I give this a 5/5 due to their new prohibition bar. The selection is unbelievable! I took my husband to get a bourbon flight. He got the Cin City and loved it. Although I am not a bourbon fan, I still enjoyed a Moscow mule that was very refreshing. We also ordered the apple pie a la mode--very delectable. The servers were very nice and checked on us several times. One man even offered to give our dog some treats and water which was so nice! The patio was a great place to sit out in the lights and enjoy our drinks. We will definitely be back. We just wish they were open more days of the week!

I first found out about Newberry Coffee at Taste of NKY soon after they opened. The owner was handing out free samples of Wild Turkey to the voters so naturally, I (and everyone else) voted for Newberry and it won Best Of NKY for coffee. Recently I moved to Newport and was excited that Newberry was so close. It didn't take long for me to realize that the owners don't take their business or customers seriously. Despite the fact they have one of the best croissants I've tried in NKY, I cannot give Newberry a favorable rating due to the fact they don't keep consistent business hours. Sometimes they're open on Friday night and all day Saturday and Sunday. Sometimes they just don't open at all. This is INCREDIBLY frustrating, especially when attempting to meet friends or family members for brunch at noon on a Sunday and the place is closed despite it being during their regular hours. There is no rhyme or reason for their hours and even if you check online their hours are not accurate. Also they're not open at all during the week.

Amazing place. Amazing owners. Amazing selections. You can't go wrong here. Peter and Kim strive to make your visit the best it can be. Selections selections selections. I have never seen so much bourbon in my life and anyone who knows more about it than Peter. If you love bourbon this is a must. Want beer, wine or mixed drinks? Got that too. The best addition to our neighborhood in a long time. Almost forgot, coffee and pastries too. Yum. I'm glad I live a few blocks away

The ham and cheese croissant was amazing! The croissant itself was perfectly flaky and buttery; and whoever thought to stuff it it--genius! We really wanted to try the goetta cheese stuffed croissant, but the people in front of us in line got the last one. This was at 12 noon on a Sunday, so a word to the wise, get there early to get the good stuff! Now that I know this, I will definitely be back to get the goetta cheese croissant soon. We also had a cinnamon roll which was pretty darn big and covered in icing, and paired perfectly with my latte! Sitting outside was a perfect touch to this brunch, we enjoyed the patio, the sun and the neighborhood. To those who say that 6$ is too much for the croissants, I have to disagree, this thing is like a whole meal, I mean, it is a sandwich. I also couldn't help but drool over their bourbon selection, and bourbon flight menu. Cant wait to come back!

Went in the evening on a Saturday night a couple months ago. AMAZING. The best bourbon I've had, and a jaw-dropping selection. Wonderful atmosphere, perfect for casual conversation, or even a date night. I love this place so much, I wish I could make it down more often!

Love everything they sell. Just so frustrated at the hours...it's a coffee place first (based on how they opened) though they do good things at night with wine and bourbon now too, which is great. But just Sundays for coffee now?? Staff commented that it was a matter of late nights and early mornings getting them tired. But that's why you have **staff** to have them open when you don't have the energy. I just don't get it.

This is a neighborhood gem run by it's owners and a lovely staff. The Newberry's clearly love their community, the business and their neighbors. They are experts at pastries, coffee, wine and bourbon - what a skill set! Croissants are the best I have had outside of Paris, largest bourbon selection I have ever seen, and great place for outside dog-friendly imbibing. Additionally, the family that owns this place is hugely community focused, they do tons of fund raisers and inspire us all to have a good work/life balance by limiting their hours to those that make for a sustainable and happy life for them and their staff.

Made our first visit last week, and we have been back 4 more times. I eat vegan - so most of the pasteries are off limits but the aroma is awesome. The coffee is roasted on sight. The Mexican is so smooth; incredible. The place is immaculate with fantastic indoor and outdoor seating. But the real treat is the bourbon bar adjacent to the coffee. Some 500 bourbons is interesting. But we sat for a tasting flight with the owner, Peter. He gave the most fascinating lecture on bourbons; better than the Bourbon Trail. At the same time he introduced and connected everyone in the bar - while running back and forth to get the apple tarts out of the oven for the morning. This is a find!!! Not vegan friendly unfortunately! Needs some no dairy/egg white options soon!

Let me first start by saying that I absolutely LOVE everything about this place WHEN THEY ARE OPEN! When they first opened (for coffee and breakfast) it was 4 days a week, then just Saturday and Sunday. Just recently, they cut but once again to being only open on Sunday's. My husband is literally beside himself as the breakfast pastries are that good! I really want to see this place succeed, but I fear that only being open one day of the week cause customers to seek their neighborhood coffee elsewhere. :(

Great people, great bourbon, great time. Newberry's was named as one of the top bourbon bars in America and its not hard to see why. 700 plus whiskeys and growing. You can find the best Japanese whisky here alongside wonderful Scotch. Your favorite ryes and bourbons will be here too. If bourbon isn't your thing there's plenty of craft beers and wine to keep you happy. Be sure to check out the pastries while you're here too.

