I've eaten there before and thought the gyros were awesome. So I wanted my parents to try it after leaving a movie. Mom and I sat our stuff on a table and waited for my disabled father to make it there so we could safely seat him before we went in and ordered. A middle aged female shot out and angrily asked if we were planning on eating there. I stammered out a shocked yes and she walked back inside. But her attitide made me so angry we ate at Tom and Chee instead. I will never darken the door of that place again.

I see why this place made Yelp's top 50 list! Gyros and baklava were amazing. The gyros were huge and very full which gave it a ton of flavor. So fresh and the lamb was so tender it melted in your mouth. The woman/owner? was incredibly friendly and welcoming. She knew everyone that came in and took the experience to the next level. She was so sweet. Little confused on the name change from Petra Cuisine to "Greek Burrito"--definitely makes it less authentic, especially with the red cartoony letters out front. Why not make it Petra Greek Cuisine if there was confusion in the type of food served? Can't wait to come back!

As far as the levee goes there are only a few spots (besides AMC) that keep me coming back. This place is one of them! The owner and staff are wonderful . Including adding special spices that aren't featured on the regular item menus. The food is a welcomed change from your typical burger or pizza place and made with fresh ingredients that really make these gyros stand out from any others I've had. The atmosphere is small but very brightly colored and comfortable. Bottom line: Amazing food, fast & friendly service and an awesome price. You can't beat it.

It's in Newport on the Levee. Mediterranean is a nice change from what we normally have. Gyro's original sandwich was delicious...every bite. I love cucumber sauce. If you like lamb and beef crammed together " moo ewe" you'll like it. The falafels weren't as good as some I've had. But you may love that combination. They had "The Love Boat" on, so we were taken back in time. It's just a little store with 3 tables inside and 3 tables out in main "people watching" area if levee/Mall. People are cool, weird, funny. It was fast food, but sometime you want it fast. Best taste of the visit was the Baklava. Moist, Sweet, Light, and Crunchy. Perfect!

As a fan of the gyro, I was very pleased to find this place. It is run by quite genuine folks who are very nice and make a delicious gyro. The "hot" option is no joke and the flavors were tremendous. I highly recommend giving it a shot as you will not be disappointed!

Great food, but I find them open 1 out of 10 times that I visit the Levee. I have no idea what their hours are.

Oh man, this place is legit. The owner is super sweet and will answer any questions you have about the menu board. My first visit, I ordered a gyro and the owner carved the meat and added any and every topping I wanted on it. Overstuffed, it was so delicious I couldn't stop eating it. Needless to say I felt like taking a nap at my desk after I was finished. The falafel here is fresh and doesn't taste like dried out chick-pea-hushpuppies. If you know what I mean.

  • Sarah B.

The gyros here are delicious! We went right at the height of what should have been the lunch rush, but we were able to order without waiting. My husband got a lamb gyro and the meat was incredibly tender. My veggie gyro was also delicious. Great prices! I'd love to try their baklava next time.

Amazing chicken gyro! Super nice guy who runs it with his mom. Very friendly. I'm from Mass and I mentioned I found The restaurant from yelp. He allowed me to scan the gyro package for myfitnesspal app. I wish there are more restaurants like this! The veggies are so fresh and crunchy. Great hummus too

One of the best gyros in Cincy/NKY! Friendly people, excellent service, wonderful food. It's just a little food court place, inside the main building at Newport on the Levee. It's wonderful! If you like gyros, you'll love it. Family owned, tiny little place.

  • Wendi O.

Friendly service and fresh food made fast! We had the vegetarian Greek burrito and the traditional gyro. The fresh squeezed juice is a must!

This place is brilliant!! Great tasting food at great prices. Every time I'm on the levee I'm always drawn to this place. A must try and once you tasted it you will be back!

Wow. Some of the best Mediterranean food I've had in a loooong time. I will draw a line in the sand and state that their tzatziki sauce is the best I've had. It is thick and flavorful and is the perfect compliment to their falafel (and their other selections). I also sampled their gyro meat which was seasoned nicely. If the weather is nice, take a stroll out and enjoy your meal on a bench as you look across the river to Cincinnati. The prices are great and I was full from my falafel wrap. I will be back and support this independent business. Who knew that such great food could come from an unassuming storefront at Newport on the Levee? In all seriousness, run, don't walk to this place.

This place is incredible! I passed it up a few times because it's a tiny little shop at newport on the levee. I finally got around to trying it and oh my god!! Their gyros are amazing! Not much seating, just a couple tables outside of where you order.

  • Zoë D.

