I wouldn't necessarily call myself a pho connoisseur, but I know a good bowl of pho when I taste one. As far as Pho Hoa goes, my bowl of pho was just okay. There wasn't anything spectacular about it. I had to add more sriracha, lime, and basil than I normally do because the broth was a little bland (which I suppose could be good if you like to fully customize the flavor). The noodles were fine though, so that's helpful. They have a whole lot of choices of pho, most of them with tendon, flank, and tripe, but I like to keep mine relatively simple, so I just got flank and brisket. Not that I really got to enjoy either because they were so fatty that I started to get a little grossed out. Most places I've been have had relatively lean cuts of brisket with not fat that were cooked to perfection in the steamy broth. This particular bowl of pho ended up just being noodles and broth since I couldn't bring myself to eat all the fat and didn't have the patience to pull it all off. So basically if you like really fatty meat in your pho (which some people do), you'd probably really like it here. If you're like me and don't really care for it, I would stick to Pho Danh #4 (still my favorite Vietnamese restaurant). Good things. The servers are really nice. They make sure that you have everything you need, and check up on you from time to time. The place is pretty nice too. It's nothing extraordinary, but it seemed very clean, and had plenty of places to sit. There was also ample parking. My friend also got the Bánh Mì Bò Kho, and it was really good. It's a great bowl of beef stew that comes with a small crusty loaf of bread for dipping. Overall, go try it! See if you like it, and let me know what you think. You may have a different preference of pho than I do.

There's no better Pho on the planet. Okay... I've never been to Viet Nam, but if I did go, I would still miss Pho Hoa - steamy, spicy, fragrant beefy heaven in a bowl. Service is amazingly fast and the family who owns the restaurant are always eager to ensure the best food and service possible.

It's a pretty good place. Within a relatively short distance from my home. Definitely a place where I can satisfy my "Phonaticism" .

My girlfriend and I visit Pho Hoa almost every time we are over on the West Bank. The food is affordable and delicious and the ingredients are always very fresh. I have been to quite a few Vietnamese places, both in Louisiana and in other cities, and so I feel confident in saying that Pho Hoa is great. The soups are excellent, but if you are looking to change up from the usual pho, I highly recommend the noodles with grilled pork. The seasoning on the pork is perfect and the meat is cooked so that it is nice and juicy with loads of flavor. It's probably also worth saying that there are always a lot of Vietnamese and Vietnamese-American customers eating at Pho Hoa--a further sign (if you don't believe me) that it is a legitimately great place for Vietnamese food.

i love love this place. No frills here but the pho is awesome. The portions are huge i can usually make 3 meals out of it.

I been coming here since I was a teenage. My family and I always come here for the pho but they have much more to offer than just pho. This is my must go to for pho. This place been around a for years and it's family owned and operated.

Food was pretty good. Would have rated higher but found some foreign objects in my food (piece of rubber band, piece of plastic)

Okay, I'm livid. How is my favorite pho place getting only 3.5 stars on Yelp?? I challenge you naysayers to find a bowl of pho in the NO metro area that has a clearer, less greasy broth than this place. My family and I (first generation Vietnamese, not to pull out the ethnic card) have been coming here for years and are deeply loyal customers. More than any other Vietnamese place, they capture the true essence of pho with all the right ingredients and prepping methods. And they don't give me grief about phoning in a to-go order 15 minutes before closing time! If you're used to the greasy pho from Tau Bay, keep in mind that they're probably cutting corners and not skimming the fat off as the broth cooks. Not only is this the tastiest pho place in the land (even better than some of the pho joints I've tried in Santa Ana or Portland), but it's also the cheapest, at $5.75 for a bowl. Definitely worth the $1 toll for crossing the CCC.