Got a coffee to go that was described as a light/medium Mexican varietal. Apparently that means completely bereft of flavor. The location in Newport is really good though and the patio looks like a good option in nice weather.

This place is a great find in my neighborhood. Has amazing coffee and some nice croissants. They have regular coffee as well as espresso. Do note that on Friday and weekend evenings it teems up as a bar and early evening has people catching up before their dinner and night out. So if you are looking to work or study there then daytime is perfect Oh and yes please try their old fashioned ! (I am a burboun fan and they fix a great old fashioned)

The good: The latte was not bad, but unremarkable. The bad: Sticker Shock! Croissants $6.00-7.00? No thanks, I'll pass. We just ordered a large breve latte (because their chocolate sauce for mocha was Hershey's). It costs $6.10, had foam like a cappuccino instead of a latte and was served in a styrofoam cup. The 'meh': They had white "chocolate" sauce that was apparently "amazing" but no milk or dark chocolate sauce, no caramel sauce (only caramel syrups)? Snakes and sparklers Newberry Bros, snakes and sparklers.

We went there to celebrate a friend's birthday. We sat on the patio and we're really exited to discover the place. It took them forever to wait on me. I had arrived later then my two friends and others were coming after me. I finally had to go up to the covered outside bar to order a beverage and a cheese tray for us. I didn't mind that too much at the time. They asked if I wanted to start a tab and I reluctantly gave them my debit card. When we were ready to leave and pay our separate tabs they told me they didn't have my card. I told the waitress that I had given it to the owner at the bar. She went back and looked etc..and came back and said they didn't have it. I went up to have a word with the owner and he denied ever having it Needless to say I was not a happy camper..he threatened to call the police if I didn't stop making my point that he did indeed took it. He said flat out he never had it.

I thought I knew about bourbon but the guy behind the bar knows everything and can answer any question. Really friendly and interesting. If you want some great coffee or any bourbon or whiskey I highly recommend this place. 366 varieties and 3 on tap. My buddies and I are really glad we stopped by after eating at Pompilinos. We talked about it almost the whole way home.

Okay here's the deal, this place is an awesome little coffee shop that will soon also be a wine bar and bistro! Yay!! Another place for happy hour after work. I spoke with one of the owners this morning and learned that they roast their beans every two days, and they whole sale them as well. They also bake their pastries every morning, super fresh and YUMMY. You have to try the Chocolate Croissant. Oh and the Morning Glory Muffin... sooo good! Their hours right now are limited to certain days and times, double check before you head over. You have to check this place out if you're in the area. Or make the trip, it's worth it!

Very impressed with this restaurant/bar. Yes, they actually serve food and alcohol. Both owners came out (once to deliver our bourbon tasting and another time to make sure our visit was pleasant). They have a nice outdoor area to sit and the prices are reasonable. Would recommend to anyone!

Cute little coffee shop! The hours are a little weird- basically, you might be out of luck if you are looking for a caffeine pick up sometime mid to late afternoon. According to the website, they are only open Thursday through Sunday right now. I always appreciate a local/fair-trade coffee shop, and am glad to see Newberry boasts this. I didn't get to try it on my first visit, though they kindly made me a chai latte (it was during bistro hours when people were coming in for wine and drinks). I did check out the drink menu while waiting, and the beer and wine prices were awesome! Definitely checking this out for happy hour when I am back on the drinking wagon :) and will have to come back for some coffee soon.

I went to Newberry Bros. Coffee unintentionally and was pleasantly surprised. I had company in town and wanted to hit one of the local establishments on his way out of town, which happened to be a Sunday morning. Much to my dismay, the location I picked was closed. I used the Yelp app in a pinch and found Newberry close by. When we walked in the scenery was impressive. Newberry hits you immediately when you walk in the door with the smell and the sight of fresh baked pastries. We went in for coffee, but our minds soon drifted to other possibilities. I ordered my normal latte and my friend got his run-of-the-mill dark roast and we soon began scouring the pastry offering to determine which ones we were going to select. The baristas could tell I was struggling with my choice, so they said "we are known for our croissants". This wasn't necessarily what I wanted you hear since I was starting to zero in on a blueberry cream cheese pastry. However, at there suggestion, I ordered a house made ham-and-cheese croissant. What a surprise! It was perfectly warm, gooey, savory, and flaky. My latte was also a nice balance of sweet and stout which can sometimes be overpowering one way or another at other establishments. In a way, I'm somewhat thankful that my other go-to coffee shop was closed this past Sunday. I think I found I better one because if it! Only complaint would be it seems a little cluttered in the dining area if you intend to stick around. If you are OCD it might drive you a little crazy. I am looking forward to returning.

I've seen this little place on the corner when I drive by, and finally had a chance to stop in last Saturday for a cup of coffee. The coffee was great and the atmosphere was charming. People were sitting around reading the paper having their coffee and muffins. As I got to talking with the owners Peter and Kim, I found out that they started doing wine, and bourbon on weekend nights (big plus). That night we were out and ended up stopping in for a glass of wine. It was busy and people were sitting out at the patio tables! What a great neighborhood place. It's right across the street from Pompilios. I will be going back for the Sunday $4 glass of wine of any open bottle (they are only open Thur-Sun, so they need to get rid of all the open wine). Fun!!

