Pho Bang has the best pho I have ever had. I have only had pho one other time before, and at this point I may never have it again, but their version was incredible. My love affair with Vietnamese food is relatively new. It was only in the last year or so that I had even entertained the idea of trying Vietnamese. At first I started off very slowly by only eating bahn mi. It took me some time and the insistence of a friend to actually break down and try pho. My first bowl was OK, but didn't blow me away. Now that I have had t from Pho Bang, I would consider myself a fan. Pho Bang is an interesting restaurant. This location appears to be relatively new, but it isn't fancy. It seems to be very authentic and most of their customers were Vietnamese. I took that as a good sign. My meal began with grilled pork spring rolls. They were very large, and very good. The pork had a very nice almost smoky flavor that was very pleasant. My pho was the brisket and some other type of beef I cannot recall pho. The broth was perfectly seasoned and had a good depth of flavor unlike my bowl at a different establishment. I would love to be able to describe the flavor in more detail, but in depth descriptions aren't my specialty. But it was awesome. Service was acceptable, but refills were hard to obtain. Prices were very reasonable. It wold be very easy to get in and out for under $10 at lunch. I think this will become my go-to pho restaurant if I am ever able to eat pho again.

Any place that can make a tasty bowl of vegetarian pho for me is a pretty high in my book! In my experience, being a vegetarian at vietnamese restaurant is sometimes a challenge between the beef based broths and all the fish sauce everywhere. So, I was very excited to get a veggie pho with tofu here. It was packed on Saturday at lunchtime... which is always a great sign. Prices were good too.

Our family eats here for years. Today (Nov. 21,2014) 3 of us had 2 Pho noodle soup and a pork chop rice. My wife found a piece "used broken wooden tooth pick" in her Pho noodle soup. NEVER GO BACK HERE AGAIN. Very bad people.

I am a regular customer there for years, as I grow older and more experience with eating good ph. You need a lot of vegetables like beans spout and green leaf. They really disappointed tonight by given so little vegetables. I wasn't happy at all.

Great pho, first time eating pho was here and it was a great experience I will definitely be returning next time with friends !

There is better Vietnamese in the west bank. Not bad, but certainly nothing to get excited about

You can imagine how tired my family and I are of eating at the same restaurant every Sunday. We had heard a new Viet place had opened up Manhattan a few weeks ago, but when we passed by two Sunday's ago to try it they weren't open. They remained unopened for some days after that. We got the chance to try it out this past Sunday and left pleasantly satisfied. I guess it's a sign of relief to my parents being able to find a new joint to hit up Sunday after church. My parents each had a bowl of pho, while I had the shaken beef rice plate. I was so hungry from the festivities the days before that I cleared that plate away. The service was pretty quick, although they were busy and really had no time to peruse because you wanted your order to get in. The food came out in a timely manner which was a plus. They have a good amount of seating for guest that's divided into three separate rooms. Although I feel the table upon walking in could be moved because anyone who sits there is in the way of being brushed up by people who come in. I can't wait to go again this weekend and try out another dish or a bowl of pho!

All of the pho choices here are amazing, cheap, and delivered to us quite fast. Bubble tea here is also really good.

My first experience with Vietnamese food...I'm hooked! A buddy I was working with brought me. we were working a night shift and were tired of bacon and eggs for dinner. Pork spring rolls are so much better!! and then I had the number 21...bin something lol??? it was all awesome and the staff was friendly and attentive. I can't wait to get back!

This location is MUCH BETTER than the dingy motel and sketchy people hanging outside the convenience store at their Westbank Location, Note: They are the same owners as the Westbank's Pho Bang restaurant and the pho here is as good. The pho as always, is jam packed with meat (not the few beef shreds and fat you get at most pho places). Service was fast and you don't wait to be seated here, you sit your butt down and they'll bring you the menu, no BS chit-chat, order what you want, get it fast and you'll get a good solid pho. I've been here twice in a week since they opened, yeah it's that good, I am writing my review based on the pho, but if you order the pork with egg roll noodle dish, I'll rate that a 3, the pork meat was bad but the homemade egg rolls , veggies and noodles were SUPER tasty. Def will be back again but only for the pho ;)

Went to the West Bank for pho, but Pho Tau Bay was closed. Ended up here on a personal recommendation by a friend we ran into at Hong Kong Market. I've had better Vietnamese egg rolls, but the pho was superb, cheap too.

