This place is so average, that I almost gave it 2 stars. I probably rate it about 2.5, so I'm rounding up to 3. The food is standard, average, American food. It isn't great. It isn't bad. I would say that it is "OK." The menu is pretty small. Breakfast, burgers, chicken, and things like that. All the sides you'd expect - potatoes, fries, etc. The dining room is small. If it's busy, you'll have to wait. And it's usually busy. The things it has going for it are as follows: 1) Locally owned. The girl (Christi) is from the Southend. So I love this. 2) It's ridiculously affordable. Incredible value. 3) Neat decor. Pink and black. Lots of A Hepburn and M Monroe. 4) People are friendly. The turns off being that it is average food, small dining area that gets busy, and it makes you and your clothes stink like grease. You'll definitely need a shower after. It's a local establishment, so I'll always send business to Christi's. And honestly, that's good enough for me.

Christi's Cafe is a gem in this community, as is the namesake of this lovely cafe, Christi herself. Great burgers, comfort food, and breakfast. My husband and I find ourselves here at least once every couple of weeks. The waitresses are all friendly, and service is always with a smile.

Friends of ours go here a lot so when in that end of town we finally tried it. The parking lot is gravel and could use some TLC. Pink and black colors with pictures of classic celebrities for decor. Cozy. When we arrived on a Saturday evening it must have been after the dinner rush since all the tables that were open needed to be cleaned. The menu consists of a lot of sandwiches...hamburgers...etc. Not being in the mood to eat with my hands...I ordered the Country Fried Steak. It seemed to be hand breaded and was tender enough to cut with my fork. They claimed the mashed potatoes were from scratch.....I would debate that one. My fiance ordered the open face roast beef with mashed potatoes. He gave it a thumbs up. I think he ate it to fast to be impartial...lol The best part was the price. Very reasonable. Oh yeah...they serve Big Red and you don't find that very often! I would go back if in the area again but wouldn't make a special trip.

I have been seeing this place for years and decided to finally stop in a few months ago. First off, the place was packed (which was to be expected). We waited and waited and waited to be seated. No one came to seat us. When we saw a table come up empty, we went for it and sat down. We waited and waited and waited for someone to help us. Finally a waitress came and asked us what we wanted to drink. I said, "Well I dunno we don't have any menus and I don't know what you have." Then she left without washing off the filthy table. Another waitress came by and cleaned it off after we waited almost ten minutes. Ten more minutes go by and still no menus or waitress to take our drink order. Twenty minutes and the first waitress comes by with the menus. She gets our drink order and leaves. We waited so long before the second waitress came back with our drinks and she took our food orders. She disappeared. We had no straws or silverware, nothing. Finally after waiting for a very long time she came back and gave us straws and silverware. After a long wait we finally got our food. I ordered a mushroom and swiss burger. There was no mushrooms and I dunno what kind of swiss that was but it did not taste like an swiss cheese I had ever tasted. Matter of fact I can almost bet you it wasn't swiss at all. My mom ordered the roast beef and potatoes. Her roast beef was not right. She took two bites and pushed it away. She said it tasted old and smelled bad. My french fries were luke warm yuck! Never not once were we offered a refill on our drinks or offered a chance to order dessert. Matter of fact, after she brought our food we never saw her again. To get our check we had to hunt her down and ask her for it. Very bad service, nasty food and the restrooms were filthy. IMO they should have fired both of those slow incompetent waitresses. I understand fully that they were really busy and packed but DO YOUR JOB which is getting the food to the people. There is no reason for anyone to be treated in the manner in which we were treated. I know they work hard but always offer refills and get the food to the people WHILE IT'S HOT. I saw the waitresses standing around chatting with friends. Honey, you are not there to chat, you are there to work! That was the first and LAST time I will ever step foot in that restaurant.