I was born and raised off, Pho, but I'm not a fan of Pho Hoa. I've been to this place when it was originally open in the plaza next to China Doll a few blocks away. It reopened to this new location not long ago but its recipe is still the same. The Pho broth is bland the meat is fatty, overcooked, chewy, perhaps even not fresh. We went here twice and didn't feel good later on after each occasion. My friends and family has even agreed to this. We don't have many Pho places to chose from in the Westbank but we shouldn't settle. It's a sin to call this good and masking it with Hoison and Siracha and calling it passable is just as disturbing...shame on you. It lacks the soul of Pho. If you didn't grow up on it then you just don't know better and it's not your fault, eat at more locations and learn. Go to Pho Bang down the street. Seriously. P.S. It's rare to get 5 star service or even 3 star service at Viet restaurants. The viet waitresses stay real like the food. You see them when you order and when you get your food...maybe. It's not out of disrespect, if you want authentic food you sometimes get authentic service...eh? get my drift. Sometimes they are friendly...depends on you though. Try younger servers they work a bit harder for your tip. But good food speaks for itself, you'll come back anyways...like eating at Pho BANG or go to Tan Dinh their Pho Ga is delicious and their menu is extensive and delish. ~Ivy

First off, really classy/nice restaurant (I didn't expect it to be, being a pho place. They're usually a lot more...grounded, simple, and to the point). Also pho was expensive for pho... Second, not only were the bowls of pho gigantic, but it was also really good. The wait was longer than it should have been though... Pho should be ready to go! soup, meat, veggies, EAT. Third, bubble tea here was actually delicious. I was pleasantly surprised. Overall, probably wouldn't go here for the pho because of the price, but maybe the bubble tea..?

I've eaten at nearly 20 Vietnamese Restaurants, this one has the best Pho I've ever had and their Sunday Pho is incredible. Get the Pho Combo and ask for a bowl of scallions in oil on the side.

Credentials: I've eaten Pho in at least 70-80 Pho places in the US in more than ten states. I am a pho-natic, and Pho Hoa does not disappoint. The brisket pho was off the chain, and must have had close to a half pound of delicious brisket in it. Spring rolls were good as well... I would come back here in a heartbeat but then again Pho Tau Bay, Pho Bang, and many other Nola pho places await... so much pho, so little time.

This is the only place my family and I go when we are craving pho. So i compare every pho restaurant to them. My brother who lives in Mississppi first stop before visiting us is this restaurant. Their menu is more expansive then it used to be now you can get rice dishes if you are in the mood for noodles or beefstew. They are also now making bubble tea drinks but not a large variety. I love that they decided to spuce up the place with some artwork and bamboo. I believe they will always have me as a customer as long as they dont change the pho recipe.

  • Catherine N.

I've been eating here what seems like to be forever. The pho is always on point. However I wouldn't recommend any rice dishes at this place. Like my dad always say; if you're going to a pho restaurant then you should only be eating pho. The staff there are helpful and nice. Never had bad service there either. I see myself eating here for years to come.

First time here and was pretty good. They have 2 sizes of Pho 2 choose from, regular and large. That is a plus! Had the Pho Ga and Bahn Mi with Ham & pate'! The sandwich was excellent! The Pho was better than average but WAY 2 heavy on the noodles! The plus side was that it was the Most meat I've ever has in a bowl of Pho! I had the lemon soda for my drink which was wonderful but if you've never had it B4 don't fill ur glass 2 the top with the soda cause when U stir it up it will explode out of ur glass onto the table! All in all a good experience! Would really give it a 3.5 but I had a credit card issue that they patiently waited for me 2 resolve. Plus I was a TOTAL klutz that day and spilled my soda, Pho, and nocked a bottle of soy sauce on the floor, which broke and they were TOTALLY cool about the whole thing! Worth a try if you are a Viet food fan!

Everyone has their own pho place they go to and this is mine. Fresh and delicious every time I go. I wish they served it with more vegetables. The portions are nicely sized. The parking is very small so come at a good time(not breakfast) if you don't want to wait.

