I have tried this place twice now, hoping that my first visit was a fluke. I ordered the Chicken and Dumplings soup... who puts water chestnuts in Chicken and Dumplings?? Little noodles, tons of broth and random veggies. My bf ordered Chicken and Waffles. The waffles tasted very generic. The dark meat chicken was crispy and was cooked very well. Then I ordered the Szechwan Steak sandwich meal. It arrived with no fries, just the sandwich. There was zero kick to the flavor and the meat was tough. I literally had to chew through a piece. The waitress was slow. When she finally came to check on us, I asked about why no fries... she came back and said we will take the meal off your bill. I was appreciative. All in all, this place is over priced for what you get. The food is meh... The look and atmosphere is nice, and if that's what you're all about, then this place is for you. Myself, I prefer to spend my hard earned money on food that tastes good!

I've been there three times, I believe, and everything I've tried has exceeded my expectations. The menu options are varied from piazza to burgers to fish and other special entrees. So, if you're not sure what you're in the mood for, head to Saul Good, they're bound to have something you'll love.

Stopped in at Saul Good on a quick day trip to Lexington, popped in between the typical lunch and dinner hours, and service was second to none. Our waiter had four other tables, but was very attentive, and extremely quick. My friend and I had the Crab Rangoon Flatbread, French Onion Soup, a few burgers, and the Nutella Hot Chocolate cake. It says right on the menu that the Crab Rangoon Flatbread is made with "surimi style crab" (aka fake crab), which is a crying shame because I think that real crab would push the appetizer from fabulous to flat-out amazing! I could have eaten a few of them, they were that good. The French onion soup was a touch bland to my tastes, but still quite good. I really liked the incorporation of shallots, but the soup was lacking a bit of depth. Both burgers were good, I had the bacon cheddar, my friend had the Portobello. The Nutella Hot Chocolate cake is something you see all the time on Pinterest, one of those three-ingredient-microwave-in-a-cup cakes. However, it was great! Beware though, when they say it's hot, it is really really hot! I would order it with extra whipped cream, as that really enhances the whole thing. Over-all a great place, probably going to pop in again when I'm back down there in two weeks!

Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants around! I have never had a bad meal there or a negative experience. The servers are awesome and the food is phenomenal!!

Get the Szechwan steak sandwich. Amazing! Saul Good is a great casual upscale restaurant. Surprisingly good considering it is in a strip mall location. Service is quite responsive. Prices are not inexpensive; but you pay for the quality.

Cool, chic atmosphere. Phenomenally creative foods. Some favorites in order chicken & waffles, fries (amazingly crisp seasoned perfectly), any burger, and strawberry salad. The service is humble, it is packed on weekends so you may have to wait at the bar for a table. There are specialty drinks offered at a huge nice beer. To the other reviews complaining about the food flavor, your just wrong food should be creative and packed with flavor if you want bland go to a chain! It's a must try in the Lexington area. The desserts are some of my favorites, make sure to save room cause it's SAUL GOOD! Awesome!

Went here yesterday with a friend and had chicken and waffles. No problem with the food, but salty chicken with sweet waffles was a very weird taste for me. Place was decorated well with a Christmas tree placed directly in the middle and mirrors on the walls, which were said to make the place look bigger. Servers were very courteous and would go out of their way to check on us.

Well, I went in thinking " Oh just another chain style place with overpriced food like Malones or Sals." But nope, turned out to be very fair on the prices and the portions were really solid. The quality of food was great as well. We had a big group and we tried almost everything on the damn menu. Not one thing was bad. There were 1 or 2 things that weren't amazing but whatever, nobody can be perfect. Overall, it rocked and I'm going back for sure. The only disapointment I can think of would be my Manhattan that I requested. It was supposed to be top shelf and didn't taste like it. I didn't send it back because I just don't like doing that but, it was all back-asswards. Oh well... The server was amazing and everything came out in time, even with the big group. TRY IT!

I've only gotten steak here, so I'm only really reviewing that. It was over seasoned, and had a burnt/charred taste on the exterior. They also serve shoestring fries which I'm not a fan of.

