Chuy’s Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

BRING BACK THE PRICKLY PEAR MARGARITA!! That should be on the drink menu year round.......you'd get 5 stars if it were... Love the atmosphere, could eat just chips and creamy jalapeño dip & margaritas; and be happy. Chicken Flautas are always gross....should get rid of them and change up the appetizer plate a bit. Hostess could use some customer service training; not the most pleasant things to be around when you first walk in...

Elvis is waiting to see you at Chuy's! The decor here is so crazy and all over the place I see something new each time I go. The menu is also big and you have tons of options to choose from so you can get something new every time. Great atmosphere for kids and adults alike. Service is always great and the bar is awesome.

You know - even though I'm a foodie, I really love Chuy's. They do make everything, in house - roasted chicken, sauces and yes, even the refried beans. We've been to Chuy's, quite a few times - things we love...the thin, crispy, hot tortilla chips (the salsa is average), the boom boom sauce, the jalapeno dip, the chuychanga, the refried beans and the husband loves their big burritos. A fail was the fish tacos (I'm a pro on them) - way too much crunchy breading on them. Also, I hate when restaurants put a bunch of shredded lettuce on and under the guacamole. Such a pet peeve. Not to mention, Chuy's is just eclectic and fun - Elvis heads, hubcaps, huge flowers. Doesn't get better than that. Service, all 4 times, was really great, too. I'm a fan.

Their beans are amazing and the food is definitely worth it as far as price and service. The people that run it are good people that go out of the way to make sure you get what you ask for. Love it

This is a decent mexican restaurant. However, I found that the decorations were better than the food. The dish that I ordered took a long time to get to the table, and there was nothing special about it. It was a very average mexican meal. The atmosphere is very cool though, and some of the decorations are very artsy and impressive. Yet what matters most to me, the food, was average, and thus the average rating.

I've said it before and I'll say it again ... one of the best ways to judge a Mexican restaurant is by its enchiladas. The sauce is key: is it some thin tomato based joke or a thick, rich chili base. Chuy's does them right. A deep, rich, smoky chili sauce covering those bad boys! Easily my favorite enchiladas in the Tri-state area. The chips and salsa are choice as well. Fresh salsa and thin, light chips? Yes please and keep 'em coming. Is it a chain restaurant? Absolutely. Is there a reason why the place is always packed? Absolutely!

My experiences here have been very mixed. When they first opened my family and I gave them a try. We got nice sized portions on every item we tried. The prices were good and the margaritas were strong. We honestly decided this was the place for Americanized Mexican food in Florence. We returned twice and it was great. But then things changed. The next time the Margaritas were basically sweet lime juice. The portion was smaller. I ordered a chicken chimichanga and ,I am not being dramatic, counted exactly three 2" x 2" pieces of chicken. It was a bean and cheese chimi with three pieces of chicken in it. We figured it was an off night but the next visit was the same. We haven't been back. It seemed like they were established so they were getting lax. Hopefully it goes back to the way it first was because it started out very good.

My second visit omit Chuy's on my business travels. It is hard to find good TexMex but this place is excellent. I guess it is a chain out of Austin but it is really good. Homemade flour tortillas and the jalapeño cream sauce is to die for. Chicken Tortilla soup was chuck full of chicken and veggies, excellent! This place is good for kids, family etc. good choice for dinner or just having a sangria with friends.

Ok. I like it. I have visited twice and find the food good, the price good, and the atmosphere good. Both visits included some version of an ameri-mex burrito that hit the spot when you crave such fare. The staff have been friendly and attentive on both trips which is no longer the norm in the restaurant business. Enjoy!

Really flavorful dishes and great service. My new favorite Mexican chain restaurant.

  • Channon S.

This is some good eats. Actually better than all the so-called "authentic" mexican restaurants as they're not afraid to use a bit of spice. Chain-restaurant food is not supposed to be this good. My only complaint is the noise level. Why does every place have to be so godforsaken ly deafeningly loud? We've finally got one on the right side of the river but it's clear over in Kenwood which is a disaster to navigate traffic-wise.

Great service from Elvis Jr. who offered to let us try different sauces and spent time helping us choose from the menu. The food was delicious (including the free chips and salsa) and the outdoor patio was a nice place to have dinner. Chuy's location is very convenient to the airport if you are looking for a bite on your way there. Highly recommend!