Our family went to eat Pho Hoa after New Years Day because we grew up eating Pho Hoa. But during my recent visit I found a burnt newspaper in my Bowl of Pho. I guess they used newspaper to kick start the burner and somehow a small piece of burnt newspaper flew into my bowl. I went and told the owner and she was nice and gave me a new bowl but I already lost my appetite. She came by and talk to our family which was nice. I give this place two star for their service. The Pho was good but again finding things in your bowl makes everything all bad. I would give this place another try, just because we grew up eating here.

Hu tieu!!!! Best I have ever tasted, get it everytime I come! Tastes even better with tripe!

As far as pho restaurants go, this place barely makes the cut, especially since it's located in New Orleans. This place is more on par with what you'd expect from a pho place in Mississippi. flavor-wise everything was ok, but portion-wise they really short you. Much better pho to be had over in New Orleans east at Dong Phuong. To their favor though, the place was very clean.

    (3)
  • Lenny K.

Flavoring of the pho was outstanding...small bowls were very filling...fresh basil, jalepeno, and bean sprouts on the side, and quite friendly service. The summer roll wrappers were a little gummy, but three to an order! Hopefully, the cleanliness of the bathroom is not indicative of the kitchen because it was dirty! The tray they served us from was also not wiped. They could also try playing some traditional music and putting up some pictures of Vietnam! It's very boring inside.

Pho and ice coffee for an early Sunday breakfast. Does it get any better? Must not because it is definitely a popular place even in the morning, but I still had no problem finding a seat.

    (4)
  • Anne H.

Some of the best pho in New Orleans and I have tried it all except for the ones on Chef Menteur. The service is spot-on and the place is casual. The pho tai is good every time, they have the best broth ever! Also try their fresh rolls with pork and shrimp with peanut sauce, absolutely delicious. With the best prices and best food, it's easy to say this is my favorite and I am a pho-natic!

  • Calvin M.

The bun bo hue is better than anything I've found in Kenner and Metarie area. Its $10.50 a bowl. Kind of pricey, But it's very authentic. I really like the shrimp paste they give as dipping sauce. Never had it like that before. They gave two large pieces of blood cake. Too bad it's a little stale. The pomegranate dessert was over cooked.

  • Ane T.

My first time here, EVER. I've heard a lot about this place from friends and family alike. Seeing as I'm an "Eastbanker" (Metairie), I dont care to venture to the "Westside" to eat. Especially pho. But my sister invited me there for lunch and I accepted. It is not AT ALL what I had in mind. Service: The waitress was friendly and I liked the fact that she confirmed our order back to us. I'm not a fan of oinions at all so I told the waitress that and she said she got it. Of course, when i got my food, there it is. Double heapings of onions and cilantro staring me in the face. Now, Im not blaming her but there is obviously a miscommunication between the food runner and the waitress. Whatever. I tried to scoop out as much as i could. Food: Not enough noodles and too much meat: fatty, gummy meat. ack! It tasted weird too. Not my cup of tea, therefore, will not be back. P.S. Since I'm being negative and wont be returning, the slogan on the back of the shirts needs to go. It's a little out dated. Hater in the building. LOL!!

Good as it gets, this is the best pho closest I can get when I'm in town to feeling at home in the West Coast. I love the coffee here as well. Great food, great drinks, great service. I'm very impressed with this place comparing to other pho places I've been to.