I have been to this place 3-4 times and so far I don't have anything to complain about. Prices are reasonable and portions are good. Southwest dip is perfect for sharing. They have a variety of pizzas, salads, burgers and sandwiches with some vegetarian items to please both the meat and veggie lovers. During one of those visits, we ordered our food at the bar because we didn't want to wait for a table and miss the happy hour special(3-7pm). The bartender was very attentive and he took care of our orders quickly. Their specialty drinks are great (and half off on thursday happy hour). They have different happy hour specials every day so make sure to check their website. Szechwan Steak sandwich is one of my favorites. It's a juicy seasoned steak sliced thinly and served in a nice crusty bread.. You definitely get your money's worth with large portions of meat they squeeze into that sandwich. I have never tried their desserts . They seem to have a good variety of chocolate desserts from waffles to chocolate covered popcorn. For those that love to top their pizza with unique ingredients, this is the perfect place. They have several pizzas outside of the traditional "pepperoni or cheese" pizza world. I would recommend this place for those looking for laid back american fare with a bit of a fancy twist. You can dress up or have a casual evening out.

Parisian pizza sans ham ... Yum!! Love the Brie melted around with the sweetness of a drizzle of honey and crisp apples = perfect texture and mix of sweet and savory. Our server Tina was amazing, sweet and funny. Also highly recommend the Asian crunch salad or the strawberry salad with light dressing. Ambiance = if tji Fridays and bjs had a baby that went to private school. Yummilicious factor = A

Food was cold and seemed microwaved. Service was horrible, manager wanted to argue rather than please customers (unprofessional). I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Oh, chicken and waffles, how I love thee.... Really, though, I know that every time I go to Saul Good I can leave happy. Their drinks are well mixed and tasty--haven't met one yet that I haven't liked. Both the chicken and waffles and bananas foster can make my evening (though together they might be overkill...I can happily share them both already!). The chicken is so tender, well-seasoned, perfectly fried....The waffle is...a Belgian waffle. What? I love waffles, but they're pretty straight-forward, aren't they? The scallions and syrup and everything together...sounds funny, but is straight up delicious. Bananas foster is a ridiculously tasty and fragrant, melty, saucy, ice-creamy, oh-my-delicious. And this from a girl who only enjoys bananas a few times a year. Waitstaff is friendly and attentive, the vibe is fun and relaxed, and who cares if you don't like chandeliers?!

Great food and the prices are pretty good too. A little crowded at times, very loud at times. Not somewhere I'd go to have a low key, relaxing meal but otherwise it's a great place with great food.

There is enough on the menu to keep me interested for a few more visits, but a few details have disappointed me. The french onion soup is decent. I would avoid the dishes with the blue corn tortilla chips as they are not actually made with blue corn, but loaded with a coloring which is, um, not digestible. I can't understand the choice to use such an inferior ingredient, but I digress. I have been pleased with most of the dishes I have tried, and like that they do have a few interesting beer choices. One strange experience was enough for me to speak with the manager and make me think twice about returning: I came upon two male employees in a restroom stall, one obviously worked in the kitchen. Forgetting about the obvious question, I noticed that they both left the restroom without washing their hands, which is disturbing regardless of what the hell they were doing in the bathroom stall with the door closed.

Not horribly bad but not notable either. My biggest obstacle is the menu, nothing really appeals to me. The food is fine but again nothing great. I would go back but not on my own accord.

Saul Good was an epicurean oasis after a flagrantly steamy Kentucky evening. Went on a busy Saturday night so had a wait of about 15 minutes, which passed quickly browsing in shops nearby and was well worth the wait. Strawberry salad was excellent. Salad greens were fresh, as were the strawberries and grapes. Poppy seed dressing was creamy and slightly sweet. Almonds added a slight crunch. Overall a great combination and a refreshing choice for a warm summer evening. BBQ Chicken pizza also a good choice. The toppings were high quality chicken, blue cheese, caramelized onions (slightly more sauteed than caramelized), and BBQ sauce drizzled on top of a woodfired thin crust. Dessert was a brownie banana split sundae. It was presented well and tasted good, although for 8.99 we were expecting higher quality ice cream and more brownie bites. Staff were very attentive, almost to the point of too much, but were sincerely checking in and we didn't have to worry about being forgotten on a busy Saturday night. Decor was upscale and set a good vibe with black ceiling, butter-color walls and some berry/magenta, black wood, beautiful chandeliers, and dim lighting. Hostesses were friendly as was the manager and waiter. We did have a good time there and left content and well-fed with pizza leftover for lunch the next day (just as good if not better reheated the next day). We haven't tried many places in Lex, but this has been the best so far and we'll be back!

