Have been here more than once, and loved it both times. Highly recommend their appetizer of the shrimp roll (perhaps the best I have ever had) and the dumpling/potsticker that is pan fried and then steamed. Great! The mushroom soup is very good and I would order again. Highly recommend the Thai noodle dish with shrimp. It was really great. They have an usual fusion concept of Italian and Asian and I wish I tried the marinated shrimp dish with risotto but went for the spicy dish tonight. Service is very good. We did kids but they were young and without a nap. It was tough. But staff was very accomodating and if I had to do it again, I would.

Yaching is a good pick for a business crowd or generally when you're on foot downtown and can't stray too far. I recently visited Yaching's after many years when I was in Louisville and looking for somewhere for dinner. It was very quiet on a weekday, and the prices were a bit high for Louisville. Still the food was good, and the one major vegan option was quite tasty.

Disclaimer: I'm not the biggest fan of Asian fusion restaurants. My friend and I had dinner here recently on a Friday night. We were surprisingly the only ones in the restaurant. There was only one waitress and she was pleasant. I had the szechuan beef stew (pretty much niu rou mian), which was decent.. though pricey at $13. The beef was also different than what is typical in niu rou mian.. fattier and not as meaty. My friend ordered the duck and though it looked good, didn't look like it should be a $20+ dish. Overall menu was overpriced. Wasn't bad but isn't a place that I'd recommend.

A fusion... of slow service (75 minute wait for a meal with restaurant 1/3 full) and lame excuses when called on it. Even with a call ahead if time for our group...didn't matter. Food was average, but fusion...absent aside from the fusion above.

Yaching was probably the only Asian restaurant I could find near where I stayed in Louisville... We ordered one house salad, one beef stew noodle, and one Thai noodle of some kind. The house salad tasted funny. Don't know what dressing they used, but tasted weird to me. So we didn't really eat much of the salad. The beef stew noodle looked very nice and tasty, but the noodle was not thoroughly cooked, and the soup was salty. The beef was very salty too, felt like one of those packed beef you can buy in the supermarket, with a lot of sodium. The Thia noodle tasted a kind of sweet, not sure I liked it... It was overall an okay dinner, three stars for being the only Asian food I could find...

The service was awful. We literally sat 20 minutes waiting for not just our drinks, but ANY drink. Our 3 appetizers (unusually small portions) showed up before any of our drinks arrived. Once the entrees arrived we were all disappointed at how bland the flavors were and how small the portions were. I'd never go back to this place.

Ehh...not super impressed here. Good food, good service. Nothing to sing praises about.

I dined here once again but did not find the food as good as the first visit. Mushroom soup was a strange recipe. Very bitter tasting. The Miso Talapia and Risotto entree was not fresh tasting. The Risotto was very good but the Talapia was not fresh, tasted like made in China. I avoid farm raised Chinese sea food at all costs. This might not have been the case but the fish was not very good regardless. Not a soul in this restaurant on Thursday night. Bad sign??? I will give them another chance and try a different entree. Diminishing price/value relationship.

Yaching's seems to have potential, but it's just not there yet. We had dinner there on Thursday evening and at around 7 o'clock we were the only table in the place. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. The place is really nicely decorated and has a great vibe, but the empty restaurant detracted from our overall experience. We had an order of the Red Chili Oil Dumplings, Beijing-style Pan Fried Dumplings, Lettuce Wraps, Thai-style Rice Noodles with Tiger Shrimp, and Sauteed Tiger Shrimp with Asian Ristotto. All of the food was pretty good, but nothing was particularly delicious. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are moderate. It might be worth a try if you're in the area, but not worth going out of your way.

We had a horrible experience here. Let me start by saying that we were in Louisville on a Saturday night and there was only one other table dining in this restaurant when we walked in. We liked the asian-fusion menu, so we decided to sit down. The summer rolls with shrimp and the mixed mushroom soup were pretty decent, but the entrees were definitely not up to par. We ordered the Szechuan Beef Pot and the Thai Style Rice Noodles with Tiger Shrimp. The beef in the beef pot was like dried out rump roast. The Thai dish had a funky and offensive soapy taste to it, the vegetables were mushy and overcooked (seemed to be frozen), and the shrimp were not even deveined. This was by far the worst attempt at Asian Fusion we have ever experienced.

Don't waste your time. They don't take resturants.com The appetizer was great , but then we got to dinner. My wife had the sea bass. It was pretty good. I ordered the Fillet. The best cut of beef I know, also the most expansive dish on the menu. It was really really bad. I have cooked $2 chop steak that was better. ** They also make their own rules for Resturants.com . The owner came out to talk to me about how they don't take resturats.com om some days( not noted anywhere). She was rude. I could understand if we were busy. There were no more than 10 customers in that restaurant from 6:20-8pm on a Saturday.

Great little place. Growing up in an asian community it's nice to try something that is Asian with a different flair. Had the miso tilapia with Asian risotto. Great and unique flavor. Loved it!

I hate giving Yaching's 2 stars, because the waitress was so nice & the Owner/Chef came out to help the lone waitress handle a few tables and she seemed so nice, too. It just seems like they are trying so hard to make this place a modern fusion restaurant, but some of the entrees look like something I could have made myself. Actually, the Thai Noodles with shrimp dish that I had was almost an exact replica of a meal I made myself a few weeks ago, except the shrimp at Yaching's wasn't as fresh-tasting as my own. The heat was impressive, there were plenty of noodles on the plate, but there was too much cilantro and not much flavor other than the sesame oil and fishy shrimp.

