This is THE place to go in Owensboro for a delicious sandwich! My husband and I usually call ahead and pick it up for a quick lunch. You can call to order and they will ask what time they need to have it ready by- great service! They also have a small cafe area to eat in, but we've never stayed to eat. My go to sandwich is the Baja chipotle turkey- One of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. The bread is homemade and everything on the sandwich just goes together so well. You won't be sorry if you stop by!

FRESH. Everything is so fresh. From the breads, scones, cookies & sandwiches. Everything tastes as if they made it 5 minutes before you walked in. The bread is reasonably priced for how much you get & the quality. The cafe next door is always busy at lunchtime & the staff is friendly. The chicken salad sandwich on honey wheat is my fav. Also, the snickerdoole cookies are so butter & amazing.

This place got the best tomato soup I've ever had - it's creamy with a little spice in it. Most of the sandwiches I had for lunch were pretty good. Definitely get the soup!

Amazing. Skip panera and head to great harvest. Their soups are amazing and you can view the menu on their website. My favorite is the white Cheddar asparagus. Get there early because they always run out. The sandwiches are less flashy than paneras but more filling and "real". Top spot for lunch. Wish they were open all day.

I will start by saying I've had Great Harvest Bread Co. cater a few small events in Owensboro, and they are always a pleasure to work with. The cookies and brownies are delicious and always a hit. (I look forward to the brownies... Soooooo good.) I finally stopped in for lunch recently, and I was not disappointed. It was slightly busy, as it was lunch time, but I was able to step up to the counter and order immediately. I went to the restroom, and by the time I came back, my sandwich was ready. (I tried the blue cheese and roast beef.). It hit the spot, and the bread was fresh and delicious. I have been told they're "known" for their chicken salad, so I may have to try that on an upcoming visit. The staff was kind, and the display of desserts was tempting. (Of course , I gave in to temptation.). The only thing I would like to see differently would be brief descriptions of all of the sandwiches. I wasn't clear in what a few of them were by the name alone (thought regular might know). This may have been there, but I didn't see it. I don't think you could be disappointed though. If you're looking for a good sandwich/bread/dessert, Great Harvest won't let you down.

Yummy! First visit here and I was very impressed with the food. Regret not ever stopping by during my previous visits to Owensboro. Had the tuna sandwich with the tomato bisque soup and it was delicious. The soup was creamy and tasty and although I thought I was staining my clear braces I couldn't stop eating it. Don't forget your Free sample at the bakery counter. Couldn't resist getting a loaf of the hummingbird bread to take back with me to Cali.

Not only is the food awesome and tasty, but the owners and employees treat you like family. I pick up treats for my office almost every week and I know the bread, muffins, cinnamon rolls and cookies are a hit every time. Their lunch is just right and you will not be disappointed.

They specialize in bread - both sweet and savory, but their expertise doesn't stop there. It's one of the best places in Owensboro to eat lunch... why? They have a solid repertoire of sandwiches (made with their own bread) and a great rotating schedule of soups. You can find something for everyone - and it's not panera, which scores a +1 in my book. The best part is that they always make you happy with their smiles and great service. You can usually get in-and-out in less than a half hour and do lunch for around $7. Pro tip: stop by the bread counter after lunch for a free "sample" slice of one of their dessert breads for a little treat.

One of the best places in town for lunch or breakfast. And definitely Owensboro's best bakery. Try the sun dried tomato Swiss bread.

The best lunch place around! Bread not only made daily, but they grind their own flour every day! Try the smoked turkey panini- wonderful.