Yum. Best burgers in town. Owner is awesome as well- very good about making sure your experience is a good one. Go, you'll love it.

In from out of town, I tried this place out as I had heard good things. I give it 2 stars because the decor was nice. Otherwise this place was just...bad. The music was 1980s, the main chef was hanging out in front of the kitchen yelling at the line cooks in his hammer pants, and restaurant was at a roar. As for the food, I guess it is a pizza place that also serves chicken & waffles, a few hamburgers, and one steak. Forgive me, but I don't see the attraction in this. I tried the steak, the meat was bland and overseasoned. Overall, I'd say it needs a new chef with a vision that patrons can grasp. I would not go here again.

Great food. Get the tuna sandwich and the chocolate fondue for dessert.

This is my favorite restaurant in Lexington. The menu, like the clientele, is eclectic. The Parisian and Thai pizzas are so unique and delicious that I have a hard time exploring the rest of the menu. The desserts are a chocolate lovers dream. Love this place.

We decided to check out Saul Good last night for a date night before the movies. I loved the decor with all the damask and chandeliers. We were seated immediately on a Saturday night around 6 p.m. and our server was very friendly. One of the reasons we chose Saul Good was because of the specialty cocktail menu that we checked out online. However, the drinks on the actual menu were different than those shown online. If restaurants are going to have a menu online (and they ALL should), then it should be kept current. Otherwise it's false advertising. The drink I wanted to try involved muddled cucumber, but it was not on the winter menu. Fail. Instead I got the pomegranate cosmo, which tasted like nothing but pom syrup. I had to order a separate Ketel One shot to add to my drink to make it taste like a cocktail. My husband had the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Amber Ale, which was delicious (I tried a sip). He ended up ordering two more because he liked it so much. I switched to the skinny margarita for my next drink which was also disappointing. It was made with the same "lite" margarita mix that I buy at the grocery store. That is a lazy bar if you ask me. We did think that the frozen taps at the bar were cool. For my entree I had the Baja Fish Tacos which are on the appetizer menu. The portion was definitely big enough to be an entree. The tuna skewers were delicious, but would have been even better if they had been medium rare instead of well-done (I wasn't asked how I wanted them prepared). I loved the spicy seasoning on the tuna. The pineapple/banana salsa was a new combo to me, and I loved it. It was very sweet which I guess is to be expected with that combo, but it went very well with the spicy tuna and raw cabbage on the corn tortilla soft taco shells. The blue corn tortilla chips were a waste. They were thick and not very crispy and obviously out of a bag. My mother-in-law has a bag of blue corn tortilla chips that we had for lunch today that are much better quality. If a restaurant is going to use bagged tortilla chips, they should at least make sure they are good ones. The chips mostly just stayed on my plate. My husband's entree was the Szechwan steak sandwich, which he said was good but that the sauce just tasted sort of generic. The meat was very well cooked, he said. The fries were awesome (I tried a few). They are thin cut and a little spicy. I'd return to Saul Good if the opportunity arose, but I don't think I'd go out of my way to go there again.