When all else fails, go where people in the know go. We decided to try Pho Hoa on the recommendation of an A-B-V (American-Born-Vietnamese, ya heard?) friend who said that's where he and all his Vietnamese friends go to enjoy pho, com, bun, and other Vietnamese staples. We even went there at the traditional time for these foods: breakfast! THE GOOD Goi Cuon (summer rolls): One word: ginormous. These things were easily 4+ bites for me, a person who can take down a double cheeseburger from McDonald's in about five mouthfuls. Whether being so massive is a good thing or a bad thing is probably up to individual preferences, but I certainly enjoyed the generous portion. Aside from the size, they were well wrapped, filled proportionally with three big shrimp per roll, and tasted fresh. The accompanying peanut sauce had that thicker consistency that I'm a fan of as well. Com Thit Nuong (broken rice with grilled marinated pork chop): One word: monstrous. This was the largest serving of pork that I've ever had come with a com or bun dish. Aside from the size, the pork was grilled for the perfect amount of time to maintain some tender texture, and the marinade was spot-on. Pho Dac Biet (pho with pretty much all the meat in it): One word: HUGE (noticing a trend here?). The bowl of pho was completely overstuffed with meat. Again, it's probably personal preference as to whether this is a good thing or not, but neither of us had any complaints about getting more of the good stuff than expected. The broth was rich in flavor and not too oily (based on other reviews of this place maybe we got lucky, but we'll take it). The meat was tender as it should always be, and indeed everything we wanted was in the bowl. Atmopshere: Maybe it was because we were eating at Pho Hoa during breakfast hours, but there was literally only one non-Asian person in the restaurant during our entire meal, and we were probably the only non-Vietnamese Asians in the building too. The fact that Pho Hoa is stuffed to the gills with people knowledgeable about the basics of their native cuisine probably speaks volumes about the quality of the food too, right? THE BAD I didn't buy one of their funny pho pun T-shirts, and I slightly regret it. :( PURGATORY Even though they had planned on presenting Banh Mi (Vietnamese Po Boy, at least in this part of the world) at Po-Boy Fest in November, when I asked the cashier she said they decided last minute not to do it. Sad. Probably worked out for the best though, since Po-Boy Fest was such a clusterf*ck and people probably would have had a hard time remembering they were there anyways. OVERALL This is most assuredly one of those "relatively-speaking" five-stars. Does Pho Hoa essentially serve comfort food and basic cuisine, just from a different region of the world? Of course. Almost all pho places that I know of in New Orleans serve variations of the same basics, aside from maybe 9 Roses. Fortunately, I think I've tried the place that does the basics better than almost any other. Definitely give Pho Hoa a try.

Had a great time today visiting folks on Twitter, and the folks from Nola-Eats.com . This event was part of Nola-Eats.com's Tour Du Pho series. The family staff here are really nice, and the pho was great. I ordered pho with clear noodles and extra shrimp instead of pork liver for $6.50. They owners threw in a dessert called three color dessert. You mix the three colors together and let the flavors meld. It was a fun treat. Happy to try out another Westbank spot with such friendly people.

Giant bowls of pho. Really generous accessory plates (what do you call those?) Great broth. There was too much meat though, and it made it weirdly greasy, which I both love and also am grossed out by.

Coming from San Diego, I've been in search of good Vietnamese food and due to the different regions, styles and flavors of Vietnamese fare it can be difficult. I love lemongrass chicken/pork and can make a mean lemongrass dish myself but for venturing out Pho Hoa makes a pretty delicious lemongrass pork rice vermicelli. This is one of my go to meals and so far this has been the best in the area because they don't skimp on flavor. My mom got the same dish but with beef and the pork is definitely 10x better. My brother got the Pho Ga (Chicken Pho) and I really like their broth. Plus their fresh spring rolls were full and pretty big. We went during a weekday late lunch and had no wait for seating and the service was pleasant and fast.

  • lin h.

1st of all you BETTER have an appetite coming here. They do not skimp on the noodles and they give you what seems like a neverending amount of meat in your pho. Service is fast, friendly and they speak fluent english. Pho is def above average, but not the bomb. Prices are cheap.

    (4)
  • Seems Q.

Tried em all (fam lives on the west bank) and this by far my favorite pho place on the westbank. A huge bowl of amazing pho for less than $6 bucks and they don't skimp on the basil, jalapenos, limes, and bean sprouts. Some advice: they get really busy during lunch and their parking lot fills up really fast. Try parking across the street at Pet Smart!