Excellent food at a great price. A little slow to bring the check but that might just be a cultural practice.

Nice location, but not as convenient for me since I live in Metairie. The menu items are the same as the Pho Bang on West Bank Expressway. I've been here a few times, and so far, it has been consistent. I really like the bun bo hue! Large bowl with a lot of noodles and meat! Too much meat for my liking though, I'm more of a plain noodle and soup person. The broth was flavorful, but I wish it were spicier. My brother had the com suon nuong (rice with grilled pork chops) and my sister had the com ga xao xa ot (rice with lemongrass chicken), which each came with a small side of soup. Both my siblings enjoyed their meal. I tried their soup and it was delicious and rich! My date got the bun thit nuong cha gio (vermicelli with grilled pork and egg roll), but he complained that there was not enough flavor or fish sauce to his dish. I tried one of the egg roll pieces, and it tastes a bit over cooked and dry. He thought the dish was average. Overall, I would keep coming to this location if I were over in the West Bank and crave Vietnamese food.

So my boyfriend and I came back here again after a busy and tiring morning. This is the most convenient spot for brunch, so I decided to give it another try I guess. Upon entering into the building, we were seated at a party of 8 table when we were only two persons. The same waitress who greeted us apologized and asked us to move to the table across which is another big table. Then, later another waitress transferred us to a smaller table all the way in the corner. As I walked towards the table, I couldn't help but noticed that the table was so small and tight. There are two chairs on each side. The left side chairs are so closed together to the other table. So I pulled my boyfriend over to the other side and told him that it is more comfortable to sit there. To my astonishment, a different waitress who waited on a table adjacent to us rudely... and I mean RUDELY yelled at my boyfriend and pointed to the left side of chairs I was avoiding and said,"Sit there!" (All because we blocked a walking path, and her indolent self didn't want to walk three foot steps ahead to the other entrance to bring us our orders). I stared at her with disbelief and immediately four words popped inside my mind, "Oh no she didn't?!" What type of customer service is that? As customers, we bring you business. Therefore, we should have the option to seat wherever we want in the table and do what makes us feel comfortable. At least we were nice enough to not make a big fuss when your employees transferred us three times. Plus, you hire servers for a reason. Their job is to be professional and treat customers with great satisfaction. With that being said, it means to SERVE all customers and sometimes willing to go an extra mile for the customer's convenience. We, as customers DO NOT need to do what you want for your own convenience. Or maybe go back to school learn some good communication skills and manners. A simple "Excuse me, can you please sit there because "insert reason" will make a big difference. This is not your house for you to be talking to customers with such rude demand. In the end, no tip, not even one cent on the ground for you to pick up.

Nothing like a nice bowl of pho before the big "snowstorm" that is supposed to shut down the city. Anywho this place is really, really good. The broth had a great flavor but naturally I had to spice it up a bit. My taste buds have been conditioned to prefer my foods a little spicier and heavily seasoned. I don't remember the actual type I had but I know that it had beef in it. Plenty of meat, noodles and toppings. The plastic chopsticks were a little hard to eat with but that may just be because my fingers have never really grasped the concept. I also had the grilled pork spring rolls and they completely rocked my socks along with the sauce they were served with. You get two for about $4.50 and the flavor is really great. I felt pretty rushed by the waitress when I first sat down to order but I guess that's just how they are there. Pretty no nonsense but she was still very nice. This place has my stamp of approval and i'll definitely be back.

Go Check out Pho Bistreaux... this pho was alittle plain and full of MSG.

