Good pizza :) Because they have bunch of different pies ready at any given in time, you can quickly get a slice! The slices are big and they cost somewhere around $3. I also liked their pasta salad (sold in the fridge). Fyi: nowhere to sit (at least during winter) and no bathrooms. We had to go to some neighbour bars to use the bathroom. They accept credit card, which is good.

Excellent choice for pizza, especially if New York style is your thing. Definitely take caution when ordering their extra large... you will need to have AT LEAST 4 guys on hand to eat the whole thing. That is, unless you want to keep eating it for the next week. Delivery service was prompt, although the pizza box didn't fit through the door without being turned slightly. Pizza itself was delicious!

Having just moved from New York to Lexington, I didn't have much hope that I would find a good, New York pizza in Kentucky. Boy, was I wrong! Goodfellas pizza is as close as it comes, and be prepared, if you order a large pie, you will get one that is 2 feet in diameter. No joke! Excellent.

SLICES BIGGER THAN MY FACE! They are so worth the price and so tasty. They are also open late, which makes for a great late night snack. I'll definitely be back again.

Pizza bigger than your head! A whole extra large will not fit in your refrigerator. One or two slices will take care of you. Great tasting and always great quality. My favorite pizza within a hundred miles! Highly recommend.

Pizza was good and it was a huge slice, but I had better pizza so had to give it 4 stars. Wish i can pinpoint what made the other pizza better but i cant. It was cool seeing them out they make the dough up front though. Props for opening late night too!

I never imagined I would find great pizza in Kentucky, but after having a slice of their pepperoni, I was wrong. Absolutely amazing. The only bad part was having to eat outside in the heat/humidity. So good!

New York New York is all you can say. As a Yankee transplant this is about as close as you can get with out walking done Broadway or canal street. However it's pizza in a college town and you assume all pizza to be the same. Browsing the menu and I noticed some very non traditional pizza choices. I think I will pause this review until I try those. Back for round two. Branched out and tried a few more pizza on the menu. One of things I realized is that you can get a pizza anywhere but Goodfellas uses premium ingredients. Even the semolina flour and the fresh mozzarella cheese are all top quality ingredients. I was thinking that I would love to sit in Goodfellas and enjoy a big 24 inch pie with the Family. However my tours through Manhattan always have me eating pizza outside. So why would I want to see it in there any pizza. Lexingtonis a beautiful city. Why not enjoy the view with arguably the best pizza in the town

Pizza has gone down hill the last two times I have had it . The pizza has either been cold or like warm at best I assume because it sits under a heat lamp too long and gets old. The second and last time I ordered there were only 2 slices on the display available which looked like they had been there quite a while so the cashier/cook told me they were making a fresh pizza Which came out 20 minutes later with a hole in the middle of the slice. Pizza was still good , but the options available are always a little strange and nothing traditional such as Pepperoni always so you find yourself paying for the additional toppings by slice. I guess that's a good thing if you like Pepperoni, bacon and Banana peppers always or Pepperoni, bacon and Chicken they seem to be very common at around $4.50 a slice

I've never had authentic New York pizza (it's on the to do list!) so I can't vouch for Goodfellas' New York authenticity. My job ordered us Goodfellas pizza for lunch one day and that was my first taste of it. The pizza was ENORMOUS. Seeing someone try to fit the box in our work fridge was comical. I tried a piece of what I guess would call their "everything" pizza. It was definitely foldable (which I've heard is New York pizza-esque). However, I wasn't totally blown away by it. It was good, but nothing I would go out of my way to get. The toppings were also huge, and generous. But I can't say it was much better than an everything pizza from Papa Johns.

This is my go to pizza place in Lexington. It has just the right amount of sauce (not too much) and the crust is great! The large is a great deal if you need to feed several people or you want pizza for the next breakfast, lunch, and dinner - IT'S HUGE. Like, I can barely fit it in my small car. If you call in the order and get the number from google make sure you're calling the right location. Several times I've called the one in Two Key's when google said it was the location on Mill St.