Busy, casual atmosphere with a good menu selection. We started with the Crab Rangoon Flatbread and could have made a meal of just that. Husband had chicken and waffles and I had the Portobello sandwich. A friend had Saul's Big Breakfast and was very happy with her order. Everything was fresh and plentiful. Service was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Saul Good did it again! They master the example of a five star restaurant. The guy that owns Saul Good must be a genus, because what he's created with the three local SGs is amazing. This was my first time at this location. I usually avoid the mall area like the plague, so that's my excuse. It's not actually attached to the mall, just near it... closer to the Regal Cinema though. One of my favorite things about all of the SG locations... the half priced HAPPY HOUR! Every day of the week from 3-6pm, including the weekends there is something offered at half price, so it's not your ordinary happy hour. For example, Friday-Sunday it's half off of their 16 draft beers. Monday is pizza, Tuesday is their specialty drinks, Wednesday is chocolate desserts and bottles of wine, and Thursday is Baja Fish Tacos, Corona Beer and margaritas. The specialty cocktail list rotates, I think twice a year. For their cocktail fall menu, the bar tender told us that there will be several apple drinks. We sat at the bar and watched as they made several concoctions and they all looked amazing! I'll be waiting for the new menu. The service was great too. I ordered the hand-tossed BBQ chicken pizza. The crust, sauce, toppings and everything were perfect. It comes with a suttle amount of bleu cheese. My husband doesn't like bleu cheese, but he raved about the it too. He ordered a burger and he complimented it too. I love the open kitchen concept, so you can see them preparing food, it's not hidden away in the back somewhere to make you wonder if your food is being properly prepared.

A good experience with a base menu that updates periodically. A well chosen beer list that includes a fair amount of local beers. Solid atmosphere. Good specials.

Ate dinner at a different location last night, and my friend asked to go here for lunch the next day! It was so good for dinner I was totally up for trying it again for lunch! 2 of us got the Big Breakfast - potatoes were crisp (perfect!) eggs were good and the waffle was awesome! But the bacon was very limp - ask for crispy next time! Another nice experience at Saul Good!

I ordered the chicken and waffle because I heard it was really good. However, it was okay in my opinion as my standard for it was a restaurant that specializes in chicken and waffles in Houston that knocks your tastes buds off. However, looks like from other people's ordered, a good selection of bar food.

I've been to Saul Good several times and I've always come home pretty full and happy. First, Saul Good offers several different wines and beer to choose from, which is great. I always order the Crab Rangoon flatbread. It is awesome and is good for sharing with friends. I also either get the Tuna Salad Sandwich with a pita bread and the shoestring fries seasoned with Cajun seasonings and a sprinkle of parsley. Or, I get either the Hot Brown or Thai pizza. In addition, I can't go home without the getting the Bananas Foster's Waffle for dessert. It isn't overly too sweet and is always nice and hot. The vanilla ice cream of course is the icing on the cake. Never been disappointed whenever I go here. Also the service is usually great!

First visit here and what a surprise it's hard to describe the menu, eclectic is what it is, check out the Parisian pizza, we are here on recommendations, I started with French onion soup, perfect size as an appetizer and full of flavor, there were so many items on the menu I had a difficult time making a choice and then someone pointed out the waffle to end all waffles a bananas foster waffle, well French onion soup for dinner and then it was on to dessert and wow a meal to remember others in our party had chicken and waffles and they enjoyed their meals too. Excellent service and the owner stopped by our table , I will definitely be returning here when I come back with my wife for thanksgiving.

Great Food & Service! Visiting Lexington on a business trip and was told by the hotel staff to try Saul Good for a good local meal. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. I really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. Ask for Sean when dinning at Saul Good. Great job to gang at Saul Good.

Saul Good has quickly become on of my favorite Lexington establishments. They have clearly built a successful brand with 3 locations open now, and it's not hard to see why. The burgers are very flavorful, the french fries are unique and well executed, the appetizers I've had are a nice twist from the typical fare, the wedge salad might be the best in town, and even the tuna salad on pita bread is excellent. And dessert? You cannot go wrong with any choice.

Possibly my favorite restaurant in Lexington. Such great food and service. Reasonable prices, they got it! Great place to take friends on a night out! I highly suggest getting pizza there, is especially the bacon pizza. The staff is so kind and helpful to all the customers. Hoping that maybe we could get a location near Lexington Green. Can't wait to come back with friends/family and try more food here. Great place for parties and watching sports. You will definitely be seeing my face in this restaurant again.