Newberry Bro's is a such a gem! I could rave about this place for hours. I've stopped in a few times for coffee, which is always delicious, but I can never resist ordering one of their homemade croissants. They usually have ham & cheese, and goetta & cheese. Oh my goodness, these things are amazing. They recently started serving wine, beer & bourbon on the weekends. This is such a cute little atmosphere for a date, to hang out with some friends, or even meet new friends! They have an awesome wine list, a beer list featuring about 15 beers, mostly craft beers, and a great bourbon selection, including a few bourbon flight options. Also, anytime you come in here for a drink, they offer complimentary cheese and crackers to snack on. Aaaaand on Sundays they do $4 wine pours, amazing! But the best thing about this place is the owners - Peter and Kim. They are hands down the most friendly, and coolest owners of any place I've ever been to!

wow. the Cheese -Goetta croissant and the cinnamon rolls here are amazing. only the prices ( almost $30 for two croissants, two cinnamon rolls and two lattes) kept me from making it 5 stars.

So the good news is, the coffee drinks are fantastic. The bad news? Good luck getting one. They care more about wine and beer than the coffee they sell- here's a thought- change your name to imply that. I just waited at the counter for 10 minutes- and left to go to a real coffee house that will get me my drink.

Stopped in to grab a coffee on the way to a meeting. It was about 2pm and there was no one there. The two people working were friendly and quick to take my order. The coffee was fine but nothing exceptional. They had some nice danish but I don't have a huge sweet tooth so I didn't get one. Oddly, the sign on the door (and according to yelp) they should have been closed at 2pm but they were open anyway. So, check closely if you stop by after 1pm on a Thursday.

We went last night for a fundraiser and we had such a great time. This cafe really knows how to bring the community together along with fundraising for a good cause. The selection of alcohol was extensive and the atmosphere was happening. Would definitely come back!

We cannot say enough great things about Newberry Bros. We have gone multiple times for coffee and as well as for the wine nights. The owners are so friendly and they really make you feel welcome and comfortable. Their coffee and pastries are to die for and the wine and beer selection is amazing. Newberry Bros was just was this neighborhood needed and we are proud to support such an awesome local establishment.

Go now and try their croissants and cinnamon rolls. I especially liked the pastry with croissant type crust and raspberries. I don't like super sweet items but this was amazing. A real treat!!

Stopped in with two friends after they ran. Great cinnamon bun. The people working there were really friendly and nice. I would totally recommend this place to others. I didn't try any coffee but my friends enjoy the cups they had.

More like 3.25-3.5 stars. I had been anticipating this shop opening for months after I first saw the Coming Soon sign in the window. I finally had a chance to stop in today after multiple times attempts to stop in during off-hours. I'll start with the positive: the inside is adorable, with a few low tables and chairs plus some stools against the long ledge wall. It smells heavenly inside, all the pastries looked delicious and fresh, and the owner was very informative about their offerings. I chose an orange and cranberry muffin and loved every bite. Mmm. Now, the not-so-positive: First off, the hours. Weds-Fri 7a-1p and Sat/Sun 8a-2p. Very limited compared to other independent coffee shops in the area. Also, as a friend had warned me... they are pricey. A drink and pastry will run you about $6. I know they plan to expand to a wine bar and bistro but haven't seen any definite date or timeline. Assuming with that would come extended hours. I'm hoping that they're able to grow and survive, and would love to write an updated review down the line with a higher rating.

We really enjoy Newberry's (and we go pretty much any weekend we are in town and have time), especially for their wine! A fun, laid-back atmosphere greets you as soon as you walk in the door, and you'll usually leave with a few new friends (and I don't typically talk up strangers). It's hidden back from the madness of Newport on the Levee (thank goodness), so it has more of a neighborhood feel. The owners, Peter and Kim, are very friendly and are knowledgeable about everything they pour, and they are great with the "if you like that, then try xyz," which are always great suggestions that get us trying new things among their endless selections of wine (and bourbon, but I'm more into wine). They have really invested themselves in this place and the community, and you can appreciate that every time you visit Newberry's. Peter is actually an attorney, so I'm impressed that he has taken his career in this direction - it's evidence that it's his true passion, and the rest of us get to benefit from it.

A lovely local spot! The owners are welcoming and provide great service. More importantly, the coffee and snacks are delicious! I'd highly recommend the croissants. They're made fresh and they'll even heat them up for you! The croissant with ham and cheese was filling enough for breakfast. Gooey and rich on the inside and light and flakey out!

Pastries are definitely worth the trip. The orange cranberry scone was about the best ever. The croissant was as well. The dark roast coffee was excellent. One month into operating and doing very well, putting out excellent product. Can't wait to see how they grow. Peter and Kim are very nice and hard working- this very good place will get even better with time.

By far, the best pastries and croissants in the area. Always freshly prepared, a weekly treat!
