In some ways its annoying that places don't "get with the times" - BUT sometimes I can have respect for those that do their thang unapologitcally. No, you're not going to find bells and whistles at B&C's. They don't do free refills because there is no server, they haven't joined the 2000's and started accepting credit cards. There's no gimmicks. Just pizza. Good pizza. It started when I gave B&C's a call because I wasn't sure how late they were open. I already could sense that it was going to be a restaurant where time stands still - they said "Oh 1030, 11 or so." It was a weekday night around 930 and we arrived at Bonnie and Clyde's with only a few other patrons. As noted in other reviews, it has the feel of a German haus. We ordered a "double" and it was definitely enough for the both of us. We could see the pizza being made as we ordered. I got a goblet of beer (in my neck of the woods we called the schooners) and sat to wait for our pizza. Glancing around we were able to put the pieces together - you essentially order at the window and then take care of yourself. They did bring our pizza out to us instead of calling our card number "4 of Diamonds." The pizza was excellent. Thin crust, sweet sauce, pepperoni and melted cheese. The sausage really stole the show though - super flavorful and delicious. I'm always bummed when pizza restaurants don't have banana peppers but I used some of their pepperoncinis to get the job done. Still would prefer banana peppers. You're not going to get 5 star service here - but do you really need it? Not when the product is as delicious as this one. I'll definitely be back. Worth the trip on da Dixie.

Cash only so heads up, but this is one of the best authentic pizza places I've ever had! Go!

B&C is a Dixie Highway staple. The place has been around for over 40 years, and hasn't really changed much. Is the decor outdated? Yes, the wood paneling defiantly has the feel of a German style beer hall. Do they only accept cash? Yes, some make sure to hit the ATM before you go. Is the pizza amazing? Absolutely (Italian sausage made on site and mushrooms are my recommendation). They also have a great selection of beers and their prices are very reasonable. And they staff are super friendly. In summary, Bonnie & Clyde ' s have a formula that has worked for decades. They are no frills, and are dedicated to serving the best pizza in South Louisville.

A good local dive that serves pizza and sandwiches. They only take cash and the best thing on their menu is the pizza pie. The pizza pie takes about 1 hour to cook so call in your order before you arrive. The pie arrives in a large cast iron skillet and has all of the fixings. It is enough pizza for at least 4 people.

My favorite pizza. Nice old fashioned pizza parlor. Delish! Make sure you have cash because they do not accept credit (or checks). There are a few beers on tap and more in bottle. For serious. Eat this pizza. You will not have any regrets.

Bonnie & Clyde's has been around forever and with good reason! This place is absolutely no frills - they don't take debit or credit cards and there is no waiter service - but the payoff is worth it as the pizza is awesome! The dough, the sauce, and most of the meats are made in house and the quality is impeccable! If you're looking for a casual place to watch a game, drink some beer, and eat some truly delicious pizza, then Bonnie & Clyde's is for you!

I'm actually writing this from my phone as I try out the latest Yelp update. Now, reviewing from the phone may allow for immediacy of response, but I doubt it will help me satisfy my tendency to be verbose. I may have to keep my reviews to simple one word critiques like, "Keen," or "Neat-O," or "Blah." I don't think I need to expand much upon the reviews for B & C, it's good pizza, cracker thin crust, beer glasses filled to overflowing in an outdated but quaint atmosphere that lends itself more to some German brauhaus where you expect young fräuleins to serve you while men in lederhosen dance on long tables to the polka band playing loudly where an old projection TV sits instead. And breathe. You will get the beer. The rest remains only in my imagination.

Been coming here for years, they have the best pizza you can ask for and its 100% more unique than any other pizza joint. I would highly recommend, unless you're super high maintenance.

Been coming here 40 years and hardly any thing has changed. But that's a good thing. Thankfully the owner and the pizza haven't changed at all. Too bad my grandkids can't hang in the kiddie korral! THE best pizza in town.

Very good pizza! Thin crust pizza with great sauce and topping options. Local beer in bottles. A bit age worn but again, very good pizza. How about calling it 5 star pizza but subtract one for the shape and toilets. A place where being a bit of a dive is just fine.