A little hole-in-the-wall pizza joint with a New York theme. The good thing is that service is decent, prices are fair (a $6 lunch of a drink, a huge slice of pizza, and a breadstick and sauce), and they really do try to make it seem like a New York joint (and on Mill Street, with the bars and alleys and such it almost kinda feels like New York right in that part of Lexington). The downside is the pizza itself is of marginal quality. It'll fill you up, of that I have no doubt, but the quality is underwhelming. Also, because of the tiny space there is really no room to dine in (aside from two small two-person tables on the street. If you're eating there, it's take out (although, I strongly suspect most people taking out food from there are going back to their offices).

Yes, I have already reviewed this amazing place once but I just had to add my most recent experience with Goodfellas... my boyfriends birthday dinner request was pizza, he was OK with settling for local (we live in Danville) but since birthdays only come around once a year I wanted to get his favorite pizza - Goodfellas! So I call and place my order (2 large cheese pizzas) for pick up and explain to the staff that I live in Danville and it's for a party later that night, they were very helpful and even offered the suggestion to only mostly cook the pizzas then I could "finish" them at home. When picking them up they were more than accomodating, giving me cooking tips, offering to help take them to my car, etc! Oh yeah and not to mention the Pizzas were AHHHHMAZING!!!!! Just one word of advice- the large 22 inch pizza are probably not going to fit in most home ovens, lol, blonde moment on my part, it never crossed my mind! Overall - I have said it before and saying it again, this place, pizza, and staff are AWESOME!!!!! If you haven't went YOU NEED TO!!!!!!

My roommate still likes this place and late last night I had no other choice as he was bringing a condolence pizza to Derek because the Packers lost in the playoffs at midnight and my options were Goodfellas or nothing. I should have gone with nothing. I tried the calzone, and it was ok, sort of flat and plain and somehow still pretty greasy, but I ate about 1/3 of it and enjoyed not having to go without dinner. About 2 hours later, and every 2 hours or so for the balance of the night, I did not enjoy the results. I've usually got a pretty iron stomach but yeah, something was not right. So I'll update my review from "won't willingly go back" to "will refuse when offered for free". Sigh.

My friend and I stopped by for the lunch special. To say the breadsticks are huge is a understatement! For 6.35 you can't best it! I shoild have had the canolli though. Juniors cheesecake from Brooklyn would be a welcomed addition. Just saying!

This is the best pizza in Lexington. If you like pizza and you haven't been to Goodfellas, then I don't know what you're doing with your life. You're making some bad decisions. Think about it over a slice.

This place is located in the downtown part of. Lexington. I went here right during lunch time on a weekday and was able to find street parking right out front. There is no seating inside, only a few tables outside. There was a line of about ten people when I got there. The lunch special seems to be popular (slice, side and drink). Given the size of the slice, I opted to just get a slice. Short of just ordering a slice of cheese, there were no vegetarian options. I ended up getting a slice with ground sausage, onions and green peppers. Given the amount of toppings on the slice and it's size, it was surprisingly easy to hold. The crust was light and had a subtle sweetness that I couldn't put my finger on, but it was good. The ground meat made the slice a little too salty for me, but the peppers and onions provided a nice contrast with the crispness and freshness. I gave this place four stars because the service is fast and very pleasant and the prices were good.

I'm always a fan of Goodfellas. It is the best food to eat when walking around downtown. They get really busy and there is sometimes a crowd but the food is awesome!

Really tasty pizza with gigantic portions! I want to try their Tuesday buffet but I don't think my stomach could hold all the pizza i would want to consume!

Stopped by while in town for Fest of Ales beer festival on 8/29/14. Spotted this place while looking for a parking spot and since it was a block away from the festival and after reading the numerous positive Yelp reviews we decided to give it a shot. Tiny place with no seating inside, although they do have a corner nook with a counter you could stand at and eat. Had 3 or 4 tables outside in which you could eat. Guy who took our order was friendly and easy going. Huge pizzas in an array of choices. Looks like pizza by the slice is what they generally do here. Pizza is New York style which is thin in nature, but large overall. Almost too big, (as if there is such a thing as too big in regards to pizza). Good luck trying to squeeze a full sized one of these in your fridge! Individual slices are huge. Probably damn near a foot long and 6" wide, (I'm estimating here, don't hold me to this). Had 2 slices (1 cheese and 1 pepperoni) and was stuffed. And I am a big guy! Very greasy, (as are all NY style pizza), but loaded with taste. Slices were cheap too, ($2.50 I think, again I'm estimating). Reminds me a lot of Spinelli's Pizza in Louisville. Drinks were served in a large plastic cup with the logo suitable for keeping, (I did), rather than some cheap throw-away paper cup. And I just checked their website and one is opening in Louisville soon! Great news for pizza lovers like myself. My only wish was that they had a better beer list. Would've been nice to enjoy a good craft beer with the pizza. But seeing as how I was headed to a craft beer fest a block away, you know, would have pretty much been overkill for me that day. Anyway, great pizza, great price, go there!

