Ok... Love Boba teas... I wake up craving them. Recently started a new job in Covington and was excited to see that there was a restaurant near by that served them. Whomp whomp whomp... Disappointed. I got the mango one and this is the first time I've had a boba tea that tasted SO artificial. The ice is crunchy... Tapioca isn't cooked (they really put uncooked tapioca in my drink). And it's just not what I'm use to... My day of excitement has been crushed... Unlike this ice.

Love this place! The restaurant is located in a strip of other businesses so parking is limited but other than that, I love this place. The food is always great and there is hardly ever a wait. If you love Pho, you need to try this place out. The portions are very generous and the price is very low. You get more than what you pay for at Pho An. Highly recommend. It's easily the best Vietnamese restaurant in the Mandeville/Covington area.

The bun Bo hue here isn't the traditional Vietnamese way of preparing it but I like it better than any other place I've tried, the spicy broth is much more flavorful and spicier than other restaurants. The rice dish with chargrilled chicken was great as well, the soup that comes with the rice dishes is very tasty also. I have eaten here quite a few times and have never been disappointed.

Décor of authentic restaurant in Vietnam and good pho. I just wish it was better. The service is the main disappointment -- I always hate when I'm made to feel that my mere presence is an annoyance to the staff. The most troubling is that as I was finishing up my pho, I saw the waitress deliver a bowl of pho to another table and leave it with the customer sitting there. Apparently she left it at the wrong table because she came back a few minutes later to take it away to deliver it to another customer's table who seemed unaware of the mix up. I don't know about you, but if I was that second customer I think I'd want a fresh bowl of soup.

Bubble tea was my reason for stopping, but it wasn't the greatest. The tapioca balls were watery, some tasted sour & some were frozen. I also grabbed some spring rolls. I'm not quite sure what the ingredients were. One or two bites and I was done. Friendly staff, quick order preparation & ample parking.

DINER FROM NEW ORLEANS * Leelykiss * 1 Review My daughter and I went there for dinner and it took 5 minutes for her to get off the phone and hand us menus. She talked friendly to my kid till I said she is half Vietnamese. A frown came on her face asked what we want. She gave us our food but didn't serve us drinks. The whole time there never asked if we are doing good and didn't bother to our existence. I waited for the ticket she never brought it to us. I got my kid and went up to register still didn't want to check us out. Waited 7 mins till she was done to pay. An ugly frown and a rude dismal when done. I suggest if u have a half Asian kid don't go there to eat unless you like rude and ignorant service

My review is based on the 3 times i visited and only the food i ordered. My first visit, i ordered #32 (com tam bi suon cha trung) and #29 (bun cha gio thit nuong). I thought these are the food you can't mess up if you claim yourself to be a Vietnamese restaurant. When my plate came out, it was missing bi and cha. Just in case you are wondering, they are the shredded pork skin and Vietnamese version of meat loaf (steamed). I asked the lady in Vietnamese, thinking she got my order incorrectly. She gave me the look and sent the Vietnamese cook to speak to me. He explained that they only served "suon & trung" on the rice plate even though they listed 4 items. I'm fine with that, now that i know what's going on. Both items were not great. The grilled meat were little dry and the fish sauce was a bit sour for the vermicelli bowl. I put this place on the back up list, just in case i'm craving for Vietnamese food and don't have time to make it at home. My 2nd visit, i only ordered the vermicelli bowl. This time, the meat was still dry. My 3rd visit, i orderd #32, #29 again and mango boba drink. The bobas have the weirdest texture. It's so mushy on outside and a bit hard in the inside, not the consistent chewiness at a good boba place. Not only that, the color was faded after a few minutes (see attached pictures). As for the service, it was horrible. I got the usually unfriendly faces from the ladies. But this time, it got worse. The first lady bluntly told my 7 years old son to move so she put some more chopsticks in the holder at the end of the table. Excuse me! Can't you do that before or after we leave? She told us, the other lady would come and take our orders. Well, the other lady didn't, not until she came and took the order of another couples who just came after us. I've been to many authentic Vietnamese and Chinese restaurants, and have seen many with unfriendly service. As long as the food is good, i can endure the unfriendliness. This Pho An place have neither good food nor good service. I won't be coming back here even when i'm craving for Vietnamese food.

