We stopped here on our way through town. It was highly rated on yelp. It really lived up to the rating. I think everyone in town, including the local police, were there. The service was great and very timely. I had the stuffed fried avocado. It was really unique tex-mex - very cheesy!! It comes with chicken tortilla soup which was very different, yet delicious! My friends got steak fajitas and nachos. All was great. I'm a bit of a foodie and I really liked it. I would definitely go back!

Service was great!! Great atmosphere. Food was really great. I had a stuffed avocado with cheese and chicken, then it was fried, oh so good. Hubs had a chimichanga, he said it had to much cheese but was still really good. Kids all thought the rice was great. Salsa was really good and not too hot.

I have been a customer since they first opened. The food is always great! They have lost a few of our favorite waitstaff. The only reason that I don't give 5 stars on this review is because of the current staff. The manager is very rude! He yells at some of our favorite waiters for being friendly. The last few times that we have gone there, our waiter was not good at speaking English. Therefore, the orders do not come out as ordered. I even pointed on the menu to show him what I was ordering to verify clarification. My jalapeno burrito (which is a menu item "jalapeno donkey")was served to me, absent jalapenos. This is not the first time orders are wrong due to the language barrier. The manager is very rude if you try to get the food that you actually ordered. The food is always excellent but the environment is going downhill.

Best Mexican in the small towns of deridder and leesville. Salsa is great and love the fried avocado and fish tacos.

Excellent as always- a little expensive for DeRidder- but if you don't want to drive to Lake Charles it's worth it.

Delicious! Was worried the Mexican food in a small town would be no good... Boy was i mistaken! The chips & salsa was great, the fajitas was great, the service was great, and the food came out fast!

We had dinner here & everything about it was great. It wasn't busy, so we were seated immediately. My margarita was huge & my husband had a draft beer which was replaced exactly when it needed to be. I had the stuffed avocado...delicious. He had the chicken diablo which was also very good. The chicken tortilla soup was different from what I had seen before, but very tasty. We will be coming back.

Got the beef tacos al carbon and they were decent. The salsa had zero spice so I asked if they had anything spicier. The waitress had them make me a spicy batch that was much better than what they give out standard. It made the dish a lot better. Otherwise being from Texas I have to say this was very average.

This is hands down the best Mexican food in the West Central LA area. The remodel of the building has also added that extra flair to an already awesome menu of food.

My favorite place to eat. The Sangria Margarita is my favorite drink to order and I have yet to try something I did not like. The staff and owners are wonderful.

The food here was decent but nothing to get excited about. I thought the pictures in these yelp reviews made the food look much better than it tastes. I ordered the rib eye fajitas cooked medium rare. The rib eye that I received was well done. The horror! I definitely have a strong perference for medium rare steak, but it is a pet peeve of mine when a restaurant asks me how I'd like it cooked only to completely ignore my request. That points to either a poorly trainined kitchen staff or the waiter didn't really care how I wanted it cooked in the first place. Either of those reasons is enough for me to find other options for dinner. Other than the issue I'll refer to as "meat-gate", the food was a little under seasoned for my taste. The fajitas were served with the standard mexican rice and refried beans which were also forgettable. The only part of the meal I would recommend was the chuncky avocado salad. It was a touch heavy on the lime juice, but was very bright and refreshing. Feel free to check this place out for standard Mexican fare. Just be sure not to set that expectation bar too high.

I was born and raised in San Diego and am real picky when it comes to "Mexican Food". This is one of the best restaurants I've eaten at anywhere in the country! And I do a lot of traveling. I could make a meal out of the chips and salsa alone, but try anything and you won't be disappointed. My favorite: Enchiladas Verde with shredded chicken.....with a little salsa poured on top.....mmmmmmmm!

Best Mexican food in the area. Careful with the salsa and queso, they're so delicious you may find yourself unable to stop munching. The cheese enchiladas use the most perfect combination of cheese ever. Service is fast and friendly. And the margaritas are pretty darn big. The only drawback is that the building is kind of small so when it's busy it's kind of tight.

Hands down, best authentic Mexican food in the area, even beats out Mucho Mexico in my opinion! Not a huge place but the food is top notch, margaritas are pretty good as well. If you like Mexican or Tex-Mex, you owe it to your taste buds to give this place a try!

Great tasting dishes and will feed at least two adults. Try the "Dirty Donkey!" Service is pleasant. I did not give a 5th star because of the atmosphere. The temperature varies at different locations in the restaurant, which results in some hot spots during warm weather.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