I love me some Goodfellas, enough to even own the shirt to support the guys. The pizza is a Lexington staple, and is TRULY one of a kind in central Kentucky. It's not a pizza I would recommend enjoying after a night left out on the kitchen counter, but it's amazing freshly made. I used to enjoy going downtown and watching them make the pies, they hand toss the massive sheets of dough (into the air of course) and it feels way more authentic than watching the machines over at the dial it fast places. I do, however, wish they would deliver OUTSIDE of New Circle, as i'm in the Buckhorn neighborhood and they don't even come close. They would make a KILLING if they expanded the delivery to all of lexington. Other than that you have some Grade-A New York style pizza worthy of trying, and take your friends, they'll love you for it!

Best pizza in town hands down! Huge NY slices and a small, pop in and out, style just like in the city. Gotta love the "mobster" vibe as well. Always makes me miss NYC :)

OK, Let's get this straight there are two (2) locations in Lexington, although Yelp only lists one. This one is deep downtown, on Mill Street. The other is located on (or off) Limestone St. near Maxwell, and located inside the back of Two Keys Tavern. This one is the best of the two. For some reason, the pies just taste better; I don't know why - they just do. Yeah, there's no place to sit inside. If the weather is good, there are tables outside - which adds to the event. I love to sit eating a slice, and watch people zooming by in their cars. If they only knew.... Oh, and the pies taste great. The prices are good - great if you consider how much food you're getting. Ok, now the one located in the back of Two Keys - Again the food tastes great. The prices are the same (I think.) I access Goodfellas by going around back. That entrance is open sometimes after the Two keys is closed, and besides, I'm going for the pizza, not the stuff out front. I think you can order from a table out front - I did it a couple of times about 20 years ago. There are tables outside on the deck, too. Oh, and you can take kids there, they just can't order alcoholic drinks. It's well worth going to either or both locations. And, a slice is a meal - BIGGER THAN MY FACE, TOO!

This is one thing I liked about central Kentucky: Goodfellas. Some of the best pizza I've ever had. It really is good, but the reason I place it among the best is because it is also such a bargain. I think when I started going three years ago, one slice was like $2.50. Now it's around $3, but hey, maybe their rent went up. Tons of pepperoni, lines out the door at 1am, and very little room to eat inside. Very, very little room. That means you have to eat your pizza quickly, on the go, or on the sidewalk. At least this has always been my experience, but it's also part of the charm. It's a great place to go after spending an evening at some place like Cheapside around the corner.

    (5)
  • Nathan W.

The pizza's large and in charge. As in it cost's 3 bucks a slice so they'll charge you a lot for a whole pie! It's really great but the pizza I had wasn't very hot and got cold pretty quick. And the crust isn't much to write home about. But it is a great location, and its pizza slices are probably bigger than your face.. if you have a normal sized face.

  • Josh M.

Late or not Lex top place for a slice!

    (4)
  • Chad C.

This is a great pizza place. Sold by the slice which takes 2 paper plates to hold or a full pie which don't fit out the door. Its location is nestled right among a lot of bars so it is perfect for the night time drunkin munchies. LOVE IT

Goodfellas is a fantastic little pizza joint tucked away in downtown Lexington. The restaurant is a very small, nondescript eatery that has become popular as a lunch establishment amongst the nearby office workers as well as a quick snack for the weekend bar patrons. The slices are large and tasty, served thin and there are usually several different pies with various toppings to choose your slice from. The omnipresent staple of cheese and pepperoni is very well done here and seems to be a popular choice. Goodfellas offers a combo that pairs a slice with a single breadstick. This is a good value as the breadstick is huge and when combined with one of their slices and your choice of soft drink, you will surely be full and satisfied. A word of advice, however, the seating here is very limited. In fact, there are no booths nor tables with chairs inside the restaurant. Seating is provided as a couple of stools that pull up to a small ledge at the front of the building, enough to seat yourself and a friend, if you are lucky. There are a couple of tables on the sidewalk, immediately to the front of the restaurant which is nice during spring and summer. If several people are in your party, a good idea would be to opt for carryout.