The place is new and the place was packed. Love the unique decor and I love the postcards they provide for us to use as you may (ah, dang, I forgot to grab one on my way out). Their Creamy Jalapeno Ranch Dip for tortilla chips is a must try and pretty awesome. My chicken taco was really good. The server was very accommodating. I asked for lime to squeeze on my rice. No problem. Sour cream on my taco please. No problem. Very impressed I was. What I noticed the most was Teamwork. Any server would dump a scoop of chips in your basket. Any server walks by and fills your glass of water. They work together and I love that. The only thing I would change, is that the restroom is way in the back, off from the dining areas, past the bar. It is not centrally located where I feel would flow better. But..it is full of light (glass block) and clean...so A+ for that. I also really like the creative t-shirts. The one with Florence y'all water tower turned into Chuey's Y'all is very cool. As we were leaving we see St. Elvis tribute area. Funny stuff Chuy:)

I've had better Tex-Mex at airports in New England. The tortillas are a mild bright spot. Otherwise, this place makes Don Pablos look haute.

OK - I liked the salsa. Fresh and had some interesting flavor I couldn't quite figure out. Other than that, my reaction is "How much? For this??!!??". The "enchilada was a flour tortilla with meat. That's it. No sauce (though they made a point to ask me what I wanted), the chilli relleno was also not so great. Breading was thick and tasted of used oil. The filling was fine and the very very little sauce they provided was barely noticable. Maybe it is just me but for relatively high prices for tex-mex, I think they can do a lot better. I may try it once more simply because I think the bartender (I sat at the bar) simply failed to top the dish properly or to perhaps provide sauce on the side.... if it fails then I will totally wipe it off my list of places worth hitting for a dish or two....

Standard Mexican restaurant except they have awesome art wrk on the walls and for happy hour I think it's Friday only they have a "chip bar" best way to describe it. An area where you fill your little bowls w/ different dipping they have salsa, refried beans, cheese, and meat ... Cnt remember what else but it's good. I don't think the happy hour on alcohol is as good w/ the mixed drinks like margaritas and long islands.

  • Michael N.

This restaurant is a solid "meh" in my book. The food was very overpriced for what we got. The taste was okay. I got the Oven Roasted Chicken Burrito w/ Queso Sauce on it. The spice from the Queso way overwhelmed the taste of the burrito. All i could taste was the spice. I understand this establishment to be Mexican/Tex-Mex but compared to some of the other Mexican restaurants in the area. [Cancun, El Rancho Grande etc] they are nothing more than an over priced Taco Bell..... I doubt I'll be back

  • Marilynn A.

They keep the chips coming which is good. The guacamole is expensive for a tiny dip. A whole avocado is $1 at the grocery---how can guac be so much? Best bet? Go to happy hour, sit in the bar, eat all the chips, salsa, queso etc.. that you want from the tailgate and buy a few drinks. I'm not a fan of the actual food/meals. It's a trendy chain and people are sold on the ambiance. Service has been very good all four times I've been there.

Love it! The Elvis green chili fried chicken is incredible! So glad The Southwest is in our area on a cold winter day. Feels like I am back in Arizona!

There is a first time and a last time for everything. This will be my last time I eat here. Walked in and I was hopeful they served authentic Mexican food, seeing they had an area where they made what they call homemade tortillas. Food was over priced, service was slacking, and you get your silverware in a envelope that says it's been sterilized for our safety. I guess the Ebola scare has them on edge. Now for the food it looked good until you ate it. The only taste you get is spice and nothing more (it's one thing to be Spicy, it's another to mask every taste with spice). I always like something about a restaurant, not in this situation.

First time there was last night with my husband and wr had a great first experience. Our waitress sarah was wonderful and helped us pick out great food selection. There margaritas are good but my favorite thing was the chips with jalapeño ranch---omg so yummy.

We have been eagerly waiting for Chuy's to open in Florence. We were lucky enough to get an invite to one of their many sneak preview events and really liked their chips, salsa, guacamole and LOVED the creamy jalapeno dip. We didn't go the first day it opened, but we did go there for lunch twice within the first five days it was open. The decor is wonderfully funky and you really need to explore all of the areas to see everything. Tom got tacos al carbon and I had the fish baja tacos. Just great! Oh, and we ate way too many chips. The second time, we had fajitas for two (steak and chicken). They were some of the best we've ever had. As Tom put it, "these are as good as the Alamo Cafe in San Antonio." We picked up both the To-go menu and the Party menu on the way out so we'll be taking advantage of those options very soon. Viva Chuy's!

