Solid tasty food, good value. Needs to be a bit more adventurous and explore southern flavors to vault into the five star category. Excellent choice if you're in Mayfield.

This place is a gem, period. The staff are neat, friendly and informed. The place is clean and pleasant and on to the food. Not your typical local fare, but an eclectic delightful menu that has different specials for lunch and dinner. The buffalo shrimp with blue cheese was very good, they make all of their salad dressings in,-house and the pomegranate vinaigrette was terrific. Careful their very fresh mixed green salad is bog enough for two with lots of extras on the plati. Both the Maryland crabcakes and reuben with hand cut fries were excellent. Do yourself a favor, they're just a little over a mile off the purchase parkway, stop there on your next trip by exit 24,.you will not be disappointed. BTW as of this review they are closed on Sunday and Monday as well as closing at 2 on Tuesday. They are open til 9 all the other nights.

While in Mayfield we read about Chow 45 on Trip Advisor. Always preferring an independent over a chain operation it sounded like the place to try. It was a very good choice! My wife ordered a Caesar salad, which was huge with a killer dressing, and a chunky chicken salad sandwich. I tried the roast beef and cheese sandwich special with hand cut fries. We started with an appetizer special of shrimp jammers and they were jamming too, similar to jalapeno poppers with shrimp. Service was great and food was all excellent. We will stop here again.

My husband and I were headed to Paducah for a nice dinner downtown, when we decided to stop here based on reviews. We ordered the special, bacon wrapped scallops with remoulade, and we both ordered an 8oz lobster tail on the side. The food was COLD, when we informed the waitress, she said she would reheat it..... YUCK! No thanks. They did not offer to prepare a new dish, or take it and remove it from the bill, besides we were in a rush after the slow service. The older lady at the register was rude on the way out. It was if she thought we were trying to get a discount. Well, I paid the $26 per meal + 5.99 for a hot dog with no side, a salad, and a potato app and a brownie for my children, for a total of almost $100. The food was not edible, and we left more than 60% of it on the table (no doggy bag for us!!) The waitress with red hair was polite, but overwhelmed, unfortunately, I cannot remember her name.

I thought the fries were awesome! And the burger was good --- And the people were nice once they got over the fact that they saw 2 chicks on Harley's

Wonderful food, a great surprise in the middle of small town KY. From my understanding a retired chef moved back to his hometown and opened this great little gem serving fantastic dishes. I had the Mixed Field Greens with fried black-eyed peas, green apples and hot bacon dressing. Next time I'll try the Fried Green Tomato BLT. For dessert try the Tiramisu. Also has great prices.

Today was my second trip here. Both times were excellent! This is probably the most creative menu in West Kentucky. The atmosphere is quite simple and the service was attentive. It took a while to get our food, but we weren't in a rush. The amount of food that you get for the price is also excellent. Now the food, that is why you go. We had Buffalo Shrimp with outstanding blue cheese dressing. Our reuben and cheeseburger were good, the handout fries were outstanding! The highlight was absolutely the grilled cheese grit cakes. Just amazing! There were some pieces of bacon mixed in, I can still taste it. This isn't just a good restaurant for West Kentucky...this is a great eat hands down!

General I find all of the their regular menu items to be very good and the serving sizes decent, but sometimes there specials can be hit or miss in both quality and portion size. Overall the food we've gotten here has been very good with a few exceptions as noted. Evening meals can be a little crowded and the table are a little to close together for my liking but again it's all personal taste. I don't like to bump elbows this the table next to me, OK they are not that close but it can be loud with everyone trying to talk over everyone's else's conversations. The service is pretty good overall and I have rarely had poor service here. I recommend you try it.

This place is a gem! Creative chef, great friendly attentive service. They do not take reservations and it will be busy so either go early or be prepared to wait. I had the special pasta dish with chicken. I was surprised that the chicken was fried but it was wonderful. My husband had the Carribean rib eye steak, friends had a beautiful salmon dish and chef salad. Sides were yummy, try the cheesy grits and cinnamon apples for treats. The salad that came with my meal was large! Lots of daily specials. I am told that the chef came to this place because he could be creative and he surely is!! We did not have room for dessert but they looked fantastic. If you ever are nearby, this place is a must. We live in Southern California so not sure when we will be back. If you live in the area you are lucky. You can make this a weekly treat. One of the best restaurants that I have ever experienced!!!

Came here on the recommendation of a friend and was pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant in Mayfield Kentucky. Ambience was a bit noisy for us older baby boomers but the food was good. The salmon was great. The Carribean rib eye was good, not great. The pan fried cheese grits were outstanding. Definitely worth a try.

Wow! This place is amazing. We have nothing else like this in Mayfield. The exterior gives no clue to what is found inside. While quit small this restaurant is more cozy then crowded and the decor is just so lovely . The service is also something not found anywhere in this town and rarely found in the surrounding larger towns. The wait staff is spot on. They know the menu without the benefit of notes and answer all questions concisely and politely. The food was positively delicious. I had a burger that was so flavorful and French fries that were made, unbelievably from actual authentic potatoes. REALLY! No frozen "potato type" frozen fries. This is a special little place that I plan of frequenting again and again.

We returned recently and were delighted that they continue to serve a delectable array of specials while maintaining a menu on which everyone can find something to their taste. We found their coffee encrusted ribeye to be the best ribeye we've had in the tri-region. I also devoured something I had never tried, but which has become a new favorite: fried grit patties....wow. We didn't love their calamari appetizer, it was a bit chewier than we are accustomed to, but the main courses more than made up for the overcooked squid. We will be returning!