My husband and I went here for the first time to celebrate his birthday and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is very nice while also being comfortable, service was prompt, the food was great, and prices were VERY reasonable. It did get a little it loud with so many people and music playing at a considerable volume, but it didn't bother us and we were easily able to have a conversation. I had the Turkey Cobb sandwich and my husband had a pizza with steak, pesto, mushrooms, etc. Both were very flavorful. They also had a really good beer selection with 16 beers on tap, including quite a few from local breweries, which we always enjoy. Since it was his birthday, my husband was able to get a 5 oz. beer of any on tap for $1 and receive a discount on his entree (for however old you are, you get that percentage off). Because we were there on a Thursday, they were also offering half-price margaritas, Coronas, and fish tacos. Additionally, Saul Good is a sponsor of the Iron Horse Half Marathon (a local race) and we are always happy to spend our money at places that are invested and involved in the community. I'm really impressed with Saul Good and look forward to returning! Right now they are also offering a deal on Amazon Local, which essentially cuts their already low prices in half (it's $11 for a $22 credit that you can use on both food and drinks). I absolutely recommend them!

This place is solid. I don't live in or near Lexington (my brother does) so I'm not super well-versed in how it compares to other eateries in the area but I've been here twice for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. I got the same thing both times, the portobello sandwich, but the most recent visit (last night) I ordered sweet potato fries with honey mustard (my most newish favorite flavor combination). The sandwich/burger was delicious as always and the sweet potato fries were divine. We ordered a couple of beers, I don't recall what the bro had (a local brew, I think it was the West 6th IPA) but they had Stella Artois on tap so that's what I had. For vittles, my brother had the Texas burger which he said was insanely delicious (I'm paraphrasing) and very, very hot. As in spicy. Ah and he also had a French onion soup that was also devoured in a rather immediate fashion. We ate at the bar which was fun. The place was packed, we got there at around 8pm I think it was. Dare I say this is my favorite place I've been taken to in Lexington thus far? Yes, I probably think so. Our entire bill before tip was like $45. That's for an appetizer soup, two entrees and four beers. Not bad. When they brought out our food, my plate had a side of mashed potatoes on it instead of sweet potato fries. I didn't care, I wasn't going to say anything, but our waittress/bartender noticed immediately and had them whip me up a fresh batch o'sweet potato fries. So nice of her. And the name of the place is just so damn clever.

Was in town for work and this place was highly suggested by two people that worked at the hotel I was staying at. Sat outside on a perfect 80 degree evening. Service was great, southern hospitality at it's finest. The beer cheese & 4 white cheese steak nachos were delicious. Being from Los Angeles, I've never heard of beer cheese and this was a great introduction. The nachos were gone in 2 minutes between the 3 of us dining there. The dessert is something you would write home to your mother about too. The bananas foster waffle with brown sugar, butter, vanilla ice cream, and white chocolate should win an award for absolute taste bud explosion. I couldn't have asked for a better dessert. Can't wait to return to Lexington to have both items again.

After reading some of these reviews, I'm inclined to think that Saul Good might be slightly too far ahead of the culinary curve for its primary consumer base. Although I enjoyed my meal at this restaurant, some of the reviewer comments are absolutely perplexing. If stringing faux chandeliers from the ceiling and throwing some brie on a pizza qualify as "upscale" and "weird flavor combinations", then I'm glad I was just visiting the area for the weekend. Food: The menu at Saul Good is largely comprised of casual American Continental fare, including standard appetizers, salads, burgers, pizzas, and larger entrees. During my visit, I opted for the chicken and waffles, which is one of my favorite southern dishes. I've certainly had better back home in Atlanta, but Saul Good's rendition was still well-executed. We didn't stay for dessert, but the menu does offer an enticing array of options, including a bananas foster waffle, white chocolate cheesecake, and chocolate fondue. Service: Friendly and efficient. Our party of four was promptly greeted upon arrival and seated well within the initial wait time projected by the hostess (20 minutes). The staff was also more than willing to accommodate the child in our group with a high chair and various items to keep him busy throughout the meal. Atmosphere: Although the décor is contemporary and inviting, I wouldn't necessarily consider this an upscale restaurant. Yes, there are chandeliers, mirrors lining the walls, and dark wood accents throughout. However, the clientele is a mixture of all ages and the dress is very casual. Cost: Impressively inexpensive for the quality and quantity of the food. Appetizers are $4-$11, salads are $7-$9, burgers and sandwiches are $9-$13, pizzas are $13-$14, entrees are $10-$17, and desserts are $8-$14. Other: Saul Good offers 50%-off specials on certain menu items from 3PM-7PM on various days of the week, including pizzas on Monday and chocolate desserts and bottles of wine on Wednesdays. Parking is ample and free in the mall parking lot located directly outside the restaurant.

