Camino Grande has good food and good service. The last time I was there with our family the server was very friendly and answered all the questions we had on the menu items. The Chimicanga (spelling? lol) was really tasty. It comes in chicken or beef with a really nice cheese sauce. The only bad point was that they didn't have the air conditioner on very high on pretty hot day. On the other hand, soft drink refills came cold and often to offset that!

The best Mex restaurant in Georgetown. Not the best I have ever eaten in but tasty and well priced. They seem to specialize in fajitas. The Comino Especial fajita is more than most humans can finish and very good. I would n't bother with the other two Mex places in G-town.

I'm baffled how other reviewers rated this place anything less than 5 stars! My family loves this place SO much that we drive from Lexington when we want Mexican food. The menu is huge & I've always heard raves about their specials. Two of us ate here yesterday for dinner. One ordered 4 enchiladas - beef, chicken, cheese & bean - each different & I ordered a chicken enchilada & a chicken burrito. They were stuffed with chicken (all breast meat) & came with sauce, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, guac & pico - for $7.99! $19 for dinner for two & we took home some fabulous chips & salsa. Here's yet an even more amazing fete that happens EVERY time we eat here: our incredibly hot plates of food arrive at our table in under 3 minutes easily (I should have timed it.)!!! We love this place & they deserve your business!

Passing through and tried Camino Grande because of good reviews. Entering I noticed all the employees were Mexican, a good sign. We were very impressed with the food and service. I wanted chile rellenos and the menu only included one as a combination meal. I asked the server if I could have two with some beans. No problem. They were the best I've ever eaten. Very authentic, wonderful food. I would have given them five stars except that we were not much impressed with their salsa. Also very reasonably priced.

This is yet another great Mexican Restaurant in Georgetown across the road from Arby's and Kmart. They offer a few drink specials and have a full bar. Their service is fast and friendly. I try to make it a point to order something different each time I go here. Their food is always good and hot. Stop in if you are passing by, its worth a try

1st and last time all in one visit. Server Humberto waited almost 20 minutes before coming to take a drink order even though my husband had been coughing for quite some time on a chip. He brought our meals, no silverware so waited again, asked for a manager. Then Humberto brought one napkin and 3 forks, that is all we have. The rest of the meal we were waited on by the manager who could care less. My husband ordered lil bit of everything. What he got was ground beef taco, pile of ground beef with cheese and ground beef enchilada. I had chunks of dry carnitas with no knife. Never again.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