Today, I had came here with a few of my friends and i heard it is one of the BEST PHO in the west bank. So we walked in and seated ourselves and a nice waitress took our order. Service was good and on point. My friends and I ordered crab rangoon and egg rolls for our appetizer. I find that the crab rangoon was overcooked and the crab just tasted weird. On the other hand, we ordered the pho and bun bo hue (spicy beef soup with vermicelli) and it was on point. This place deserves a 4 star and that -1 star is for the crab rangoon. I will come to this place again :)

pho-king fail! :( Man what happened to this place. My friends wanted some pho and I'm always down for pho since I'm a pho-lover and can eat it everyday. Not wanting to eat pho at the same place (pho bang) twice in one weekend, we decided to hit up Pho Hoa. Service was extra slow, spring rolls was just meh, and the pho made my stomach hurt and made me feel like I wanted to throw-up. The broth definitely tasted weird this time and kind of watered-down. Such a shame, such a shame! Pho-king FAIL!

According to Allen, this family-owned business has been serving steaming bowls of pho for almost 40 years. They clearly have their recipe (and witty pho puns) down. Allen got the GIANT bowl of pho, with all the meat you could think of. He doesn't like tripe but of course, they forgot to take it out when he asked (second time they've done this). I got a medium bowl of rare with brisket and meatballs. Overall, a solid bowl. Good broth, nice portion sizes. The only drawback -- if you can call it that -- is TOO MUCH MEAT. The meat portions were huuuge. We found ourselves picking the meat out. Halfway through, I was too exhausted from meat eating to continue. 3 stars for too much meat and mistake in the order. Otherwise, a solid place to stop while out across the river, hitting the box stores along the Manhattan strip.

First try of Pho. After a little hesitation , took the first bite/sip. Damn that is good. The summer rolls are fantastic.

  • Roy L.

Eat here every time I go to New Orleans. The Pho and Bun bo Hue are delicious! Their steamed shrimp rolls actually have whole pieces of shrimp in it. Something I'm not used to living in Atlanta, but I know shrimp is plentiful in New Orleans.

I have been a faithful at other establishments, but I am happy to discovery another gem on the Westbank. I am in love with their crab rangoon. They have bacon in them! My husband loves the Pho. He says that it has more body and depth to it than other Pho he has had. I think that speaks volumes. The menu here isn't as extensive as most other Vietnamese Restaurants, but I would think that is what helps them focused on perfecting each item they offer. We have been here at least three times in a span of a month. It would have been more, but they close fairly early--7pm.

Not vegetarian friendly. I went with the Tour du Pho and they went out of their way to bring me something. Staff VERY nice and I hope they find some Tofu for their menu!

Update: CLOSED! The family of Pho Hoa has decided not to renew their lease and is now in the process of obtaining a building, literally down the street close to Super Wal-Mart. Stay tuned for updates! ===== My family and I have been coming here for as long as we have lived in Louisiana....hands down, great pho. Post-Katrina: new chairs and tables, YAAY! Small bowl of pho is deceptively huge....soooo good. Flavourful and savoury broth....ohhhh....food coma....*drool* They also have Vietnamese style beef stew, pho ga, and banh mi sandwiches (pretty darn tasty!). Cash only!

I'm a lover of pho tai. I recently saw an article about this place in the recent Dining Guide so I gave it a try. The pho was good. Not as good as some of my other favorite places (Pho Tau Bay or 9 Roses).

  • Milene I.

this place gets me. I've been to many pho places and this one is the best I've had in the New Orleansish area. the staff are very friendly and the food is definitely of the best in taste. prices are not bad at all for the portion sizes to choose from. I wish they had watermelon bubble tea.

    (5)
  • Alaa M.

Portion for price is OK. Asked for tofu noodle soup, it comes with no veggies . then ordered a shrimp soup it was frozen. 2 stars because the staff were nice

  • sejin H.

This is my go to place. Since I've been here i have yet to find that "ONE" pho place in New Orleans area but this place is good and has the best price. There aren't thousand things on the menu and it focuses mostly on pho (well it's a pho place duh) but it does offer a few varieties of rice, noodle and sandwich dishes along with the traditional vietnamese drinks. Portions are good too. Staff are nice but like most they come and serve and hardly come back. They kind of leave you alone to eat.