Really, really good gyros! Their freshly-juiced-when-you-order fruit and veg juices are also outstanding. This ordinarily would have been a 4-star review but their tzatziki, hands down, deserves a 5th star. I've been settling for sub-standard tzatziki for years because that's all you would get. Thin, watery, runny sauce that's little more than minced cucumbers in sour cream. But here, here these Greek Gods know what they're doing! First off, it's not made from sour cream. I should stop the review right there. Good night, ladies and gentlemen, and good luck. But no, I must go on. Their tzatziki base is as Zeus intended... Greek yoghurt. That's right, not a hint of sour cream. They don't pour their tzatziki over your gyro, they smear it thickly on the pita first. This tzatziki doesn't run, it stays put. The balance is PERFECT! Cucumbers, herbs and spices, actual Greek yoghurt, absolutely nothing overwhelms anything else. It's all in perfect harmony. They also don't mince the cucumber within an inch of it's life, nor are you eating salad. Perfect sized chop, with the final product having the perfect consistency. They have more pita sandwich varieties than just gyros, but this was my first visit, so I stuck with traditional (although not without pain and pause; so many tasty looking offerings). I even bypassed their much heralded spicy gyro (and I'm a chilies addict), just to get a baseline. If you're a fan of gyros, go! Don't hesitate, don't think about it, just go. Your spontaneity will be rewarded.

This is a great find. I'm a huge fan of Mediterranean cuisine, and I only wish there were a few more Levantine/Arabic items on the menu (shawarma, tabbouleh, fattoush, or baba ganoush) but the gyros and dolma are amazing. I order dolma on my gyro with falafel on the side. The owner is friendly and genuine and cares that the food is good. Not just good, but excellent. Glad we live locally, this will be one our places!

This is going to be my new favorite fast Greek lunch place now! GREAT SERVICE, Great price and most importantly the best Greek sandwich I've had in a long time!!

This is a hidden gem in the Newport on the Levee complex right next to Journeys. I had the Gyro and I have to say it was delicious. I recommend adding some of the spicy garlic sauce to it. Each entree comes with plain Husman's potato chips...which wouldn't be my first side suggestion. I wish they offered a side Greek salad or hummus in lieu of chips; (they do have a full size versions of both of those). All in all I would definitely go back. The lady that was working was very sweet. Probably best for lunch or a light dinner. Tip: Bring your own water or drink. They have a limited selection.

  • Bianca J.

I was so pleasantly surprised at how good it was here!! The gyros are awesome, and the dolma is yummy. (I used to live in LA so I have that to compare it to) Great spot to go before a movie, or a night hanging out at Newport on the Levee!

If you enjoy a great gyro, make sure to pay a visit to Greek Burrito! Gyro was great and generous amount of gyro meat. Addition of hot sauce offered made it one of best gyros I have tasted...

  • Brittany W.

I saw no bad reviews for this place and I now know why. It's incredible! The flavor of the chicken was a heck of a lot better than other chicken gyros I've had. I'll definitely be back!

This is a great little place. They have fresh vegetables and meat. It's great quality, especially for the low price.

INCREDIBLY amazing Gyros, I mean they taste really good; the manager puts the meat in a thing that sucks all the fat out but keep the flavor. so its healthy and inexpensive. Their baklava isn't that bad either but its a little cold. they have a wide selection of salads too which is nice. Manager also lets you put whatever you want or extras on your sandwich but still the same price. When I went they were giving out free samples and you could ask for some before you buy anything. I would for sure go again because its something nice to eat before watching a movie. They are also very flexible with mixing sandwich toppings to favor what you want exactly. LOVE this place!

Great food! Great price! It all tastes so fresh, can't beat it; certainly one of the best Gyro places in Cincinnati

  • Guitar G.

This is the best! We were just going to get the baklava, but after chatting with the owner and his mum we decided to try some additional goodies. We're so glad we did!! We also ordered the pita bread which is warmed and gently grilled then wrapped in foil to keep in the heat; the tabbouleh which is the freshest, most delicious tabbouleh I have ever had (and I've had some great stuff before); and the hummus which was super creamy and flavorful. One thing I especially liked about the baklava was that it's chilled. There's something the cold does to baklava that I feel makes it that much better than when warm or room temperature. I have been fortunate enough to eat at some amazing Mediterranean, Greek, and Middle Eastern restaurants and I am very pleased to say that this little place is some serious competition for the "big guys". Another super awesome attribute is that it's 100% family owned and operated (young guys runs it with his mum) and it's the only one in existence! We try to support local whenever possible and we DEFINITELY plan to pay this place many, many more visits!

Finally found a good place to grab a bite when going to the movies! It's very delicious, satisfying and affordable option in the levee. We met with the owner's mother Manal, who was a great lady. She's so friendly, chatty and helpful and I think she's the chef here that cooks everything just like home. She recommended the Gyro and falafel which we had and both were very tastey. She also treated my little nephew with some juice :-) It's a small place, only few tables inside so if you're a big group just carry out and enjoy somewhere else! I absolutely recommend this place if you're in the area.

It is a nice place to get some food before going to the movie. It was very cold outside so the owner even brought us some delicious lentil soup to help warm us up while we ate our sandwiches. He was so nice and welcoming. We look forward to visiting there everytime we go to a movie.