Typical Tex-Mex food. Better than any of the strip mall Mexican joints in town. Service was very very slow. Our waitress either had to many tables or was not trained very well. Regardless the food came out rather quickly and was nice and hot. We will definitely be going back whenever the craving hits us.

A recent lunch here was my second time eating at any Chuy's (the one in Lexington was my first) and first time eating at this one. They claim all their restaurants are unique ("if you've eaten at one Chuy's, you've eaten at one Chuy's"), but the menu seemed the same as was the general kitchy fun decor with Elvis shrine. In any case, 5 stars for our waitress--attentive and friendly. The chips are thin, crispy and delicious and the starter of queso was addictive. However, my entree was disappointing. I ordered the "Chuy's Special" which is a stacked blue corn tortilla chicken enchilada and was surprised by how bland it tasted and it was pretty light on actual chicken too. The rice and beans were average--good, but nothing special. I would definitely go back and try something else, but it's only an A-OK review this time.

Hooray! A Chuy's finally made it's way to the Cincinnati region! To start, you get free chips and salsa, and the salsa is delicious! Let me also reiterate...they're free! I don't remember the last time I received free chips and salsa in Downtown Cincinnati. The atmosphere is super eclectic and our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive...maybe on the brink of too attentive...but that's definitely better than her being MIA. There were tons of delicious things to choose from on the menu, but let me focus on the items we ate while we were there. Queso. You. Must. Get. This. The queso is amazing and comes with beef, avocado, and salsa for you to mix together for pure awesomeness. It does trend a little on the salty side, so be sure to have your water ready. For my meal, I had the Southwestern enchiladas, and they're pretty good. I was a big fan of the over easy egg on top, and the contents of the enchilada was awesome. I will say that I'm not a huge fan of corn tortillas, so as a personal preference, I would rate the dish overall ok/good. My boyfriend got the steak tortilla, and it was phenomenal. Again, possibly the flour tortilla was the reason I loved it. The steak was cooked really well, and the salsa that it came with was super delicious. I would definitely recommend you getting this to eat! Overall, for all the food we got, a pretty solid deal for the bill to come out just over $30 total. Be sure to check Chuy's out!

Chuy's opened up in Florence, KY on 11/6/2012, and being the foodies that we are, my wife and I, and some friends of ours decided to check out Northern KY's newest eatery. The first the I noticed walking into this place is the eclectic decor, the fish hanging from the ceiling, the Elvis head, the palm trees etc. Crazy decor for a Mexican restaurant. I thought the station where you could see them making the fresh tortillas was a nice touch, but enough about the decor. It is the food that matters, and it is pretty good. My wife tried the enchiladas, and I tried the fajitas. We both loved our meals but we thought the sides were somewhat limited. The sides were limited to refried beans and rice. The waitress never let our basket of tortilla chips go empty for very long, and we loved the taste of Chuy's fresh salsa. The girls both ordered frozen drinks, and they were pretty strong (yea!). I was disappointed that they didn't have draft beer, but they have a decent enough beer selection so I could live with bottled beer for a night. Overall, loved the atmosphere, (we ate in the hubcap room) loved the food, and there was enough stuff on the menu that I want to come back and try some different things. I am sure we will be a repeat offender of Chuy's. We really enjoyed it.

Love this place! Great atmosphere and great food. Love the white ranch dip with chips! The soft tacos are great as well. They had a chile special going on with great fresh chiles from New Mexico. Great menu choices!

Not bad at all, the only comment I have that would be negative was the beef in my burrito was very dry, otherwise great service and the ambiance is very cool, Elvis is everywhere!

Very celiac and gluten free friendly restaurant. JJ the manager took good care checking ingredients and making sure we were well taken care of. Chips and salsa were great too, tasty veggies.

Free chips and salsa! Had the Chuychanga- very good. Boyfriend had the steak burrito - also very good (ordered with creamy jalapeño sauce, recommended). Lots of sauces, lots of flavor. And a super fun interior! Would return for good Mexican next time I'm in the area.

After dining with my son at Chuy's today for lunch, I have mixed feelings about the place. First, the good: service, the salsa and the chili con queso. The wait staff were incredibly attentive and polite, the salsa was obviously fresh and had a nice kick, and the chili con queso was extra yummy. Now, the not-so-good: the ranchero sauce and the beef burrito. I'm not sure what words adequately describe the ranchero sauce, so I'll just say this: pick something else. My son ordered a beef burrito which was filled with a boatload of beans and hardly any beef. I understand that beans are cheaper than beef, but please. If you like enchiladas, a little place in Independence called Rio Grande (not to be confused with El Rio Grande) has the best I have tried in the Greater Cincinnati area. My husband always orders tacos there, so I suspect they are good too.

