Love the food. This is a great place to come if you're looking for a whole evening of entertainment. My girlfriend brought me here for my birthday back in July, and it was a really special treat. We ordered the four course meal that includes a cheese fondue, side salad, main meat entree fondue, and then a chocolate dessert fondue. My favorite course is the meat, but they are all great.

I've never been to a Melting Pot before this, and WOW I can see why! The prices! THE PRICES! It was about $90 for three people (4 courses), but it was what mom wanted for mother's day, so...we went. Our waiter, Perry, was a great guy. Super patient, very nice, and hard to shock. We were a little rowdy. Helped us through our menu choices, which was necessary because a table of three strong-minded women does not just say "oh yeah, cheddar's fine", they DO BATTLE. Oh yeah: this is a team building exercise. You have to kind of agree on what you're getting, other than drinks and salads. So prepare to feel like stabbing someone's eye out with a fondue fork. Also: cooties be darned, I am eating off my fondue fork. You lose too much cheese otherwise. And it's so *finicky* to have to take your stuff off the fork only to re-fork to eat it. Forget that. I was related to these people anyway, and the cheese was hot. Next time, I think I'll just go for cheese and chocolate. The salad was unimpressive and so was the meat.

As an app and beer place, or just for dessert, I give it 4 stars. I think I can skip the main meats course and still get the feel and the best of the flavor of the fondue experience. Good cheese, though! Will return.

Five people, three four course meals, one regular meal and one children's meal: $171, not including a tip. Bacon Jalapeno Cheese Dip - soupy and chunky with not much flavor. Cheddar Cheese Dip - thick, flavorful and tasted great with the apple slices. Salads: Typical Salads, nothing special and a small portion. Meats: Various slices of raw meat on your tray that you boil in broth. Very small portions of meat for what you pay for. Some of the meat had gristle and was tough to cut through. Shrimp once cooked tasted EXACTLY like boiled shrimp, which when you get only three, it really made me think that I could have bought 10lbs of shrimp and boiled it myself and saved a fortune. Dessert: Chocolate and Fruit - my children ate everything. Nothing was left and they really enjoyed the chocolate. Atmosphere: It was my sons 16th birthday, it was a special event for us and he really enjoyed it. You could carry on a conversation easily and it felt very private due to the high booth walls. Service: Our waitress was friendly, very nice and answered all our questions but holy goodness she was SLOW! We waited for refills numerous times. We went in at 7PM and was finally finished at 10:15PM, we had planned to try and take the kids to see a movie afterwards, but we never imaged we'd be three hours. Will we go back? Yes for very special with the children, they loved it. For myself and husband, no.

I love this place, but I'm giving it 4 stars because I think they could do a little better on the prices. The four course menu is probably the way to go if you haven't been here before but $35-$40 is too much. I usually only come here if I have a Groupon or some other deal. That being said, the food is wonderful. The mojo cooking style is the best thing ever. However, I think the cooking style should be included in the high price of the entree but you have to pay extra! The veggies are fresh and tasty and don't hesitate to ask for more, they will bring you more dippers if you ask, for no extra charge. Another great thing is the dipping sauces. YUM! The Gorgonzola and Green Goddess are my favorites. Service is always good here too. If you are celebrating a birthday, let them know it when you make reservations and they will have a nice surprise when you get there.

I enjoy the theme, but if you don't like cooking your own food don't go. It's very fun to go with a group of people however, most of my friends balk at paying $100 for a meal. It's worth it to me, but as I said some of my friends don't like that you pay $100 for a four course meal & have to do all the cooking themselves. You can get the same experience and save a little by just getting the cheese & desert courses as those are my favorites anyway.

Ok be prepared to spend at least two hrs ++ but it's soo worth it! Our waiter mike was excellent and as first timers really took the time to explain everything to my kids so they could enjoy it as well. We had all the traditional options(cheese, land and sea, wedge salad and pure chocolate on special for the weekend )which was "parfait " for every one. I was not expecting to cook the meats my self but was enjoyable for me n the kids (who ended it with "mommy we appreciate you cooking for us so much now!" Type revelation) and they loved the teriyaki sauce. Overall great experience and food and we received a coupon to come back as well. Definitely worth the money!

The melting pot is AWESOME!!!! Its a pricy place, but it's soo fun and yummy! They recommend a 4 course meal (cheese fondue, salad, entree, and dessert), but not sure how anyone to finish such a gigantic meal haha. We came here with a party of 3 and made the reservation online the day of, which was super easy. The entree is diff types of meat (sausage, sirloin, shrimp, chicken, Memphis style BBQ pork, salmon), or vegetarian. We all got Fondue by You, which meant picking 3 diff kinds of meat for $19.95, which was awesome cause you got to try different things. Our fav were SALMON and SHRIMP. It also came with all-you-can-eat veggies (broccoli and potatoes). We picked the Mojo cooking style, which is the garlic and citrus broth. And the strawberry salad looked really good! My friend got it and said it was delicious. So the entree itself wasn't crazy amazing, but the dessert, oh my, it was FANTASTIC!!! We got the flaming turtle (which gets lighted up in fire!). Yummy chocolate with nuts and all-you-can-eat strawberries, bananas, pineapples, cake bits, rice Krispy bits, and brownie bits. I will definitely come back again for dessert!! There are so many ones I want to try!