    (4)
  • Sez R.

You can try a variety of their pizza as they sell sliced (for a few bucks). There are only two stools to sit and no bathroom. This place is meant to be a take-out.

  • Joy G.

Best pizza in town hands down!!!

    (5)
  • Megan M.

I think this is the best pizza in its area. I however get disappointed when I seem to pick the cold pizza slices. I think I should ask for the freshest slices. I always go on my lunch break and because of its cost, its a frequent go-to place for me. I always pick it over LA Gourmet. I really like how friendly the guys are who work there and I always get a comedic relief when I see the picture of Ice -T on the ice on the fountain machine and the tea. It is however a lot of food and I never finish mine so I have a nice little afternoon snack on it.

I have tried this place several times and other than the size of the pizza, I am not impressed. They use a cornmeal on the bottom of the pizza and is always burnt. Leaves a terrible taste in your mouth.

  • Lee P.

Great NY style pizza, one of the best pizzas in Lexington. Range of toppings. Pizzas are 24 inch and you can order a whole pie or a slice. The calzones are great, and the bread sticks are enormous. Highly recommend.

Yesterday, I had to go to a training day for a Brand Ambassador program. Lunch was on our agency and so "the team" decided to splurge on some food. Since I had all ready had thoughts of backing out of the agency, due to some legality issues, I decided to spend the least. The entree I ordered was just a simple sub sandwich, (a.k.a. Dean Martin). This thing had taken like 20 minutes to make I swear! I mean I guess that is what you get if you expect your sub to be pipping hot; however, I have always been use to Quizno's subs and it does not take that long! The sandwich was definitely good though, but pretty small in portion for $5.95. The price for it I thought was a bit pricey as well, but I guess I give these guys a benefit of the doubt since they specialize in selling pizzas, not subs.

    (3)
  • Kristen S.

Eh okay pizza, a bit greasy. However, I did not enjoy the crust, sort of cardboard tasting. Not cheap, yet not too pricey for a whole pie. Single slices are huge and $3. The best thing about it, is the late hours!

    (3)
  • Camille G.

Good, greasy pizza from a cute little place downtown. Much better right at the beginning of the lunch rush (say, 11:30-12) because the pizza is fresh and hot. Go much later than that and they will serve you cold, old pizza with impunity. Friday and Saturday nights late are also an okay time to go since the bar crowd keeps them busy enough to have good hot pizza - although it might be a little rowdy and crowded in and around the place. Better to take cash because they still have one of those old dialing credit machines - and they don't seem to appreciate it, especially when it's busy. Lastly, you can tell from the look of the place, but don't be surprised to see them take a fiver and some change, put it in the register, and then plunge both hands into a tub of shredded mozzarella without washing them.

  • Todd K.

Nice place. Loved the pizza. Large slices of pepperoni. Sliced italian sausage. Hard to find parking, even for carryout and the only place to eat is outside, but it's worth the hassel.

    (4)
  • Scott F.

We picked some pizza up and brought it back to our hotel room at the Hyatt Regency. This is some great NY style pizza! The pepperoni and sausage rounds were fantastic. If up to my wife, would be 5 stars, however, I'm not a big doughy crust fan. Still, everything in front of the crust was tastey!

    (4)
  • Jon M.

Great hole in the wall type place. If it weren't for the Italian flag flying out front, you'd never know this place existed. Or, as the newly developed southerner in me might say, if it were a snake, it'd bite ya. Very good, simplified menu. In a city starved for good, independent, mom-and-pop restaurants, Goodfella's is top notch. Love this place. When I eventually leave Lexington, I know this will be a place close to my heart...mostly because parts of their menu will literally be in it.

  • Ivan R.

    Great late night meal!

    (4)
  • Kris C.

A lunchtime favorite, one of the best values is the lunch special. The pizza is New York style and the slices are huge. There are some great combos - spinach & tomato, bbq chicken, sausage & banana pepper that you can get. If you don't want a loaf of bread with your pizza (the monstrously huge breadstick) they do offer pasta salad as an alternate. More seating would be a plus, but it would lose some of its' walkup charm. It is fun to watch the guys rolling out and topping the pizzas right in front of you.