I love the atmosphere. Nice big screen TV to watch. My favorite pizza for over 20 years. The guy with the mustache sure knows how to make some delicious pizza. I hope he don't change nothing. I like no wait staff. Fine with cash only. Pitchers of soda is ok too. Keep it old school. As long as the dude with the stache keeps paddling them great pizzas out the oven, like he has for years, I'll gladly sit at one of the nice tables waiting for my card to be called. Thank ya. See you next time.

You know the pizza is good when you still go there even when it's cash only!! I Love their pizza, they are always friendly! Not the most stylish place, but their pizza is the best. They also put out coupons. Enjoy! :)

An awesome place for groups; family or friend gatherings. Pizza is definitely one of the better choices in the south end.

The first time I went I wasn't impressed. It was loud, the staff RUDE, cold, dated and overpriced in my opinion. And on top of that the pizza was just ok. But I've never given a place just once chance so we went back. The second time around was much better. The food was way better and the staff MUCH more pleasant. We will likely go back.

B&C is one of those rare businesses who are owned by people who simply doesn't care about the customers wishes. They can care less about earning new business because they are completely content with the select few who eat there on a regular basis that keeps the business running. The penny pinching and cheap factor is noticeable in the fact that they do not offer refills, the place itself looks like a scene out of a horror movie, the help there has been less than happy to serve you and they refuse to take cards as a form of payment (hello it is 2014),,,,the stubbornness of the owners wears you out after a certain point and you start to realize that this once respected pizza joint on Dixie Hwy isn't what it used to be back in the day when you were a child and didn't care so much about the little extras that you get accustomed to at other restaurants. The pizza itself is OK, nothing too special to set itself apart from other pizza jints, but with today's booming restaurant industry at full force, there are just much better options out there now. Not sure if the cash system is a way to cheat out the IRS or what, but I do believe that in this day in age, the customers, new and old, are important enough to cater to their wishes in order to make the business stay in business and keep a good reputation. I refuse to cater to a business who are only looking out for themselves in order to save a few extra pennies here and there.

The pizza here has been great at times(number one!) and ranked amoung the best available within Louisville at other times...it is worth stopping by to try it out. I think the thin crust is perfect! The sauce is sometimes great... other times just good... not sure if it changes on occasion, but it seems so.... . As an earlier reviewer so aptly stated and im para-phrasing: "at times its like a roller coaster in that it can have its ups but the downs aren't bad either and you still want to ride because your a fan." As a regular who has easilly eaten here at least 50 plus times over the years...(started at 8 and im 50 now...actuallyI started at 6 because this use to be Shakeys Pizza... lol boy how time flies!) I can say that I grew up on this pizza and am definitely a fan There is no wait staff here. You go up to the counter and order yourself... you pick it up later when your number is called which is pulled when you order from a deck of playing cards...or if your a regular they'll bring it to you... The homely out dated look of the place suits me just fine....and the fact that they still do not take plastic makes me want to cut my cards up...lol and join them!

It was just ok, nothing to praise about... and the fact that they charge for drink refills on fountain soda is ABSURD and that reason, we will not patronize this establishment again.

I have been going here for as long as I can remember and the pizza is some of the best in town. If you get tired of the standard delivery variety pizza take the trip to the south end for some of the best pizza Louisville has to offer. Be prepared though, thIs place has been around for a long time and it's easy to tell once you enter. The dining room is very dated but don't worry once you try the pizza you'll forget your surroundings and start planning you next visit.

The pizza is not my favorite, however, being a pizza fan, it is worth stopping by to try it out. I thought the thin crust was perfect and the sause was fantastic. The in-house made sause reminded me a little of Papa John's, but a tad sweeter. The sauce really complimented the saltier toppings very well. If you were a rollercoaster fan, this pizza is not the tallest, but you'd still want to ride it because you are a fan. It is certainly a "hole-in-the-wall" restaurant. The seating area is one big room with lots of round tables and picnic style tables... all heavy wood with most of the finish worn off. Many of the tables appear to have 30 years of name carvings ("Tood was here '86"). There is a large brick fireplace on one wall (it was not burning when I was there). There is no wait staff here. You go up to the counter and order yourself... you pick it up later when your number is called (my number was an "ace of hearts"... yes... I was handed a large playing card from a deck when I placed my order earlier). You get a whole pitcher to set at the table with your drink... I had to refill my own drink... but I never had to wait for that refill! The Friday night crowd seemed to have a family atmosphere. Very comfortable. Some will think this place is 30 years overdue for an updated decore, while others will think that it is perfect & well seasoned (other newer restaurants have spend a lot of money to recreate a well seasoned, hole-in-the-wall atmosphere... Bonnie & Clyde's is the real thing!). While leaving, a gentleman behind the counter waved and said "Thanks for coming in!" All-in-all... it's a nice place with decent food. Try it out.