Good pho. HORRIBLE SERVICE! Yesterday was the last time i will ever eat at this restaurant that i have been a loyal customer to. I normally do not care about the lack of service because of how much I enjoy the food but this was the last straw. Yesterday i ate my food and still had plenty pho left to take home. I asked the waitress for a to-go container and when i was boxing it up i poured pho all over myself. Immediately the staff started to laugh hysterically at me and NOONE offered me a towel, asked me if i was okay, or provided ANY kind of help! This was unbelievable to me. I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN! If you want good service go somewhere else. HORRIBLEEEEEE!

I probably would have given them 2 stars if I would at least get a smile. You think that they would try to be friendlier since (2) NEW PHO restaurants are opening within a mile in the next couple of weeks. It's no wonder I don't mind traveling to NOLA for better PHO for less $. Sorry, no pictures... you wouldn't see much food anyways.

I love boba tea drinks and saw this place sells them. I'm use to most authentic vietnamese places using real fruit or a juice concentrate. This place uses powdered flavoring and my tea was undrinkable I had a chalky aftertaste and not only that my avocado tea tasted like it has a sour taste. I had ordered 3 different flavors because my kids like them too and after we left the place we trashed all the drinks. Will never go back.

The food here is absolutely amazing. It's consistently been the best restaurant in the area. You might call the service quirky, But that's only because you don't understand the culture of these people. Try calling the "Mama" or "Auntie" and see how quickly your service improves!

Pho An was the first Vietnamese restaurant that I have ever eaten at so I couldn't compare it to any other place. I then noticed a second Vietnamese restaurant opened up, Pho Saigon, so I was super excited and I really enjoyed the different taste and items they offered that Pho An didn't have. I LOVE to try what would be considered to some as unusual, strange or even nasty so when I found out that Pho Saigon offered tripe and blood cake I was so hooked! I stopped by my original Vietnamese restaurant today Pho An since it had been a while just to see if their flavors have been changed or even touched up A bit so while I was in there I asked again if they had tripe and they said no that someone else also asked that the other day said they may have to start adding that to their menu. I hope if you're reading this that you would definitely consider doing this and also having the blood cake I would even like to try other parts of the offel, heart , brains , liver , etc.... Just a thought .... I have never had Pho with any of those bits, but I do watch the travel Channel where they eat food from other countries , Asia & it just looks so tasty to me!

Expensive. They did not give me the extra-meat i asked and paid for in my pho bowl. The service was slip shod. It was a bother to them to be asked for napkins and spoons. Service bordered on surly. The soup broth was uninspiring. Chicken broth with a little red pepper paste added. That was no Hu thieu. Spring rolls were good but $6.00. That is an exceptionally high price and I've gotten them all over the country. Even the "fresh" basil for the pho was day old and withered. Jesus even the tiny tea pots only held a cup's worth AND it was not even hot. I will never go back. Pho-get it. It is no big surprise this place was empty at lunch time. Lame food, high prices, bad service.

Pho An had good food, but quirky service. Vietnamese food is still relatively new to me. Since trying it a few months ago, I have tried several restaurants in New Orleans, but wished there was something closer to home. While driving to Covington the other day, I saw the Pho An sign and knew I had to give it a try. We were immediately greeted, seated and given menus upon arrival. The first oddity was that they do not serve alcohol. It wasn't a big deal, but did seem odd. The second was that there was no kids menu. I lucked out that my kids were willing to try some of the items, but the lack of a kids menu, limits their customer base. I noticed a sign prominently displayed advertising their bahn mi. Unfortunately when I tried to order one, they told me they didn't have any. What they did have was spring rolls, bun and pho. Spring rolls - The spring rolls were very good. They contained both pork and shrimp. That combination seemed odd, but worked well together. Bun- I tried the vermicelli noodles with eggrolls and pork. This is one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes. Their version was good, but not as flavorful as some of the others I have had. It seemed like the pork may have been stir fried rather than grilled. Pho - I still don't understand why people in South Louisiana eat this during the summer. Their version is a giant bowl and was good, but I need to try it again during the winter. The only way to describe the service was that it was odd. The servers were acceptable, but were kind of standoffish. In summary, while not as good as some of the New Orleans Vietnamese restaurants, Pho An did have good food. Since it is the only place in town, I am sure i will be back.