Best Pho in town especially on Sunday! It's become our family's regular spot on Sunday afternoons! Dad gets the Pho combo w extra tendon, kids get their baby pho and I'm in love w number 30, grilled steak and onions served w salad and jasmine rice! And no meal would be complete without Pho Hoa's fresh Vietnamese spring rolls! Treat yourself soon!!

  • Marielle S.

Pretty decent, but not overly fantastic. I got the brisket Pho in a "regular" size bowl that was $6.50. It was okay, but for $1.25 more at Tan Dinh you get a lot more "bang" for your buck and a better tasting broth. It wasn't terrible, but it was missing something. I feel like they are afraid to make it taste too "authentic" for fear of alienating some of their less experienced customers. Oh well. It made for an okay lunch, but I probably wouldn't return.

Best Vietnamese food on the westbank, maybe in the city. Been going there for years and can't get enough. I usually order a No. 16 pho with rare steak. The iced coffee with condensed milk is delicious as well. It's a small family business, not a fancy restaurant. Service is pretty fast. Very nice people.

  • Kerenza N.

stopped in for a a late sunday lunch. we both had a regular bowl of the Pho Tai, Nam, Gau, Gan, Sach (with flank steak, tendon, and tripe), which was full of meat and the broth was delicious! we also split the ban mi, stuffed with all the pork, including head cheese, which was incredible, and i couldn't even finish my pho, i was so stuffed! and go ahead and get the iced milk coffee, you know you want it.

No, no, no...yuck! We stopped here one afternoon when we were on the West bank and were not in the mood for Texas Roadhouse. In general, I love Vietnamese and I have had Vietnamese all over the country as I often seek it out when traveling. Boston, Vermont, San Francisco, New York, Montreal, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Orlando, Miami...the list goes on. It's safe to say that I know Vietnamese food! This place does not rate at all. It is one of the worst Vietnamese meals I have ever had. When we arrived around 4-5 in the afternoon, the large, kind of dingy dining area was empty except one table. Now I know why. First, we had the fresh spring rolls. They were as expected and were about $6.95/4. There is no Vegetarian choice at all on the limited menu and the menu is very pork and beef heavy with a bit of chicken. I don't eat beef, so I had Chicken Bun with an egg roll. It was tasteless, greasy and grizzly. I ate about half and could not stomach the rest. The egg roll was soggy, not crispy and was so ground meat heavy that I could not stomach it and after one bite offered it to my partner who also thought it was gross and we left it uneaten (weird because he is British and loves meat pies and other general weird food!) My partner had Pork- I believe it was a pork chop plate with rice and a salad. His meat was all gristle and very, very low quality. It was so gross that he only took about 4 bites and left the rest. We paid our $30 check and left. People, save yourselves the trouble of a bad meal and choose to eat somewhere else. Even Pho Tu Bay which is close by is better than this place.

  • Rick F.

Rarely do I give a "bad" restaurant a second chance, in this city of many new places to go; BUT, I'm surely glad I did with this place. Our first visit here, shortly after opening, was a disaster. But, our Viet doctors at LSU Med kept insisting that "Pho Hoa" was really, really good; so we went back yesterday. It was really, really good ! We had fried "Spring rolls", Pho, and a pork sandwich; all were EXCELLENT. But, no beer available ! Still, this will be a place on our "regular stop" list, now.

This review is only for the chicken banh mi. My mom and I were really hungry and we were nearby getting a haircut at Trendy Salon and we saw this place while driving back to our hotel and decided to stop by and get a banh mi to go. OMG IT WAS GOOODDDD. It was so good I forgot to take a picture before we ate it. And it was only $4. That was $4 well spent.

  • Steve I.

Came here yesterday for lunch and the parking lot was completely full. My sister and I figured it's got to be good if lots of WB'ers are eating here. My sister ordered Bun Cha Gio. I ordered Pho Tai. I didn't really like my pho. The broth was rather bland. My sister said her food was ok. Other than the 18 or so pho varieties the menu is limited. With so many other choices around town I think I will choose another.

