The food is really great for the price, especially during lunch. Not the best place to go if you want variety because they only have limited selection of entrees and sides.

Finally, a dream come true. Late night Chinese take out! Food was good, and at $1 per scoop of food the price is pretty reasonable too. The menu selection is kind of limited though. Fast and friendly service. Definitely worth a visit.

One star for really not very good food, and a second star for really cheap. Lured by the promise of quick gratification and basic sustenance late on a Monday evening, and encouraged by the raves, two bites into this drivel the realization hit prior reviews had been written by inebriated college students of modest means. Buyer be ware.

I was lead to this place by a nurse in the drs office one day and she told me that if you ever wanted a really cheap and great food to go to the red dot across the street. If you are limited on funds and hunger to go here cause you get awesome amount of food for the price. So I went there afterwards limited on funds and was surprised that anything on the buffet was a $1 a heaping scoop and drinks only $1.39. The food was really good tasting. Its a place where you have to go into it cause from looking outside it dont look like much of anything. The staff is friendly and its always clean. Good Food.

Great quick service type Chinese food. Very inexpensive. Similar to a Panda Express only with better flavors and more entertaining service. The music is unedited for language so might not be the best place to bring your kids, but if you are looking for something fast, cheap, and good, try the chicken and broccoli or the general tso's(or both) and some lo mein. My wife and I got food for both of us and one of us got a soda and we were out 8 bucks. Can't beat that anywhere else I have found.

Awesome new place in town! Owner has got this one right, pricing, food, atmosphere, staffing, it's all great! You definitely need to check this place out! Owner helped me out, tailor made it for me, and I even had to let him know that he could go lighter in my portions. He also came over to check . On every table. Nothing bad to say here! Do your tastebuds and wallet a favor and come here! Open late on the weekends too!

Killer concept and right around the corner from my house! The menu is getting better and better but the staff and inside decor and atmosphere are great. I love the modern style and how quickly you can be in and out for lunch!

Food's pretty good for Chinese takeout. I personally go only for authentic with very few exceptions, but this was definitely worth it considering the extremely reasonable price. Also, one time the guy who owns the place ran out of an item I wanted, so once he finished restocking it, he actually came to our table and gave me a free plate of it. Very good service Interior is great, food is commendable if you're ok with non-authentic, service great, and price unbeatable. 5 stars.

I question why the 5 stars. Really? Absolutely, the dirtiest restaurant where I have ever eaten. I can get far better Chinese in this town for the same price. The portions were so small, that we left unsatisfied, vowing to never return. I've been to the sushi place, which is good and somewhat clean.

wow.. where do I begin? I personally believe that Red Bang Bang is heaven on earth. The quality of food is second to no Chinese restaurant in Lexington and this kind of late night availability is something I've only dreamed of. Not to mention scoops are $1 and you can be full from $4 of authentic Chinese goodness. Let me recommend to you a few dishes. I personally prefer fried rice to noodles. Although, most of my friends swear by the noodles. I also would suggest that you try the Hibachi Chicken. This option is not available during the wee morning hours but, it's a lunch time go-to. There is one thing on the menu that I think everyone can agree upon: Crab Rangoons. I honestly have no idea what is inside these creamy, flakey wonders and I truly don't care. They are the best things that I have ever encountered and getting 2 for a dollar makes me believe that there may be a God. Red Bang Bang has never done me wrong and I think it's something everyone could fall head over heels in love with, just as I have. 5 stars all day every day. If you don't love Red Bang Bang then f*** you.

I was in town visiting my sister. She suggested that we go to RBB. Aa a college student, she frequently comes to this spot. At $1.10 per serving, you can't really complain about the food too much. I ordered the fried rice, spicy tofu, sesame chicken, mixed veggies and spring rolls. The fried rice is pretty bland and the tofu was terrible in comparison to other places. The spring rolls were fine and probably come frozen from somewhere else. The sesame chicken and veggies were ok, but again it's super cheap so do not go in expecting gourmet. Think typical mall food court but slightly less flavorful. Portions were actually a good size for the price. I'm not a fan of the sarcastic rebuttals left on previous reviews. Take the criticism to improve not get defensive.