Chuy's has come to the Cincinnati area and this former Texan could not be happier about it! Chuy's is an Austin institution and one of the things I miss most about being so far away from home. I have been eagerly awaiting their opening in Florence and last night my husband and I made the drive. I knew we should probably get there early but was still amazed that at 5:45 there was a 30 minute wait for a table. The place was packed! Luckily the bar is a pleasant place to wait for a table. You can order appetizers and drinks there while you wait. We were seated about 30 minutes later and I was so happy to see the menu is the exact menu from their Austin locations. The best part of all was that the food tastes exactly the same. I was prepared to be just a little disappointed but happily was not. The service was surprisingly good for a restaurant that had only been open for 5 days. I can't wait to go back!

Absolutely love the creamy jalapeño dip! Make sure to ask for it, it's complimentary. Fun atmosphere/decor. If you are not sure if you would like a certain sauce on an entree, they will let you taste it before you order (I enjoy the tomatillo sauce).

  • K B.

Ok food ...bad service....Sat at the bar on a Sunday evening to eat and got horrible service from a younger bartender with bad attitude. I was the only one at the bar and had to ask for everything I got...to top it off the girl was mad because the margarita machine was out and she climbed on the bar to look down in the machine. She stood on the bar serving area and never wiped it off!! I felt like this was a Bar Rescue episode...

This was my first time at Chuy's, but it won't be my last. The taco bar was delicious and I had the cheese enchiladas with the jalapeño cream sauce. I think our waitress name was Cassie and she was one if the best waitresses I have ever had (which is not what I expected put of a chain). I highly recommend.

A good friend raved to me about the Stuffed Avocado special they only have on Monday evenings at Chuy's Florence. I was excited to try this dish, because she's gone on about this is the best item on the menu for months, but we found out when we arrived, it's not available for a few weeks due to a national promotion going on in all of their restaurants. We sat in the bar area, enjoyed variety of salsas, chile con queso and special beef tip, which was good to mix with the queso with the endless supply of chips offered to our table. I tried the Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom enchiladas, which I recommend having a side of their their jalapeno ranch dressing, was just the right combo with the enchilada sauce. Friend ordered taco salad and her husband went with order of chile rellenos. Service was good with filling your drinks and giving you chip refills, but friend asked for side of sour cream three times to go with her taco salad and finally arrived by a manager. I would return to just have chips with side of the jalapeno ranch dressing that dressing is the bomb!

  • Catherine H.

The blandest, most overpriced Mexican food I've ever had. My husband and I each had two chicken tacos. The tortillas themselves were very good. Inside, each had about 2 small pieces of "fajita" chicken, which lacked any flavor or spice. The grilled onions in mine helped a bit, but it was still blah. Chips were OK, salsa was runny and watered down with no kick. For four chicken tacos, each with rice & beans, and two sodas, our bill before tip came to $24. Just about any other Mexican food option would be better and cheaper than this. Our server was friendly and attentive, which is the only reason for 2 stars instead of 1.

I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food in general because I feel like no matter what restaurant you go to, it all tastes the same. So when Chuy's came up as an option for dinner, I was a little hesitant but went with it anyway. I'm glad I did. Let me start off with the staff - from the hostess to the busser, our waitress to the food runner, everyone at Chuy's was SO nice! It wasn't a fake nice either...we didn't feel like they were putting on a smile just to earn a good tip. They showed sincere interest in us and making sure we had the best dining experience possible. A shout out to our awesome sever, Hailey. You seriously made our night and we've already decided when we come back, we're asking for your section! Both of us got the Chica-Chica Boom Boom, two small enchiladas stuffed with pulled chicken, cheese and onions, smothered in a creamy jalapeno sauce. I'm a total wuss when it comes to spice so once the food runner noticed my reaction, she mentioned it to Hailey who immediately offered guac and sour cream to cut down on the kick. It was delicious! We were a little boring and went with iced tea as our drink of choice so I can't say much about the bar selection or drinks. All I know is that I will be back there very, very soon! Definitely a great place for a Texas twist on Mexican cuisine!

The BEST Mexican chain. PERIOD! The Steak burrito is my favorite but beware, it is spicy. Do yourself a favor and try it. You'll become a regular guaranteed.