I introduced 2 of my coworkers to pho here! I got the number 6. It was good! It's not as good as other places I've tried, where they throw in tons of other meats and vegetables including tripe. It was plainly just noodles, soup, and slices of meat (which weren't very tasty). However, despite the missing add ons, it was still pretty good and my coworkers enjoyed it.

Love this place! Not a whole lot of ethnic choices here in Mandeville /Covington but this one tops my list. Not a huge menu here but a lot of different variances on Pho. But I love Pho, so this is a great place for me. and you can get out the door with your wallet still intact.

Can Never Leave This Place Happy! First time I went, they overcharged me by $2 for my Pho. 2nd time I went there, I was looking forward to having Spring Rolls and their sandwich, Banh Mi Xa Xieu. I was told they had nothing but Pho as their were short handed. 3rd time I went, they didn't have the smoothie flavor I wanted, let alone the next 3 flavors I asked for. Tonight, I went there with my 3 children and I ordered 2 bowls of soup and 2 sandwiches. The bowls of soup are big and only come in one size so I was having us share it between the 4 of us. I requested 2 small empty bowls for sharing. Upon paying for my bill, I found that I was charged $1 for each empty bowl I asked for! I wasn't even told about this nor did it state it on their menu that their would be a "sharing" charge! I've decided that even though this is the only Vietnamese restaurant on the North Shore and the food is pretty good when they have it, the next time I want Vietnamese food, I'm heading to Metairie. I'd rather pay the $3 toll for the causeway then for the underhanded service at this place! Plus, better service, better prices & better food at PHO Nola!

I love Pho restaurants, they're hard to find, so finding this one on my monthly route was a joy. Pho An has only been open 2 months; This is my first review, & I feel obligated to do so, just to help keep this place going - so I can treat myself. Food is great, people are nice, & it's quaint. The only drawback to this place is the parking - you have to park around the side, unless your lucky enough to get the 2 spots in front. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

First off let me say I've only been to a couple of Pho places ever, one in San Diego and one in Georgia. I thought they were both very good. I took my Father and we both ordered different Pho's, I tried both and all I could taste in the the broth was ginger, it was overpowering. The beef in mine was just OK and the chicken in his was a little better. I gave it a low rating based on the ginger tasting broth. Now not being a Pho expert maybe that's the way Pho broth is suppose to taste, and me not caring much for ginger equals low rating.

Don't waste your time/money on this place. I ordered a large bowl of the deluxe Pho and it was a joke! WHERE'S THE BEEF?! it seems the amount of beef is for a kiddie bowl! Not a true Pho restaurant..no wonder there are hardly anyone in there..

I finally gave in and tried this place because there's no other Vietnamese restaurant within a 30 mile radius. The owner and staff were friendly. The restaurant is nice on the inside and has a quaint atmosphere. Parking is shared with the rest of the building/strip mall and isn't too tight if not all places are busy. I ordered the combination pho with everything in it. The broth was very fragrant and flavorful. I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the taste. The meat and "fixin's" that came with it were very small portions. It is not as generous as other resturants. It is also priced a bit higher, but this is Covington. This was to be expected. The other dish I ordered was the rice plate with pork chops, fried egg, and meat quiche. The taste of the chops was not as good as other places I have had it, but acceptable. The pork was a bit overcooked. The quiche was absolutely dry and bland though. This is a very common and popular dish in terms of VIetnamese food, and I was disappointed that it wasn't tasting the way it should. If you grew up eating Vietnamese food like I did, you'll find this place a "so-so" substitute and doable for what cravings you may have. If you are fairly new to this cuisine, you'll enjoy it! It's a good starter place. I haven't tried enough to determine whether it's the cook who sucks or it is being mild "American-ized" food for a reason. I am willing to give one more try before swearing off everything but the pho. BTW the owner of this place also runs the Osaka restaurants, so you know they are sucessful in their ventures. They are not Vietnamese, but it appears the cooks are. I hope things improve with time.

The fresh spring rolls are a good pick and #29! The pork may have some fatty spots. I just picked those out and kept going! Staff is friendly and prices are fair.
