Went here to celebrate a birthday on New Year's Eve. Despite not being open for the evening party (they closed around 10pm), the place was excessively busy. Our food was reasonable, but as someone who grew up a little closer to the ocean, the fish is far from being fresh. The Bang Bang Shrimp used to be great -- but they seem to have let the fame go to their heads... now it's a handful of breaded shrimp with some sort of sauce (not as perfected as the old Bang-Bang sauce) thrown on top of some old lettuce strewn about the plate. For what you get, the prices are a little on the high side -- the service is OK, but the decor is disappointing. The place is popular, so if you really want to go, do make sure you go on their web site and make a reservation. If you try phoning in, they'll likely tell you you won't need one (but you'll sure appreciate having one!)

Lively bar and delicious food. The bartenders are friendly and efficient, but make sure to go early as you will have to squeeze yourself into the restaurant on the weekend (and to find a parking space!) The sea bass was perfectly grilled and the mango salsa perfectly complimented the fish. Sides included cheesy potato gratin and perfectly cooked vegetable medley along with some smooth Kentucky bourbon provided a satisfying meal to start my weekend. Though the prices are not cheap, the food quality, service and ambiance make it money well spent.

We were plesantly surprised, outstanding service. We tried to different appetisers and three different entrees, all were very good

We tried their Sunday brunch and it was so delicious. I had a California style omelet, one daughter had french toast and the other had some pancakes. All of our food was hot and fresh. We split a brownie at the end also. Our waitress was on point and very polite and made conversation with us and gave us her opinion when we asked for it. We sat in the bar area and it was fancy and clean.

I've only eaten here twice. Both times I spent more than my average splurge. Both times I've had fast, excellent service. There was a bit of a wait for an inside table but the patio was open seating and was quite lovely, I'd rather have sat there than inside anyways. Tonight I ordered the shrimp Pad Thai and it was excellent. There must've been a close to a pound of shrimp on it, and it was just as tasty as it is at my favorite Thai restaurant. I ordered a pear martini that was a bit too sweet for my liking, but good. The edible Hawaiian flower that set off the martini was a nice touch, so I won't complain. I seriously just tasted a flower for the first time, that's enough to write home about. My only mere complaints are that the to go cup was tiny and that the to go box was stored at the bottom of the cashier stand near the ground and was dirty when it was offered to me. Not a huge deal, but not something that happens in a five star restaurant... that's why it gets four stars from me.

We had the best evening at Bonefish in Lexington. Our service was excellent. Katie was awesome. Our meal was right on, delicious and the presentation was picture perfect

We used to love this place but after a few years they are slipping with each visit. The portions keep getting smaller & the quality and standard is slowly falling to rock bottom. I love the Bang Bang Shrimp & Sea Bass but they have overcooked my Wood Fired Scallops three times in a row and they keep getting smaller too. Sorry to say that I am now done with Bonefish forever. 3 strikes and you ARE OUT because I work hard for my money.

My favorite restaurant in Lexington! I have gone to bonefish twice and both were spectacular experiences. The first time I got Chilean sea bass and it was perfection. The calamari is an excellent appetizer! This last time I got crusted orange roughy and it was amazing, cooked perfectly. While we waited they had servers come around and allow us to try samples and got you drinks if you wanted, made the wait not feel quite so long. Meals are pricey but worth it, about $75 for two but you leave stuffed and happy!

Went for dinner with my parents and boyfriend June 13/15. Server forgot which wine I ordered, came back and asked. We ordered two appetizers, instead of coconut shrimp we received dumplings. We informed the waitress and she thus far brushed what had happened off. My boyfriend asked for no tomatoes on his salad and when it came there were tomatoes... Again when the waitress came back and saw that there were tomatoes there was no apology, she said something along the lines of "the tomatoes ARE really good, I guess they just wanted you to try them". I worked in the service industry for 10 years in fine dining restaurants, I know what it's like to have a bad night and knowing this, a lot of servers are more lenient on their fellow job holders. I'm not just a picky person being hard on someone. It was some of the most appalling service I have ever had and the food was quite greasy and saturated with dressing and oil.

New decor is cold, tables closer together to pack in more mouths, rib eye too thin to cook rare or med rare, and what's up with paper table cloth....feels like sardines in a crab shack. Used to love the place. I will go to the many other options in Lexington from now on!!