In town for the weekend, my wife and I decided to try Saul Good (thanks, Yelpers, for pointing the way). Although busy and prime-time Friday night, we were seated in 20 minutes, although the table we were given (a high top near the waitstaff service area) was not ideal; and would become less so as the night wore on. We shared lettuce wraps; nice flavor and a generous portion, although a little lacking in sauce. My Szechuan Steak Sandwich was very good, as steak sandwiches go, with tender meat and a soft roll. Had a hard time figuring out what was terribly Szechuan about it; an Asian themed sauce did little to contribute anything but moisture, and the toppings and condiments didn't add much to the theme. If the menu hadn't said Szechuan, it wouldn't have hurt, and it still was a very good sandwich. Nice side salad with it in lieu of fries. My wife enjoyed her spiced up burger, with jalapenos and jack cheese - she was very impressed with the flavor and quality of the burger. We took advantage of the bar's variety of beers on tap, ordering tasting flights--nice way to sample, although I've long been convinced that flights encourage you to drink more, since smaller amounts of different flavors don't bore the tastebuds. No matter, we were feeling festive. Served on a presentation 'oar' of four glasses, with notes about each. This is where our table became an obstacle - the 'oar' is longer than the table, and the handle stuck out into the space where servers were jockeying to do their work. Yes, you're probably imagining correctly - my wife's almost-untouched beers ended up all over her, completely soaking her from the waist down. At this point, I suppose I could end the review, give them one star, and call it a day. But when things don't go right, sometimes it's how the staff recovers that defines their service. It was, after all, an honest mistake, and the staff quickly got towels, wipes, bar towels, cleared the table, replaced her beverages, and the manager quickly apologized and gave us what we felt was a very fair adjustment to our bill. For the rest of the evening, although a little moist, we enjoyed our good food and beverage, and the staff did a nice job of taking care of us.

The waiters are always fun but unobtrusive - making this a perfect casual, date-night place or night out with a few friends. Pizza is fantastic - my favorite is the Argentinian Steak. Also serve peppery fried chicken on top of a sweet, perfectly crisp waffle with genuine maple syrup - delicious. Service is also FAST. I have never waited long for a table, even on a busy night, and if you wanted, you could be in, have dinner, pay, and leave within 20 minutes. That said, we never felt rushed and the service remained attentive even if we lingered. And this might be a weird thing to say, but check out the bathroom - it's got some fun fixtures!! I love the hammered metal sink - isn't that what you want when you go to a restaurant? haha

For being in a strip mall adjacent to a shopping mall (and across the street from a TGI Friday's) it's actually pretty classy-looking. Eaten here several times, and it's usually pretty fast. The chicken and waffles are good, although the chicken can occasionally be tough. The beer cheese appetizer is good, and if you have some left over, they will pack it up and include some extra dipping options. The beer selection is not huge, but there are enough choices to make getting a sampler flight worth it.

I came back again. I got chicken & waffles. My food got to my table within five minutes of ordering. It was nearly perfect, again. [My sister's sirloin... was not. A lot of cajun powder on both steak and cold! fries]. I'll be back...

Neat upscale place. It has a variety of menu items you will not see elsewhere. I am not usually a fan of the open kitchen concept, but I like it here. My last visit I had an interesting Cobb Salad that was all mixed together and very tasty. I don't know what to think about the multi-cheese steak nachos, may have to try them again. :) There are now two locations in Lexington Nicholasville Rd and Hamburg. It is worth a try.