Yummy Americanized Chinese food $1.10 a scoop! Perfect! Just wish they had a little more parking:)

Would be hard to beat for the cost. Super fast & friendly as well. Great for a quick bite on a budget.

I've been here twice with my college friends. The food is cheap, warm, good portions, and good to eat in or run with. It's a cool place! I like the decor and the ambiance. Everyone just grabs a bite and does their own thing, with or without a group. I'm quite glad we have this place downtown and by campus!

As a student at UK I always wished there was a Chinese Restaurant besides Panda that was close to campuus and finally last Summer Red Bang Bang opened up. It's definitely not the highest quality Chinese food in Lexington, but for the price it can't be beat. You just pay $1.00/scoop and you can get as many or as few scoops as you want. They have lo mein, fried rice, and steamed rice. Then there is a variety of chicken, beef, etc. My favorites are the Bang Bang Chicken and General Tsao's chicken. The staff is really nice and they're open for late night on Thursdays and the weekends.

Cheap, late night junk food option for the nights I leave work late and don't want to spend a fortune. Food is what you would expect from the Asian places that you can find at food courts. $1 scoop makes it a good deal!

When I heard from a friend that a Chinese restaurant was serving $1.00 scoops, I got very excited! I soon went with my husband and another couple. The logo looks so well designed and sleek, so I expected the interior design to be as well. We walked in, and I very was disappointed. The furniture was typical diner stuff, not sleek and modern. It looked so dark and dingy in the room, too. My husband and I ordered a scoop of friend rice, lo mein, generally tso, bang bang chicken, and spicy tofu. With a drink, it came out around $8 something. That wouldn't be too bad if the scoops weren't so small! I swear the employee barely filled the scooper up when serving our food. Our plate looked so empty even with 5 scoops. Normally my husband and I split Chinese food, and it's the perfect amount. This time, we felt like we could've gone back for multiple scoops. As for the food, it was very eh. Typical Chinese. The lo mein was really flavorful, though. I liked it a lot. One thing that made me grumpy was that the soda fountain was out of syrup for a lot of the drinks, but no one wanted to do anything about it. I want to like this place so much. I hope the Fayette Mall location that's opening soon won't be as bad. I definitely plan to try it again once the new location opens.

My go to place when I want Chinese food. Let me just say it's like the McDonalds of Chinese food but the quality of food is way better. Every scoop only cost you a dollar. It allows you to create as much or as little as you want and you don't have to deal with left overs.

My friend and I went at luncg time. I had the chicken and brocoli, ( the brocoli was steamed to perfection and the chicken was nice and tender ) chicken on a stick and fried rice. She had the sweet and sour chicken with fried rice , we voth had drinks for 8.10. Talk about a bang for your buck! (No pun intended ) lol. Despite others reviews I didn't find their food to be swimming in oil or greasy. We'll definitely be back again!

Affordable oil! Everything was floating in oil. The noodles, the rice, even the broccoli chicken was a puddle of oil. Not for the health conscious, but definitely appeals to the budget conscious. Speedy service, bright decor, simple concept... Terrible, loud music. I wouldn't likely visit here twice.

This place is much needed on this side of the UK campus. It's really the only Chinese restaurant in the immediate area (Panda Express in the student center doesn't count because of their meal-time only hours). The late hours, the good food, the extremely reasonable pricing and the modern interior design are the perfect combination for this (future) staple of Limestone. Let's talk about the food. It's fairly standard Chinese take-out fare. Nothing fancy here, but it is both tasty and comforting, as you would expect Chinese take out to be. The General Tso's chicken and the sesame chicken were both good. The fried rice was good too. Each scoop is $1. That's why this place gets five stars, in my book. You can eat a meal for just $4! What a deal... One last thing... This is not only a take out joint--it quite big on the inside. They make efficient use of the interior space. It is pretty snazzy. It's simple and stylish (it's got this classy red motif), and there is plenty of seating. Come to think of it... it might just be the best designed interior of all the eateries in that section of Limestone. This place is so close to UK. It's great for lunch or a late night craving, but best of all, it won't break the bank. Five stars (great bang (bang) for your buck).

Good food, (typical comforting Chinese take-out, exactly what we all crave from time to time) Good price, Great friendly service! I love the convenience, too. No doubt this place has a successful future ahead of it! I know it's a new favorite of mine!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
