Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Kind of a local dive bar but the did is excellent, The Italian beef and onion rings were wonderful and the pizza is also. The thin New York style is what we had. The crust comes with honey for dipping. The place is a little rough around the edges but the service and food are great !

Good pie, but was a little skimpy of the toppings. It was a cheese pizza with one or 2 pieces of sausage per piece.

A bit pricey for me, but if you love NY style pizza, this is the place to go. Our family ordered 2 larges and 1 medium and were NOT disappointed. I got my favorite, pineapple and bacon and it was FABULOUS!!! No complaints. Fast, friendly service on Christmas Eve can not be beat!

A local dive. Amazing food!!!! Always delicious. The corn bites appetizer is awesome. All pizzas are great. Sandwiches are yummy too!

  • Virginia G.

Great pizza and good service, it has the deceiving appearance of a dive at first glance.

  • John A.

Excellent flavor and service. Just the right mixture of toppings and cheese. Only negative was that the Thin crust was cooked just a bit too long. (Barely burnt in spots)

Go ahead, don't be afraid to enter the building. It does look scary on the outside and more like a dive bar inside, but the crowd is harmless and the pizza is phenomenal. We ate lunch here and the bartender/waitress was by herself but did a good job keeping up considering the amount of customers. The pizza was brought out in a reasonable amount if time. They pile on the cheese and the crust is great, larger than most you'll find. I used the honey on the crust to help make it slide down. Overall a great pizza, just don't be intimidated by the appearance of the place.

Excellent pizza fabulous service and great value! We were driving through on a road trip. If ever in the area again, we will certainly stop! YUMMY! We got the house pizza with traditional crust. A small probably would've been plenty for two people. We ordered a medium and were taking home half of our pizza... :)

The best little pizza place hidden away here in peducah, been coming here the last two years.

Best ever love the place and the people if you are traveling through on business you can't find a better local spot

DO NOT be fooled by the exterior! The pizza is amazing and service was friendly. Try the traditional crust! A medium size is enough to feed a family of 4. Once again YELP helped my wife and I hot a home run w/ the kids.

  • N P.

Admittedly, I may have been expecting way too much. I had heard such amazing reviews, but my experience was really just okay. I've had better pizza. I may have been turned off by the musty odor in the restaurant, the split vinyl seats in the booths, and the extremely poor service. The pizza was good though, and I did love the honey for dipping the crust. I will try it again in hopes for a better experience - I just won't eat in house.

House pizza (add jalapenos and half a bottle of crushed red pepper) is the most wonderful creation I ever put in my mouth!! I have yet to find fried pickles to rival The Pound's. I could eat those as my meal! The owners and servers are all great fun, along with everyone else you will run into during your visit. Expect to wait a while if you go on a weekend night. Well worth the wait!

  • John W.

Great pizza! They serve it with honey for dipping their excellent crust in! Even made with Organic Flour! Very progressive...

  • Susanne J.

I love the pizza and the always crowded atmosphere. Just don't go on weekend nights and be hungry, you might wait for a long time before you finally get your food. The bar has all your heart desire and the waiters are excellent.

Pizza by the Pound has some delicious pizza it Might be a hole in wall, But their pizza is AWSOME. And the crab and cheese appetizer was AWSOME too. Might not beet my all time home town pizza place, it is right there at the top. It is even better than the pizza I have had in Chicago. The staff there was AWSOME prompt courteous. Even as they busier. Great job.

  • Steven P.

Yep. This place lived up to the hype. First of all, it looks like a hole outside, could barely find a place to park. Knowing its reputation, though, we weren't deterred. The place was packed, we had to wait for a table on a Thursday night! It would have been nice to have "Please Seat Yourself"-type sign, we felt a bit awkward at first. Food wise, it's 5-star all the way. We had chicken wings and a pizza. The wings were crispy, not slimy. They came with a spicy/creamy sauce, really good. We had a BLT pizza with traditional crust. It was EXCELLENT! Chewy crust, great cheese, fresh bacon. One of the best pizzas I've ever had. Place was loud & local, service was good.

  • Jay A.

Outstanding! If you like plenty of cheese on your pizza give this place a try.

  • Señora K.

Call ahead for a table! We stood at the door with a large group of people uncertain of what to do. Finally a waitress came over to ask us how many ect... Seemed to have a rhyme or reason to this madness - must be good! She came back and said she had tables ... Somewhere we couldn't understand .. Would that be ok? Sure, a table would be good, so we followed her. Outside, through a patio area and into a .... ? I don't know, a room with patio tables and a foosball table. Did I mention it's 28F outside? Ok ... Expecting big things, we ordered drinks, app and salad and a deep dish pizza. It all was fine - maybe it was better then we left thinking having been overshadowed by the weird seating and the seemingly largely understaffed facility. It was an interesting find, but will probably skip it next time we are in the area.

We were visiting family in Paducah and they brought us here for dinner. The place was busy on a Monday night in late December. We had a large cheese pizza, the 8 pound pizza (we had 8 in our group), fried pickles, and onion rings. All the food was excellent. Service was friendly though a little slow but that just gave us more time to talk and be hungry when the giant pizzas arrived. If I lived in Paducah, I'd be a regular here.

Had the veggie, great service, nice place, love the jukebox, and pinball! I woll ask for it well done next time!

  • Jim E.

Always looking for local places to eat when travelling. Stayed in Paducah on the way to Miami. Saw interesting reviews on the web so tried it with my 3 teenage kids. It's just a couple of miles from the highway chains. Great atmosphere. A lot of Elvis & Marilyn pictures. I wouldn't call it a dive but definitely heavy on local flavor.I'm from Chicago so I'm an admitted pizza snob. The pizza was fantastic. The traditional crust was our favorite; was outstanding. Great taste. Was a Saturday night so it was fairly busy which contributed to the only drawback, The service wasn't as efficient as it could have been but server was very pleasant when she came by the table. Go here instead of the chain restaurants off the highway

Stopped at this "Pizza Joint" while traveling from the Smoky Mountains on way back to Oklahoma. Sounded good as well as interesting based on the reviews from Yelp. It was good pizza. We had the House Special medium along with the appetizer platter (fried everything). We could barely finish the pizza, but it was delish!!

Shows up as delivery on yelp but when we called, they said they don't deliver. Can't comment on the food since we didn't get any.