The first thing that I noticed in this restaurant was how lovely it was! I worried that it was all show and no real substance. I was so wrong! The chicken and waffle was great. The white chocolate cheesecake was luscious. The cocktails are delicious, too. The waitstaff was friendly, funny and quick. I'll happily eat at Saul Good again!

i got a free meal here one night after a beauty seminar i attended . the decorum is very impressive. it's worldly as well as classy. the room was dark & exotic & there is every liquor you could possibly imagine in stock behind the bar. cute guy staff in all black. i had the southwestern dip. it was delicious.

Saul Good is a great addition to Lexington's restaurant scene with it's quirky taste combinations that seem to work on everything I've tried. Prices are in the TGIFriday's and Applebee's range, but this restaurant is much better and it's local. My favorites are the Parisian pizza and the Banana's Foster waffle.

This place is weird the menu at first glance has a lot of odd combination's of food. But everybody I was with swear that all these crazy combination's are good, we ordered a few and every body wanted the chicken and waffles which is not that weird and I have had before. The chicken and waffles did not live up to there hype, they where good but I have had better, the chicken was not the best but the waffle was good. I also had a salad which was pretty average and a burger that was also pretty average for a restaurant burger. I would say to try it out and don't be afraid of the menu it's a bit weird but has some good dishes.

I've visited Saul Good on several occasions and have always been impressed. It's a beautifully decorated place-dark wood tables, fun sparkly chandeliers, and touches of mirror and glass to catch the light. From 3-7 weekdays and 3-6 on weekends, there is some sort of half price special-ranging from pizzas to chocolate desserts and bottles of wine or Woodford Reserve bourbon cocktails. Their menu isn't large, but it is rather eclectic with interesting flavor combinations on salads, burgers, sandwiches, and especially pizzas. I'd recommend the Parisian (honey Dijon, ham, granny smith apple, Brie, and honey) or the Thai (peanut sauce, sweet chili, garlic, bean sprouts, carrots, cilantro, and peanuts). Yum. They also have a very impressive dessert menu...Kahlua cupcakes, waffle sundae, chocolate fondue...you really can't go wrong. In addition, the service has always been attentive and very friendly! A new Lexington favorite!

This place is so good. The salads are amazing, the pizzas are as unique as it gets, and if you haven't tried chicken and waffles, you dont know what you are missing. If you are in Lexington and haven't tried it yet, it is a must. The owner is in all the time and will sit down and talk with you if you ask him to. One of Lexington's gems.

Went here on a date over Valentines day weekend(poor choice). It was packed in extremely tightly. The wait was damn near an hour, but the hostess offered us seats at a bar that oversees the dessert prep table after about 5 minutes of waiting(clutch). This seat was intensely mouthwatering. The desserts here look like the kind of foods you see made on the food network shows. Even with the overload of customers, this place worked like a well-oiled machine. We waited no longer than 10 minutes for our food to come out. The burgers were fantastic, as were the french fries. I couldn't recommend anything else, though there was some dessert involving waffles, fruits, rice cripies, and melted chocolate that looking amazing. Everything was way cheap for the quality and amount of preparation. Highly recommended!

Saul Good is one of our regular spots when we're out for a quick bite. The ambiance is nice and the service is always spot on (you can tell the servers are well-trained). The menu is limited, so it would be difficult to eat there more than once every few weeks without getting bored with it. It's fairly eclectic, though, so there's something for just about everyone. The entrees are a little spendy relative to the chains out there, but the quality of food an service is much better, so I don't mind dropping a few extra bucks. I generally settle on the chicken and waffle or steak sandwich... Both have been very good every time I've gotten them. The Southwest Dip is also a favorite. All the desserts are excellent. In short, if you're looking for a good, moderately priced casual spot for dinner that has a menu that's a little out of the norm, Saul Good is always a good option.

Saul Good is pretty darn good. I particularly enjoy the Szechuan Sandwich and the Strawberry Salad. It is also impossible to go wrong with the chicken and waffles (although you WILL need extra syrup, trust me.) The pizza is enjoyable, but not terribly memorable. While the dessert is always sizable and decadent, it usually isn't the best part of the meal. Nice atmosphere, although it can get particularly crowded and noisy. Very friendly wait staff. Also, a GREAT option for carry out.

