Good food and margaritas. Authentic to the degree some of the waiters had language problems. The shrimp fahitas were fantastic with a lot of shrimp (unusual). Food was fresh and service good. I will go back when in town.

I am giving this restauraunt one star because the times that i have been here i was disgusted at the dirtyness of the interior, the servers were rude and didnt seem to care if you stayed or not. Major health hazard! my mother found a cockroach in her glass of soda. we will never be eating here again.

Our party of three ate the following and all were very pleased: chicken and shrimp fajita, combo fajita, and the chicken chimichanga. The meats were all well seasoned and fresh. Large portions. The horchata is some of the best I've ever had. You'll be happy you came.

    O. My. God. This place is amazing!!!!! Seriously, I'd move to Alexandria just to eat here all of the time! lol seriously though, it is very well decorated, GREAT food, home made chips and salsa is amazing. Can't leave without trying the queso! Beware by saying large you'll get about a gallon! They should call it a jumbo size. Will come again!

Went here one night to check it out since it's very close to home and I kept passing it and wondered if it was decent. Walking in, the first impression was ok, it's what I expected from the outside appearance. Ok, so the food... One word - TERRIBLE!! I ordered the Number 14; one beef burrito, one enchilada, and one tamale. Once they brought the chips and "salsa" I knew we were in for trouble. The salsa tasted like a can of tomato paste, and had the same consistency as well. So the food arrives and I couldn't be more disappointed. All three of the items tasted exactly the same. The burrito, enchilada, and tamale were all smothered in a salty and nasty white cheese sauce. Breaking into the different items revealed that they were all filled with the same awful tasting ingredients, the only difference between the burrito, enchilada, and tamale were their overall shape. The meat inside had an unpleasing flavor. This food didn't taste anything like mexican food; I think Taco Bell has a more authentic mexican flavor. I've heard that one day out of the week they have 1/2 price margaritas, and I imagine that's that's the only reason anybody would go here, because the food nasty as hell. I really hate to give 1 star reviews since after all, these people are trying to run a business, but with food this awful they've brought it upon themselves. If it was decent food with bad service I could overlook that and bump it up a star or two. But seriously, there's no excuse for serving food that tastes like this...

I would have given 0 stars if I could. This will be a list of things that went wrong. -Waitress wouldn't set our drinks on the table, awkward when the people right in front of her at a small table had to reach across each other. -5 of us had water one had a coke...rather than bring a pitcher to the table she waits until our drinks are dry and we had to ask for refills, then she takes our waters 2 at a time to refill them, when she is done all if the waters were mixed up and one person didn't end up with one. Awkward thing where she made people take the drink from her again. -I ordered a small queso with tortillas and an a la carte taco as a meal, she brought the queso out as an appetizer...someone else ordered a side if honey to dip chips in and got tortillas with it on the same plate, when I asked for my tortillas when she brought my taco she informed me that my tortillas were the ones she gave someone else, and had her give me the tortillas....not ok. To make things worse she has quite the shitty attitude and throws dirty looks like nobody's business. -my brother ordered a burrito and asked for ONLY chicken, cheese, and beans. The waitress asked again what he wanted and he explained three times and she repeated it back. When he got the burrito it had those ingredients in addition to peppers, onions, and tomatoes. When he informed her of this she said "oh well it's cooked that way" he replied "ok, then you should have told me, I guess I'll just pick them out" and she walked away. My chicken taco came with the same pulled chicken with no peppers and onions....SO SHE JUST LIED INSTEAD OF FIXING IT? WHATS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!!!! - when she was asked by a lady at my table to come over by saying "excuse me ma'am", the waitress who was half way across the restaurant just turned around and looked at her "huh?". Rude. -when we asked for a to go box the waitress went outside to take a 10 min phone call. She returned to the table without the to go boxes and we had to ask for them again. (Idiot). -we went to pay at the front of the store, this took quite a while as the line was long. When we got to the check out and another lady (I'll call her the checker) asked if everything was ok my father said no and nicely explained a few of the things that went wrong. The checker said "I'm sorry we had a hectic day"...sorry lady I was there and it was not that crazy. They offered 0 discounts or comps, let alone a genuine apology. -after walking out we were so upset that we felt it necessary to go back in and ask for her superior, she said "I own it" (which is a lie), my brother asked "is that how you treat all of your customers?" She replied "I didn't do anything to you", so his girlfriend asked who her superior was and she said she had no superiors. If she is the manager or owner that's a problem in its self. Lies go a long way, she treated every one of us like shit. I WOULD RATHER SHOVE MY HEAD IN A WOODCHIPPER THAN GO BACK TO THIS S*** HOLE!!! Save your money and go somewhere else.

Just like the 2 star rating states.... I've had better mexican food. i was disappointed. Had the carne assada with rice and beans. The rice did not taste very good, and the only good thing about the dish was the meat. Sadly I also felt that since the food was not up to par, the price was too high for that kind of quality.

The best Mexican in Cenla!!! All people eat around here is Tex Mex. This is REAL authentic Mexican with plenty of Tex Mex staples on the menu. The atmosphere and decor is super fun. You don't feel like you're in Louisiana. The chips and salsa are fresh and fabulous. The margaritas are not made from a mix, and neither is the delicious sangria. They make it on site. My friend, who is Mexican, ordered an authentic Mexican drink called a michelada. They knew exactly what she wanted and brought it right out. I don't believe it was on the menu, but it's a concoction of beer, lime and vegetable juice. She loves em. As for the food, yum yum yum! The fajitas are fabulous, as are the tamales and enchiladas. I personally love the fact that everyone who works here speaks Spanish, and I've never felt uncomfortable or as if they didn't understand me. The service is great and they'll just keep bringing the chips and salsa! Give this place a chance!!! If we ever have to move out of the area, this will be the restaurant we miss the most.

Well, where to start. One of three Mexican restaurants in a town with about 10 restaurants total. Leesville is the middle of nowhere but this place provides some semblance of normal society. The bar tender......can't remember her name...was a lovely lady whose husband was stationed at Ft. Polk, she formerly bartended in Las Vegas before moving, so she knows how to make a drink...however in this part of Louisiana they make drinks by measuring the shots...so least to say they are never strong. The steak and shrimp were very good, although the steak was on the small side. Sitting at the bar is a mistake if you want a constant flow of chips and salsa, but I wouldn't recommend it. The salsa comes out slightly hotter than room temperature and is very watery. Overall, good for the area, but put up against a real city, this place would go under.

The night we visited, El Reparo had a margarita special... two for $5! +1 After we were seated, the waiter immediately brought us our drinks (which were very strong), and chips and salsa. The menu consist of what you would find at your typical Mexican restaurant; including tacos, enchiladas, burritos, tamales, quesadillas, and tostadas. There was also a vegetarian and kid's menu. After reviewing the menu, I opted for the combination dinner that included an enchilada, burrito, and a chile relleno. A few minutes later, our food arrived. CAUTION: The plate was extremely hot (as the food is cooked inclusive of the plate that is served to you). Overall, I was content with the food. My only complaint was that the cheese that covered my food tasted a bit like the nacho cheese dip that you would find at a movie theater or sporting event (but I don't know if it would have been better without it). Nonetheless, combination and specialty dinners range from about $8-$12 (with a few "double" [large] portioned meals at about $21). Overall, two stars... but because of the drink special -- and very good service -- I'm rounding up. Also, I don't think (though not sure) there are many Mexican restaurants around here. So, solid three stars. Additional Notes: - Lunch Menu is Available

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