    (2)
  • David H.

I travel globally year round and try to find pho everywhere I go; I just haven't found pho better anywhere than at pho hoa right here at home. Not sure what it is about it, they just know how to make pho of all types good. I definitely recommend it!

  • Jen L.

I journeyed to this place for Pho with a bunch of friends and I was apprehensive since I had heard it was a very meaty place. Since I do eat seafood I was able to find something to eat. The staff was really nice about making something custom with noodles and shrimp and no beef or chicken broth. But that meant no pho for me. It is a cafeteria like space, so very no frills. This is probably more like a 3 star joint but they get bumped up a star for being accommodating to my food demands AND because the crab rangoon was delicious. Seriously, not overthick with cream cheese and the crab was present and tasty plus it was just a little spicy. Seriously, I might stop back by just for a to go order of crab ragoon.

  • Katherine L.

This is my favourite Pho place on the West Bank and better than any other place I have been to in New Orleans, and when I was working on the West Bank I was making some pretty regular visits. Yes, I'll have the number 1, but instead of tendon can I get more tripe? On another day I'll order the no. 27 or no. 28, just to spice it up a bit and add a bit of variety. I also love their egg rolls, but instead of the usual sauce, I request the sauce that goes with their crab rangoons. That sauce is amazing! I would couple my meals with a vietnamese coffee, lemon soda, or thai tea. All good. I noticed that they recently started a bubble tea menu, I'm going to have to try that soon. The Pho is great on 3 points. 1. Lots of noodles, 2. Lots of meats, unlike other establishments that might give you maybe 4 or 5 slices of meat, 3. The broth is great! It is good clear flavorful broth, not greasy like some other places I have been to. The service there is also good and very friendly. On a couple of occasions I had forgotten my wallet and the waitress told me not to worry about it and said I could pay the bill next time. Pho Hoa is my goto place for Pho!

Just moved here...have had Pho in many cities, but this by far was the best. Friendly atmosphere, decent pricing and clean.

The Tour Du Pho has been rolling along, and I was happy to attend the 3rd stop, Pho Hoa. If this gem was near my home, I'd stop in all the time. Great Pho, and a large drink selection (no booze). More stars will come when there's more seafood and vegetarian options...

Walking into this bare-walled restaurant, one can not help but think that they must be newly opened. Looking at the caked food on the floor, makes one think maybe they have been here forever. Turns out, they have been in this location just over 2 years (According to our waitress). Go figure. The girly and I ordered, I, of course, got the pho with tripe and tendon. The girly decided to be adventurous and order the one thing on the menu that didn't have fish sauce in it...the pork chop. My soup came out and had an ok broth. Strongly salty but doable. The tendon was a little...er...interesting, though. It was tendon, but was still connected to chunks of fatty and gristly meat. Hard to eat even for me. The girly's pork chop was kind of a disaster. It was a t-cut pork chop with mostly bone. It was over rice and came with a mostly over-cooked egg. It would have been extremely dry had it not been for the "dipping sauce"...sadly, fish sauce based. So she couldn't really do much with her pork chop. It also didn't come with any silverware. When we asked for a knife and fork (to at least cut what meat was on the pork chop, we were given a spoon. Well, that was CLOSE, I guess. Since the waitress never came back (at all) to check on our orders or refill our drinks, I walked up and waited for a good 5 minutes until someone stopped talking and i could get a knife. I may go back on my own sometime but I doubt I'd be able to drag the girly there without some kind of bribery. One thing that put them over 2 stars though...they are open from 7am to 7pm so I can get breakfast pho, which I really enjoy. Great way to start the day even if it's not the best pho around. But can you do us a favor? Hang a picture or something? I felt like I was in a monastery dining room or something.