I'm so confused by this place. I see the chefs walk through the farmers market every Saturday, which got my hopes up for this as a farm-to-table restaurant. Instead, it's a pretty generic menu (burgers, chicken sandwiches, pizzas). I got the burger, which was fine. But the menu was so dull. I really wish they'd highlight local foods and dishes. Be bold. Be original. There was nothing wrong with the food, just nothing amazing. I can't imagine being excited to revisit, though I wouldn't hate it. I'm just disappointed at the missed opportunity

As soon as you step into Saul Good, you know that you're in for a good night! Great mood lighting from the dimmed chandeliers and open kitchen w/ seating to view and a small but intimate bar really makes this place feel like a fine dining establishment...but one look at he menu and your wallet can breath a sigh of relief . The menu offerings range from pizza to steak and beer cheese nachos, however, I think everyone should try their famous Chicken and Waffles! Saul Good is a place that both my wife and I really enjoy, which given our differing pallets, is a difficult task for most places.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. The food can be yummy or terrible. The one thing that is always good is there chocolate fondue. They do have a great selection of draft beer, and it's always cold and served in a unique glass, they have some very yummy mixed drinks too. We like to pop in for a martini and a quick bite sometime before a movie. The parisian pizza is my favorite, it has Brie and Apples on it, I get it without ham, but that's just me. 4/5 times it's always great, I've only had one bad pie, and it seemed to be a new cook. I hate their fries, and the menu can get a little old if you eat out all the time like me. There buffalo fingers are yummy and you can't go wrong with any salad. I love the spinich. I have not tried any entrees as they seen a bit overpriced to me, and I haven't heard great things. They do have chicken and Waffles, but that's not something I would eat for dinner. The seating can be a little crowded so we usually hang at the bar, never had a problem with service, always friendly and nice.

Just went to Saul Good for the first time - after hearing a lot of good feedback about the place. I enjoyed the atmosphere and thought the menu was really well thought out. It's and interesting place because I think The Pub (right across the parking lot) does pub food and drinks better...and Smashing Tomato (down the way a bit) does Pizza better. What Saul Good did better was family friendly - and offering a little bit of something for everyone. I had a Thai Pizza that was great. The atmosphere was really nice and we all had a good time. We'll go back.

Wonderful service, unique tastes, and a great atmosphere. Nothing on the menu is over $14 and food portions are perfect for the price. Definitely recommended as a casual dining place. Free WiFi is available as well. The chicken and waffles was excellent and my friends had the mexican pizza and texas burger and both looked good.

Another great locally owned and operated restaurant for Lexington! The menu is a reflection of a global taste - a fusion of unexpected flavors that works wonderfully on a plate / bowl. The atmosphere also reflects a local pub with contemporary global twist. I have been there 3 or 4 times so far with a group of friends (8-9). I would recommend starting your evening with a delicious martini. The bartenders are well trained and very personable. At the dinner table, the flavors of the food is very impressionable. I ordered the Thai Pizza and it was excellent. Each bite was a kaleidoscope of Pan Asian flavors delivered in the familiar "classic American" comfort food - the pizza. My partner had the Szechwan Steak Sandwich. When they delivered his food, I managed to steal a sample bite off his plate. The beef was not as tender as I would like, but the flavors were very inspiring. As for dessert, we ordered the Banana Foster Waffle to share. It was a great ending to the evening. It was sweet but not overwhelming, the waffle helped cushion the sugar punch. Cold ice cream with hot caramelized bananas on top of a warm waffle... how could I not spell LOVE with that huh? : ) During our visits, the owners managed to stop by several times to check on us and thank us for coming to their restaurant. I like that personal touch and it shows that they take pride and care in what they do. My advice: go early, go hungry, and go with a small group of friends (4-6). First, have a drink or two at the bar, then order different items at the table and share. You will be amazed by the new yet familiar and bold flavors. Do save room for desserts!