On a road trip yesterday, I was headed from Louisville down to Fort Knox to check on the gold bullion stored there. There was a huge trade show taking place at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center, so I decided to get a little ways out of the city before finding a place for breakfast. My GPS routed me out of Louisville on the Watterson (I-265) to US-31W. As I ended my travels on the Watterson and prepared to change direction, I was tempted to hit one of the chain restaurants for breakfast near the intersection. But, then I remembered that I can visit those chain places any time, so I opted to seek out a local Mom-n-Pop establishment along the way. There seemed to be quite a few cars in the parking lot at Christi's Cafe, plus there were a couple big-rigs there in the lot, so I decided to pull off the highway and see if there would be a wait. I followed another vehicle identical to my own and parked alongside. I asked the other driver what she thought of Chrisit's and she told me I'd be wasting my time trying to find anything decent between here and Fort Knox. I noticed that she had a Fort Knox vehicle pass on her windshield, so I assumed she knew what she was talking about. My breakfast partner and I found plenty of seating. Rhonda was our pleasant server, although each and every person on staff seemed warm and friendly. A couple breakfasts were ordered, eggs with sausage and meat lover omelet, and found their way to our table in good time. Everything was done to perfection, drinks were topped off on a regular basis. A military discount was offered at 20% upon presentation of ID. I highly recommend Christi's for breakfast. I can't wait to visit again for another meal!

Cannot say enough good about this restaurant, it's staff, and the owner! Buy local and buy often. If you are passing through the city be sure to stop by for some southern food and hospitality.

I have heard many good things about this place and it did not disappoint. The server was very friendly and attentive. Food was fantastic. We especially loved the breaded cauliflower. Great value for the quality of food.

If you love Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn this is the place to visit. The burger is bigger than your head, I suggest the Big Mouth Burger. They serve breakfast all day.

We drive passed this place everytime we head from the Ft Knox area to Louisville. We finally decided to try it and see what they offered. From the highway it seems quaint and when you walk in it is just that. The theme is focused around stars like Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, John Wayne and Lucille Ball. The staff was nice. The table we chose seemed as if the table hadn't been wiped from the previous customer. When I asked a server if they wouldn't mind wiping it they just said the tablecloths were old and those were stained. I think it still would've been beneficial if she'd wiped it. Guess I need to remember to bring my own next time. We ordered Fried Green Tomatoes as our appetizer. It was our first time having it...ever... and it was pretty good. I'm sure there are better out there but for a first time it wasn't a disappointment. We ordered Country Fried Steak which came with a choice of two sides. I had mashed potatoes and broccoli and my other half had the homemade potato salad and green beans. This too was my first on Country Fried Steak but not for him. Overall, it was good but nothing to where I'd be writing home about or crave to make the drive. Other half liked the fact that the bacon was cooked in with the green bean to infuse the taste throughout the veggies. He wasn't overly impressed by the potato salad. I didn't get to see the restroom to see if there was any decor or how it was maintained. Parking was decent. It would be nice if they did invest a little more in putting their menus in covers or laminating them. Another nice touch would be to have a rotating refrigerated dessert display. They did have a couple of good specials listed on their board. The main special that was advertised offered a $1.00 off the regular price. I think I would've considered it if it offered more than just that or the discount was more like $2.00. Even better would be a 'not on the menu' special. The dessert on the specials that seemed appealing was a choco cake for two. However, we probably would've bought that if we didn't get the appetizer. I may try to eat there again and give it another shot. :)

Nice place. It has a cozy, family-owned diner feel to it. The place was packed on the Friday night I visited, though my party of four was seated quickly. There was nothing extraordinary about the place, but it was just right. The menu included such items as meat loaf, fish sandwiches, burgers, etc. Though this was a nice little 'hole-in-the-wall,' I don't think this would be one of those featured on the Food network that might be worth driving 50 miles out of the way for. However, if this place happened to be in my neighborhood, I would probably visit often. And certainly, if you are ever heading south on Dixie (Fort Knox, Etown, etc.), you should certainly try it out.