What used to be a 5 star rating has become a 3 star rating. The management and the quality of the ingredients keep getting worse every visit. It is certainly a fun place to go to celebrate a special occasion or go with a large group of lively individuals. I wouldn't not recommend the restaurant, just do not expect 5 star dining.

Was there tonight (Sunday 7pm) and it was as disappointing as last time (a Sunday at 2pm). The host takes forever to seat you, even if you ask for a table at the bar. Both past two visits the place is empty but the bar top dirty with glasses servers have been watching tv and drinking. Service very slow even at bar. Appetizers ordered (meat skewers) came out cold and meat tough. Fondue for two had very scant amount of chocolate and was light on the dipping items. Drinks not refilled. Appetizer plates never cleared though I put them noticeably at the edge of the table. She just sat the ticket folder on top the dirty appetizer plates. Not at all an upscale experience. It has had these consistent issues my past three visits. No need to return.

Where do I begin? This was our first time there. We had reservations for 7:45 p.m. and arrived at 7:35. We were told will be a minute. At 8:11 after 3 other couples were walked in and seated I asked what was going on and was told it will be a minute. The host (if you would like to call him that) was rude, not friendly and a complete jerk to EVERYONE. He argued with several customers while we were waiting. Bad Bad Start. We then got seated, this is where it got better. The server was AWESOME. Her name was Cierra and honestly I think she is the best server in Lexington. She was friendly, explained EVERYTHING and informed the manager of the experience we had with the so called Host. The melting pot was on a fixed menu for NYE and we got the ultimate because my wife wanted the Lobster. Honestly it was good. I would not say it was worth the $60 per person but it was good. The following is what we got: The mushroom soup - Great Bourbon cheese - Great Salad - Dressing (Raspberry vinaigrette) was AWESOME Ultimate meal - Everything was great (especially the Filet) Chocolate was the marshmallow cookies and cream thing. It was Delicious. That was it on the meal. The manager came over and spoke with us during the meal. She was distracted, appeared to listen and said she was going to take care of it. She took care of the first round of drinks for us which was nice. All in all the meal was good minus the opening experience. Would I return? I probably will not. The main reason is the cost. It is far over priced. Good for a 1-time experience.

Jamie was an absolute delight! She personalized the experience for us, providing amazing recommendations and even surprising us with nacho chips as an alternative during the cheese fondue portion of the meal. Everything that she did and recommended was exceptional. She even wrote a note on our receipt congratulating us on our recent wedding. It was the icing on the cake!

I think a lot of people feel like this place is over priced but don't take in to account all the prices are right there on the menu and it's more of a once in a blue moon type place for most. If the complaint is about cooking your own food I'm sort of lost on that one too. If a fondue place... Perhaps some people were not alive during the big fondue craze of the 70's but that's how it works, you boil your own stuff... Anyway... It's an expensive, upscale fondue restaurant . The food is good but not the over sized american proportions that some expect. You can buy one meal/pot or do a three course meal which gives you bread to dip for your appetizer, meat and veggies for your meal in an oil fondue and a chocolate fondue dessert with fruits and pastries. You will pay more than Olive Garden here, that's kind of expected I thought. I paid around $240 for three of us to eat a three course, have wine and probably some extras. It is a lot of money but it's a fun experience and not something I would do often but worth it every once in awhile. Coupons are around if you look that will drastically discount the meal and if you can stomach the idea (food pun there) of paying that much then buy a fondue kit and cook book and have fun at home and save the money.

Way too expensive for what you get. Service was too slow for how much your spending. The cheese, salad and chocolate are the only things I would recommend and will bring the cost down significantly. They should be more attentive for how much they get for the food. The staff has to make up for the price and quality to make the trip worth it. Won't be going back or recommend. Going to stick with Malone's for special occasions its the same price with white glove service from all. And PS don't make our entire party of 6 fill out a form at the end. Not classy

Food was nice but frankly we made it ourselves. What was disappointing was how rude **** our waiter was, I realize that an automatic gratuity helps the staff but it lets jerks be jerks. We were treated like we were in a steak and shake... No he was less friendly. I couldn't believe how short he was with our questions and how he told my cousin that he was busy and couldn't make small talk. He ruined our night. Will not go back.

Fun dining experience, but way over priced. I did the four course experience, the whole meal took over 3 hours. Part of it was the long wait between courses and the time it takes to "make" your own food. Food items were way salty and over seasoned. Spend our money elsewhere.

Didnt think I had to bring my lawyer with me to eat. Took my bff there for her bachelorette party. Staff was very nice until the bill came. To find out they had been adding a lot onto our already ordered meal without telling us. And then pointing out all these little hidden fees in small lettering at the bottom of the menu after we had told the server at the beginning of the night that we didn't want any extras just the meal that the price on the menu (that we saw) covered. Had an issue with the manager. My bff began crying, and a girls night out of fun quickly turned sour. I've had better, save a buck and go eat at a real restaurant in town.