Yaching's is an asian fusion restaurant in downtown Louisville, a stone's throw away from KY Center for the Arts, Actor's Theater, Fifth Street Live! and the waterfront. It's one of the only restaurants of its type on Louisville. Full disclosure: My mother owns this restaurant! That said, I will give you my honest opinion. The food here is spectacular, and many, many people have said so. The popular dishes are the spicy thai noodles (which you can get with tofu, chicken and shrimp). Another dish we love is the spicy pork chop soup (it goes by another name, but I can't remember what it is) that is 100% authentic Chinese home food. None of that sweet and sour chicken and eggroll crap. If you don't like spicy and are not feeling too adventurous, you can venture to the "west" side of the East-West Cuisine and get the bourbon filet - a thick piece of filet mignon served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Or any one of the fish entrees. Delicious! I also recommend buddha steak if you're vegetarian or trying to be healthy. A tower of tofu in a light sauce surrounded by vegetables and rice. Yum. Yaching's weak point is its sometimes spotty service and if the place is busy, your food might take longer than you'd like. The reason is because downtown Louisville does not get a regular flow of customers except during lunch time, so it's hard to keep a lot of staff around when business is slow. When crunch time hits, it's always unexpected. Such is the life of an independently-run restaurant. So if you love good food, make a special trip to Yaching's. You won't regret it!

Came in around six on a weeknight. The place was empty, and I was a bit dismayed. It was very nicely decorated and comfortable. The atmosphere was vey upscale. Subsequently, our server was quite attentive. Very tasty food. I got the pan dumplings which were excellent - great dipping sauce too. The miso tilapia was also good, however, the risotto was dry and was more like sticky rice. Rich flavor, though. Give this restaurant your business, you won't be disappointed.

Although a small restaurant, the food and services are very good there. Let me start with the appitizer first. I like their Summer Rolls and Lettuce Wrap. Both are very tasty and also very healthy. Important to everyone. For the entrees, I recommanded the Sea Bass. Fresh and best serves with the steamed rice and seasonal vegetables. Also the cream sauce in the Salmon Fillet is the best I have ever had. Again both are seafood. Yummy and healthy. Rice Pudding is very decent for dessert. You probably won't have it in other restaurants. The chef makes almost everything fresh, so they can always have your dishes customized!

A nice restaurant, but the asian fusion concept isn't really taken to the max here. Don't get me wrong - the menu was pretty varied; I guess being from New York has spoiled me a bit, and there wasn't anything super interesting/unique. Also, the server was sweet and had a tough gig (playing waitress and bartender on the same night as a local convention), but the restaurant should have known better than to have a waitress that doesn't really know how to make most drinks. Bite the bullet and hire an extra person for convention nights - would have made the difference whether we came back the next night or not, really. The decor and prices were fine. For the area, at least it was something upscale, without being fine dining, that wasn't a chain. And for that, they get their extra star.

Yaching's is amazing. Louisville is my hometown, I love it, but I have to say that a big portion of the community is not familiar with the term, "asian fusion" as well as considering any kind of asian food besides Japanese as fine dining. Located in the heart of downtown, the restaurant is rarely full besides huge conventions or during Derby week. My favorites would be the Five Spice Porkchops and the Beef Noodle Soup. Both are super flavorful and are great dinner portions, so don't worry about not being full! The service is overall pretty good, the owner, Laura, is very personable and friendly. Decor is amazing, ambience is great. I highly recommend you to visit Yaching's if you are ever in town!!!

Many thanks to Yaching's for stepping up in a time of need! At the last minute, they accommodated a small gathering with delicious appetizers and bar service. The decor is very nice and Gino did a fantastic job taking care of us.

Not a bad restaurant, but doesn't quite put it over the top for me. I had the Fried Bean Curd and Garden Tempura appetizers and the 5 Spice Pork Chop. The tofu was the best of the three and quite tasty. The tempura was a bit over-fried, making it more like a regular deep-fry than the lightness of tempura. The pork was well flavored (perhaps a bit heavy-handed) but it was a bit dry. And the rice and vegetables it was plated with were not so exciting. The atmosphere is quite good and would rather see this kind of place encouraged than brought down. So I would say, give it a shot, but don't expect to be blown away.

Although I've only been to Louisville a few times to visit my in-laws, I have to say that Yachings was far and away the best meal I've eaten there. Just down the street from 4th street live (really, how many times CAN you eat at Hard Rock... the wings are good, but not that good) it was a delicious interruption from the string of bland food I'd been fed. its not really "Chinese" food (no lo mein or egg foo young) but is modern fusion. I've gone back each trip. The decor is pretty cool, the staff is friendly, and the food is great. I really liked the dumplings and the spicy pork chops.

Needing a quiet retreat from acres of power tools, this convention chick needed a ZEN like detox. I found it here! The London waiter was friendly, and besides another guest at 8pm on a Friday night, I was all alone in my therapy session with food. The wide assortment of tea choices was impressive. I highly recommend the ginger tea as it complemented the dishes with grace. For starts, I had an Asian chicken noodle soup, which was surprisingly spicy, with a heaviness of cilantro and fish sauce. The noodles were not thick or oudon like, but dainty and thin. Difficult to slurp up with your soup spoon, so ladies if you are on a date - you may want to think twice on this one. The dumplings were a treat with a delicate sauce that was neither sweet nor sour. Very tasty - and you get enough for a meal. Pan fried and hot! Lucky me, I recovered and recharged for another day. I recommend this place, as Louisville, KY needs spaces and places like this, as it is easy to get the fun things in the burbs, but downtown has really changed all that much since I left it 7 years ago. Just another downtown made for the conventioneer, but those things are in every town, Yaching, isn't.

my mom and i wandered in looking for a ladies' room while waiting for a horse and carriage tour of downtown louisville, and were so impressed we had to go back to eat after the tour! the place was amazing. great ambiance. a bit of a wait for the food, but definitely worth it!!! we sat at the bar, and enjoyed every minute, from the music, to the decor, to the flirty bartender!