If you go on a weekend night be prepared for a very long (but worth it) wait. It took us about an hour to be seated but the food and drinks made us realize why the place is so packed. My perfect margarita was perfection in every aspect of the word, and the appetizers were great. I ordered the chika-chika boom boom enchiladas which had this amazingly addictive spicy tomatillo sauce, and the refried beans were more authentic with chunks of beans vs. the all mush kind at other Mexican restaurants. The highlight of the night was the tres leches cake. Let me start by saying I don't like cake. Period. The tres leches cake at Chuy's changed that for me, because the cake itself is so moist and sweet without feeling heavy. The best way I can describe this is layers of goodness covered with a sauce so good I want to free-base the stuff. The caramel drizzle on top and strawberries just blew my mind. I already want more.

As a Texan, born and raised- I was beyond thrilled when I saw a Chuy's 5 minutes away from my new job. I've eaten Chuy's many times throughout Texas- and this one is every bit as delicious! Most "Mexican" in Ohio or Kentucky has red enchilada sauce on EVERY item. The best part (to me) about Chuy's is the diversity in sauces for each meal- and you can change what automatically comes with your meal for whatever tickles your fancy. There are many spicy options on the menu, but the waitstaff is generally very good about making sure a spicy meal is what you're wanting. The chips and salsa are the best in town: the chips are fresh, light, and airy. The salsa is made on the hour, so it's always very fresh.. and the creamy jalapeno.... YUM! The fajitas are total Tex-Mex: grilled steak or chicken cut and placed on a bed of sautéed onions and peppers. The meat is not cooked in a sauce- and there are no stewed tomatoes (Hurray!). As I visit my fave restaurant, Chuy's, at least once a week- I've tried everything on the menu... and there are only 3 things that I personally will not order again. But I HIGHLY recommend anyone interested in Tex-Mex to try it out!!! YUMMY!!!

I went with my father for lunch since we were in the area. He has been there before, but this was my first time. It is nice that you get chips and salsa for free. It seems that a lot of Mexican restaurants you have to pay for it. The salsa was amazing. I wish you could buy some to take home. The chips were perfect. I ended up getting a bloody mary, since I am obsessed with them. When I saw it on the menu and the price, I had to get one. I was not disappointed at all. My dad got their special and he was happy with it. To be honest, I can not remember what he had. I had their chicken soft taco and I was surprise on how much food you got. You build your taco your self, which is a little different, but it worked out. The guacamole was ok, I had better but then I have had worse. Our waitstaff was meh. Our waitress was sitting at a booth behind us talking to some one she knew. That seem very unprofessional and that is why I did not give it a higher star. She was fine at her job, but you could tell she would rather be at the booth talking to her friend then actually serving her tables. I will need to go to Kenwood and see how it compares to this one.

My husband and I were looking forward to eating here since the restaurant opened but the place was always packed ( good sign, eh?). Not really. First of all we were seated in the small "wing" with all the hub caps on the ceiling and they obviously had the area way beyond capacity because it was super cramped. It then took us ages to get waited on. My meal, the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Enchiladas, we're just terrible. Quite possibly the worst meal I've ever had at a restaurant. The pulled chicken inside the enchilada was full of bones, had no seasoning what so ever and was cold. My husband ordered tacos which we had to double-check to make sure he didn't accidentally order off the kids menu because they were so small. The only thing this chain restaurant had going for it was the in house made chips which still will not convince us to come back. Pass up this place and head to Acapulcos off of Mall Rd. instead!

Great restaurant.... very clean, I mean even the restrooms are spic and span. My server basically brought us everything we asked for, refilled the drinks at least 3 times during the meal, and brought refills on salsa and chips as well. I wanted an extra plate for my meal and she brought that out too. The food was cooked well. I ordered a chicken taco with rice and refried beans. The chicken was moist and tender. I always think refried beans taste bland, but Chuy's had some sort of unique flavor. I also order a tres leche cake for dessert....it was a taste of heaven on earth. The cake was very moist with a layer of Carmel drizzled over it. The bill for my boyfriend and I was only 27 total not bad for two meals and a dessert.

Chuys is your typical tex-mex place. They do however have the best chips and Creamy Jalapeño. The bottomless chips almost makes you forget about ordering food. The steak burrito is very tasty. They also have frozen margaritas that are pretty good.

We were pretty disappointed with this restaurant. The chips and salsa were good but our food was bland, dry, and just not very good. If you like average Tex-Mex food, this restaurant will be ok. If you're looking for fresh and flavorful food, however, you will not find it here.

