It was about 35 outside & they had the ac on full blast. Ordered a cup of coffee black. She asked if that was something fancy she didn't know about. Handed me a cup of lukewarm coffee. I put cup to my mouth & it was sweet. Thanks for the dirty coffee cup that probably came off of someone's table. She was nice enough to brew a fresh pot & wash the cup in front of me before returning to my table. She brought my daughter's waffle 15 minutes before the rest of the food & with the gusting 20 mph winds in there it was cold in a matter of seconds. Whomever was cooking on this fine evening did a great good, actually the best Waffle House food I'd had in a very long time. Suggestion to WH stop hiring idiots!!

At first i thought this would be a typical Waffle house, they don't change much. I was wrong, first i am a big guy and i can't fit in a booth, when my wife and i walked in they had employees i the chair section they got up with no sign of being annoyed. The waitress was kinda new, you could tell. Our food got to us very fast, and was cooked perfect. Everyone there was so nice, i had a good experience and a great breakfast.

I'm just gonna throw this out there: I'm a Waffle House connoisseur. I've been frequenting Waffle Houses all over The South since '96 or so...and this is a surprisingly good Waffle House. It's a slightly different brand of the usual Waffle House "country charm" because it's not in the middle of nowhere (it's a 5 minutes drive from the Industrial Canal) but it's still basically in the middle of nowhere (it IS St. Bernard Parish)...it's a well-kept secret. I've serious never seen this place with more than 4 customers. ...and the overall experience is great. I've had tons of bad Waffle House experiences (it happens) and none of them have been here. The staff is attentive and cool, and the food never seems old or anything...the coffee is even pretty damn good by Waffle House standards. I'd totally give it 5 stars...if not for the internet jukebox. Every Waffle House has a slight variation of the same old-school jukebox...and it's 6 plays for a dollar. Don't get me wrong, I like internet jukeboxes at a lot of bars...they definitely have their place...but it ain't Waffle House.

Driven by nostalgia they drove over the canal. They were five former Georgians with a fairly high moral. They remembered eating Waffles after high school football games. Though they hadn't been together, they remembered it the same. At first when they arrived the place was just as they'd been dreaming, That bright and blockish building all a-yellow and a-gleaming. The interior, perhaps, was just so old that it looked new, Or else vintage was in style now and Waffle House, she knew. Yet many things were different. There was gravy on the menu. But the most important difference was the vacance of the venue. For these five former Georgians dined where diners are so rare, That they nearly were outnumbered by the five employees there. Now these five employees, these servers and these cooks, Where not to be outsmarted by these diners and their looks. Just because they ordered waffles, just because they ordered toast, Did not mean they would get them from these apathetic hosts. Would the servers write the orders? No, they'd 'member well enough. Would the cooks cook all the food? No, that'd surely be too tough. Would these five Georgian diners know the waffles of their pasts? Not the waffles, nor the service, for this stay would be their last.

Good old fashioned southern hospitality! The best waffle I've had in years!! Had the All-Star Special for just $6.79 + $1.55 for bottomless coffee. ...smooth by the way. Aron served us @ midnight. He was attentive and even shared info about local places to visit. Loved it!

Decent Waffle House food, very strange service (waitress got distracted in the middle of taking our order and disappeared for 10 minutes... also, she forgot to bring our drinks, like, ever), sad that they don't carry the vanilla syrup for coke.

how bout a little vacation fare right outside of the big city......that same great waffle house food we all know and love priced right and fixed fresh, right before your eyes. yeah, it does have a bit more of an urban feel, the mix of music on the jukebox might be a lil moe hip hoppitty, and those kind southern mama's and grandma's with cute lil waffle house secret language has been replaced by peepls that seem like they just off a shift at popeye;s.......but wtf.....the food is damned good and cheap, they 're nice, and you dont have to drive to florida for scattered covered and smothered!