    (4)
  • B D.

Great pizza! Can purchase by the slice (slices are huge). They keep a bunch of varieties ready to go for by-the-slice-purchases. And every kind we've tried so far has been delicious.

Best late night pizza by the slice bar none! Stand in line and mind your own business. The guy working the counter will not hesitate to kick you out of line. Lots of cool slices but I always stick w the pepperoni. Go before 2 to not wait in line as long. BTW My brother saw coach Cal here one afternoon.

  • Christian C.

Ridiculously good pizza. I've never actually ordered a whole pie, bur it's absolutely worth it to just stop by for a slice of whatever they've just taken out of the oven. The huge slices come from even pizzas, I can't think of a lot of places that actually make a 22"(!!) pie. The location is perfect, right smack in the middle of the downtown Lexington bar hop. It's open until the bitter end of the night, too. This is a great spot to stop at to sober up a little or to go to with your friends if you aren't 21 yet and you're still itching to wander the streets of Lexington in the wee hours of the morning. If you're ever walking around near Cheapside you're bound to run into the owner, who will casually remark to you that there's some really good pizza around the corner. He has every right to do this. Goodfellas is THAT good.

Went up to Two Keys bar where you can sit with friends and have cold beers with your pizza. It was cooked perfectly and just as tasty as the slice we got at the Thursday Night Live fest!

Tasty thin and flexible pizza, good sized slices, with a wide variety of toppings. The guy who sold me my slices gave me a discount because the slices had been out for a couple of hours, and also have me good advice on other nearby places to eat.

  • Erik W.

I have to preface my review saying this: I have never been in Goodfellas earlier than 11pm and without having had at least one or two (or five) drinks. That being said, the pizza is delicious and the selection is great. It really is a little slice (pardon the pun) of New York in downtown Lexington. I usually look for the most interesting looking topping combo, so there's always something new to try. Be ready for a long, drunken wait on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

    (5)
  • Cameron M.

Some of the best tasting pizza by the slice in lexington. There is plenty of choices and variety and they give you huge slices, but it is expensive... The bread sticks are the only other thing they offer besides pizza, and they are only mediocre. If it were not for the high price i'd give it 5.

    (4)
  • Brad F.

Good god, I love this place. Conveniently situated in the cheapside bar district downtown, this New York style pizza place is serving you gigantic slices of the finest pizza in town. Open late, Goodfella's serves young and old, drunk and sober late into the night. The friendly owner can also be found belly-up to the bar around the corner at the Bluegrass Tavern most nights.

Amazing pizza! Great crust, and flavorful cheese and toppings! Just be ready to stand in line on Friday and Saturday nights.

Although Lexington has fallen a little short on Italians goodfellas pizza is by far the best pizza in town. Coming from the north east I always miss a good new york style pizza and goodfellas is the closest you can get in Lexington.

    (4)
  • Whitney P.

Good fellas is good pizza it is as close as we will get to NYC pizza. We all know that the new York water is what makes the pizza crust and bagels extrodinary so unless they ship the new York water in , like manhatten bagels did years ago the Lexington crust will still be lacking.

  • Esteban M.