Got a special pre opening invite, hard to give a complete review as the staff were in training. Service was good but hectic , only problem I see is some of the sauces cover the flavor of the food. Going to return and give an update.

A group of 10 of us met at the new Chuys Mexican place in Florence last night at 6:30. Surprisingly, they got us in and seated and snacking on some chips and salsa pretty quickly. The waiting area was packed so we knew it was going to be great! We weren't disappointed. The atmosphere is fun. The service is FANTASTIC, maybe the best around or at least the best I've seen in a long time! The food was phenomenal. The chips were thin and crispy and delicious and the choices of salsas were awesome. All in all, this place gets a 10 out of 10 from me. The prices were good. Definitely worth the trip! We'll be regulars there!

New reastraunt in town. Expect a wait at prime times and unless you can get into the bar expect to be standing as there is little seating for the wait area. Manager an waitress were fantastic with our boys. Great service all around. Was very surprised at another waitress checking in on us when our waitress received a large party. She was trulyconcerned for her coworker. Food was fantastic!

The food at Chuy's is creative, fresh, and unique for a Mexican chain restaurant. I highly recommend the boom boom sauce. The chicken quesadillas are amazing, and are made with fresh flour tortillas. Also, the decor is really cute.

I've been to this Chuy's on a few occasions, and each time it's been great. I pretty much always go during the 4-7PM weekday happy hour so I can get free queso off the nacho car (yes, the trunk of an actual car). Their queso is just OK to me, so it's not worth the price ordering it off the menu. Their salsa is fantastic though. It has a decent bit of heat to it, and tons of fresh lime. You must also order a side of the creamy jalapeno to dip chips in. It's like a ranch dressing with a little bit of jalapeno added, not too spicy at all. For entrees, I really like the fajitas and any of the combination platters that involves chili rellenos. This past visit, they were doing a special menu for their chili festival, and I tried their tacos el pastor. The menu said they were "mini tacos", but there was nothing mini about them. You get 4 of their freshly made soft taco sized flour tortillas with a marinated and roasted pork. Then they're topped with onions and cilantro. The pork was spicy and very flavorful, and since it came with chili rice and beans, it was more than enough food for two meals, all for $8.99. The service is good here, but can be a bit slow since they're busy almost all the time. Last visit, our server messed up my wife's order. He admitted that it was his mistake, apologized several times, and rushed her a new one that was perfect. We were very happy with his service. We'll both be back for sure!

When we first got there everyone was super nice. We got our food fast & never saw anyone again unless we flagged them down. I needed sour cream & extra napkins so it seemed like I sat there for about 5 min after getting food before I even saw one server. Food was just okay & we did not like queso it had an odd meat flavor to it ... Will not return .... But ambiance was cute

Recently tried Chuy's for lunch on a Saturday. This was the first time we had been there. We really like the decorations and the nice bar area. I had a roasted chicken burrito and the wife had the Chuychanga. Both were nicely presented and tasted good. The burrito, however was not the best I have ever had. There wasn't a good deal of chicken inside and a good portion of the size seemed to come from the tortilla which was wrapped up on the bottom. The portions I would end up with on my fork would would wind up being about half consisting of tortilla. The green chile sauce was quite good and spicy as was the green chile rice. The salsa was very fresh and tasty as well and we liked the thinner chips. Service was OK, but spotty...not spectacular. We plan on giving it another try soon and possibly during happy hour in the bar for the added free snacks they put out during that time.

I finally tried this place out after months of debating. I'm a huge fan of Chevy's and I thought this place might be a good substitute. The waitress was very good but the food just meet my expectations. I had the chicken fajitas, it was bland and the chicken was dry. The queso was really good but their chips were too thin and they broke from the weight making it very difficult to eat. Probably won't be back.

Been to Chuy's twice since Florence, KY opening. Chips and salsa are fantastic. Chips are thin and not greasy. Salsa is fresh and not "ketchupy" could be a little warm for some tastes. Food portions are generous. Food I had was very good but this can depend on the sauce you choose for your entree. Individual tastes will of course vary. Enchiladas, chili rellenos, steak and chicken fajitas were all excellent with ranchero and "boom boom" sauce. The latter suggested by our server as a house specialty ( not nearly as hot as it sounds ). Service was friendly and attentive but not bothersome. Atmosphere is lively with a tropical Mexican theme. Defiantly worth a try but I recommend first timers to read menu sauce descriptions or ask for a taste, The staff is happy to get you one. Great make your own nachos happy hour in the bar area.

