My husband, two boys, and I stayed in Louisville for a few nights on our way to Maryland. We saw Blaze Pizza as we were on our way to our hotel, and it was within a block, so we decided to stop here for lunch. We weren't sure what to expect, since we had never been, but this is officially one of my favorite pizza places! We were greeted at the counter by a man who asked us if we had been there before and then explained the process to us. Basically, you can pick one of their 8 specialty pizzas, or you can build your own pizza. There are different price points for the specialty pizzas, the build your own pizzas, one topping pizzas, and a simple pie (just cheese). All the prices were very reasonable because the pizza you get is about the size of a medium pizza from Pizza Hut. My two sons ordered one cheese and one pepperoni pizza. My husband and I opted for the build-you-own pizzas. One of the things I like most is the selection of toppings. My husband is definitely a meat eater, and there were numerous meat toppings for him to choose from. There were also various cheeses and a choice of red, spicy red, or white sauce (my personal favorite). I like vegetables on my pizza, and I was very happy with the selection offered here. Not only did they have old standbys, like mushrooms, olives, onions, peppers, etc; they also had some unique toppings such as zucchini, roasted garlic, and spinach. The slogan for Blaze is "Fast Fire'd", and they cook their pizzas in a large oven. It was definitely quick. By the time we got our drinks and found a table, 3 of our 4 pizzas had been fired and cut. One of the biggest advantages with this place is that you have leftovers to take home too! Both of my boys and myself took half of our pizzas back to the hotel for later. Overall, for the value and the taste, I would love to go back here again, and I hope they build one in the St. Louis area!

Pizza to order prepped & cooked fast. Was good & topping looked fresh with many choices. Crust really thin to accommodate quick turn time same with sauce very light to allow cooking. All things considered its a great concept the only negative is it was really busy & you felt pressured to eat quick to let others sit down. Will return again.

I cannot wait to go back to Blaze and try ALL the pizza's on their menu. The people at Blaze really have it down to a science. We were quickly ushered through the line and had our pizzas within 5 minutes! The best part is the Blood Orange Lemonade. It was FANTASTIC! I opted for the Hawaiin pizza and it was awesome. The crust is perfect, the cheeses and ingredients fresh, and the sauce perfectly seasoned. Next time I want to try one of their dessert bars!

Very good pizza, even the most complicated build your own is only $7.65 for an 11". It has one size, which is a good size for an adult, rough size smaller pieces. Very thin crust that makes it easy to fold over as long as you don't over load with toppings. Blood orange lemonade is very good. I tried a modified Green strip and was impressed by how good and quick this pizza was. Definitely worth trying.

Don't know why it took so long for me to try this. And all i can say is WOW. It is worth waiting for. The pizza is just perfect. I admit my expectations weren't high since it is a pizza place. But I was blown away. They just made me a lifetime customer!

This place's experience is like a Chipotle except you get a pizza instead of Mexican. The pizza is ready really fast... A few minutes after checkout. Perfect timing to let you get your drink and find a place to sit. The place was really busy but moved along quickly. The pizza is great. Perfect place to get a great pizza quickly. Will be back!

Not a bad pizza joint. I opted the Meat Eater as I am a carnivore. i did however, get it without the red onion.

My son and I stopped into Blaze Pizza in Louisville recently for lunch. The service staff was great and we loved being able to create our own pizzas. There was ample seating, the restaurant was very clean, and the manager even stopped by to check on us. We'd def. stop back in.

Pizza was very thin, which I love! Since the personal pizzas are still quite large, I split it with my boyfriend and we both ordered salads. Highly recommend that option! The tomato/mozzarella(?) salad was delicious and the white pizza was amazing. We snagged a spot outside which was a little crowded being on the sidewalk. The service was great and the employees knew the answer to any question.

Another place that everyone "raves" about, but their is so much better pizza in Louisville. Hot - yes, Fresh - yes, Quick - not as much as they would have you believe, Ingredients - about as sparse as you can get. One of the few pizza places that I leave hungry if I share a pizza; at least great on the calories. Salads are stored in plastic. Staff is friendly, but always falling over each other - they try to appear efficient but you need to go to QDoba to see how open line service is done right.

We have been to Blaze at least 6 times now and it has been fantastic every time. We had been on the look out for a delicious, fast, reasonably priced pizza place to enjoy with the kids and this is definitely it! We can feed our family of four (two adults and two kiddos ages two and four) for $21.00 which is AMAZING! We can't order pizza for carry out for that. My husband and I usually each do a build your own and the two girls split a simple pie which is a basic cheese pizza. I like going through the line like Subway and selecting my toppings from the fresh selection! I love that they have sea salt and oregano to finish off the perfect pizza! I don't think I have ever gotten the same combination of toppings but I have never been unhappy with my selection either! The pizzas are always ready within a few minutes of finishing your order which is a huge plus when you have small kids! Seating can be scarce on Friday evenings when we like to go so sometimes we have to circle and wait for someone to vacate a table but it's a small price to pay for awesome pizza. I'm not sure if it would be possible but they could definitely benefit from expanding their dining room! I also want to add that their customer service is the BEST!!! On our most recent trip my two year old was in a bit of a mood and in the middle of her little tantrum because her pizza was not yet cool enough to eat (actually it was but try telling that to a two year old) she flung her cup of water all over their cheese pizza. The manager graciously helped us clean up the mess and brought them a brand new pizza as a replacement. That was above and beyond in my book especially since it was completely my kiddos fault! We will definitely continue to frequent Blaze! And I agree with the other reviewers, the blood orange lemonade is awesome!