Hi there. I'm the roommate of Kristina P. down there. As you can see, we have completely opposite views of the same restaurant. There are ample amounts of good pizza restaurants in Lexington, since it is a college town, and when students are flush with their college loans, they go ahead and actually spend it on things other then ramen (until the funds run out mid-semester, of course). For example, Mellow Mushroom, despite being a chain, has a tasty wheat crust that's, well, crusty and moreover I haven't encountered anywhere else. Joe Bologna's is a fantastic and charming restaurant as well, with a delicious "standard" hand-tossed crust pizza. There's Puccini's Smiling Teeth, which covers the "art" pizza territory by having a wide and varied selection of high-quality toppings and combinations to order (as well as a tasty calzone). But there's no New York style pizza at any of these places. Now, I know I'm opening up a can of worms here just mentioning the words "New York style" pizza. This can devolve into a fight about what borough in NYC makes what certain kind of pizza, what qualities it should have, etc. And this coming from a Florida native, I'm quickly on my way to becoming a persona non grata around these here Yelps. But still, for the sake of semantics, a New York style (or NYC style) pizza to your reviewer is flat. Flat as hell until the crust, which somehow rose into a crunchy-on-the-outside, chewy-on-the-inside, satisfying piece of baked dough. The cheese is spread liberal and thick, like Michael Moore, and unapologetically full fat (also like Michael Moore). Which means that there should be some grease, because fat will melt down into this from being cooked. Dairy fat is tasty fat, kids, and paper towels will always work to help siphon the excess off. Finally, the sauce should be a good combination of tangy and sweet, more towards the former than the latter, but never dominating the taste of the entire pie or being more than a thin layer underneath that gooey layer of cheese. Oh, and the individual pies have to be 18" or larger for the large; the pizza dough is so flat for more surface area, and to keep the bottom from becoming a soggy mess if cooked right (I exclude "garbage pail" everything pizzas from this criteria, because that many "wet" toppings make it impossible to keep the pizza from becoming a flimsy, damp platform for your embarrassment of meats and veggies). Goodfella's is the sole, genuine provider of such a thing in Lexington. I'm talking about pizza slices that are the size of your head, big enough to make you wonder why anyone would go to Pizza Hut or Domino's for a medium pizza when for half of the cost they can have that big, cheesy, greasy slab slapped down on a paper plate. Yes, New York style pizza is greasy as mentioned above, and not anywhere near a health food. Yes, it's comically over sized, surpassing my expectation of an 18" pie that I had grown accustomed to seeing in Florida and one-upping them all with a whole 22". The box it comes in is unwieldy, making compact cars fold down their passenger seat to make a throne for the delivery of the pie. The slices are unwieldy, mocking you as you try finding any china that was made to handle the beast that you have invited into your home. Folding the slice is not a suggestion, but required unless you want to be slapped with hot cheese, or wuss out and use utensils. But that's the point of all these quirks: this is something that is one-of-a-kind in Lexington. The closest thing I can even think of to it, in my short stint in Kentucky, is of Spinelli's Pizzaria in Louisville. The breadsticks are like Joey B.'s; a footlong thing of dough and tasty, encrusted parmesan (sadly lacking Joey B.'s butter-oil-tasty-yellow-liquid-topping though). Pepperoni slices match the dimensions of the pizza, and taste like pepperoni, not like red-dyed adulterated meat product. It hit all the right spots, from stretchy, rich, gooey cheese to a well-spread sauce to the fact that you just can't stop eating it even though you've consumed enough to meet your daily recommend caloric value five times over. Best of all, it reminded me of my favorite NY-style dives back at home in Tampa, like Best NY Pizza. Yes, it probably would be better as bar food (and thus, when consumed while inebriated) given the nature of the pie itself, and the fact that Spinelli's and Casola's in Miami (they were from Boston, but trust me, that's New York style) also catered to the same crowd of late-night last-call rejects, looking for a ride back home. And yes, there's certainly more than one way to make a GOOD pizza (heresy of heresies, I know). If you like New York style pizza, or pizza in the manner I have described, you'll simply love Goodfella's. It's as simple as that. (Apologies to Goodfella's for mentioning almost every other pizza place in the world before theirs.)

ATTENTION!! BEST PIZZA YOU'LL EVER TASTE!! Especially at 2:30am after leaving the bars. The slices are enormous and cheap. Seriously, I've had NY Style IN New York City and it wasn't this good! Warning tho, if you go after the bars let out, there WILL be a long line.

Definitely my favorite pizza in Lexington. Goodfellas is open late and is frequented by downtown bar patrons, especially on the weekends. The staff is always churning out pizzas for instant by-the-slice purchases with little to no waiting. Prices are probably a little more expensive than your call-in delivery pizza but the end product is far superior. If you do plan to stop by at last call, be prepared to wait. It's often better to leave the bar a little earlier and snag a slice before the bar closing rush backs the line up out into the road. Google Street View: tinyurl.com/d9jkwf

Pizza is SO GOOD. New York style slices, super greasy. Open late, expect long lines on the weekend. Standing room only for dining (and not much space for that)!

Best pizza in town! Slices are huge! Service is great! Nice selection and it's open late so after night out you can have a great, delicious slice of pizza.

Best pizza in Lexington for the price. The lunch specials are amazing.