Food was average. Prices are above average. With all the other Mexican dining options in NKY I think you can find better.

This place is fabulous. I've lived in California, Phoenix, Vegas, and all of these cities offer amazing mexican food. That being said, Chuy's has the best chips and dip I've ever tasted (especially the creamy Jalapeno)! Their tortillas are also the best I've ever had. I'd recommend the Chicken Fajitas and the Chuychanga.

Great place to eat, bar or restaurant is comfortable with nice staff, Lexington location is just as good for yummy Tex Mex

This has to be one of the worst services a restaurant could possibly have. Food came very quick, but food is dull and not too great.. Cheap food, but you get what you pay for, right? Save yourself and don't eat here.

My husband is an Austin, TX native and this food hits the spot! While the food is consistently amazing, the service is not. We dare not go near the restaurant during happy hour (although they provide a complimentary chip/dips set up furring happ hour) or prime time on the weekends as service can be more hit and miss during those times. Great margaritas!

My wife and I went there last week. The place was not busy at supper time and now we know why. The hostess's were the only thing nice there. The waitress was nice but she had no clue of how to be a waitress. We were there for an hour and only got 1 drink. The eating utensils were dirty and I had to track down an employee to get clean one. The food was not good at all, they use canned refried beans and box rice. a 5 yr old can make that and call it authentic Mexican food. The table next to us keep getting their drink order screwed up by their waiter. Don't go there and waste your money.

So, I grew up in Texas, so it's not easy to find good Mexican food in this area, but I'd say this is as good as it gets, and it's pretty darn good! Fajitas are good, salsa is fresh and service is not to shabby.

Chips and salsa were above average but food was average at best. No draft beer and the restaurant is loud! We have been there once and that was enough. It's what you would expect from a chain.

Went to try Chuy's today. The atmosphere was great with lots of eclectic decorations. Chips never ran out and the salsa was delicious. Ask to try the jalapeño dip, it's free and tastes like a spiced ranch dip. Had it with chips and also put it on my fajita soft tacos. Lots of items on the menu left to try. Great meal, will most certainly return.

Not bad. The queso dip is good and chips are real good. The flautas are pleasant along with the staff. The decor is a bit over the top but I LOVE those tortilla ladies (yes, they are part of the decor). It would get a bit higher rating were it not for the lack of utensils offered just about every time I visit. Like they say on the border, "Utensils. We don't need no STINKING utensils."

The food is always good, absolutely love the chicken flauntas and the Mexican rice is awesome. Only draw back is the to go service is simply horrid. I've placed multiple orders at their restaurant and have never once gotten my order correct and has always taken at least 50 minutes to get, regardless of what time I get there.

Best fajitas! Great happy hour with free meat & cheese sauce with your chips to make nachos. Not crazy about the salsa. I've had better at local Mexican restaurants. It's still my favorite place to go.

This Texan is tickled pink for their arrival! Having gone to UT (that's The University of Texas to the uninitiated) though some years prior to the opening of Chuy's in Austin, I have been a fan since they opened about 25 yrs ago. The food is good, the atmosphere is a HOOT (Elvis is the patron saint), staff is extraordinary! For those who imbibe, their drinks are fresh (not from mixes), there is Texas beer (Shiner Bock) along with others. Chuy's is a welcomed addition to this area and I look forward to possible restaurant in Cincinnati itself!!!

Went here for the first time on 12/23/12. Lunch was good, fairly priced and good portions. The service was decent for the crowded atmosphere at lunch on a Saturday. I'll likely go back but not on my top restaurant choices for NKY.

Bad experience overall. Hostess sent me to a bar table since I was by myself. Sat there for 15 minutes with no service before some kid told me I could only order appetizers and drinks at that table...so I moved to the bar. Squeezed in to a bar stool between some fat people and ordered tortilla soup and fish tacos. Food took forever to come out, and was lukewarm when it arrived. Tortilla soup was the worst I've ever had....even the broth was wrong. Fish tacos were edible but far from enjoyable. This place is a waste of time and money, go somewhere else.

Wow. Solid place. The inside is transcending. Without knowing the history you can tell this place was a successful hole in the wall turned food chain. Great atmosphere. The people are genuine and very helpful. The food is great and the sauces as they say are "so good you have to know someone to get it". If you like mexican food but want something a little less bland. For the same price head to Chuy's and spice it up a little. Last but not least their trademark is the freshness of their food. Salsa made daily from never frozen ingridients.

