon them" I said as I opened the restaurant's door. "I would imagine conversations with our friends would go something like, "This is our oldest son, Euripides, who seems to be over dramatic in practically every life scenario he encounters. Really, it's more than our wife and I can handle sometimes! Then, there's our youngest, Euclid, whom my wife named, since she's in finance and has a way with numbers. The irony there is that he is absolutely dismal in Arithmetic! He almost didn't pass 3rd and 4th grade because of his scores in Math! We really got it wrong naming that one, I tell you! And don't get me started on our little girl, Ariadne, who possesses a penchant for being disappearing. We can never find her in the morning, which makes her and the other children late for school, my wife and I late for work and bath times! Oh, she steams me up like Pythia seated over the fissure of the Earth, unfortunately without the pleasure of the intoxicating vapors and lucid prophecies!" We continued to joke as were we promptly seated. Texas Roadhouse has remained my favorite establishment for pork ribs. The meat is slow cooked for no less than 8 hours and the meat falls away from the bone at the slightest touch. If one is to sample any of the menu items, I beg that it be this one. The restaurant also holds a deeper place in my heart as it was a spot I frequented with my late grandfather. There were many nights that we shared great food and good laughs over their delectable dishes. As we left the restaurant and headed toward our car, the Greek discussion continued. "Wouldn't it be funny to imagine someone like Heracles going to a job interview in our time?" I asked. "I think it would go down like this: "We, at McDonald's, look to hire those individuals who possess a strong commitment to excellence. We're looking for someone who is dedicated to his responsibilities, is enthusiastic, driven and has a real "the customer is always right" kind of attitude. In your own words, Heracles, tell me why you think you might be a good fit for us here amongst our kitchen crew." "Well sir" Heracles would respond. "I'm passionate about success, which I believe you'll find evident in my list of accolades achieved throughout my working career. I hold a great record in accomplishing goals given to me by my superiors and I'm confident that where I've found success, an employee of lesser devotion would only find failure. Throughout the course of my flourishing albeit brief working career, I've been given all sorts of daunting tasks, from slaying the Nemean Lion and capturing the Golden Hind of Artemis to ridding our work site of the menacing Lernaean Hydra. Talk about hardships! For every head I dispatched, two more grew back in its place! For Zeus' sake, the vile beast had nine heads to start with! I've even gone so far as to locate and return my supervisor's lost puppy, Cerberus. I managed that feat after normal work hours so you'll notice that it's not reflected in my work history but I personally feel that it's relevant when discussing my loyalty. I've also cleaned the Augean stables in a single day so obviously, I don't mind getting my hands dirty. I'm no stranger to a mop and bucket, that's for sure! All in all, I believe I'd be a great asset to your company, whether on the grill or at the fry station."

I've been a fan of Texas Roadhouse for a long time. We went for a late-ish dinner, on a Monday night. The place wasn't slammed-busy as it usually is, so there was no wait. Service was efficient, but un-enthusiastic. Beer was iced cold. Steak for me, and pork chops for the Mrs., were cooked perfectly, and were flavorful. The sides were horrible. Ambiance was fine until one of the bus boys got into a disagreement with a co-worker. Didn't seem to be any management on the floor to address this, and on it went. It was a very unpleasant distraction.

Food always gives me a stomach ache. Not sure why. Does it to my daughter as well. Anyway, waitress was missing for a while and wasn't very fast on refills or requested silver wear. Not impressed with this particular location. Will try another location to see how my stomach feels and to see if at least the service is better.