The food was delicious, but the service sucks. It was packed today, full tables, we were first to come in and waiting for our table. so the first available table has six chairs so my friend went to go seat there. The waitress asked us were we first and we said yes because she was about to give that table to the group of people behind us. So they were unorganized. They should have a host to seat the customers. then as we were waiting on our food to come out, the waitress asked us if it will be okay for this couple to next at our table. What can i say? No? that was weird. so i said sure because i couldn't say no and it didn't really bother me to have few strangers seat at my table. I mean it was busy day today, but what the waitress did was very unprofessional. even though we had few empty chairs available doesn't mean you can allow other customers to sit with us. So she was unprofessional. Unless the place doesn't care about being professional. Overall, food was good, but the service is unorganized and unprofessional.

If you like Vietnamese, this place is good! I tried the "Bun Bo Xao" Grilled Beef with Rice Vermicelli and it was delicious. Highly Recommend!!!

My favorite spot on the Westbank by far. Their iced coffee gets me going - Love It! Spring Rolls - Amazeballs! Pho - Great, not so salty (which I like), very clean taste

Our favorite pho restaurant on the westbank! EVERYTHING on the menu is good! Clean, fresh food! It gets a little crowded on Sunday's around lunch but that's usually expected at a good pho place. The wait is never too long and the food is worth it! We always get an order of spring rolls (either the shrimp and boiled pork or the grilled pork, both are delicious!) and one will get pho and the other a rice dish to share since we can never decide and want both! (I wish they had a buffet). Service is always great and the food is always amazing! The pho is never too greasy and the rice dishes are always flavored so well! I love coming here for authentic Vietnamese cuisine!

JUST GO. I have gone to this Vietnamese restaurant numerous times throughout my entire life. I've been to its old location, Westbank expressway location, and Manhattan is my main bc I live near it. The new restaurant is beautiful. The location is smack on Manhattan and parking is always available. The pho here is amazing. Everything you'd expect pho to be like. It comes with lots of fresh veggies and bean sprouts and the tables come with the various sauces you can add to your bowl. I don't add hoison sauce or sriracha because the broth is amazing on its own. I can't really describe it, just try it! My little sister is as picky as it gets and to this day, the only pho she will eat is Pho Bang's or my boyfriend's mom's. Making pho takes a long time and my family would willingly do that, but we haven't made pho in years because we can come here and get it for a great price and fast. The Bun Rieu is delicious and perfect for lent/vegetarians. Bun Bo Hue is alright, but the flavor strays from what a traditional bowl would taste like. The thai tea is my favorite of all time! They are able to proportion the tea, dairy, and whip perfectly. I'd definitely recommend. All the other dessert/drinks are great too. The spring rolls aren't my favorite. Crab rangoon is!!! The vermicelli and rice bowls are delicious as well. Pho Bang is an overall fantastic restaurant. The food is aromatic and authentic and the service is AMAZING. The workers personally know my family and always ask how we are doing and make small talk. The only thing I would change is that the menu could offer a little more variety that other Vietnamese restaurants have, but it is a pho oriented restaurant so the five stars stand.

In short order I have found myself here alot in a month. It is really really good! My usual is a large bowl of pho nos. 12-14 Cant go wrong with them. I have had the chicken and its good, but I have this idea to eat that only when I am not feeling good. Nothing like chicken soup and this is turbo charged chicken soup!! The eye of round brisket is rolling ! I have had pho at several places on the westbank , but of them this one is really really good. I take into consideration the service speed and staff attitude as well. Being a fat American on the rush, they totally get me. I walk in, in .5 secs I am greeted and usually told to sit anywhere. In about a minute asked for drink order and food if I am ready. In under 5 minutes a huge beautiful bowl of steaming pho is in my face. A 15 min lunch is totally doable here. Also a quick glance around , at lunch time, you will see a wide mix of professions in here for the same reason. Fast wonderful food. Now if you have the time to linger and chew the fat , that is totally cool too. When it comes time to pay the bill, so far only once the super friendly and beautiful server mentioned she could take it for me. Usually I hop up and walk to the counter and pay. That looks like the norm anyways for pho places. If you find yourself on the WB and wanna try an quick bowl of pho for the first time or a seasoned fan of that and haven't been here yet, it is totally worth it and its fast!! Man, I could use some right now.....