This was my first visit and I viewed this as a pizza place operating in the vain of say Subway if Subway were on steroids. Lots of steroids. The assembly line to make your pie must have between 8-10 people, so rest assured your wait will be short. The food was good but not great, the prices are most reasonable, the service was excellent. You select the option of pizza that suits you, I had the Art Lover pizza, which included artichokes, mozzarella, ricotta, garlic & red sauce dollops. All on a thin crest. My wife had the Red Vine which included ovalini mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, parmesan, basil, red sauce, olive oil drizzle. Again on a thin crust. Both pizzas were made quickly and on a Friday evening Blaze was doing a lot of business. I wouldn't make the trip from Indiana again just to eat here but I always enjoy finding new places to try.

I came here on a Tuesday afternoon around 11am. Not many people, but not too little either. I was immediately helped since there was not a line. I got the green stripe specialty pizza that comes with chicken and pesto sauce along with other yummy greens. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the pizza was. I was not expecting the pizza to be good. The flavor was just right, and the pizza was big enough for me to be full, but not too full. The pizza came out exactly 5-6 minutes from after I ordered it. Pretty fast. Everyone was very courteous at this restaurant and the manager even walked around to see if everyone was having a good time. I will definitely be coming back here because I like that you can order your own pizza exactly how you like without having to share it. The speed of how fast the super heated oven cooks the pizza is also a big plus. Will be bringing people here also.

It was good...we all enjoyed our pizza's and I like how they are "Personal" pizza's. Because my wife and I are Vegetarians, and my son is not...it makes it hard sometimes to order stuff like pizza, not with this place! We all got our own pie and we all loved it. I placed our order on line and picked it up, went fairly smooth. They were busy when I got there and stayed that way until I left. They were getting people through a lot quicker than I thought they would be able to. Nice "Set-Up" they have there! We will be going back for sure!!!

Overpriced small pizzas. I'd rather get a combo pizza meal from Pizza Hut for $5.99 then pay what they charge. A co-worker of mine paid over $4 for a salad. It was 95% lettuce. You can buy two pounds bag of lettuce for $1.99 at Kroger's.

  • Jeremy H.

The crust is sometimes not great but the toppings are what make this place awesome. So many to select from and its all the same price. I really like trying different combinations from blaze.

As a pizza-lover, this place has excited me ever since I heard it was opening. The first visit did not disappoint. The pizza are truly cooked to YOUR choice. They have a few tasty template that you can choose and then add whatever you want. No hidden fees for wanting both bacon and Chicken! Also, I got the GLUTEN-FREE pizza and it was delightful. Very few people can pull it off but this place does. All ready for you in minutes

Our oldest daughter was having a friend sleep over and she recommended us eating at Blaze. She said they have the best pizza. Who were we to argue with a 7 year old? Turns out, she was right! This place has a Subway type feeling to it. You walk up to the counter and tell them what pizza you want, then they make it right there for you. It is a pretty cool concept. The girls loved the thin crust and the pizza was cooked to perfection. They got a plain cheese and it hit the spot. My wife got a "Meat Eater" (pepperoni, crumbled meatballs, red onion, mozzarella, red sauce ) and a "BBQ Chicken" (grilled chicken, mozzarella, red onion, banana peppers, gorgonzola, bbq sauce drizzle). She kept swearing up and down that the meat eater was the best pizza until she tried the BBQ chicken. The crust on both was great. Not super thick, not too thin. Not over cooked, either. They appear to have this quick cook pizza formula down because everything we got was cooked just right. The only reason I can't give this place a 4 is because when it is busy, you are going to have a hard time finding a place to sit. We had 5 with us and got lucky as someone got up just as our order was done. But we saw plenty of others waiting around for tables. If it is super busy and you have to eat here, have someone scope out a seat while the other orders.

OMG, yum! I had seen this place on the news and was excited to try it. I love wood-fired pizza and it's hard to find in Louisville. Plus, the concept of walking down the line and choosing your cheeses, sauce, and toppings to order is quick and easy. They've got a great selection of everything too. I was amazed at how inexpensive the pizzas are. Just $7.60 for a pizza with any and all toppings you'd like. I think they are meant to be single-serve, but my husband and I shared once and were full afterwards. My only negative experience was the last time we went, we encountered a VERY rude young lady at the front of the assembly line. I spoke to the manager about her it was so bad. But everyone else was very friendly and helpful!

Let's see. Placed my order online to be ready 30 minutes later. Went to pick it up and it wasn't ready. Also, I had already paid online (or so I thought), until I arrived and the cashier asked for my card. I explained that I did not bring it because the website told me I had paid. She told me because of some ways she had rung in the purchase, it did not charge me. The manager was standing there and said that they would give it to me on the house. Then I stood there and continue to wait for my order. Then they handed me my pizza, but not the salad I had also ordered. So I asked for the salad. While waiting for the salad, I decided to check the pizza. Good thing I did, because the toppings were wrong as well. Even at free, I do not imagine I will ever go back here.

The least I can say is... WOW! Super fast and excellent service. This is pizza on steroids. Pick a pizza and add unlimited toppings as you move down the line. They only take a few minutes to cook. Perfect amount of sauce and cheese. Let your imagination run wild. I will definitely be back.

  • Zachary S.

Awesome idea and set up. It's like the Qudoba of pizza. 7.65 for a build your own pizza with free toppings! That's a great deal! The pizza crust is thin and they do gluten free as well. Enjoyed the pizza and the environment.

We ate at Blaze for the first time today and loved it!! The price, quality and speed of service made for such a great experience! We liked it so much we ordered an extra pizza to go for my husband to take to work! The employees were all very friendly we will definitely be back!

Good pizza, decent prices, decent front line customer service, excellent manager customer service service. I really enjoy the pizza here. It is fresh and unique. My wife was dissatisfied with the soy cheese offering that was recommended to her on our last visit. A manager sensed her dissatisfaction and offered to remake a cheese free pizza for her. We left very pleased that a manager went out of their way to help make sure my wife was happy with her meal. However, the front line employees were more focused on talking about their friends and dates than they were with helping the customers. There is some training that should be done here for the front line staff. Also, don't get the soy cheese unless you like your pizza on the rubbery side.