This lunch was so enlightening yet oddly horrifying that I'm about to drop some mixed metaphors ranging from Dante's "Divine Comedy" to Charles Dicken's "A Christmas Carol" and then a dash of Oregon Trail for good measure on you - the reader. If you've ever wondered what a slow march through Purgatory might amount to, wait no longer. Go to Texas Roadhouse on the West Bank and there you shall find your answer. I find it oddly fitting that a visit to a steakhouse on a Friday during Lent provided me such great insight into the more subtler forms of punishment in the world, but fear not, I will not take this warning lightly. If Texas Roadhouse was the Ghost of Christmas Future, I'd be trembling in my boots and repenting immediately for whatever sins I've committed in my waking life to deserve such atrocious neglect. I could delve into exact specifics about how the waitstaff here bombarded me with actual instances of Sloth but let me summarize by saying their customer service technique was akin to trudging through seven levels of suffering for crimes I did not know I committed. My eyes have been opened. If Texas Roadhouse truly is a sampling of Purgatory, in that it felt like hours and only minutes had passed in my misery, let me tell you... It was so harsh and unrelenting that I am certain that no one was praying for me on the outside because the slogan for this dining adventure should be "pace is grueling and rations meager". I'd rather roll a stone up a hill for the rest of eternity than set foot beyond the threshold of Texas Roadhouse ever again. What was really most appalling about my lunch was not just the sheer physical laziness of our waitress but also her spiritual indolence which came at me with oppressive abundance. Her failure to do things that one should do as a server - such as greet me within 15 minutes, bring my beverage before another 15 minutes passes, ensure that my meat is actually cooked beyond the temperature of "purple and raw", retrieve my food at any point from the kitchen after I was forced to send it back, bring back my plate with the sides that were ordered instead of tossing them in the trash, maybe even apologize - were not done. Not by any stretch of her, or even my, imagination. Evil truly exists when good men fail to act. It was, however, the sheer listlessness that was the most intriguing act today as I have never actually witnessed pure apathy and lack of facial expression upon repeated instances of failure. The walking dead may actually be serving food at this establishment. In short, I feel beleaguered. Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.

Texas Roadhouse in New Orleans, LA is a let down. I've had better elsewhere. The ribs I got deserved 2 stars but the service and the bread and butter gave it the extra star. Let's begin, I ordered the half slab of ribs with a side of rice and steak fries. The ribs i got was burnt and very bland. Why was it bland? Well there wasn't any bbq sauce on it and the taste of it was like eating a beef jerky minus the constant chewing. The rice? uhh no, i rather eat uncle ben's rice than here. But surprisingly the steak fries were good, i ate all of that and i finished off the bread and butter. Other than that, i don't recommend ordering the ribs unless you order a side of bbq sauce. Overall I don't recommend it..

Love this place so much better than Outback. Good food and lots of it. It does get very crowded... Go early.

Okay, I was going to call earlier in the day to inform them I had a party of 10 coming in. Well, if you have over 7 people, you cannot call ahead. Okay, I can be alright with that. Soooo, we get there and they won't even add us to the list until everyone is there. Again, fine whatever! After being there nearly an hour between waiting for the party and waiting for the table, they seat us at two separate booths. I am refraining from dropping the F Bomb at this point. SERIOUSLY!! Two separate booths! What was the point of all that waiting if you never had any intention of letting us even eat together. I refrained from being a raging "B" at this point because I didn't want to completely embarrass the people I was with, but I did speak up in a "joking" manner about it being crap! We ate our meal, which was typical TX Roadhouse food and nothing special, but we chose because it's easy to get to and they accommodate children well. Finally the check comes... Let me back up. They didn't seat us together. I know how they are about separate checks but since they didn't seat us together, I asked for separate checks. Our table had three. I know parties of 8 or more normally add the tip to the check.... but ummmm normally the party actually SITS TOGETHER when that happens. Nope, they added an 18% gratuity. Normally, I'll leave 20% and those at my table was going to leave more... That's all she got was the 18%. Not a dime more! My friend paid in cash and the waitress gave her change and dropped about 15 nickels in her hand because apparently opening a roll of quarters was too much trouble! Again, I spoke up in an above average voice about the experience being crap. After all this, I recommend finding a better spot of larger parties and maybe just finding a better spot altogether. Honestly, it's a chain and i shouldn't expect anything special. This place was a joke tonight! They only employ teenagers and they don't give a rat's ass about your experience. They just want you to eat and gtfo!