What happens when you're craving pho at 9AM on a weekday? You drive over to the Wank! There was one other family dining when I arrived. My server/owner was sweet, fast and patient. I loved the broth and it was exactly what I was craving. I was happy there's two sizes offered in case you didn't quite need an urn of broth. When I'm needing an urn of broth, I'll be back :-)

Great Pho! Great portions and quick, friendly service. Will be going back for sure. My children both got the noodles with beef. They liked it but wanted more flavor on the noodles (they didn't use the chili sauce provided). My husband and I got the pho and we were both very pleased. Super yummy and we were provided with the extra condiments to add to our pho for our unique flavor we were looking for. We also started out with then egg rolls and everyone enjoyed them.

THE STATE OF PHO (fuh) It's that time again for our monthly rendezvous with Rice B. and her "Silent Partner." It was originally planned a month prior to visit Terrytown's Hong Minh Noodle House which had fabulous reviews along with "broke your mouth" (Hawaiian slang: yummy) food pictures. Unfortunately they left to go west in the direction of California according to the mailman. We were too hyped for pho (fuh) and the closest Vietnamese restaurant on our bookmarked list was Pho Bang interpretation "The State of Pho" or perhaps Pho Kingdom. Cha Gio (fried rolls) served with stingy bits of lettuce... nice and crispy and filled with meat... most tasty especially dipped in their very mild (water diluted) sweeten fish sauce (nuoc num). Momo's hefty shoulder cut pork chop, egg cake, shredded pork and pan fried egg with soup... very tasty and most filling. Yu-go always get the bone. Yu-go 's Bun Bo Hue served with pig's knuckle and plenty of sliced beef... absent was both blood cakes, galanga shavings, and a very weak broth to meld the few ingredients It's winter which does impact the available varieties of basils. (assuming they offer a better variety when other basils are in season). Rice B. chose the Pho Dac Biet... she said Pho Bang served the best pho she has ever experienced in this region. Silent Partner said he preferred Lilly's pork chops... perhaps the absence of lemongrass would have been the difference maker. We also observed other diners who predominantly either ordered rotisserie chicken, grilled pork chops or pho. The ambiance is warm, welcoming... restrooms very clean and new. Hint that there was a profesional decorator in the mix with noticeable ceiling and wall trim plus well coordinated color scheme for flooring and walls. Service is old fashion Vietnamese which means minimal and pay at the counter.

I LOVE THE PHO HERE! Their broth isn't salty and their meat is very fresh! :D I'm from TX and I regularly eat Pho. The broth from Pho Bang is one of the best I've ever had. It's so yummy and it has just the right flavor. Pretty sad I won't be able to try this weekly :c Their prices are very reasonable for the serving + generous with their meat!

This was my first time here, I was timid because of one of their other locations is in a seedy location. I am so sorry that i waited to eat here. They have all types of Pho and other Vietnamese dishes. My wife ordered the flank and I ordered the chicken. They have options for large or small in each type. They broth was light and flavorful and not salty at all. I added my chili sauce and hoisin sauce and there was plenty of meat in both bowls. They have an amazing selection of beverages, from coffee to tea and bubble teas. I might just have a new favorite Pho place.

4/5 finally some quality! after seeing marielle check-in and her insta's, i had it on the shortlist. conveniently had a late meeting in algiers then it started raining = right time and right weather for pho! hustled over to manhattan (which conveniently also positioned me for a target trip after) and found this place bathed in fluorescent. once your eyes adjust, you grab a table and put in your order. i got everything except omasa (at first i couldn't figure out "omasa" and then she kindly informed me it was tripe, which, just too chewy). and i got some of the fried rolls, which arrived stuffed. like if there were double stuf options for rolls, these were it. no silly fillers, all yummy meat. then the pho. oh my. upon initial arrival, i just knew it was going to be good. you could just see it. slightly steaming, bright greens, smooth and pink meat, clear broth. emphasis on clear broth - i've found other spots serve up this muddled dark stuff and it just doesn't demonstrate quality. a good broth is clear and has a clean smell (if that makes sense). the noodles had the right bite, and i was impressed with the amount of meat in my "small" order, albeit a little on the fatty side. i'm already checking my calendar for my next round of westbank meetings so i can make another trip here!

