The new slots parlor /instant racing venue will open to the public Sat. Sept. 12. It's part of the newly renovated Red Mile. If this is you're thing, go for it. (To me, racetracks are about horseracing.) Nice bar with friendly bartenders. Café 1101, your only food choice, is tucked away in a corner of the cavernous room. Nothing warm and inviting about it. The menu is limited -- hamburgers, grilled(?) chicken sandwiches, pulled port with slaw, all with fries on the side. It's cafeteria food at best. If you feel the call of the slots, do brown bag it.

Just went to a wedding at the Round Barn and was catered by Bayou Bluegrass. Hands down the BEST place to have a wedding/reception. The couple had the ceremony and the reception there and the tables were set up for the reception and were perfect! The food was promptly set out and was well worth the ten minute delay from the ceremony to the transition for the reception! First time being in the Round Barn at the Red Mile and had one of the best wedding ceremonies yet!! (7 weddings and counting..8 including this one!) congrats to the couple and CHEERS to Bayou Bluegrass at the Red Mile!

I came here for a special event, and the catered dinner was in the spacious ballroom overlooking the track. This is a gorgeous setting, and I would love to come back to see what race day is like.

Incredible showcase for the sport of harness racing. Idealic setting, good sight lines from the grandstand, and day time racing in late September/early October. This is the standard for other tracks, and they all pale in comparison.
