This is exactly as others put it - good and greasy food, probably best for either breakfast or late night. Reminds me of Waffle House in a non-chain kind of way. I had the patty melt and added jalapeños and hash browns and I was not let down. Good was good and quick and was obviously fresh made. The lady at the bar is what you'd expect at 11pm in a diner, no complaints. The place could use a thorough clean and update but to be honest I dig the divey feel of it - it gives it character and the place isn't "dirty", or else I wouldn't have eaten there. My only complaints, as someone else mentioned, is having to pay, tip & all, when you make your order when late at night. I guess I somewhat understand but it's a little impersonal. My service was good but you definitely feel obligated to tip well or you may get a grumpy server. Long story short - it hit the spot for me for a late night meal and I would go back for sure.

It took over an hour from us walking in the door to our food being served. Hamburger on pretzel bun was disgusting and obviously a frozen Patty. Pretzel bun smelled frozen. Wife's quesadilla was dry and they put the outside onion skin inside. There was also a nasty smell coming from behind the counter. I'm guessing it was the holding water for the soups. I'm giving this 2 stars instead of one because the manager was nice enough to take the quesadilla off the bill. I can't believe you other Yelpers who have reviewed this place. Have you even eaten quality food before? Road trippers beware: stay away from this trash hole.

We go here every Sunday morning when I get off work around 3:30am. We sit in Justina's section, and while it takes a little longer than some places, it's worth it! Haven't had a bad experience yet!

Came here for breakfast (well more brunch) last Saturday. We were recovering from a few adult cocktails the night before. I had the country fried steak, eggs, hash browns, and a side of biscuits and gravy, and Drew had the bacon blue cheese burger. Both were extremely good! I've been looking for a good breakfast spot and so happy we found it. Beyond the food, service was very quick and our server was extremely friendly, going as far to offer a to-go cup for Drew's diet coke as we were leaving. We will be back often.

Food was very good. I had the grilled chicken salad and it was very filling. The service was very friendly and helpful. I'm out here from California visiting my parents and I love the hospitality.

This was not my first time. Every business trip to LA. I make it a point to stop in. I was surprised at the service from the other waitress. Please express my gratitude to Audrey, she deserves all the praise

I'm usually a tough food critic but what I love is when you get fresh food! I had the burger with fresh cut fries (which is something that's hard to find in this town). Onion rings are thin but tasty. The bread on the burger is a sweet bun and is delicious. I'll be back for more!

Took daughter to eat one late nite and she absolutely loved the experience. Plenty of time to talk. Service was pleasant. Food was hot, plentiful and delicious. Atmosphere was perfect for us to chat and visit. We weren't rushed to order, drink refills were timely. We weren't served too soon. Cook was professional and staff was above friendly. Fellow patrons seemed to enjoy their time as well. Overall a great place.. Price, quality, and value .. A great combo!

Favorite breakfast spot in Alexandria. Great value of quality food at a low cost. Pancakes are great. Service staff is usually very friendly.

Food is good I had a bacon burger with hash browns one night & there version of French toast the next morning. The only down side is that the hash browns are not crispy there a bit on the mushy side but still good.

Late night greasy spoon - that about wraps up this place. It has been there forever and the decor screams that when you pull up to the place. If you eat after 11pm, you must pay for your meal (including tip) BEFORE YOU EAT!. That was a little weird, but I guess they get walk-outs late at night. I had a grilled cheese and hashbrowns. It was okay - nothing great - just greasy like I suspected it would be. The staff was not that great, but I didn't expect must anyway. If I was out late in Alex and needed some grease, I might stop by again - or maybe just go to IHOP - at least I wouldn't have to pay in advance.

First time I went there was for lunch today. People are nice. Sit yourself kind of greasy spoon place. I had the bacon cheeseburger and my husband had the philly. Bread was fresh. Would definitely go back.

Love Pitt Grill. Nothing fancy here, but really good food. If you want a really good hamburger try this place.

Wasn't expecting much but this place is great! My picky eater ate all if her "Mickey" shaped pancakes, the hubs had a grilled shrimp wrap and onion rings, and I had a hamburger - best darn burger I've had in a long time! Service was great and the cook - who was working short handed- got our meal out fairly quick and it was delicious. Will stop there again when we're driving through.

Good local diner, better and cheaper than IHOP. Nice breakfast and lunch menu (the club sandwich is fantastic), and the staff is pretty friendly. The layout is kind of old-fashioned, but in a a good way, and there are few TV's scattered about. It's open 24 hours, which is a plus if you're suffering from a midnight craving or work vampire hours.

The best diner in town- well, other than IHOP, the only diner in town. Prices are cheaper than IHOP. Pancakes and waffles were good. Eggs done to how I asked. Onion rings were fresh and not overcooked or greasy, and the honey mustard sauce was really good. It's a diner. Just what I expected and just what I needed.

Lived in Alexandria for a few months and always heard everyone talk about this place like it was something incredible... I always just figured small town food. When I finally went I can honestly say I had the best burger of my life!!!! I seriously crave this place now!

Pitt Grill is one of the most well-known "older" restaurants in Alexandria, but that reputation has declined in the last 10 years. The outside and inside is based off a Diner setting from the 50's (looks like a good hangout spot for teens since it's 24 hour dining) and the staff (Miss Lisa) is VERY FUNNY, Entertaining, but sadly, they are also EXTREMELY Unorganized and Unprofessional...but they are sooo nice and funny that you won't care how unprofessional they are!!! The menu includes the classic burger and fries, chicken strips, hot dogs, ice cream, soda, etc. The food was tasting good (and greasy) until a saw a huge roach crawling on the walls and ceiling...enough said, move on to somewhere else!!!