I have read several of the other reviews and only have this to say. This is a place to enjoy not eat and run. The serving pace is nice and slow (for America and I am from S.E. KY, yes a redneck hillbilly). It allows you to enjoy the food with your wife/date and have a bottle of wine. The prices keep out the rif raf folks. Notice how nice and quite it is on the inside which makes for a very soothing atmosphere. Our servers generally know us by name and our preferences. They actually talk to you and take the time to get to know you (this is no easy task while you are waiting on other tables). It is not just dinner but a experience. My wife and I LOVE this place and go about every 2 weeks and occassionally more often. Keep up the good work Melting Pot. If the prices were lower, we could afford to go more but that could ruin it also. Oh, the romantic sitting areas for 2 were designed for average sized people. If you are large, you will not like the setting or the serving sizes. We don't have this problem.

Man, I've got nothing bad to say about the Melting Pot. It is simply my favorite place to go for a special occasion. People always whine about having to "do the work" of preparing a meal. Well that's part of the fun of it, and that's what all fondue restaurants are like. And is it really that hard to poke a piece of meat with a fondue fork and put it in boiling bouillon while you talk to your SO or best gals and sip a glass of wine? My husband and I frequent the place--for anniversaries or when he's leaving for a month-long tour or something. There are two cases in which I wouldn't like the Melting Pot: if I had a bad server or if I went with someone I didn't like. Take someone you enjoy spending time with, and try to relax. Also, don't complain about having to spend money. It's not a Chili's, for chrissake. Know that when you walk in the doors.

Always a fun experience- how can you go wrong with cheese, bread & wine? Sit at the bar for a more casual, non-date environment. Love the traditional Swiss fondue appetizer. Good Caesar salad too.

A little pricey for what you get ($9 martinis!) especially when you have to do the work. But it's unique, the atmosphere is cool, and the cocktails are tasty. The Melting Pot would be a good place for a Girl's Night.

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic! I've been to multiple melting pots and this one is one of the best! The server we had was absolutely amazing. The food has always been fantastic and enough cannot be said about the atmosphere. The restaurant was extremely packed and we never felt ignored or rushed. You could hardly tell anyone else was there. This place is a must go for any special occasion!

This establishment is tucked away into the farthest reaches of a shopping-mall complex, so a casual visitor to Lexington is going to have to work to find it. (Yelp plus GPS is a wonderful combination.) Our visit came after eight hours of Easter Day driving, en route home after an extended stay in Florida to deal with a family crisis. Our rumpled, road-weary selves were, I'm sure, not quite the demographic The Melting Pot typically serves, but the staff was nonetheless very gracious and kind. Despite the mall location, the restaurant interior was understated and classy, with a huge wine cellar front and center and pleasant, unobtrusive jazz music in the background. For dinner we chose the "four-course classic," which includes a cheese fondue, salad, entree course and chocolate fondue dessert. We selected the traditional Swiss fondue, which came with an assortment of bread chunks and vegetables for dipping; we enjoyed this very much, especially the rosemary bread. This was followed by the salad course, which was...okay; nothing special (my partner ordered a Caesar salad while I selected a house salad with the house sweet/tart dressing). Our entree course featured two types of beef, chicken, shrimp and ahi tuna, which we chose to poach in court bouillion. The entree comes with vegetables for poaching in the liquid, plus a variety of sauces. We enjoyed trying all these tidbits and sauces. We finally ended this repast with a chocolate fondue; there are several variations to choose from, but I picked the plain dark chocolate, which came with a variety of fruits and candies (including some festive Peeps!). We enjoyed ourselves a lot here, despite being road-rattled and ready to settle down at our hotel. Probably the least enjoyable part of the meal was the salad course, which was pretty pedestrian and, to me, a waste of dining time. My non-chocolate-loving partner was also disappointed by the lack of non-chocolate dessert fondues, and wound up forlornly picking at my dippables while I had all the fun during the final course. We think a caramel fondue or variation thereof would be a great alternative. I also wasn't terribly impressed by some of the chocolate dippables -- I mean, Rice Krispie treats? I would rather have had double the strawberries or some other fruit. (But I did chuckle at the Peeps included on our dessert plate in honor of Easter. They are improved by dark chocolate.) Two caveats: This is not a restaurant for children younger than high school age unless you have a particularly precocious, well-behaved only tweenager with cosmopolitan tastes...anyone younger and your evening might end in a burn unit (or stabbed with a fondue fork by another diner trying to have an intimate evening with a significant other). And...this isn't a cheap night out, so budget wisely, especially if you plan on exploring the restaurant's rather impressive wine cellar. We have Melting Pots here in Michigan, and we would definitely be willing to try the experience again, this time in fancier duds and perhaps selecting foods a la carte instead of the multi-course option. PS Extra props to the waitperson, who after hearing our tale of cross-country travel wrote a nice little note on our bill thanking us for stopping and wishing us well on the last leg of our trip.