Average at best. The tortillas were good. No draft beer. Entrees had no flavor and even looked like a mess on the plate...poor service...not impressed and not returning.

I love this place! As far as chains go, this is probably my favorite. I am a huge fan of mexican and tex mex food, and they do it right. Service has been pleasant and quick and the decor is fun, definitely not what you would expect in Florence, KY! You can see them making tortillas fresh as you walk to your seat, always a good sign. I have had the chile rellenos, boom boom enchiladas and fajita chicken taco and all were delicious. There are two really fantastic things about this place, there is a nacho car in the bar area, yes a car hood filled with nachos and salsa available for self serve all the time. During happy hour the nacho car goes into overdrive and there is fresh queso available. So good. They also have the creamy jalepeno, a delicious combination of cream, ranch seasoning and jalepenos. It's not overly pricy but it is overly delicious and great to dip chips in or pour over anything on your plate. The best part is that it's free! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu and would be doing yourself a disservice by not going here if you are a fan of tex-mex. The fresh tortillas, salsas and sauces really set this place apart. Also, if you bring a framed photo of your dog to the bar they will give you a free appetizer, awesome!

This was definitely not my favorite Mexican or Tex-Mex place. The service was average and the food was mediocre. It was all very spicy, although I ordered things intentionally that were supposed to be less spicy, since I am well aware that spicy food is not my favorite. I would go back if it were a group outing, but it wouldn't be my first choice, were that choice mine to make.

When I feel home sick , I come here for some tex mex food. Nothing makes me feel like I'm in Texas even if it is for a little bit. Best time to come is during happy hour from 4 to 7. Drink specials are great. They have the nacho car that includes chips, salsa, meat, queso and beans all the ingredients to make some mean nachos! The best part is that it's FREE. When your here make sure you try the ranch jalapeno dip super good! This place has a great patio which I love! Nothing beats great happy hour deals, great drinks and some nachos than on the patio!

Who would have thought that I would find a Chuy's all the way in Kentucky. Not too far from the hotel and it helps to ease the Tex-Mex withdrawal symptoms that I feel when I leave Texas. Great fajitas, just like in Texas.

Yum! If you LOVE Tex-Mex this is the place! I used to frequent Chuy's in downtown Houston for years, and just last week we relocated to Walton from Southern California & driving down the road what do I see but my beloved CHUY'S! We've been twice this week already! The Queso is on point, creamy, flavorful & delicious. Their in-house fresh & hot tortilla chips go perfectly with their yummy salsa. During happy hour you can even have that and retried beans to your hearts desire! Today our very friendly server let us know about the Chuy-Vice, a sugary piña colada style alcoholic drink. Mmmm tasted like an adult slushy! We shared that & the Chuy-changa, chicken chimichanga served with refried beans and rice. We shared the entree and dug into the free happy hour salsa bar out of their Cadillac trunk! (You just have to see it!) YUM YUM YUM. Great staff, EXCELLENT food, run don't walk to this delicious eatery! We WILL be back!!!!

What out for a Saturday dinner with the family. Went around 6 o'clock it was busy but we didn't have any wait whatsoever. We got our drinks immediately which was nice along with chips and salsa. The hatch green chili was the best. My wife and I both got the super burrito really good, Full of flavor and a large portion. Our kids ordered off the kids menu and the food really was bland. Next time we'll just have to order off of the large menu. Host did a good job, our waitress Beth was on top of her game and nice. Always enjoy the flavor of the restaurant. Three stars only because of the kids food other than that pleasant experience.

After hearing good things about here I decided to try it with a few others. To begin we were not seated but told by the host to simply pick a spot. Then the chips and salsa were beyond salty to where you could not even eat them. The waitress brought us more that were better, but it was a terrible way to start the meal. After ordering our food it came as ordered and hot, but was mediocre at best. Clearly the tortillas are made fresh but the food had very little taste overall. When the bill came we realized that normal things like extra sour cream were charged extra such as a dollar for one dollop. When leaving we asked for to-go cups (since we paid for refills) but were told they were out. It was a fitting end to a lackluster meal. Overall, the service was excellent with a very attentive waitress but the food left much to be desired and was over priced. I will not be returning.

If you know sign language, this is a good option. Otherwise, drink too much and shout like the rest of the patrons. This place is for tourons. Very cheesy and not special in any menu category. On the good side: food portions are respectable and pricing is competitive. The wait staff is sometimes short but their attitudes are good! I can only surmise they have good managers.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
