We did some take out from here and were very impressed. We got the chicken tenders and they were fresh and absolutely delicious. I will take Lee's over KFC anyday. Try them, you will be impressed. Staff is very friendly and efficient. They will see us again for sure.

Food was tasty but after seeing the staff and hearing their gossiping conversations I will not go back.

The food was good for me, my 6 year old loves the mac & cheese. Very close to the hotel we were staying at ..so we walked. Im very picky about sweet tea but this tea was a hit, refreshing.

This place was really close to my hotel and overall, im glad I came. It's similar to other fast food chicken places so I wasnt expecting much. For two pieces, two sides, a biscuit and a drink it was about $6.50. The chicken was incredibly juicy but the place gets 3 stars because the sides felt like the sides I remember getting in my high school cafeteria. The mac and cheese were watery. But I'd come back for more chicken! Plus, I like how you can get your own hot sauce.

I don't like giving 5 stars to a fast food joint simply because I'm sure this isn't the most healthy food choice... but this time i make an exception ..... It just tastes soo good!!! I use the reach coupon over and over here to get the 3 piece with double mashed potatoes. I've found that when you go during the last hour often you'll get a bonus piece for free ;) Famous recipe or spicy, it doesn't matter here cuz its going to taste great!!... I wanna go get me some of this Lees Famous right now!!!!

When I asked the hotel receptionists what would be a local food well-known around the area and the response was "well, we have Kentucky Fried Chicken, but I guess you can find them everywhere now", I grimaced. For a moment, I had forgotten that I'm in Kentucky, since I just got off the plane in Cincinnati. I love, love KFC, but wanted to try something more local, so off I went to Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken, which I uncovered via Yelp. Here, I had the best Fried Chicken - freshly made, extremely hot on the outside AND inside. I tried the Hot and Spicy and Original - They were both totally de-li-cious. The sign stated that they only use fresh, NEVER frozen chicken, which would explain the amazing taste. The spices used are similar to KFC for the chicken. There are also many different kinds of sauces available for dipping but the chicken was perfect without any of them. The mash potatoes and gravy were quite bland - I definitely am addicted to KFC on this item. The cole slaw was surprisingly similar to KFC's. What makes this place different from KFC's in the West are the artery-clogging fried chicken livers and gizzards. I didn't so much cared about the breading surrounding them which were rather soft but loved the spices used to cook them. The sweet tea is the best drink I probably have ever tasted - drank two full glasses and didn't sleep all night. KPI (Key Performance Indicator) ratings (1-5, 5 - best): Quality: 4 Delivery/Service: 3 Cost: 4

I've been to this Lee's many times, and the food is excellent. I love the chicken strips; and the potato wedges are outta this world.

Where do I start? I've always been a huge fan of Lee's. The side dishes are ten times better than KFC, and are absolutely delicious. The sweet tea is legendary and I buy it by the gallon. They have a great selection of sauces and this location, which sits on the corner of Turfway Road and Burlington Pike, has all the great sauces on tap! Get an order of chicken livers, mac n' cheese, green beans and a biscuit and you'll be in heaven.

I was in Kentucky and did not want to have KFC. I wanted better. Now this is a regional chain, so i thought of trying them. Now i am not a big fan of the breaded fried chicken, but the breaded part in this fried chicken was just so yummy. So much better than KFC. Best part about this place was the big array of sauces to choose from. They have hot sauces, sweet sauces, ranch, etc.. etc. Big Like!

I wanted to like this, really I did. But, when the best part of the meal is the green beans there's a serious problem. First off let's start with the chicken. I got a mix between spicy and oven roasted. Now, being in Kentucky I though Hot & Spicy would pack quite a punch; sadly that left much to be desired. The oven roasted chicken was run of the mill and didn't wow me, but let's face it this is a "fried" chicken place not a roasted chicken place. On to the sides: Horrible and dry Mac n Cheese that pales in comparison to KFC. Potato Wedges were good and not covered in oil. Biscuits were ok, and the green beans were cooked with some other meat (ham?) because there were small pieces of it in the container. Another thing that was disappointing was that the menu touts a variety of sauces for dipping but there's no to go containers for them so you can't get any unless you dine in. I can't see myself going back anytime soon/ever again Pros: - Good green beans - Reasonably priced - Not as sodium infused as KFC Cons: - Chicken lacks flavor - Epic fail on the side items

They screwed up my order and gave me green beans. That's normally not a problem because I'm a fan of them. Worst. Ever. It was even worse because I didn't order them. Outside of that experience, I'm a big fan. Awesome chicken strips with honey mustard dipping sauce. The potato salad, mac n cheese, wedges, and mashed potatoes are all good sides.

I asked one of the fella's that I'm working with this week where I could find some good fried chicken in these parts. Well, there's Kentucky Fried Chicken (hello... I'm in KENTUCKY. Although I've never had a KFC while in the K so maybe it's better?) And there's also Lee's. Now in California, when you go to a restaurant named Lee's, you'll usually end up with Chinese take-out. Down here, you get some fairly tasty fried chicken. Lee's is a regional chain that's been around since the mid 1960's. They serve up a flavorful crunchy fried chicken (beats KFC in my book, at least CA-KFC), the mashed potatoes are good as well. The gravy is lighter in color and accentuated with black pepper grindings. The cole slaw is similar in appearance as KFC, but a little more on the sweet side. (pics are posted) They also serve up their famous recipe southern sweet tea here (also available by the gallon). I heard a few people going through the drive-thru ordering the gallons. All in all, not too shabby. I'm full, don't feel overly greasy, and after typing this up, I'm probably ready to shower up and sleep it off. Tomorrow's Southern BBQ day so I gotta save my strength... lol...

I'm from New York and this place KICKED ASS! it was like KFC if KFC used really good ingredients (instead of awful fast foody ingredients). I had the chicken livers cuz i never tried chicken liver before (my dad never gave ME chicken livers) and it was so good. The only issue was they gave me so much food i couldn't finish it all! (Next time i'll get one side dish instead of two). It was so good. Its nice to know that there are still places in America where you can be named "Lee" and still step up in 2008!
