Easily the best and most authentic Irish pub in the Cincinnati area. Great atmosphere, good pub grub and knowledgeable bar staff who know the proper way to draw a pint. The traditional Celtic music is outstanding, and it's a great place to watch European football matches and Irish sports. As for food, I particularly recommend the smoked salmon appetizer - ask for extra soda bread. The beer cheese and pretzels are also good, and the messy curry fries. The potato leek soup is perfect for a cool fall day. The entrees are classic pub grub - Irish breakfast, bangers and mash, shepherd's pie, curry chicken - all very good. Guys, I have been on a quest to find great buffalo chicken wings since I moved to Cincinnati and I finally found them at Molly Malone's! If you're looking for bar food that is affordable and with great service, this place is where it's at! Now, back to those chicken wings...I moved here recently from North East PA, land of chicken wings and pizza. Since moving to Cincy, I haven't found anywhere that serves a decent buffalo chicken wing (other than the obvious B-Dubs). But we stumbled upon Molly Malone's in Covington and these wings got the stamp of approval from my very discerning wing-connoisseur of a fiance! The chicken wings were plump and juicy, and fried fresh. The mild buffalo sauce was buttery and not too spicy, but full of flavor. Definitely a win-win! We followed that up with french fries, and they were awesome as well! I consider myself to be a french fry junkie, and they're thick steak fries really hit the mark. I got a salad because I'm trying to be healthy....But I will admit I stole a few of my fiance's fries and maybe a wing as well. Bonus: They have an outdoor patio that is dog friendly! Service outside was very good, despite the fact that we were their only outdoor table on the patio. And they brought a water bowl for our dog. Second Bonus: FREE shuttle from Molly Malone's to the GABP when the Reds play! Yep, that's right, you can get cheap parking in Covington, grab lunch at Molly Malone's, then get a free ride to see the Reds. That's a good deal! The food was nothing new/exciting, but they are doing bar food right. I will be coming back for more!

This was by far the worst experience I've had in this bar/restaurant in all the years I've been going there. I walked into a packed house because of the Women's World Cup, so I grabbed a seat at the bar and waited for my husband. The bar tenders were all busy but I was waiting on the other half of my party, so no bigs, I'll wait. Finally the tall, thin, older bloke with the Irish accent asks what he can get us. We didn't know yet so I just asked for menus since we knew we would be eating. They have around 20 beers on tap right now, most of which you cannot tell what the actual beer is by looking at/reading the tap. So, I asked for a beer list. To which I get "We don't have one." Ok...can you tell me what the beers are on tap all the way across the bar at least? To which I get a muttered "I don't have time, get up and look for yourself" as he walked away. Walked away. Did not come back. His co-worker finally asked us what we wanted and we ordered with him. This guy was nice and attentive, which is the ONLY reason this review is for more than one star. We both ordered the Harvest Salad. It was just ok. There was a lot of fat on the steak and a lot of wilted greens in the bowl, but the flavors were on point and we were starving by this point. I would not have left a tip at all had it not been for the second bar tender who was nice to us. There is absolutely no excuse for this type of treatment. None. My only SIN was wanting to give them my money. Ridiculous. This will be the last time we go there for a while and I will never sit at the bar again. I've said it once, I'll say it again, there are too many people in this game for competitors to not be on point with quality food, booze, service, and atmosphere.

What a nice pub on a corner in Covington. We went for a pregame brunch before the Reds vs Indians game (go Tribe). There are a plethora of beers from which to choose to suit anyone's palate. I had a pilsner to go with my order of hot chicken wings. I was very dissapointed in the wings, they barely registered 10 scoville units. Got a pregame Bloody Mary that had more kick, it was goooood. Took the green shuttle van to the game which was driven by Raisin. He is knowledgable about the area if you are new and want to know anything. Raisin was waiting for us after the game to shuttle us back to the pub and our car.

I attended the Wanderlust: Wanderlearn presentation on Australia and New Zealand on the 3rd floor of Molly Malone's and it was packed, standing room only. Great to see a local pub featuring local startup promoting world travel in our area. I enjoyed a Killkenny, which was surprised to find in the area, I enjoyed on a trip to Ireland in 2012. I visited Molly Malone's pub when meeting some friends out. I do not have experience with eating any of the food, but now that I've seen some of these pictures, I obviously need to try some of it. As far as the environment goes, I would call this a typical bar, it had live music tonight we visited, and was very loud. I really could not hear anything that my friends were saying, and I find it frustrating to try and visit. However, when I think about visiting a bark this is my typical experience. As for cleanliness, it was up to par...much cleaner than my small-town college-bars from way back when. The service was fine, nothing to write home about, it was quick, and they seem to have a vast selection of beers and drinks. Bottom line, maybe I'm not a bar-person, as I tried to be very conversational when I'm going out, but I would say that Molly Malone's is a safe bet if the "bar atmosphere" is what you're looking for.