This is one of the best pizza places in town there is really only one other place I go besides Goodfellas. The pizza is great but the giant bread sticks are amazing. This place is open late really late and that's it's one down fall is it's hour are not great during the week or the day time. When the bar's close the lines get really long. But if your looking for a good slice in Lexington this is the best option.

Quite possible the best pizza I've ever had. Not only are they excellent, the pies are absolutely massive and, at just a few dollars a slice, quite affordable. Its location is very, very convenient and within walking distance (a few blocks) of a number of bars popular with the college crowd. If you're looking for excellent pizza in a location that's great for meeting new people, then Goodfellas is for you.

This place is great. I love going in there and talking with the guys and hanging out waiting for the pizza. And the pizza is incredible. Best pizza in Lexington. The big New York style slices are always available and always in the classic topping variety or there is usually something new that you've not tried before. I've been here a couple times after hitting the bars and faced the long lines, but I've also been in here on a lunch and in the early evening. The pizza is always just as good. Their lunch special is great for the money. For $5 you get a big slice of pizza, a breadstick the size of a baby's arm, a dipping sauce, and something to drink. You can't beat it.

this place is really pretty sweet. i have had late night drunk pizza in chicago, vegas, la, san diego, all over the place, this remains my favorite by far. my and my buds have purchased it by the slice, by the pie, and by stealing and running from the drunkest guy there. (last one was not true) But it is great, greasy, people are friendly, and in the summertime, great place to bring that girl you just met to, so you can talk about where to eat breakfast in the morning.

I honstly can't say enough good thngs about Goodfellas Pizza!! I've eaten here several times and I need to visit more!! On this visit around 8:30 pm I had a simple slice of cheese. It was exra cheesy and the sauce was slightly sweet and absoutely perfect! As others have said, a slice is llike two slices in one. When this pizza is fresh, it is actually better than many of the slices I've tried in NYC. I only wish there were more locations away from the downtown area. If I lived closer, I would eat there weekly!!!!

Miss New York style pizza in Lexington! And the breadsticks are amazing as well as the cheese dipping sauce

Hello!! Amazing pizza in Lexington. Open til 3:30 AM? Even better. This is probably 1 of the best pizzas I've ever had and it reminds you of New York. They have the Godfather like lettering and dark, 12 oz. plastic cups that you can take with you when you order a beverage. New York like - as there is 4-5 standing stalls inside, they make pizza right in front and in the window so you can stand there in amazement, snap photos, and know that your pizza is made fresh right there. Big slices - that you would normally pay $3-4/per slice. Had the pepperoni and it was good. Friends wanted something healthier so we had a plain cheese. I've never been a fan of just plain cheese pizza but this place does something different because it was good! Parking can be a problem since it is nestled in downtown area. But have no fear - $2 for 1 hr parking or $4 parking for all night is just around the corner. Remember: Largest pizza is 22" and can serve 4-6 depending on how big your appetite is. Note: Restroom - go across the street to the bar. 4 tables that seat 3-4 each were the only seating provided.... on the sidewalk. At times, we were bothered by people smoking and car exhaust.

Used to be okay, but they often burn the pizza, and on at least one occasion they "ran out of dough" early in the day and were unable to make more pizzas even as early as 7:00 p.m. They have now cut their delivery radius down to the point that they may as well not even offer delivery; my apartment is less than three and a half miles away from their Two Keys Tavern location (which is the only one offering delivery) and they refuse to deliver to me as their cut-off is at Zandale. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

How to Make Sure some of the Best Pizza in Lexington is in the General Vicinity of Your Mouth: 1) Collect approximately $8 2) Walk into Goodfellas Pizzeria. 3) Order a slice or two of The Don with a huge breadstick and sauce for a hot, fresh carb infused-dipping delight. Now, if you didn't order The Don with a huge breadstick and sauce for a hot, fresh carb infused-dipping delight, you done screwed up. Start over. Seriously, I'm trying to help you have one of the most pleasurable experiences of your adult life. Let me help you.