While a franchise of the Bonefish Grill chain, this restaurant in Hamburg Pavilion serves delicious seafood in an upscale atmosphere. Their Bang Bang Shrimp are scrumptious. For being a seafood restaurant, Bonefish's Lily's Chicken is an excellent dish. Drawbacks: Locals pack Bonefish -especially on weekends. There is often a wait, and the food is pricey. Lately, the food has appeared to go downhill with both my last two visits resulting in oversalted food. I was unable to eat my shrimp dish because the shriveled, obviously formerly frozen bits were like eating into a salt shaker.

This isn't your typical chain restaurant. From the lighting, menu, prices and specials it has a higher level of class then what you would expect from an Applebee's, Red Lobster or longhorn Steak house. My wife and I have eaten at this particular location over a dozen times. Seating time is rarely an issue even though they give you a 30-45 minute wait time. The service can be hit or miss depending on whom is taking care of you. They are knowledgable but at times forgetful and careless with your orders during a busy Wed. (Bang bang shrimp specials) or weekend. The food has rarely disappointed. Bang bang shrimp, salads and fish species are choice. If you are looking for a steak, look else where. The cocktail lists are seasonal and offer a different twist to your traditional manhattans and Martinis. For a typical meal for two we spend $50-$60. Hope this helps.

We eat here almost every Friday night, but this was the worst experience we've had at this location. We waited over an hour for our food. One dinner was cold, so they took it back to heat it up...making it overcooked. And the sides were changed with the warming to completely different sides that were not ordered. So one of us ate dinner while the other waited...and then we switched while the other ate and first one waited. A young, obviously inexperienced manager came to the table and explained the new computer system. And they comped one meal, but frankly, should have comped both. The only reason for the one star is because they normally do a very good job. Hopefully, this was an exception and not the new rule.

I eat there at least twice a month. food is very good and consistant. The menu changes seasonally in a good way. Bang Bang anything is great here! house salad is always perfect. creme brule is amazing. Drinks especially rasberry martini and mango side car are amazing. I usally set in bar area and most waiters call me by name its so nice seeing same people serving you and going out of there way to make your experience great. I have never had better service anywere and on a regualr and consistant basis. Thank you for a wonderful experience everytime. I have never over paid for anything that i got here. I think it is very reasonable for what I get.

Awesome food. The menu is fish heavy, hence the name, but still a gem in Lexington. Make sure to grab both the BBQ and fontina pork chops, bang bang shrimp, and Chilean sea bass.

I'm updating my review since the last two visits have just been subpar. The bang bang shrimp is always spot on and delicious. But I ordered the scallops and shrimp a couple months ago and it was all Over cooked. I tried the steak and crab cake this time. The steak was pretty flavorless and something I ate made sick later that night. I'm not sure if they've changed chefs or what but it just doesn't seem to be the quality it use to be.

The Good: the ambiance, some of the food, nice bar scene. The Bad: service, wine selection, paper and plastic tablecloths. The Rundown: I remember this place being so much nicer when it first opened, I don't know what happened. Firstly our server had no real customer service, she just wanted to go through the motions and wasn't very nice about doing so. Next, I don't know why they chose to use paper to cover our tables, this just gives a really cheap feeling, esp when you feel the plastic tablecloth underneath. I looked at their wine selection and there is not one imported wine, they are all from California, which while there are some good ones from there, this menu didn't feature any. The food was ok, I had the wontons which I really liked and the Branzino, which was flavorful. My wife got a shrimp salad which was only so-so and not something worth getting again. The Impression: this place has gone downhill and there weren't really any good redeeming factors to make me want to come back again.

I always enjoy this restaurant but for some reason we only go on special occasions. We had reservations for 1:00 and when we got there they were ready for us. I had the fish and chips and which I always enjoy. My daughter got the shrimp tacos and my husband got the stuffed tilapia. I thought the portion sizes for my husband's meal were small. Overall a pleasant and enjoyable meal.

Dinner was an anniversary celebration and Bonefish didn't let us down. Starters, bang-bang shrimp were scrumptious, Mussels for my partner were well prepared and too much for her to eat. My wild-caught Salmon with spinach topping was exquisite and with drinks quite reasonable.

Had some Lobster Tail, and Sirloin Steak. Also had some roasted marshmallows on Flatbread for starters, and a glass each of Red-Zin. Everything was delicious, our waitress was great and having planned ahead and having a reservation we did not even wait five min after running late 15min.

Overall OK experience. The Bang Bang shrimp was the best thing we ordered. The coconut shrimp was nice - not as crispy as it should have been. The calamari was not good at all, bland and soggy. The lobster bisque was just OK. For the price - I expected better food. The waitstaff was nice and friendly.