Opened a couple months ago and has become one of our family's favorite food joints. First of all, the food is fresh, the service is fast and our family of four adults can eat for under $40. We can each order our pizza to our own specs and we end up taking 1/2 home for lunch the next day. I prefer my pizza with spicy red sauce, mozzarella, goat cheese, spinach, artichokes, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, roasted garlic & sautéed onions. LEEB & BENB get the meat lovers & CHRISB orders the barbecue chicken. Make you own drink and wallah! They call your name when your pizza is hot & ready. They have the pizza cooking art down to a science, we haven't had a bad one yet and have probably been there five or so times.

Whoever figured out how to bake a pizza in 180 seconds deserves all the awards. All of them. Coming into Blaze, I was a little skeptical of what the quality would be like. A pizza for only about eight bucks and ready in less than five minutes? No way that could be a good thing.. I was wrong. I loved this. The crust is ready to go for toppings and once you order, just like subway or chipotle, you watch the employees put your food together right there. I went back and forth between ordering one of their creations or making my own.. I went with the Green Stripe. It's hard for me to pass on pesto! Two of my favorite parts of my pizza: the crispy crust and the fact that none of my toppings fell off as I was eating. That second part might seem a bit silly, but there are so many pizzas out there that with one bite the cheese strings out and pulls off everything on top. There was enough cheese and it didn't string out and pull anything with it. Unfortunately this place is a little out of the way for me, but I'll be back when I'm near St. Matthews again for sure. I'd love to try the blood orange lemonade because it sounds like that's a big hit!

I have been to Blaze a couple times now and I think it might be my new favorite fast food pizza joint! With a Chipotle style ordering system, it is pretty cool to watch your pizza being made right in front of you. There are some other cheaper options (aka Little Caesars) if you are just wanting a cheese pizza, but if you are in the mood to load your pizza with everything ever I would suggest the "Create Your Own" pizza which is just over $7. After you finish ordering, it takes about 4 minutes for your pizza to bake and be in your hands ready for you to devour! Part of the experience for me was also the friendly staff, who interact with you the whole way down the "Pizza Line" making it an even more enjoyable experience. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick, good bite to eat that isn't too expensive. They also have this s'mores pie thing that looked killer but I wasn't feeling spontaneous that day.

Blaze is such an amazing deal for a great quality pizza! Like seriously you get a good size personal pizza (at least I made mine 'personal') with unlimited topping for about $8! Unbeatable! The crust is super thin and crunchy and the ingredients are again great quality for the price! And it's been said before, but if you know what's good for you get the Blood Orange Lemonade. Just do it!

  • Heather M.

I was pleasantly surprised by Blaze's. You can choose between their 7 signature pizzas for about $8, build your own, or cheaper 1 topping and plain. I got the red vine. It has the chunk kind of mozzarella, basil, cherry tomatoes, and the classic red sauce. I asked for extra shredded mozzarella cheese. The staff is friendly and helped us walk through the process. They aren't kidding, it is really fast! Overall the pizza was really good. I generally like a thicker crust, but their thin crust made it feel light, and was really easy to eat. I kept wanting one more slice. I will definitely return.

We've eaten here so many times -- this review is long overdue.... It's my husband's favorite pizza place EVER. $7.65 build your own thin crust pizza with unlimited fresh, tasty toppings - enough said! Awesome, amazing customer service - it's always a pleasure to dine-in here. Love their grilled s'mores - yummy deliciousness. I'm also a fan of their blood orange lemonade - try it! Note for parents of babies and toddlers: There's a changing table in the bathroom.

I went to Blaze on a fundraiser night, where 20% of proceeds went to a charity. Thought that was cool in and of itself. The premise of blaze is pretty much like a subway or Qdoba for pizza. Make your own pizza, tell them what you want, and they fire it in the oven. I loved the value, any amount of toppings for 7.99. I would recommend not going overboard with the toppings like me, as my pizza ended up a little soggy. They also have gluten free crust option. the amount of topping options was impressive, although the quality of the thin crust was just mediocre, but for 7.99 I'm not complaining. They also don't put a lot of cheese on the pizza at all, maybe you can ask for more I'd like, idk. The atmosphere was like any other chain of this type, practical and average. Great for kids, lots of tables, etc. They also had some yummy looking lemonades that I want to try next time. Overall, it was fast, inexpensive, and tasted good for the price. I will be going back for an easy no fuss meal in the future. Great if you have picky friends like me, because everyone can get what they want, and you get your own pizza so you don't have to agree on toppings!

    (4)
  • Lauren H.

You can't really go wrong here. A build-your-own pizza is only $7.65 for unlimited toppings. There are tons of fresh and unique toppings for you to chose from. And it's super quick. After they build your pizza, they cook it in a pizza oven for a few minutes and you're ready. The best part is the pizza is delicious! I love this place, and eat here for lunch or a weeknight dinner quite often. Note: They only have one size pizza, and I consider it enough for one person. I eat a lot and the pizza size is perfect for me. My husband and I both finish our own every time. People with smaller appetites may be able to split one.

  • Laura C.

Their pizza is the perfect thin crust. Not so thin that's it's a cracker, but just soft enough to fold a slice if you want. The choice of toppings is vast and you could easily go vegetarian if you wanted without skimpy options. Service is friendly and fast, and you get a lot for a little. It's in my lunch place rotation now.