Fold the slice, let a little bit of the oil drip off, and take a bite--it's great, NY-style pizza. I know this because I lived in NYC for more than half-a-century and ate pizza the whole time. I tried two slices. Pepperoni, and Cheddar-Bacon-Beef, and enjoyed both. (For me, pepperoni is the quintessential topping for pizza.) The crust was just slightly thicker than I expected but it had great flavor and the outer edge was crispy. The sauce was just right, and the mozzarella on the pepperoni was good, too. (No opinion on the other slice because of the cheddar.) There isn't indoor seating, just a small counter where 2-3 people can eat standing, and a few tables outside with the requisite red/white checkered tablecloth. Parking is street only. I was lucky and pulled into a space in-front of the store, but that's unusual, and you might spend time finding parking. The pros are great pizza, and if you have the time and inclination, you can sit outside and feed the sparrows (they like pizza crust.) The cons are you might have to search for parking if you aren't in walking distance, and you will probably take your pie to-go, so it will be cold when you get to eat it.

    I. Flipping. Love. This. Pizza. Everything about it is fantastic. It tastes like pizza should taste to me. I almost gave this location four stars just by virtue of the fact that there's little seating, it's busy, and the counter staff was not ENTIRELY friendly (which, I mean. We're Kentuckians, friendly is kind of our THING). However, I decided that the pizza was just too good; plus, if you're in that part of town on a busy evening, you're probably prepared for crowds and a wait and blah blah blah. I also see that my friend Tim M. liked it. He's good people so, probably you should go. ;)

They have the biggest pizza I have ever seen. The box is as big as the hood on my Jeep. As far as pizza goes it's pizza. You can by it by the slice or of course by the whole pie. Service is hard to get inside of Two Keys Tavern and the college crowd doesn't care to jump right in front of you while you wait to order. Most are drunk and just looking for substance this the caliber of employee seems to match the audience. The other location closes fairly early and this one is open later due to the bar. Eating here for me is a novelty rather than a destination due to the size of the pizza only. Everything else is lacking IMO.

Don't be confused, these slices are enormous. 2 slices tops, 3 maybe (but only if it's after 2am and you've been out all night). Kids would love the pizza but dine in can be tough, there is barely anywhere to stand. There are tables outside but only on nice days. I would get pickup or delivery unless I was out and about downtown and needed a quick bite on the go.

Small joint with big food! The marinara left something to be desired, but all-in-all I was pleased! The portions are enormous, so bring your appetite! I don't recommend the garlic dipping sauce as it was light on flavor, but there's plenty else to choose from.

Best pizza in Lexington, hands down! We drive from Georgetown to have this pizza because it's so good. We've been enjoying this pizza joint for years. Keep up the good work guys, and we'll keep coming back for more.

Greasy, fast, huge slices of pizza, perfect for a Friday night after hanging out at bars. On a sober patron level however, there was no Italian inspiration here, despite the joint's name, which draws reference to a phenomenal movie with great Italian cooking in it.

Has late hours. 2 locations. 1 of which does delivery so that's handy. It can get pretty busy when the bars start closing so if you are planning on going there try and get there before then. The pizzas are also massive if you get a whole one. Generally 2 slices is all I require.

By far the best pizza in this town. I'm guessing it's the best in the state! Just try it! I bet you'll agree!!

Perfect for a late night slice. Stopped here after drinking a number of rounds and it was perfect. Large slices and some slices were not your typical cheese or pepperoni. We'd recommend and would go back again!

I have had The Don and what appears to be a supreme-style pie (forget name) and those have been great. I have never had a bad customer service experience or sub-par pizza. Not to be insulting, but given its population size and location, Lexington is not a city I would expect to have good pizza. However, I would recommend Goodfellas above all other pizzerias in Lexington - go check it out!

Best pizza in Kentucky - hands down. If I lived closer, I would weigh 500lbs. Always have great choices as well. Very affordable. Staff handles the crowds well too. It's a must stop every time I'm in the area.

Usually like Goodfellas, but had a terrible experience this time around. I will say, it was before a Garth Brooks concert, and they were slammed- but the guy who rang us up (had a headband on) was unnecessarily rude to us. Was no nicer to anyone else from what we saw. Seemed annoyed to be there. Don't go there on a busy night unless you expect to be treated like you are an inconvenience.

I used to live in NYC, so it's hard to come by good pizza in Kentucky. But this has to be on of my top three pizzas so far!!

Literally just tried to come here to eat at 8:48pm and they were already closed and the dudes were just hanging out inside. Door said open till 10pm, Yelp says open till midnight. I wouldn't bother making a special trip here if I were you, save yourself the time and headache of finding parking - eat elsewhere. YMMV
