A drive through Georgetown for the afternoon and a quick search for Mexican food in the area led us to this place. We actually drove to another location with the same name, saw how crowded it seemed, and turned around to come here. We had assumed this was closed since it had a new location but nope, they're both open. This one just doesn't seem to be popular anymore. From the outside, I thought this was just a little Mexican food joint. The size of the restaurant's interior surprised me.There's some seating to the right of the entrance, and a large dining room to the left. We were seated at one of the booths on the perimeter. If it wasn't for the booths, this would have felt like a cafeteria with a bar. There was a buffet in the middle of the room, surrounded with long tables and cheap vinyl dining chairs. A bar sat in one corner. It was late afternoon, so I'm guessing we missed the lunch rush. There were some people eating, but it wasn't packed and we were served pretty quickly. The warm chips and salsa were amazing. We gobbled them up and were nearly full before getting our lunches. Mmm, addicting. My husband opted for the buffet, I ordered vegetarian fajitas. Yes! This place had a vegetarian option that was more than just beans! I actually had three plates brought to me: one for the tortilla, one for the rice and beans, and one filled with veggies. I didn't like that I had to assemble my own fajitas, but they were pretty good (and filling). I was happy. The bathrooms were clean, too. I was pleasantly surprised. I sort of expected less of Mi Casita based on some of the poor reviews, but this didn't end up being a bad place for a late afternoon lunch on a whim. It is what it is.

After reading the new mi casita's reviews, my boyfriend and I decided to give the place a try. We were confused when our gps told us to keep going down the road to our destination when we saw the dumpy little place (the locations are pretty much across the street from each other). We went in and got seated quickly, but all the other guests were loud and rude with unruly children. We decided to order a jumbo margarita with 2 cups to split, our waitress then brings us 2 jumbo (comedically large) margaritas and when we tried to explain that there was confusion and we didn't want 2 margaritas she got passive aggressive and flat out rude. Our waitress told us we were not allowed to send it back at first. After insisting it was not what we ordered, she then tells us we are not being funny and she has to pay for it, then she stormed off with the extra margarita and we watched her dump it back in the machine. After that she continued to be extremely rude to us and would roll her eyes when we were talking and come over aggressively to see what we needed. Her attitude was so off putting we ended up not ordering dinner and was ready for our check. Ended up being $17!!' She charged is for chips and salsa and then we had this mysterious $2 charge as well.

I've been here 2 times. Both times were within 2 years of each other and the second time I went was exactly the same as the first.. It's a great Mexican food restaurant and for a great price. The food is pretty good but it goes right through you sorry for too much info. I would go here again when I'm visiting my family.

I'm originally from CA and when I eat at Mexican restaurants I have a standard to which I expect Mexican food. All the sauces are heavy and meaty.. Which is the only thing I have a probelm with. But lots of people like it that way. Ask for a michelada they make great one!!

A friend had recommended Mi Casita as the best local Mexican food some years ago. I'm afraid either he was horribly mistaken or the quality has since declined. I thought this was among the worst Mexican food I've had in the Lexington-Georgetown area. I like hot food but one dish consisted of fiery hot peppers and I literally could not eat it. The rest of the plate was an unappetizing and mediocre pile of refried beans and rice. The service was decent but the restaurant had little atmosphere. As another reviewer wrote, it was like eating in a Mexican cafeteria serving institutional food.

They really need to move into their new location SOON! I had to step over the toliet, the only toilet in the place, and then wasn't allowed to toss my TP in the toilet - it went in the trash can. Yuck. Yuck. I grew up with outhouses better designed and maintained than this place. Only had a beer. Didn't eat here.

Lunch buffet! Why don't all Mexican restaurants have this? They still bring you chips and salsa, but you can load up on all the queso and guacamole you want on your own. Plus taquitos, burritos, a taco bar, some interesting but good noodle-y concoctions, enchiladas, and so much more. I don't really get all the negative reviews other than agreeing with the not-so-great restrooms. Needed a quick lunch and was able to get in and out in under a half hour.

Not too bad.. Food was good.. A little more authentic then most of the Mexican returaunts we've visited. The place was a little bit dirty around the edges. I would avoid the restrooms if I was you. Our waitress was nice and spoke English well with a little accent. Next time we are in town we will probably try another restaurant but wouldn't be against eating here again.

This restaurant is filthy. The ceiling tiles were stained and sagging and the bathroom was so dirty that we couldn't use it...not exactly where you want to eat, but we didn't realize that until the end of the below average meal. The margaritas were full of artificial flavorings, the ice tea tasted like dirty socks and the waitress was rude beyond belief. I would not recommend this place EVER. If you care about food quality, run the other direction.

My husband and I take the kids here for dinner every few weeks. I am originally from San Diego CA, so needless to say, I know authentic Mexican food - Mi Casita completely delivers on authenticity. The flavors of everything I've ever ordered there have been absolutely excellent. The waiters/waitresses are always courteous and friendly and the price is more than fair. Great place to eat!

I have never eaten in a Mexican Cafeteria before, but I can imagine this is close to it. The atmosphere is very loud, open, and drowning in fluorescent light. As the evening progressed, you could tell they had no intentions of dimming it either. The servers were very fast and friendly, the food was ok, and the restaurant looks very upscale from the outside... but if you're looking for authentic Mexican, keep driving. It's ok to take the kids in a pinch for family night, but that's about it. Sorry guys... even the guacamole looks and tastes like it came from a bag.

Went there for dinner on 4/13/2013. Server was rude to one of us and our food was cold. I would not go there again.