I can't believe I have been here three or four times already and I haven't left a review! I love this place and each time, the food and service has been consistently good. I love their array of toppings and sauce/dough/cheese choices. They even have gluten free crust! For sauce, you can get spicy red sauce, classic, or white sauce. My only two complaints are that they do not have my favorite topping- sun dried tomatoes, and when I asked for chicken on my pizza, the girl helping me seemed to be irritated and only put two or three small pieces on it. But I asked the next girl in line to help me if she could add more chicken and she totally loaded it up! This time, I decided to switch it up a little bit. I got their late on Saturday night and the line was super short (usually it is almost out the door). A nice older gentleman took my name and asked if it was for here or to go and down the line my pizza went. I got classic red sauce, mozzarella cheese, feta cheese, chicken, pesto, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, basil, and spinach. It turned out to be awesome! I also got a s'mores pie. Totally worth it. They are delicious. I can't visit Blaze and NOT get one. Overall, I love this place. Fast, friendly, and efficient. If you're looking for a place to customize your very own pizza just how you want it, this is the place for you :) P.S. They also have salads and alcohol! LOL

I've been sitting on this review for probably a year now. When Blaze first opened, I loved it! I loved the concept! I loved everything about it! My only concern was whether the quality would remain as time went on. As it turns out, the quality is still there. They're a smart company with a full line of employees ready to prepare pizzas. I've been here countless times & my creations are always good. No matter how long the line is, it usually doesn't take long to get through it. I visited for the first time in a while just last week. Another restaurant with a similar concept has moved into town. After having that pizza place & comparing it to this Blaze, I have to say that the other place is definitely my first choice. The blood orange lemonade is a standout item here. It's a must try. I normally eat at the restaurant when I order here, but there have been a few times where I've ordered to-go. The pizza tends to not be as good after it sits. When it comes to create your own pizza places, I'll probably go to whichever one is closer. For what it is, the value is perfect! You think an entire pizza to yourself & you immediately think, "Welp, there goes my diet!" The crust is so thin that these pizzas don't kill your diet. It's one thing to compare create your own pizza places, but I really hope these places don't start popping up everywhere. I could see major pizza burnout if pizza places start popping up on every block.

All that could be said about the food is that it's average. It's Subway meets pizzeria All the ingredients look and taste very cheap, but the price does match. Serves beer and wine but has a very high school atmosphere being so close to the mall.

  • Antonio C.

Good pizza. I love the concept here. As you go through the line there's a toppings buffet where you point to what you want if your building your own pie. You pick the sauce, toppings and they put them on your pie right in front of you. I especially liked that it was a set price for the build your own pizza no matter how many different toppings you chose. You can also pick from a list of specialty pizzas that sounded like good combos. The crust was a little too thin for me but good none the less and worked well for this pizza. Definitely worth trying if you haven't. The prices were decent too. Just over $10 for a loaded pizza and fountain drink. The service was good, fast and friendly. Great lunch spot if your in a hurry. The pizzas are prepared and cooked within about ten minutes from ordering to eating

  • Sara T.

This is such a fun concept. I liked picking out the base for my pizza and then choosing toppings as it went down the line. The cooking process really was as fast as they said it would be despite it being a busy day for them. The pizza was great as far as taste. I can't wait to go back!

Blaze Pizza is good at what it does. From the time you order until your pizza is cut will take around 10 minutes, and since you pick the ingredients you know it will be just what you were craving. The greatest strength to the way Blaze does business is one flat price for all the ingredients you want. I've been twice now, and the first time I took advantage of that rule and ordered chicken, bacon, salami, four cheeses, jalapeños, black olives, pineapple, and spinach leaves. The pizza was good and cooked through (crust was crisp and cheeses were melted) but I can admit that I overdid it a bit with the toppings. Like a loving parent, the employees of Blaze never scolded me or told me to back off, but allowed me to learn that lesson on my own. The second time I went, I went with four cheeses again, but stuck with chicken, bacon, and pineapple with a little salt and pepper. This was where the true quality of ingredients and excellence in value began to shine through. Whereas my first pizza was a cacophony of flavors all fighting for recognition, this second pie was a finely tuned orchestra of sweet and savory flavors that satisfied my pizza craving and left me looking forward to my next foray into the choose-your-own-adventure style of Blaze Pizza. Blaze isn't trying to be a $25 per pie gourmet Neapolitan old world pizza parlor. Blaze wants to be your go-to for a fun environment, fast and delicious food for a price you can appreciate.

Absolutely loved this place. Wish there were more around! Chipotle meets pizza and then comes Blaze. Pick your own sauce, toppings etc. The pizza was so amazing I ate the whole thing in one sitting aaaand wanted more because the pie was that dang good.

I don't know what I can say that any other review hasn't, but I'm sorry I waited so long to try Blaze. Oh. My. Yum. For under $8.00 you can build your own pizza with whatever toppings you want! Where else can you do that? The pizza is 6 small slices, so you could almost split it and get a salad. I had seen lots of great reviews about this blood orange lemonade, so of course I had to taste it. If you like sweet, then that is all for you. It was almost too sweet to drink with the meal. There's really nothing else to say except that they're friendly, efficient, and if you haven't already eaten here you are missing out!

My husband's and I ate here for the first time yesterday. The place was packed. The line was almost out the door. We expected a pretty long wait, but the line moved quick. From the point we got into the door till we got our pizzas was only about 15 minutes. Amazing food, with very decent pricing. We will definitely come back!

Great made-to-order pizza fired and ready as quickly as any other QSR. Even gluten-free mom was pleased! Think Chipotle for pizza - go down the line and pick your base, sauce, veggies and protein. So, so good!

Great place $7.95 for a build your own pizza with unlimited toppings. Great place for families. Tried the Blood Orange Lemonaide my new favorite!! Took about 10 min start to finish at a very busy time. Clean ,Friendly, fast service.

Wanting some pizza for the last week, I desired to stop by here after outlining my schedule for the day and realizing this wasn't too far. Now, I was totally skeptical knowing it's days before Christmas so the roads were a wreck. I assumed due to its proximity to the mall, they'd be super packed but hoped for a pleasant surprise. Surprise is exactly what I got! Got in line and ordered a 'build your own' pie. I heard they had personal pies, but when I saw the dough I was surprised how big it was. The variety of sauces, cheeses, meats and veggies were perfect. Plus you can add on as much as you like. Everything appeared fresh and truly honors individuality! Paid for my pie, got an ice cold beer, and sat down with my ipad to do random stuff while I waited. However, it wasn't a long wait. They were handing out pies like clockwork.... And you get a pizza, and you get a pizza! Pizzas for everyone :). My pizza looked amazing and was delicious. The place was pretty full, but it still didn't become overly loud. Two different managers stopped and asked if everything was okay while they got their hands dirty cleaning tables (I eat super slow). I'm pleased. This won't be my last time here.

