The grilled shrimp caesar salad was so good! I love how quaint this place is. Love meeting friends here for lunch!

Yum! So glad one of my friends told me to go here. We need one in Baton Rouge. You don't have waiter service. You order at the counter. I don't even drink tea, but their tea selection was great. I really enjoyed the key west cooler. Everything looked amazing on the menu. I got the vegetarian quesadillas. They were a little greasy but sooooo good. Can't wait to try some different next time I'm there. It came with a salad. It was okay. My sister got the Reuben. I don't eat those but it looked awesome and she said it was enjoyable. My mom had the chicken pesto sandwich and it was great as well. We wanted to go the stuffed artichoke but they don't carry that anymore. Their patio is really cute! Keep up the good work!

Just like the one in Mandeville.. Nicer view with outside seating. Very cool place with great, fresh food!

Super impressed. Good food at a great price. Between four of us, we ordered a Caesar salad, Alfredo pasta, and a quesadilla, everything was super tasty. Great price, great service, great atmosphere, and great food! An awesome reason to visit downtown Covington.

Came here with a coworker and we both got the chicken quesadillas. They were delicious. The tea is amazing as well. The staff are very friendly and the cafe is nice and relaxing.

Okay, I am fairly new to the area and I have already eaten here three times - it's so delicious! It's pretty reasonably priced as well, you can get a seared tuna sandwich for under $9. The only downside is if you go during a rush (anytime after 11:45a-3p) you may be standing around waiting for a table for a bit. So far my favorite has been the Tandoori Tuna sandwich, followed by the poppy chicken sandwich. The combination of flavors is just amazing. I have told myself every time I am going to try something from their extensive salad menu, but I always end up getting a sandwich - they haven't let me down yet! Not to mention their chips are great too! ...don't even get me started on that dessert case...yum.

Coffee Rani was always one of my first stops when I lived away and was back for a trip. It is a great local spot in downtown Covington that caters to a "women who lunch" crowd. The salads are very large portions. My other favorites are the croissant club and the quesadilla. After you order at the counter, you can pick up your silverware and some fresh bread. The bread is amazing and should not be missed. They serve Zoe bakery desserts but you won't need dessert here. The service is always a little lacking, but I'm wiling to overlook that. Lunch time can be a challenge to find a table so go a little early or later to ensure a calmer room. The outdoor area is nice, but let's face it, it is too hot 8 months out of the year to fully enjoy it. It isn't advertised as much but they will do catering sized orders. I've ordered giant trays of both pasta and salad for dinner parties (yes, I'm aware that is cheating).

I frequent with my family. They offer consistently superior dishes from lunch to dinner. They have a unique niche that sets them apart. Great people, great food, and great service

So yummy!! This charming little cafe is in downtown Covington but they have a Mandeville location as well. I love this location because of the outdoor seating in lovely downtown Covington. They serve a variety of sandwiches, burgers, quesadillas and pasta bowls but I always get one of the salads. The salads are colossal and so delicious. I like the Magazine Salad which has egg, bacon, cheese and chicken salad. They serve it with bleu cheese dressing and it's really great. My favorite, though is the Curried Chicken Salad. Oh my GAWD, y'all. It is so so so good. Chicken, apples, grapes, raisins, walnuts, toasted coconut and curry dressing. It's positivly addictive. In fact, I think they put crack in it. They should change the name of it to Curried Chicken Crack Salad. Yummmm!

My boyfriend and I came in for a quick dinner. We were not impressed. We both got salads and they were not good. I feel like we wasted our money. I have had catering before and it was amazing. I have family who love eating here. I must have had the wrong thing.

This is a nice small quaint place in small town Covington. It is a quintessential small restaurant to get sandwiches and coffee. The lunches here are great and the menu is surprising robust. Sit outside if the weather permits.

Great salads. Burger needs work, bun was dry and burger was just plain. Call it a 'sysco' burger, but that seems to be the norm on the Northshore, no one wants to make their own burgers!

The food and coffee is a healthy and delicious treat! Although a little pricey for lunch. My favorite is the shrimp pesto salad.