Bonefish is my favorite chain restaurant. I am somewhat spoiled by working in a fine dining establishment, and I'm very picky. The food here is really good, tuna sashimi is my favorite, good filet and sauces, nice wine menu and friendly bartender.

Under new management! As a regular here I was sad to see that they changed the coconut shrimp dish which was so popular on Wednesday nights. They used to serve it on a large bed of fresh lettuce which was delicious to eat with the shrimp. When I asked for some lettuce they brought out a small bowl of some very limp lettuce which I did not want to eat. Update: they have now gone back to the original way it was served! Yeah!

  • Justin S.

The food is delicious, but I have a real issue with their seating policy. More than once, I've had a reservation more than a week in advance, and I've never been seated within 45 minutes of my reservation.

  • Adam S.

I have eaten here several times, and the food and service are usually good. I find it to be a little pretentious for a chain restaurant, from the chef-like attire to the menu printing, and prices, which are a little high considering this place is just one step up from Applebee's. I've eaten at many chains, and this is certainly among the best, but also the most expensive. I've also eaten at many real fine dining restaurants, and this comes nowhere close to those. They do, however, have regular coupon deals, and are worth trying if you don't want to break the bank. That said, if you do want to splurge on dinner out, then you'd be better off paying a fraction more for a fine dining restaurant.

I've eaten here on several occasions, and the food is excellent! However, the server could've been more attentive. I had the craving for only appetizers tonight...Wagyu Beef & Ginger Dumplings, Maryland Crab Cakes, and Bang Bang Shrimp, all were cook to perfection! The food made up for the lack of service.

We visited BoneFish Grill, 4/5/14. Overall we was pleased, menus are interesting, some unique sides. Drinks are well made, an up to date choices. Entrees was grilled nicely. Service is above avgerage. We would go back.

They just got rid of my favorite food here, the 11oz angler steak. We eat here all the time and usually have a great experience but now that they have changed the menu it is not good. The steak that is on the menu is highest priced now.

Service was very fast and professional. They train their servers well, we had Paige and she was great. Knows how to pour wine the right way. Food was great, we just got Sir Will's fish & chips. Simple, but delicious flaky white meat fish with homemade tartar sauce. It was almost full but was still quiet enough to talk. Good place for a date...will have to try these fish tacos...Yay! I'm a fan.

Sunday Brunch was very nice. Service was very slow for as empty as it was in there at 11:00 (opening). Plus we learned that "endless mimosa/belini brunch" really means 3 glasses.

If you LOVE SALT then this is the place for you!! the food was horrible, and almost everything was over salted. I'm allergic to seafood so i had the Flatina Chops. Not exactly sure why they felt the need to serve my pork chop on top of my potatoes? WTF, Seriously was I supposed to mix the two or something? There's not more much I can say about this place other then I detest salt so I wont be going back....EVER However the service and my waitress was EXTREMELY nice and attentive (didn't have to ask for a refill once). Which is the only reason they got 2 stars from me, she rocked...food sucked! On another note some dumbass asked why I would order Pork Chops at a seafood restaurant...because I clearly list above im allergic to seafood and I was going out with someone who loves seafood its called being hospitable!!! also, its on there menu dumbass, which is why I order it...... Helps if you actually pay attention and read any more questions?

Awesome food! Great ambiance! Will not disappoint! It is a hidden gem in Lexington! If you like seafood, try their lobster tail... Better than Red Lobster's in my opinion... Try it!

I'm underwhelmed. On the good side, the restaurant is attractive and clean. It was little attended when we were there. Service was spot on, very attentive. Also, with one exception, we were not served anything I would call bad food. We just were not served anything I would call good food. The corn chowder was quite nice. Orange roughy with shrimp and sea scallops sounds very nice. The presentation (with the exception of Garbanzo beans as their featured veg. Who "feartures" chic peas?) was OK. The reality in the mouth was bottom of the barrel shrimp with no flavor accompanied by low-grade scallops similarly innocent of flavor and a side of asparagus which guess what? tasted of nothing. The fish itself was OK, and my wife liked her fish and chips but not the scalloped potatoes she requested in lieu of the fries (which were clearly commercial, previously frozen things). The rest of table was ...meh! The chocolate Crème brûlée was the one horror story. This was chocolate pudding with an extravagant bit of Rediwhip on top. No torch passed over it. It was simply awful. I think we shan't go back. $25 a plate for $13 a plate value.

