Texas Roadhouse does some things very well. They can process large crowds of people in a timely manner. If you want a steak cooked the way you like, they can do it. My wife and I love their prime rib, which is; as good as, you will find anywhere. Their staff is typically young, friendly and well trained. The surroundings are, as you would expect at any Texas Roadhouse with loud country music and peanut shells on the floor. During my latest trip, I opted to try something different and chose the catfish while my wife stuck with the prime rib. The catfish really was rather bland in flavor and the dipping sauce just did not cut it. Therefore, the old saying, "do not buy fish from a steak house," rings true for me in this case. Next time I will have the prime rib.

Service was decent. Our server was the high point. Peanuts were old, stale and hadn't been changed out in a while. Sampler appetizer was blah. The jalapeño poppers were greasy/soggy. Potato skins were soggy. Buffalo chicken were ok. My son and I ordered steak and shrimp combo. The menu states homemade sides. His steak was ordered medium with rice along with Mac and cheese. I ordered medium rare with corn and mashed potatoes. Both steaks cooked medium rare. His Mac and cheese was straight out of a box. Not homemade. My corn and potatoes were blah like from a cafeteria. The place was not busy. I'm trying to find something positive. I worked in restaurants for 7 years. Nothing stood out. The food lacks passion. It was mediocre at best.

So another great experience at Texas roadhouse. Sat at the bar, bad idea. It was after 9pm on a Monday and the restaurant was extremely slow. So I wondered why it was taking 25 minutes to cook a 6oz sirloin. When my food finally came being served by the manager, I touched the plate and it was burning hot. So I asked the manager was this sitting under the heat lamp and of course she said no, and I said why is the plate so hot, she explained that they keep their plates hot, really? So I cut into my supposed to be medium steak and it was well done. The bar tender offered to fix the problem, but come on just do your job right and worry about your customers instead of doing your closing duties. This will for sure be my last time. I don't know why people keep coming here. P.s. the manager is always right

Diana was our server. She looks like Katniss from The Hunger Games. She was just as sweet as she was pretty. She was very attentive and hooked us up with a Veterans discount = 10% off! Pros: -price was good - 9 people ate for $130 (before discount) -they sang Happy Birthday to my niece -call ahead seating got our large party seated right away -kids steak cooked right & they shoveled down the apple sauce Cons: -no ice cream, candle, nothing for the Birthday Girl. They just sang to her & had her sit in the saddle -steak & mushrooms tasted like they were cooked on a dirty grill -broccoli was hard but piping hot like they had spritzed it with water & thrown it in the microwave -onion blossom was unevenly cooked- half was not cooked while the other half was burned Overall, food wasn't exactly worth the visit. We'll stick to Logan's when we're in town.

Ter-ri-ble! Peanuts were wet - why u ask? Because of the ceiling was leaking on them and our table. Drinks were pricey and weak (they only can give u 2oz of an extra shot FYI), oh and the kicker was the women's toilet doesn't flush. Next time I want a fillet...I'll absolutely NOT GO HERE!

Great experience here. I had a seat at the bar but received a text and had to get my order to go. The bartender Catherine was amazing. Just don't find service like that anymore. I'm not through Owensboro much but when I come back we will definitely visit here again. Great job!!

In town from Arizona. Ordered to go because I was staying at a hotel a few miles up the road. I tipped the girl $7.00 and asked for a soda to go and fork/knife. She came back and asked for an extra $2.00 and change for the drink and said if I want a fork and knife to go to Wendy's across the street because they were all out. We all hate long reviews so here is the point. Prime rib was on the dry side, the sweet potato wasn't cooked all the way and the salad felt like it was sitting out for 2 hours.

Would have given 5 stars if not for the overly-loud music (and splintery ribs once.) I think I have lost 20% of my hearing from eating there, but the food is so good, I will just have to get ear plugs. I usually always get the steak/ribs combo, baked sweet potato, and salad. Fall-off-the-bone ribs with the best flavor, it makes my hind leg shake just thinkin' about it. LOL! Delicious! Love those yeast rolls and honey-butter, too! Oh my dear God they are good! Great atmosphere, but I feel sorry for the employees when they have to line-dance! I'd never want to work there because I wouldn't want to do that in front of people, or all the happy-clappy Happy Birthday songs. My son and I have a pact.....we will never embarrass each-other by telling them it's the other's birthday! Never! They want you to get on a rolling saddle now!! I think I'll pass, thanks! LOL!....... but great food and service!! Probably my favorite place to eat in town in the way of steak-houses. Try it, but take ear plugs!

Food is usually really good but sometimes it does fall short. Service has only been disappointing one time out of many. Prices are reasonable. That being said, this location has started to have a real dirty sort of feel. The floors are super greasy and precarious to walk on. The bathrooms are bordering on gross. This location needs a renovation to clean up and give it a fresh start.

Meh. I've had better. This was one of those experiences when everything seemed just a bit off. And it started in the parking lot. Too small. Cars were parked on a side road, and it wasn't packed on the inside. It just seemed like the lot the building was on just wasn't big enough. It was just me for dinner. When I got there the hostess offered to seat me. I declined and went for the bar. Once in the bar area I discovered the bar was full - no seats. Why wouldn't the hostess know that? I was seated and the waitress took my drink order and then brought my drink. I waited and waited and waited and she just didn't come back. I caught another waitress and asked for mine, and when she came back she said, "I was waiting for your guest to arrive..." So I ordered my food and it came, but I'm pretty sure I ordered rice and not the mashed potatoes that I got. I've had better food and better service and I am glad no one was there to experience it with me.

Texas roadhouse is a pretty big chain, at least in the Midwest, but they are all pretty decent. You walk in and there are barrels of peanuts for you to crack open and throw the shells all over the floor. The steaks are actually pretty good and always seem to be that way. The sides they have are pretty lacking so I usually just stick with the house salad and the Broccoli. The appetizers are all pretty much fried and terrible for you but at the same time, they are all you want when you sit down haha. My Top order: Get a Tall Shinerboch Beer, start with the Rattle Snake Bites, and get a Dallas Fillet. You won't be disappointed or hungry.

This was steak weekend! I had steak Friday, Sat. and Sun. and this had to be the best of the weekend. We had a huge party(14) and the waiter was on the spot with everything. The helpers bringing the food out we're a little confused, but he got everything on the money. Tip left was more than 15% for the best service I have had in a long time!