I'm something if a pizza connoisseur. One of my favorite summer recipes is my own artisan-style pizza on the grill, and I just moved here from a place that boasts several of the top pizza restaurants in the country. So, I'd like to think that I know a good pie when I taste one! In a nutshell, Blaze blew me away! It's a novel concept of fast-fired pizzas made however you want them, including the option of a gluten-free crust. Sidle up to the counter, pick your toppings, spices, and cheese, then wait a short 3 minutes as your pizza is fired to perfection. I got the "white top" signature pizza (magic word was "bacon") and thought I had died and gone to heaven. Savory, creamy, with just enough peppery tang of fresh arugula on top at the end. One of my companions got the "link in" and was kind enough to share a piece with me -- I would order either of those pies again in a heartbeat. I figured with an 11 inch diameter I would have self control to save half for tomorrow's lunch. Who am I kidding?!? I ate the whole thing, and I'm not a bit ashamed to admit it . . . it's pizza after all, and good stuff at that. It's also worth mentioning how friendly and courteous the staff was when I went there. That kept the line moving quickly and made sure everybody's day was a little but better for visiting Blaze.

I could definitely eat here a couple of times a week if I would let myself it is by far my absolute favorite pizza in Louisville. It can be very busy for dinner time and lunch but midday is amazing. Service is incredible and friendly...whatever you do try the s'mores pies and get them heated

I've been coming here ever since the first week they opened. I never get tired of this place! Best price for a pizza with unlimited toppings. It's like a subway for pizza only with a better selection of toppings. I love the crisp fire cooked crust! They cook it fast with a "blaze" of a fire pizza oven. Don't forget just as many other reviewers have mentioned, the lemonade is the perfect way to quench your thirst here. I enjoy the regular lemonade most of the time, but the blood orange is great when you're wanting something different with a bit more twang! Or grab a beer if that your thing; thy come in cute little cups at the register by the salads. I love that they have the gluten free dough for people that need/want that option. The staff is awesome and friendly. They are not stingy with the toppings. Expect someone nice to come around an ask you if you are enjoying everything okay. One time they accidentally burnt our pizzas (due to a new guy learning how to use the fire oven; which we totally understood can happen easily) and not only did they remake them quickly for us; they also gave us each certificates for a free build your own pizza for the next time we came! It was very much appreciated!

The buzz had brought me to Blaze, and I am sure thankful to it. I was in the area today, famished, and remembered hearing such wonderful things about this new pizza eatery. "Would it have personal pizzas?" I wondered. "Is it fast?" Happily, I found out the answers to these are a resounding, "Yes!" In fact, it's what Blaze excels at. So happy discovery No. 1: There are three options, and with the build-your-own option, you don't pay by the topping. So you can pile them on. The build-your-own 11-inch pizza costs $7.65. One topping is $6.25, and the cheese pizza is $5. You can also get gluten-free dough or vegan cheese for a bit extra. I ordered the Art Lover pizza, which comes with artichokes, mozzarella, ricotta, garlic and red sauce dollops. I added on bacon ... because ... bacon. But again, I could have loaded on every topping they had -- which is many -- and I wouldn't have had to pay more. And this pizza was delectable. I'm a big fan of artichokes, and they weren't shy with the amount they put on. They also sprinkled sea salt over the top, which really took this pizza over the top. Happy discovery No. 2: It takes "180 seconds" -- or three minutes -- for them to "fast fire" each pizza, according to the menu board. I didn't time it to verify this, but I can say that it was fast. I barely had enough time to get my drink and sit down before my name was called to pick up my pizza from the counter. And speaking of drinks, happy discovery No. 3: They have blood orange lemonade. It was delightful. They also have s'mores, and while I didn't get to try one on my inaugural visit, I hope to in the future. This restaurant was clean, and the manager went to each table to ask if everyone's pizzas were satisfactory. Don't know if this is just because it just opened, but a nice touch nonetheless. Really, all of the employees were delightful and were on top of cleaning off the tables as people left. Blaze has become my new go-to stop when in need of some fast sustenance while shopping along Shelbyville Road.

It was really fast as usual. This will be my second time going in a different state and the pizza is Perfecto. I love the taste and customer service. Very friendly and they came to check on us at our table. BLAZE IS WHERE YOU NEED TO BE

I love this pizza! I'm picky, being of the New York but snobby variety. I like the nice ingredients. We each made our own pizza, which wasn't overly filling (nicely thin crust, with the charred underside and the nice chewy texture). I took two slices home for the next day's lunch. Pizza was good - I had the spicy marinara, and added my choice of cheeses and vegetables. Service was really friendly. The space is nice, bright, and clean. Lots of parking. We'll be back!

I consider myself somewhat of a pizza snob. I love pizza. I'm obsessed with pizza. So when I try a new place the pressure is really on! This place did not disappoint. Fast moving assembly line and only 180 seconds in the wood fired oven before we were sipping orange lemonade and inhaling the goods. I got the green stripe. Chicken cut into manageable pieces for a pizza (hate when you get these obnoxiously large chunks of chicken), soft chewy thin crust, small pieces of red pepper, pesto, arugula and cheese. Hubby got pepperoni and jalapeño and was equally pleased. One of my top pizza experiences!