I've lived in many different places throughout the United States, and I have to say this is one of the best Gyro's I've ever had! In my opinion, the Gyros here are better than Mythos (which used to be in the Newport area). Al is the man and is extremely friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone.

  • Greg S.

I can't get enough of this place. The owner is so friendly - the first time I came he gave me half my order free. The food is delicious and CHEAP. A tub of hummus is only 99¢. Whaaaat. I could go on and on about how tasty the food is, but I will recommend listening to the owner's recommendations (making a gyro a little spicy, adding oregano, etc.). He knows what's up.

  • Cynthia R.

Friendly and chatty owner who takes the time to find out your taste preferences so he can try to customize your order. Flavorful sandwiches - falafel and gyros are the top sellers. Good selection on the rest of the menu. Faster than any other restaurant at the Levee and way less expensive as well. There's a drink cooler instead of a soda station but the owner plans on expanding to have a Jamba Juice-style juice bar later on. His excitement is contagious and he genuinely cares about customer feedback so he can tweak his menu (example: when I asked about the soup of the day, he said he stopped making it during the summer because everyone said it was too hot outside for soup). I used to be sad that the Smoothie King that used to be in this location closed. But now I'm so grateful that the Levee actually got an affordable ethnic cuisine option instead!

I work at the Levee at a different company and many of us eat there on a regular basis. Always clean and the owners are extremely nice and courteous. I love their gyro's or gyro salad and their baklava is an awesome treat. They also recently added some fresh fruit you can buy or make into a smoothie, delicious and healthy. I love this place.

I went to Petra for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised! I had the falafel sandwich and baklava for dessert. The lady working the counter was very friendly and answered all of our questions about the different dishes and even threw in some facts about her country's culture. Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Service was fast and friendly. Petra will definitely be added to my regular lunch rotation!

Locally owned by a very welcoming young guy. Absolutely delicious! Fresh yummy ingredients. I love the spicy sauce he users on my falafel. Petra is my go-to lunch spot for something healthy & tasty.

Great friendly service and an excellent quick meal! They were more than happy to personalize your order and the food was delicious with fresh, quality ingredients. I will always come here when I'm in Newport!

After reading the reviews we decided to try it out. The falafel was pretty good. I have had better but it was good and friendly service. I may have went overboard on the toppings so this is why I say it wasn't great, so that one is on me. My wife ordered the Gyro it was good we both enjoyed it. It is not as good as Greek to Me, Sebastians, or Mediterranean King. But this is just my opinion. As I said earlier we may have taken away from the Gyro and falafel by adding to much to it. If we go back we will keep it simple and order the Gyro and or falafel the way it is supposed to be.

I rarely come to Newport but about twice a year my company sponsors a team building workshop at one of our call center locations in Cincinatti and as a Team Time Ambassador, it's an obligation I literally can't turn down. In a town with lotsa gyro options, this place stands out! I love that the owner is so friendly and carves the meat right off the meat cylinder thing himself. Hot and fresh. Perfect. And always willing to answer questions and tell you interesting facts about Newport. Even though I only come here a few times a year he always remembers I take extra white sauce on account of my ulcer.

Had a powerful urge for a gyro. A stomach and mind numbing desire so overwhelming I felt for sure would cause me to regress into a caveman-like feeding frenzy. Thankfully the gyro goddess behind the counter created a gyro of biblical taste. So succulant and tasty...I WAS IN HEAVEN! Love this place and trust me, I will be returning for another round very...very soon.

Service was a bit slow, but it was more than made up for by the most delicious gyro I have had in the Greater Cincinnati area.

  • Mimi C.

This place is awesome! This place is the real deal with awesome, authentic gyros. There are many other Mediterranean options, but my whole family went with the gyros. The great thing about this place is the vast options of add-ons to make it taste great for everyone. Fast service, very clean place. Although its on the small side, due to its location in the mall, its worth bringing your whole family there to try a real gyro.

  • Rebecca S.

It's just a little storefront place, so no atmosphere to speak of... BUT the owner makes up for it with his effort to please and friendly demeanor... and then there's the food. Really, really good. Husband had the gyro, kids (7&10) had the Hawaiian panini and chicken schwarma and asked to come back before they even finished eating! I had the chicken schwarma with hot sauce (must add the spice). Excellent enough that we will return for sure.

  • Nancy C.

My kids have never had a Giro and none of them were willing to try one today. So they chose to eat the potato chips that came with my Giro and my mom's Turkey Roll. The owner was bringing in cans of beverages so they sampled Pink Lemonade and Mountain Dew with Nitrous Oxide (or whatever that stuff is) and I had the Best Giro of my entire life! The lady making the food and slicing the lamb was quick to show me her fresh vegetables and from the taste I would assume she was serving them - they were still fresh! We were trying to catch a movie so I didn't have time to study the menu and determine the price range but my initial reaction is it was worth any amount of money! Best tasting lamb on any Greek Giro I have ever had - I will be back and you should check it out too!