Pizza is by far best so far in da 'Ville. LOVE the thin crust! Quality toppings too! Family run- all FOR that! Two problems; LIMITED beer selection and the acoustics are great for a musician's studio...not for a place full of uncontrolled screaming kids. Don't get me wrong. I like kids. Got almost a dozen grandkids. Problem is apathetic parents. Just a little too loud and frenzied for me...I also have been there when its "quiet". Because of the acoustics, there is no dinnertable conversational privacy. Everything that is said echoes throughout the bldg. Just uncomfortable. Bummer.

I ate here once with a large family group. Pizza was nothing to rave about. I think I've had better frozen pizzas. This place turns me off for multiple reasons: 1. Yucky, bland pizza 2. They don't accept credit cards 3. No free refills. You have to buy sodas by the glass or by the pitcher. A pitcher was a whopping $5...and when you have nasty pizza to eat, you're gonna need two pitchers.

I've been going to Bonnie and Clyde's for 20 or more years. My only objection is the cash only policy. The pizza is better than any other pizza served in this end of town. Fast food pizza's, like Domino's, etc., don't even come close. The crust is crisp, and the sauce is tasty. There are plenty of ingredients to chose from and they are applied liberally. I don't think you could do any better in the southwest part of the county.

The best brick oven pizza hands down. Look for the buy one same size $5 coupon. Dixie Hwy fixture that I hope will be around for many more generations.

This place is a classic for us SouthWest siders familiar with the Dixie Highway! Granted in my years growing up in Pleasure Ridge we were never really blessed with great places to eat, except Bonnie and Clyde's. This place is the same as its always been and its such a comfort for me when I come home and visit. I have to eat there at least once. Some things have improved over the years like the amount of smoke hanging in the air, but overall the place hasn't changed a bit. And its great! The thick, dark, wooden benches line the restaurant leaving making it a great place to randomly strike up a conversation with your neighbor as you wait for your pizza. The wood paneling and general decor has a great 1970s vibe that's awesomely retro but not in that purposefully cool way, this place is literally decorated the same as it was ages ago. They have the same large old school projection tv set in the back of the restaurant that was there when I was 14 years old! The beer selection is pretty decent for the southwest side of town. You won't find any rare craft brews or taps, but you will find a decent selection of the biggies but also sierra nevada, anchor steam, and even stella artois. But the best thing about the place besides the great dive bar feel is the pizza. Its a fresh, thin crust pizza with absolutely mounds of toppings and veggies. The sausage is to die for as they make it in house and its got great flavor with just the right mix of herbs and spices. Last I remember the best feeling in the world is ordering a pizza, grabbing your oversized playing card (your order number), having a few drinks, and waiting for the owner (a man whose appearance resembles Rollie Fingers) to call out, "Jack of Clubs, Jack of Clubs". Bonnie and Clyde's don't you ever change, keep making great pizza for a great price here on the SouthWest side. ....well if you do change one thing take plastic?

Awesome local pizza... Dated interior design but feels like an old fashioned pizza parlor so it's fun. Super thin cracker crust with homemade sauce and homemade sausage... My favorite is just pepperoni and mushrooms. Family owned by the same people since I was a child...

Best pizza in Louisville. If you like dough, over-sauced pizza hit up the local awful chain place. This is classic brick oven thin crust greatness. I've been going for 20 years and I will continue to go forever.

I am a big pizza fan and this place is a great change of pace. They serve up a delicious pie and it is very different from Wicks or Bearnos or even Spinelli's. This pizza has a very thin cracker crust, great sauce and numerous available toppings. If you are a sausage pizza fan, you are in luck because they make their own in house. The decor is a little outdated and seating can be tough because you basically sit at long picnic tables. But don't let the atmosphere fool you, this is a great pizza.

The place isn't much to look at but the pizza rocks. If you're about aesthetics, what the heck are you doing on Dixie Highway anyway?! Get over it and eat the darn pizza. It's delish!