Pizza. I love pizza. You probably love pizza. Its delicious. Its a beautiful blend of sauce, toppings, and ooey, gooey cheese all on a perfect thin crust. (None of that pie business, looking at you Chicago-Style.) They can deliver it to your door, and its the perfect food to share with your friends. Blaze took this concept to a different level. These are personal pizzas, customized to your liking! You can pick from a signature pizza or make your own. There are a variety of sauces, an amazing array of toppings- meats, veggies, and cheese, and even spice toppings. The best part, even if you get a signature pizza like I did (Red Vine, highly recommend), you can still customize it by adding or subtracting things from it. If that wasn't good enough, my pizza was out to me within 10 minutes. Thank you Blaze for giving me the freedom of options for these amazing pies.

I went on a Saturday afternoon. Based on other reviews I expected a good pizza experience. I was not disappointed. When I arrived the line was short, so I was quickly served. I ordered one of the standard menu choices and added a few items to it to suit my taste. All of the ingredients appeared to be fresh and choosing was not easy as they all looked good. I am a big fan of good sauce on a pizza and I found their sauce to be very good. As promised, the pizza was quickly delivered. The seating area was clean. The drinks were good (try the lemonades). Even though it's a chain it was excellent pizza. I am putting it on the "keeper" list.

Great pizza descent price. Crust was crispy and had a really good flavor. Ingredients were fresh and there was a large selection. Service was good and employees were very friendly. I like that you can add all the ingredients you want at no extra cost when you get a specialty pizza and even ask for more of an ingredient if you want it without paying more. I got the barbecued chicken with extra ingredients I like and it was really good. I also got the blood orange lemonade and it was really good too. The right amount of sweet and tart.

  • David H.

I got their standard build your own pizza for $7.65 and a glass of water for $8.11 with tax for lunch. I got the standard sauce with mozzarella and ricotta cheese, mushrooms pepperoni sautéed onions roasted garlic and basil. When you walk in it's very similar to Subway; you stand in line and you pick out your crust and your individual toppings or you can choose one of their signature pizzas. All of the ingredients are fresh and you watch the employee build your pizza and then they put it in the oven. I only waited five minutes for my pizza which is incredible. They don't take long to cook because the crust is thin. Since I am biased from living in Chicago and New York I've had the best pizza, but comparing this pizza to local chains I would say it's near the top! All of the employees were friendly and polite. I will eat here again before pigs fly.

First vist was okay but not great. The concept is wonderful and very fast service. BBQ pizza was mediocre with just a small amount of chicken and tasteless BBQ sauce. The pepperoni pizza was also okay but did not knock me over. This is fast food pizza trying to be Chipolte but needs some work to get there. I will be back to try again though as they have the potential to be a great fast food pizza joint!

  • Virga H.

Very tasty and the staff was super nice! There is s huge selection of topping choices or you can get a signature one,,,the crust was crispy and ingredients fresh, although a little more cheese would have been nice...2 small comments,,, the hall to the restroom was kinda creepy and slightly dirty... And it's no tony Boombazz, but a great place for a quick bite...

    (3)
  • Britany G.

Thought the concept sounded cool but I was not very impressed. My pizza was burnt, I told the management and they did nothing- I was told "well we try to get it crispy while making it quick". They have some good toppings (arugula, ricotta cheese, etc) but they top the pizzas very sparingly. On top of that it was not cheap, I couldn't imagine trying to feed a family on that.

    (2)
  • Laura M.

This place is pretty good for a quick, simple, have - it - your - way kind of pizza. It's also a great place to take kids...my son absolutely loves the pizza!! Not too bad on price either. I do recommend it.

    (4)
  • Natalie Z.

This was by far the best pizza I have ever had. The thin crust was cooked perfectly and the topping options were endless. The side salads were extremely tasty as well as the gluten-free beer option. The price was hard to beat and I thoroughly enjoyed the clean, hip environment. I will definitely be back!

  • Tammy W.

We've had take out from here several times, and the pizza has always been great. Tonight, not so much. After waiting in a very long line, my husband came home with 3 of 5 pizzas that were NOT edible. They were so salty we couldn't eat them. Who puts salt on pizza? I thought about taking it back, but who has time for that on a work night?

  • Ben K.

Great pizza and family friendly. The Red Vine is the pizza to get.

    (5)
  • Jennifer C.

This was wonderful...the whole family could have their own pizzas, with just what they wanted in them. My super picky 9 year old lived it so much that he wants to return for breakfast! They have polite and attentive staff, and fast service (don't be intimidated by the line)!

I had the white top pizza and added ricotta. It was SO yummy. And the blood orange lemonade was really great, too! It's a busy little place, but we found a seat no problem.

I met a friend here recently and didn't know what to expect. It's in the former Penn Station spot. It was very crowded and not a casual place you'd want to spend a long time in. But it was fast and good. I had a BBQ chicken pizza that I'd get again. I am not sure if they have many sides, but I couldn't see many fresh healthy sides from my brief search. It would be a good place to take kids or do a quick lunch meeting.

  • Rachol W.

This place is amazing. The customer service is great the food is even better. My boyfriend and I went on a date here and ordered 3 pizzas. 7.60 for unlimited toppings is amazing. The manager even spoke to us and took great care of us; my bf is a Quarterback at Louisville and they treated us like celebrities. The pizza was fresh and I didn't feel like crap after like other pizzas. THIS IS A MUST TRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Rachel B.

Finally a fast-casual pizza place in Louisville! I couldn't believe how delicious my pizza was, especially considering it took them less than 5 minutes to cook it and it cost under $8. I got the Red Vine pizza which is one of the signature pizzas that comes with big chunks of mozz, tomato and basil, but I added meatballs and chicken to it. It was delicious. I got the gluten free crust which I was surprised to learn they actually make in-house and it was so good! Even though it was thin crust, I still had to take half of my pizza home which made for a good midnight snack later. If you haven't tried Blaze yet, go today!

Loved it. Great thin crust pizza at an affordable cost. You get to customize your pizza however you want with as few or as many toppings as your heart desires. Definitely coming back.

