This place is incredible, I look so forward to this place every time I'm in Hammond! The service is superb, and the food, oh man the FOOD! Albasha made me fall in love with Mediterranean food.

They completely lost our order. After 20 minutes of waiting and us asking for the check, they finally acknowledged our existence telling us that our waitress was clocking out and they didn't know where our ticket went in the kitchen. Poor poor service for a not so busy restaurant.

Really can't say anything bad about this place. The food is great!!! The service is nice and the shrimp kabob plate is phenomenal. I eat here at least 3-5 times a month.

Love this place. They use garlic by the pound. The shawarma is outstanding as are the gyros.

This is beyond fantastic! I had the Kabob Gyro Combo and a cup of Lentils soup. It was fantastic! Service is really good, and the place is very welcoming.

Great service. Decent menu. Fried cheese appetizer was phenomenal. Their chicken shwarma was great. You have to try their Lebanese tea.

This place is great! I was in the area desperate for a vegan option and decided to try this place out -- not only do they have delicious hummus and the standards ... falafel, baba, mujadarah ... perhaps my favorite thing is their delicious, creamy, 100% vegan garlic dressing - ask for this on your salad instead of cheese/dairy. it's garlic, olive oil, and lemon and simply amazing. Affordable prices and friendly staff too.

Service was very slow. I have been there three times and the service has not been what I expected.

We ate here on 20 June 2012 with my family ranging in ages from 10-77 years old. We were passing through and spent the night and I wanted my family to experience this food since I had the chance in Doha, Qatar in 2004 and loved it then and still love the food. We ordered the mixed platter of samples to include humus, grape leave wraps, pita bread, chicken strips and a few other items. Cost of platter to feed 4 was $25. Very reasonable and well worth the cost. We loved the food and even brought the leftovers to eat. Reminded me of being back in Doha. Yes, it was that good. I am no expert but seriously give this restaurant a try and you will experience some great food as my family did. Ashley our waiter staff was very nice and prompt in taking care of all of our needs. The restaurant starting to get busy after being there a half hour which was a good sign. Bon Appetit!

Consistent good Mediterranean cuisine. Quick and affordable. Always pleased with the gyro and chicken plates. They also give a student discount.

I love Mediterranean food in general, but I am coming to believe that the Lebanese are the great chefs of the Mediterranean world. The food here is outstanding - moist, green falafel that is a mouthful of flavor and the same can be said of every dish I had - moist and delicious! Highly recommended if you are a lover of this type of food.

WOW! Delicious. I just moved to Louisiana from California and was SO excited to find healthy and fresh food. Falafel with salad (not made with iceberg lettuce) and excellent hummus, side of tzatziki, lentils and rice, and fried haloom cheese with garlic oil. Ahhhh- my mouth is watering as I type. I will return whenever I am in Hammond.

Best Mediterranean food I've ever had! We wanted to try it all so we got the Albasha's Meza which is a taste of everything for 2. Sooooo Goooood!!! We also ordered tiramisu and baklava which were both delicious!! Service was very friendly and helpful!

Great food. Friendly staff. The only reason I give four and not five stars is because bar service is a hit or miss.

We have been eating Greek food here for years. I would give it 5 stars but they started charging for extra pita bread :( So ridiculous! Also seems the portions are smaller. The salad dressing is good and then just off at times. Same thing with the rice. Often overcooked. Be sure to specify if you like your lamb juicy or chicken crispy. The food is good overall. So we continue to go. Seems as if they need a revamp in management. Trying to be stingy and cut corners... shows in the food. :-/

It's hard to find foods of different cultures in Hammond, but I'm so happy Albasha is here! Every time I come here, I have a good experience. The service is good. They don't go above and beyond, but sometimes servers that are rarely seen or heard from are preferred while enjoying a great meal. Any lamb or gyro plate is delicious! I'm not a food expert when it comes to Mediterranean food, but I love the cook on most dishes here!