My mother and I had Ash Wednesday lunch here, so I'm long overdue to review it. I had the mushroom burger. It was delicious and their yellow jasmine vines were blooming, which made it very nice to take advantage of their lovely outdoor seating. We should have taken a table on the Lee Lane side instead of the Boston St. side of the wrap-around (porch? deck?) because the traffic is a bit much. I went here again with a cousin for bruch last week. I had a single egg sardou. It was good and the prices are right here for brunch and there are limited brunch options on the Northshore. I have to say, though, I'd much rather sit down and be served at brunch than do the cafe-ordering thing. The cafe-ordering thing is fine for lunch but I'm feeling lazier before noon on a Sunday. Anyway, this is a reccomended place. They have a Weight Watchers menu and some vegetarian options (like the mushroom burger I had). It is pretty location, too. /I had accidentally placed this under the Magazine St. Location but it is for the Cov. location.

This place is sooo adorable! The atmosphere both inside and outside is AMAZING! Clean, but not stark. The girls who work there are amazing, and the FOOD! Also, does this have any relation to the famous Cafe Rani? I got the Pesto Crusted chicken without tomatoes, and it was so delicious. The bread was decadent, and perfectly toasty and crisp, yet warm and soft. The chicken was fabulous, and the pesto wasn't too garlicky (this is a major problem in most restaurants). The portions were huge! And the sides are great. The little salad was sooo good. And the potato salad was amazing! It had swiss cheese in it (I think). Just all around a good place for a quick, yummy bite.

Coffee Rani is the perfect spot for refreshments when you need a break from shopping and antiquing in old, historic Covington. When I take guests downtown to sight-see, this is where we sit to re-group, visit and relax a bit. It's a cozy, casual spot where no one seems to mind that you aren't in a hurry. And they make very good coffee and tea--though there are a lot of flavored ones to choose from, I almost always opt for plain cafe-au-lait or iced tea. My husband sometimes enjoys an espresso. I especially like the way they make iced coffee--strong enough to have a nice, full flavor, even after being diluted with ice and milk. There are rows and rows of bottles of Torani syrup behind the counter for making Italian sodas, a great thirst-quencher on a hot day.. Coffee Rani is elevated above street level, giving it a bit of a tree house feel. You climb a few brick stairs to reach the elevated cement patio, surrounded by a black wrought iron fence, covered in jasmine vines. (There is a cement ramp, as well.) There are several comfy tables and chairs outside where you can take your meal, where they have planted bamboo and other greenery to help shield the sun and traffic noise a bit. Inside is modern, but still cozy. The walls are white, the art sparse, creamy white walls, exposed beams, lots of windows. When you order, you are given a number to place in the stand at your table. Your food is brought out when it is ready. The staff always seems happy to explain dishes/ingredients and offer up their personal favorites. The salads here are large and meal-sized, chock full of all kinds of wonderful things. There are complimentary mini French bread slices and butter that you get yourself near the utensils. They sometimes have whole stuffed artichokes, which are quite delicious, and which can be heated and shared around the table as an appetizer. The soups are nice and seem homemade. I especially like the bisque. The two pasta dishes I tried, one of which was Chicken Sardou, were not terribly impressive, however. The Reuben sandwich was tasty, though. Their dessert case is outstanding, a gold mine of decadence. Do NOT go here if you are seriously dieting. I feel in love with their individual tres leches cakes. Lately, they have not had those, but instead you can get a slice of a larger tres leches cake. A new favorite is the Snicker's square, with cake so moist it melts in your mouth. The dessert case alone makes this coffee house/restaurant worth the trip!

SUPER cute cafe! They have indoor seating as well as outdoor seating on a very lovely deck. They had a good number of vegetarian options, which I sincerely appreciated. Their iced tea of the day was mango, and it was quite enjoyable (unsweetened, though, so if sweetened is your thing, then, sorry). My sandwich was good, and the tomato basil soup was really good. They're pretty quick, as well. I would go back!

This place is my favorite in downtown Covington. If you are looking for a place with greasy fried food than this may not be what you are looking for. The menu offers a wide variety of fresh healthier options, all of which are delicious. The BEST salads in town hands down. My favorite sandwich is the Poppy Seed Chicken. They also have a good selection of tasty deserts. Being a student at the Delgado Covington Campus I loved to come here to have a nice quiet place to study. The have free WI-Fi as well. Every time I pass through the area I always have to stop here.