I love Blaze Pizza! This is the second time I've been here and it keeps getting better. Customer service is great! The employees here are even more friendly than chick fil a. The customer service just sets the tone for the great pizza for a great price. Like everybody else said, it's subway/moes for pizza! Great concept because, if it doesn't taste good, it's your fault! It was the very busy and they were still able to keep up! My I went from in line to having my pizza in 10 minutes. I highly recommend blaze pizza if you are looking for a decent priced meal and good service

This is my new favorite pizza place in Louisville. This place is BRILLIANT!!!! They serve individual pizzas - which you could easily share between two people [that don't try to eat every meal like it is their last and just want to be satisfied ;) ]. I will tell you right now that it is reasonably priced and that when my family goes out for pizza we will be going here. Everyone can get what they want and they can even have left-overs for later. Spending 7.50 per person is a good deal in my eyes. A great deal is everyone getting exactly what they want and no one itch-baying about another's choice of topping. LOVE IT! I ordered a White Pizza which is one of their "specialty" pizzas I guess. It was fantastic AND as a BONUS, I got to add any topping I wanted at no additional cost! Of course I added artichoke and a few pieces of roasted garlic. LIKE WHOLE CLOVES OF ROASTED GARLIC. Yea - don't talk to me, my breath may just knock you over but I don't really care because it was soooooo worth it!!!! Seriously, where else can you get this. They were DELICIOUS on my pizza. I really love that they don't charge extra for more toppings. Now you know why this just became my new favorite pizza! :)

I decided to try this place after reading all the great reviews by fellow Yelpers. I was not disappointed - excellent pizzas (thin and crispy, just the way I like them), fast (which is extremely important if you're dining with a toddler), great service, and affordable. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the pizzas were. The ingredients taste fresh, you can customize your pizza just the way you like it and it's prepared right in front of you.

  • Anna D.

This will be my new go to spot for pizza. I love the concept, pizza made right in front of you with whatever toppings you desire. I had the meat lovers which was delicious. My daughter had pepperoni. The wait time was perhaps 5 minutes. The line to order was a bit long at 12 noon but that's to be expected. It's lunch time. Also try the blood orange lemonade. It is exquisite!

The pizzas are consistently great. Lots of flavor, not to thin but not too thick crust, and fast service.

I'm a pizza man. I'm a pizza man who prefers crispy pizza with taste. I visited Blaze on grand opening and was pleasantly surprised that such a fast cook time could yield such a great product. Cheers Blaze! I'm a believer in this evolution of pizza creation. Get the half spicy/half regular marinara....also the kalimata olives are killer.

  • Jenny G.

Great new pizza place in town! I'm usually not a fan of thin crust, but I really enjoyed the BBQ chicken pizza. The salad was pre-packaged, however the lettuce was fresh and the portion size was good for the price. Pizza prices were very reasonable. I'm excited to go back and try many of the other menu options!

Very happy with our first visit. Being diabetic I like a thin crust and this crust fit the bill. The pizza tasted great and the options available are too numerous too list. We will be returning.

Loved my first experience at Blaze! I hate it when I got to a pizza place and order a speciality pizza and want to make some substitutions and it costs a pretty penny to add extra meat, sauce or cheese. I also don't like waiting up to 30 minutes sometimes! This place squashes both of those complaints. As noted in other reviews - its the Subway or Qdoba of pizza places... Start out in line picking your crust, sauce, cheese, meat, and other toppings. Then its fire'd and they call your name when ready! 7.65 for BYO, a little cheaper for one topping, and plain is $5. They have plenty of boxes to box up the half you're probably not going to eat (lunch the next day!). A few side salad choice - but I have to say I was not a fan of the caesar and will try a different one next time. They have a couple beer and wine choices (including GF beer). GF friendly - GF crust and asked if we'd like her to change her gloves. Super friendly staff and quick and fun experience! I'm a fan and hope to return soon to try lots of neat combos!

Left Blaze Pizza very impressed. Went tonight (Sunday) at 8:30 PM so I was expecting a short line. We were behind a couple of people but it moved very quickly. I ordered the Meateater pizza and added a couple of things to it. It's $7.35 regardless of the number of toppings which is awesome. They fast fired it and I had my food in less than 5 minutes. As for the taste, the crust was crispy and perfect. The toppings like the pepperoni and meatballs were fantastic. Clearly quality ingredients. And the pizza is plenty big to eat for dinner and have a couple of pieces left over or split. Great price, great taste, and they get you through fast. I will certainly be back.

We ate here last week and love it! Fresh ingredients with fast service. We both ordered a create your own and felt the size was perfect for the money. They make the pizza as you order and fire it in less than five minutes! A fast healthy alternative. We will eat here often!

I can't believe I haven't written a review for this place. I found it earlier this year and ever since then, have been back probably more than a dozen times whenever i'm in this area and want a pizza. So much so that I've turned friends onto it too and they'll often request I stop and pick up something for them too. The service is always good and even when it's crowded, it's never so that you can't get a seat someplace. The main selling point for me is the fact that you can placate both your normal eating friends and gluten-free people like myself who lemme tell ya, it's hard to find a quality pizza joint that does a quality gluten free pizza with toppings. It's $2 more (at the time of this posting) but if you've been gluten-free for any time 1) you're used to that and 2) it's almost usually worth it. They'll ask you if it's an "allergy" or a "preference" because if you're a legit celiac or whatever, they'll actually change their gloves before making your dough. Pretty thoughtful and unusual, but hey... So like I said, Blaze is probably one of my best finds of the year. I hope they open another one closer to Lexington.

  • Chase C.

Absolutely spectacular! The ingredients were all super fresh! The sauce was superb and the service was impeccable! For all less than $10 a pizza, there isn't a pizza place that can top it for the price in Louisville. My girlfriend and I split a pizza and it was amazing. I will definitely return and bring friends.