First time at this Bonefish Grille and I was apprehensive because of all the mixed reviews. HOWEVER, the meal and service was fantastic!!! We started with bang bang shrimp (a must) and I ordered the sea bass w/vegetables and whipped potatoes. Wow! Phenomenal! The servings were a little small and prices a little more but I can't complain when I enjoyed every single bite and got some of the best service I've received. I'll definitely be coming back, not as often as I'd like though, because of the cost.

Crab cakes were good, but a touch moist inside. Tasted fantastic though. Dinner salad with blue cheese dressing and blue cheese crumbles was amazing. Bread was fresh and plentiful. Service was amazing. Atmosphere was high-class but comfortable.

Snazzy yet affordable. The night started off very calm and with a smile from the cute hostess. Even just for 2, we got a booth. Promptly approached by a gorgeous server in a white chef coat laced with a smile. Did not rush us, answered every question and had no issue with the multiple requests to make the dinner even better. The wine list is pretty solid but it could use more by the glass options. The food is more than decent. Some items better than others but nothing bad whatsoever. The Ahi sashimi is very nice. Parking was not that easy but whatever. The pricing is pretty fair considering the decor, quality of servers and nice plating and large utensils that make you feel like a freaking king when you hold them. I love this place even though it is a chain with mild imperfections.

We dined in the dining room, but the bar looked great too. Food: We started with the bang bang shrimp. As someone who doesn't really enjoy shrimp, I couldn't get enough of this shrimp. They're fried with a sauce added to them. Our group of 3 ended up having a total of 3 orders of these.. just as appetizors... I ordered the grilled salmon with lemon butter sauce, and it was excellent. One of the better salmons I've had. Followed up with a brownie/ice cream which was also good. Service: Very friendly waitresses and hostesses. No issues here. Will definitely be returning next time I come to Lexington.

I'm determined to eat at every Bonefish location I can. Lexington is a new one for me. Same great decor, food and service at other locations. I had the sea bass in lemon butter and the bam bam shrimp. My co-worker ordered the Tokyo ahi tuna which looked great. I know what I'm ordering next time.

We made our first trip to Lexington's Bonefish Grill to celebrate a family birthday. After waiting for a table, we were offered dining in the patio area. Unfortunately after accepting a table there, we found that the wind and cool weather made for a very uncomfortable dining experience. Then we waited and waited for our food to arrive, which only added to an already unpleasant situation. The food was okay but definitely overpriced. With so many fine restaurants in Lexington, I doubt that we'll be returning to The Bonefish Grill.

  • Tara H.

The service was awful. As soon as the waiter found out we weren't interested in any alcoholic beverages he seem uninterested in serving us. I have no idea what that was about. He made it seem like they make commission off of the drinks. I ordered shrimp and it tasted like dish soap. Not a great experience at all.

  • Emme C.

No wait at all for us since we got there around 4 pm, early dinner. Family friendly. Gives crayons, and something to color to keep little kids preoccupied while waiting for the food. Servings were more than enough, with salad, calamari appetizer, and complimentary bread, Chicken marsala was delish. Shrimps and scallops entree was also good. Creme brulee was fantastic. Total damage $50 and that included $9 tip. If you're on a healthy diet, I don't recommend this place, I can just imagine the calories, salt and sugar content of the dishes, but if you're going to do this once in a blue moon, go ahead.

We are on vacation, staying tonight in Lexington. The town is mobbed - it took 4 hotels to find a room. We have never been to the Bonefish Grill - nearest one is Chicago area - what a treat! It's Friday night, everyplace is crowded and yet we walked in and got a booth in the bar area with no wait time. We weren't sure what we wanted - so we ordered the crabcake starters to share - very light, hardly any filler. I'm not sure what held them together. The remoulade sauce was excellent. I ordered the Mussels Josephine - also a starter, but had it as my entree. It could have fed two people easily. I also ordered a half order of the Ahi tuna sashimi. YUM! Sesame seared with wasabi and pickled ginger. It also had a little drizzle of something sweet on the plate. The bread was not and delicious. Our server, James W., was so helpful and pleasant. We would go back here anytime we are in the area.

Tuesday Tales is reason enough to go to Bonefish Grill. You can get two lobster tails for the price of one regular tail. That said, we don't just go to Bonefish on Tuesdays. The bang bang shrimp is awesome, the ceviche is to die for. They have great happy hour specials until 7 and the house salad is a perfect addition to any meal. You must try the fish tacos or the bang bang shrimp tacos. No matter what!
