Can I give half a star? I'm sorry, I can normally eat just about anything that doesn't move, but I was very disappointed in Las Margaritas. Being a native Californian, growing up around the farms and eating "real" Mexican foods, this was simply unbearable. The only thing good here was the cold beer. I ordered what was supposed to be a Chimichanga and what arrived was a have cooked, non-browned, slimy burrito thing with a white colored sauce that reminded me of grits from an Army mess hall. Sorry, I couldn't even choke it down, and afterwards, had to make several bathroom stops...maybe I just hit this place on an off day, but I will never get close again...there are better choices in the area. Sorry guys, you need a whole new approach, not to mention, the place was not really clean.

Just moved to the area and trying out places to find our favorites. We were seated quickly. The decor was a little grimy and the cloth seats were torn and stained. The chips & salsa were the best part of the meal. Also ordered cheese dip and it was pretty run of the mill. I ordered a beef chimichanga that came with rice & beans. The meal came with two tortillas that were filled and then what I think was pan fried. They were black to the point of burnt on one side. The filling and the refried beans were nearly tasteless. I had to pour salsa on mine to even eat it. The rice was ok. We will not be back.

So far, of the other Mexican places I've been to around the area this one is my favorite. The chips and salsa taste good and fresh. The overall atmosphere was nice. The place was clean and the crew seemed professional and busy. Our waitress seemed a bit lingually challenged as the manager had to come by a couple of times to verify our order. Overall, I was pleased with the quality and portions of the food. Still no horchata found but overall good food and good value.

Food is okay. Drinks are good. The place could use a clean up. The tables are sticking and menus smell like they were wiped with a moldy rag. However the lady at the bar was great and made good drinks.

We have had Yelp for awhile but never got around to posting any reviews but this one, we had to post. We recently relocated and have been wanting Mexican food and although this restaurant looks a bit run down from the outside we thought we would give it a try. That was our first mistake. The second mistake was not turning and running as soon as we walked in. It was dirty and rundown and looks like it probably doubles as a wannabe "nightclub". I ordered a chicken and cheese quesadilla and it looked like the cook must have worked serving omelettes at a prior restaurant because that is what my quesadilla looked like. It was flavorless and unappealing at best. It was simply chicken and cheese, no peppers, no spice, no flavor. I gave this one star because the option to give -10 isn't an option.

We ventured to this restaurant for dinner. When walking in we noticed a mildew or musty type smell. When we sat down, we noticed brown spots on the ceiling (maybe that's what was causing the smell, mold?) Aside from the smell, the inside of the restaurant was vary spacious, and nicely decorated. The bar was busier than the rest of the restaurant. We were offered beverages and chips/salsa, soon after we sat down. The salsa was okay, it tasted almost like store bought. Our server was nice, but not very professional. She felt comfortable enough (puzzled us as to why) to tell us about her drinking the night prior, how she got very drunk (she used a few obscenities to describe to what extent) and how it was her birthday (she had money pinned to her shirt and referenced it several times). Aside from all of that, she was knowledgeable concerning the menu, brought out our food and beverages, quickly, and refilled our beverages and chips timely. I ordered the Texas Combo Taco Salad, which came with strips of grilled steak, chicken and shrimp. It was served in a flour tortilla shell filled with the meat, layers of rice, and lettuce. It was also covered with grilled onions, bell peppers and mushrooms and topped with melted white cheese. The cost for my salad was $10.95. I enjoyed it, the meat and vegetables tasted like they were truly grilled. My husband ordered the Guisado Campestre, which came with slices of steak, bacon, ham, onions, peppers and tomatoes served with rice, beans and three flour tortillas for 13.95. My husband enjoy his meal, with the exception of the beans and the rice. When asked why, he said that both the rice and the beans didn't have much flavor. He said however that the lack of flavor is not enough to keep him from going back. He said that he will just order something different when we try them again. We plan to go back because of the large variety of menu choices they had. If you venture to this restaurant, you might like it. We plan to give them one more try.

My spouse and I ate here occasionally. He called to see if they were open Christmas eve for an office lunch and was told they were. They weren't. We won't patronize them again.

This is so far the best Mexican restaurant we have found in this town. The Guisado Capestre is to die for. The bartender makes nice strong drinks thats a plus.. If you like dancing you have to go on Friday nights. Tuesday and Thursday nights they have Karaoke (we will be attending soon) Trisha the waitress was very nice and will request her every time we go... The atmosphere alone is worth checking out.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