What an amazingly fast and fresh concept. Pizza is fresh and tasty and not loaded with grease. Set up is counter service and you go through a fast line that let's you design your personal pizza any way you want. Lots of choices in cheese, sauce and toppings. Line moves surprisingly fast and pizza is ready in just a few minutes. Lots of helpful staff on site to see how your pizza is and and ask if anything is needed. The place is great for kids since the kids can design their own pizza. Pizzas are personal size but I've never been able to finish a pizza. No need to ask for take home boxes because they are located near the drink station.

  • Shawn N.

Perfect.pizza . This place reminds me of subway meets pizza...load all your fav toppings at no extra cost, throw it on a thin piece of dough, throw in the oven for 180 sec and wallah! Perfect pizza. I'm done with those other places...Blaze is my new pizza love!

    (5)
  • Matt M.

My two boys love pizza and have been begging too try their pizza...it did not disappoint! It's the Qdoba version of a pizza place, everything right in front of you, choose your toppings, and then they make your pizza in just a few minutes. My 10-year-old are an entire 11-inch pizza by himself because he liked it more than any pizza he's ever had!

Running errands and needed something fast (but not fastfood) as had more errands and an appointment in an hour. I checked the Yelp reviews and they are spot on. Fast and good. I walked into the door and was greeted with the smell of pizza! I was in and out with a white pizza in 5 minutes and even had time for a refreshing Blue Moon while I waited. Definitely stopping in again in the future.

  • Alex H.

This place is amazing hands down. I went today on the grand opening for the free pizza. The line was around the entire building. But their service is so fast we only had to wait in that for 30 minutes. I can only imagine on a day they arent that busy. As for the pizza it's self. I am not a fan of crispy thin crust. But Blaze Pizza has made me a believer. I was spoiled with choices and all their ingredients are fresh and full of flavor. They don't put a lot of sauce on the pizza but trust me they dont need to. Even a small amount pops out with flavor. I will totes go back again and happily buy some more.

I don't think there's any place I've been that must get a review right away....I usually wait a few days and risk the chance of forgetting about something that was really great! Well this time, I wasn't willing to take that risk because this place is on Fa Fa Fa-ya! Beautifully made pizza right in front of you, with endless toppings and all for $7.65 per pie! Woohoo--steal! I had the White Top which is a pizza with white cream sauce, mozzarella, bacon, garlic, oregano, sea salt (optional) & arugula. This was True perfection at its best & the arugula added a nice earthy taste that paired well with the garlic. The kiddos had a simple cheese pizza which they loved although they just had pizza last night. Hands down you have to come here and get it your way!

Best pizza in town! So delicious, the red sauce and ricotta dollops go perfectly together on the Art Lover pizza. The pizzas are perfect individual sizes. This is definitely my new favorite pizza place.

Great pizza made your way thin crust brick oven you can't go wrong extra sauce no problem again you make it the way you want would have gotten 5 stars but table was not wiped off floor slippery ... But end of shift and kids working wanted to get off!!! Understood been there ...

Im from New York and lived in the south for over 10 years, and I almost gave up on real authentic pizza (not that Chicago style junk) but the ranting and ratings on Yelp convinced me to go make a visit, and it did not disappoint. First the selection is amazing, great quality sauce, and toppings. Quick and friendly service and its not very expensive. Note for the first time visitor, the pies are usually only big enough for one person....of course Im a fatty so thats how I roll. Please try the blood-orange lemonade it not disappoint. Great place you have to go.

  • Brad T.

First visit to Blaze was a success. Very attentive, polite staff. As soon as you walk in the door, your eyes feast on a smorgasbord of pizza toppings, sauce, etc. All pies are 11inches. Made in house dough, variety of sauces (classic marinara, spicy, olive oil, and white). Variety of cheeses.....Gorgonzola, ricotta, parmesan, and mozzarella. And a variety of made to order artisan pizzas fast fired by an open flame for 180 seconds. Build your own pizzas. Any toppings, one price ($7.65). The sample pie which includes mozzarella, parmesan, and red sauce ($5.00). Or the one topping....sauce, cheese, and choice of topping ($6.25). Variety of salads (Caesar, antipasto to name a few), and finish with the s'more desert. Washing it down with coca cola products. The crust is char coaled, light and airy. Will definitely be giving this new pizzeria another go around!

Wow, move over CPK. This place is great! It's fast and easy but has a relaxed atmosphere to get in and out quickly or hang out and have a beer with friends! They sell beer and wine, but I had the blood orange lemonade and was delicious. The best part is their signature pizzas are ALL $7.65 and unlimited toppings are no extra charge. The pizza is very "authentic" Italian and loaded with flavor. My fiancé and I split a half bbq and half green stripe pizza as well as a salad and we walked away very satisfied. We will be back soon!

    (5)
  • Samantha T.

The Chipotle of Pizzas! Choose 1 of 8 pizzas or make your own with unlimited toppings. Pizzas are ready in about 5 minutes, it's crazy! Crust is super crispy and toppings are fresh. My boyfriend and I shared the BBQ pizza and the arugula salad. Plenty for the two of us. If you're looking for a quick meal that has the perks of fast food, but the ambiance of high-end pizza, check out Blaze!

    (4)
  • Julie M.

I only tried the Simple Pizza, and I was pretty impressed by the quality and the freshness of it. I promise I will be more adventurous when I return. Also, the blood orange lemonade is great!

    (4)
  • Kaitie V.

This place was great, I went on a Friday evening and the line was to the door, but it moved really quickly so it was never out the door. They offer several suggested signature options or a build your own, either way you can add whatever you want without charging per topping, which is nice. I had the White Top, the white sauce, bacon, and mozzarella were great, and I added sausage to it. It was delicious. It's a great pizza with a thin crust. So if you're looking for a deep dish or a stuffed crust you'll have to go elsewhere but if you want a thin, quick and great pizza, it's the place.