Consistently good food. Albasha's is more Lebanese than Greek but very good all the same. I have been eating at Albasha for over 20 years and I have to say they are one of the most consistent restaurants around. They are all located in strip malls and pretty consistent with their casual décor at all of the locations. The Hammond location is no exception when it comes to the amount and quality of food served. The shrimp spinach salad and shrimp kabobs are amazing and satisfies the Cajun in me every time. The eggplant mousaka and baba ganoush have always been favorites as well as the Lamb shank which literally melts in your mouth. Cabbage rolls and grape leaves are moist and seasoned with just the right amount of seasoning. The Albasha platter is the perfect size for two people (we always opt for the chicken and gyro) and offers a varied choice of sides. The mezza for two will feed my family of 4 and we are all very satisfied with our options and substitutions can be made to any of the menu items. They also offer vegetarian platter with lots of veggie options so you can create your own plate.

This place was way better than I expected. I ordered the combination chicken and gyro plate. Both were cooked to perfection. My entree came with rice, salad, and hummus. All were great! Chicken was juicy and flavorful and the gyro was so good, especially with the onions. This place is definitely worth a shot.

Amazing !! My favorite thing to get is the Gyro plate , ask for Lebanese Tea if you like the taste of tea and citrus !!

I've eaten here twice now and both times have been great. Food is very flavorful, the staff is nice, friendly and helpful. Just be sure to bring your appetite! Portions are huge here, which makes the average prices even more reasonable... you get two meals for the price of one.

I can honestly say one of the best Greek places I've tried. I was in Hammond visiting an old high school friend. Her birthday was coming up so the lot of us wanted to treat her out for dinner since we were in town. The restaurant is located in one of the nicest complexes I've seen. It was a Saturday night and it was pretty lively around the area. Ulta and Target right across the parking lot and the cutest little yogurt shop across from the restaurant. We were seated immediately upon arriving right by the door. The appetizers were simply delish and the entree was even better. I think we were starving because we all wiped our plates clean. Although a few of us might have licked it too! Two of the girls snuck off to let the waitress know we had a birthday and they brought her a plate of baklava. Overall, I'd recommend this place definitely if you're in that part of Hammond. I thought about Greek food for a month after I left. So you can say it was a total success!

The food here is mouth watering goodness! Perfect blend on the gyros sandwiches! Yum yum yum. And the grape leaves? Spectacular! The staff is always very friendly and just attentive enough. You get plenty of food and it's affordable too. The only teensy tiny complaint I have is that the outside seating is ridiculously uncomfortable. Just sit inside and enjoy!

Awesome food. Very kind, professional servers. Highly recommend lamb kabob plate. Almost too much food for me but I eat it every time.

Had an excellent dinner at Albasha In Hamilton Square. I give it five stars except for the fact that the hamburger we ordered was a big Processed slab of meat, But then it's a Greek and Lebanese restaurant and not a hamburger joint. The stuffed grape leaves were excellent And hot, and tzatziki Was good too, but it was made with sour cream as well as with yogurt. Other than those two things, the meal was fine, Caitlin did a wonderful job taking care of us, and it was a nice restaurant.

This is my favorite greek restaurant chain. I've actually been to five of their locations now, and most recently tried out Hammond. Very nice! The service was great, very attentive staff. The food was delicious as always. They serve huge portions, but somehow manage to be reasonably priced. If you're looking for a food recommendation, every meat-eater I know is in love with their Chicken Shawarma salads and plates. I personally go for the falafel - mmMMM! They have awesome hummus too. Nice place to go before catching a movie at AMC Hammond Palace theatre, or after a day of power-shopping in Hammond Square.

Excellent food and excellent service. This is one of my favorite places to eat. The staff are always friendly and accommodating and the portion sizes on everything are huge. A friend and I can split a combination platter to dave on cash and still have leftovers to take home. I also highly recommend the tiramisu - best I've found anywhere.
