Great crawfish! I will be back. Just keep in mind you pay for the quality. We ordered a pitcher of beer, a 5 pound tray of crawfish, a cup of gumbo and boiled shrimp and the bill was 113 dollars for the 2 of us before the tip. Like I said best crawfish I have had in the area but u do pay for it.

Will never go to Cajun Claws again. Went in very early to get first seating. Counted 6 other couples/groups waiting. When signing in noticed quite a few more names on list. Seems that they allow school kids to stop in and sign list for their parents when they leave school. We did not make first seating but was second on the list now. My wife went up and looked at list. She commented that she will get seated second. Worker said not if someone who signed list ahead of us but was not in the waiting room now would come in before our name was called. Did not sit well with us. Then someone walked in for table. The worker asked why she wasn't on the list. She said, I forgot to come in early and sign in. The worker said, follow me, I'll find you a table. we left and went to Richard's where crawfish is great and there in no funny business with "the list".

Arrived at 2:15 to sign up at 4:00 to get a table at 5:00---it is worth all the trouble but this time an EMPLOYEE arrived little before 3:00 and said she would take our names and put them on the official list at 4:00 and we could go ahead and leave-- well, we left and came back at 4:30 to see a sign on the door saying any reservations taken before 4:00 WOULD NOT BE HONORED--so punishing customers for the actions of one employee is not good business-will rethink further visits but I guess it doesn't matter to them

I live in New Orleans and have been here for 8 years but originally from Morgan City. New Orleans may have their claim to fame with their haute cuisine but can't hold a stick, candle, or whatever you chose to hold to Cajun claws when it comes to crawfish. Get there early as in before they even start seating. You won't regret it. It will cut down on the wait time drastically. Get the fried shrimp for an app. You won't regret coming to the cajun coast for some of the best crawfish around.

Cajun Claws has by far the biggest and best boiled crawfish around. They are ALWAYS huge. Like mini lobsters. And be sure you get there early! People wait for hours for this good stuff.

There is no place that serves bigger, juicier, cleaner, or better tasting crawfish than Cajun Claws. This place holds up their reputation as serving the best crawfish anywhere. At any point in the season, their crawfish are bigger than anyone elses'. The flavor is incredible, the super hot is the best. The wait is long, but the time passes nicely with ice cold beers from the bar. The fried shrimp and other appetizers are unique and just delicious and can be served while waiting in the bar. Every trip to Cajun Claws is an incredible and satisfying experience.

Not sure where the negativity comes from in the other reviews as we were just passing through town and can't comment on the normal procedure. We saw the packed parking lot and as we love crawfish thought we would give it a try. Walked right in and were seated immediately. The cold Abita hit the spot after a long day of driving and the platter of crawfish came out in ten minutes. And the crawfish were excellent as were the corn and potatoes topped off with lemon pistoletts for desert. Joey our waiter was very congenial and kept us entertained.

The crawfish are AWESOME and undoubtedly the best BUT, the proprietors are arrogant and the price is VERY HIGH. You can get just as good crawfish, maybe not quite as big, at other places served with a SMILE! Cajun Claws' bar opens at 3:30 so you can put your name of the list for their opening at 5 p.m. Of course they're counting on you spending lots in the bar while you're waiting. As of 2/18/11 3 lb. of crawfish will set you back $20.95. It's a family-run business and most are rude.

I'm going to leave another review here. I was in line at 3:00 with maybe 6-7 people in front of me. At 5:00 when people started getting seated, I was told that I didn't make the "first round" and I would be on the second round. Apparently, and I observed this first hand, they have quite a bit of "local" favoritism going on here. When I asked the person doing the seating about what was going on, I was told "that's not my problem if you weren't here at 3:00". When I showed her my name on the list, she didn't know what to say. By missing the "first round" at 5:00, it now became "maybe" 7:00 before my party OF THREE PEOPLE could be seated. The hostess was beyond disrespectful. A person walked over and very politely asked where his party was on the waiting list and when he asked the simple question of "about how much longer do you think", he was promptly told "you and your party can leave if you don't like it"!! Needles to say, even though this is some of the best crawfish I've eaten, this was my last time here!! There's no food worth this crap. NEVER, and I repeat, NEVER again will I come here. This place can kiss my ass!!