Prices are very reasonable. Went w/ a $50 certificate & had to order two dishes to go to reach $50 bucks. We ordered........... Apps - Crab Rangoon (qty 4) which were very good, Springs rolls w/ beef (qty 4 halves) which were kind-of tasteless but good once you dipped them in the sauce Entrees - Shrimp & onions w/ a HUGE scoop of rice, small bowl of soup & a slice of tomato cut in half, two slices of cucumber & they called it a tomato cucumber salad. This is what I ordered two more dishes of to-go. I mixed the shrimp, rice & onions together & it was very tasty but it could have used more sauce for those who can't do plain white rice Entree - Pork meatball sandwich & this ginormous bowl of soup w/ endless noodles, pork, & flank steak. It came w/ this plate of these bean sprout things Before I ordered the two extra shrimp dishes our bill was $36. After the two add on's the bill went to $53 The service was ok. Not very many people there so you would think the one server would be all over her tables instead of lolly gagging. We will definitely go back and give other dishes a try

Best pho I've ever had, I prefer having beef balls, lots of jalapenos (the spicier the better), cilantro and a dash of lime. I had a banh mi from them before and it had too much mayo, Idk I prefer the banh mi from Hong Kong Food Market. The bubble tea is AWESOME, a litchi/strawberry mix is to die for! Service is standard, place looks clean.

Since I have never tried Vietnamese food before today I decided to throw caution into the wind and give this place a try. That and the traffic on the Westbank was freakin horrible! The first thing I noticed about this place was the service. They were not rude or mean, But they were not overly friendly either. They just seemed "friendly enough". The food I ordered (I can't even remember its name) consisted of the following ingredients in a bowl. Beans sprouts, cucumber, weird looking small white noodles, grilled shrimp with onions. and some dried vegetable material (possibly ginger). My meal also came with Vietnamese egg rolls. My main dish (whatever its name) was good but nothing spectacular. The egg rolls on the other hand were pretty good. The decor along with the food and service all can be summed up in one word,"Average". Given the fact that this is my first time eating Vietnamese food I may have just picked a mediocre restaurant. Seriously if anyone on here reads this review I am open to suggestions on which Vietnamese restaurant is good and what I should order off of the menu as well. In short this is an average restaurant that serves cheap food.

Pho Hoa has been in service for as long as I can remember, and I thought it was going to close forever when I came to its first location, but then was relieved they were just relocating. The pho they make does not disappoint. The service is great even when it's busy around the afternoon on Sunday. The price is definitely reasonable for how much is given in a bowl of pho. A lot of meat and noodles, so you'll be full for sure. I've been eating pho from Pho Hoa for about 13 years of my life with my family, and I wouldn't want to eat pho anywhere else.

I came in with a group of 4 and we all ordered the banh mi bo kho (beef stew with French bread). There were no meat in our soup. It was all fat. All of our bowls were still full when we finished. We complained and just got a "meh" from the cashier. Will not visit here again.

I've been sick for a few days and tonight I felt neither in the mood for cooking nor eating anything other than soup, so I drove my carcass here for some chicken pho take-out. What's better for curing plague than chicken noodle soup? I also picked up a pork bahn mi for my son, minus the paté and hogshead cheese, since I think the texture would throw him off. The pho wasn't the best in town, as their menu claims, but it wasn't awful, either. The broth on it's own was good, but when I added the other ingredients (rice noodles, chicken, onion, green onion, cilantro, basil, bean sprouts, jalapeño, and lime juice), the subtle flavors in the broth didn't stand up, so it ended up tasting a little bland. The hoisin/sriracha blend they sent me home with was delicious in it, in addition to some extra lime juice, fish sauce, and sriracha. My son's bahn mi was pretty good, as well. Overall, this place was pretty good, but Pho Tau Bay is still my favorite by far. If I'm too sick to cook on a day PTB is closed again, I would consider coming back.

I'm Vietnamese. I love pho. As far as this place goes, after a dozen tries (never my choice but of maybe someone else who's looking for a group setting for pho), I just can't recommend this place to anyone who has real, authentic, asian-food tastebuds. The broth is always so off, either salty, bland, or salty and bland. No matter what I'd put in it to try and amp up the flavor, it's always lacking. If it's the only thing open for pho,