Updating and bumping to five stars because not only do I now eat here once or twice a month, but it's my favorite place for Pho and I had the BEST PHO OF MY LIFE yesterday! So, let me start by telling you what I get. I go with #14 which is the eye of round and brisket. I have found that this combo has the most flavor and adds the most flavor to the broth. It's so amazingly good and for some reason, yesterday it was the best I have ever had. I mean, the best Pho I have ever had in my life! I have no idea what they did. It's always super good, but it was ultra good this time. I also get the pork rolls, which I really like because they include a huge piece of pork and are ultra generous with the greens. An order of spring rolls and a small bowl of Pho is definitely more than enough for lunch. Service here is always top notch and the staff is friendly and is always eager to make sure that everything was to your liking, I am here all the time, so of course I will be back over and over again.

Great Pho, I've tried a number of other Pho places in the area and they were all pretty good. But Pho Bang is the Best!! Very nice people, great facility, free Wifi, plenty of parking, and a big screen TV on CNN news or the "Game of the Day". While I usually get Pho, the non-soup items on the menu are also great. Try the Grilled Pork Chop with a fried egg on top!! The clientele is usually about 50% Asian people, getting some home cooking!! Some Extra information: my observation is that Pho houses generally do not bring a check to the table. They keep all the bills at the cash register (who uses cash anymore?) and customers just get up and walk over to pay on the way out. I guess it's a cultural difference.

Not as good as the one on the Westbank Expressway but better than the one on Veterans in Metry. Decent broth, decent portions but as another poster mentioned, there is better Vietnamese food on the West Bank.

Pretty good pho, they also have bubble tea which is a huge plus for me. When it comes to pho i usually stick to rare flank with meatballs. For bubble tea i got strawberry lychee with jelly and boba. There are two sizes of pho there, regular and large. In my mind the large isn't for just one person, i had to force myself to eat the rest of the regular (delicious but had some left over). The waitress had a very thick accent so it was hard for me to understand her but she was nice and was very attentive. The decor irks me, imho it's not bright enough. With everything considered I'd definitely be back if pho hoa was closed for the day.

Came here for dinner tonight, it was pretty good! One of the better pho places I've tried! Perfect for a quiet evening out as it was not crowded. Ordered the crab Rangoon as an appetizer and it was delicious. I got the tofu pho, my first time trying it. I did not love the tofu, but the broth was delicious! Our waitress was very sweet, but not very attentive. I'm not sure if we were supposed to get up to order, so that could be our fault. The owner ended up checking up on us a few times and was very helpful, she even boxed our food up herself! Will definitely be revisiting this place again, but trying a different pho.

Best Pho on the westbank by far!! The spring rolls are really amazing too!

The broth was very good and rich. There was a lot of meat, more than I'm used to from local places. In fact I had about 5 or 6 pieces left over when I finished the noodles and broth. Service was fast and prices were good. I will be back.

So once the Pho frenzy became the next band wagon thing for people to try, I too was skeptical about trying this stuff. No idea what it was but I wanted something to eat with friends be they Vietnamese or anything else. So I tried this place because it's near my house and wow I was upset at what I was missing out on for so long. This is amazing. So this place Pho Bang is really nice really chilled spot to come eat. A lot of seating and a lot to eat also. The pho is actually very good in my opinion. Most Vietnamese people I know critique all these places and say that this one is one of the best places to eat. The broth is perfect for pho, but I mean who can beat these prices for pho? I'll continue to come here because it is the best place that I eat pho and the bubble tea drinks are pretty on point also.

A more limited menu than I'm used to at other Westbank Pho restaurants, but what they serve is very, very good. I knew what I wanted, but I was getting takeout to bring home and had no idea what to get the husband. The woman working the counter made a suggestion, and he loved it, so yay for that. Mine was excellent as well. I still prefer Tan Dinh and Pho Tau Bay, but this place is closer to my house for a quick Pho takeout night. Also, super cheap prices, but that seems to be the norm with pho over here.