The food is actually pretty decent and I totally dig the Premier decor, but this place has to have the most uncomfortable bar stools in the tri-state area and possibly the world. I've been here twice for lunch and ended up standing by the end of my meal just because the bar stools were that uncomfortable. The bar gets 4 stars, the stools get 1.

Awesome experience! My son and I stopped here on a rainy day after King's Island looking to watch the MLS game. Lindsey, donned her superwoman cape, changed the big screen to the game and rattled off the list of specials and recommendations for me and my son. He ordered the Pulled Pork and got the Reuben (which Lindsey got made with cole slaw instead of sauerkraut), both with sweet potato fries. Both sandwiches ROCKED. My son said it was the best pork sandwhich he has had. The fries (dusted in cinnamon) were outstanding. The beer list was varied and sizable. I nursed one Kilkenny Irish Creme over the course of the match (i was driving) and was perfect. Cannot say enough about a great pub in a pretty cool looking town. Wonderful find!

Pretty decent place for watching football matches(the beautiful version). There is always a great crowd for USMNT games so be sure to wear your rwb. The food is pretty good for Irish pub food. I really like the curry chips. I also recommend the pizza. I know, pizza at an Irish place? But seriously, the pizza is good. And come for the beer. The beer! Fantastic selection though they may need to clear the lines a bit more often as there is an off taste on occasion.

This is a great place to watch sporting events (my friends and I went for the World Cup). However, do yourself a favor and get there before the game starts. Otherwise the tables will all be occupied... and you'll lose out on happy hour (the biggest tragedy). They have plenty of beers to chose from to keep you, uh, "occupied and enjoying yourself" for the duration of the game, regardless of how it's going. The food is so so. I had a steak salad that was just average. Don't come here if you're looking for gourmet cuisine, just if you're in the mood to watch a game and kick one (or two, or three, or... you get the picture) back with friends.

Love it here! We live nearly 2 hours from Molly Malones but make the trip for dinner her every couple of months. The Irish Spring rolls are to die for! We get them every visit and fight over them. Futbol/Soccer fans know this gem as Cincinnati's Team USA watch party. Every Team USA match no matter what time of the day or night are shown here. During World Cup Qualifying there were many times when the games were not available on tv because of weird broadcasting rights. BUT without fail Molly Malone's had the game. They always have drink specials when big matches are on and for Bengals games. If you are a soccer fan this is the place to be especially for the World Cup coming up. There is an outdoor patio which is really nice because they have a dedicated TV facing out the window and speakers located outside. On my first stop before heading to Cincinnati, I pulled into Covington for some grub and a brew. Covington embodies such an old town feel and sitting right in the middle of town is a true classic Irish bar. Upon entering the sturdy oak doors into Molly's, I had me quickly come to the realization, that I was staying a while. Magner's cider on tap and an assortment of other great beers served by wonderful, engaging well kept bartenders that made you feel as a regular. With a hot Shepherds Pie and a perfectly poured Guinness served up in minutes, I dug into this Irish classic with gusto and enjoyed every last bite, it was one of the best I have ever had. As an outsider to the state and the location, with such a great staff and the warm comforts of a bar we all know somewhere close to home, its easy to feel right at home at Molly Malone's

In terms of the bar, you definitely get that local feel while having all the space to bring in a fun crowd for the night if you plan on staying and having a fun time. 10 of us met to discuss the previous years meetings of Social Pint Network. I ordered the biscuits & gravy. The biscuits were way too hard for me. The sausage was mild and the gravy seemed homemade. I wouldn't order it again. But our other 9 friends had food they were very happy with, so I would go back and try their breakfast another time, ordering something other than the biscuits and gravy. We sat in the non-smoking area which was sectioned off for 15 people and was a great space to talk in, since its separated from the other areas. The server was excellent and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Parking is not too bad since the meters are free on Saturday & Sunday.

Nice service, good beer, decent food (if the food were better it would get 5 stars) We went to Molly Malone's three times in two days while in Covington for a friend's wedding. Our first experience was lunch on Friday -- we wandered in hungry, without any expectations. I had the fish tacos, which were fine, but not very flavorful; I was pleasantly surprised by the hint of black pepper on the tortilla chops, but not exactly blown away. Likewise, none of my companions were either impressed or appalled by the food, but we all nodded in approval at the beer selection, and felt extremely welcome and comfortable with the laid-back atmosphere -- so when the rehearsal dinner ended, almost the entire groom's side joined us for a reprise on the patio. This obviously left a good impression -- when the wedding ended and the hotel bar kicked us out (before midnight! Lame!) we all (including the bride and groom) braved the pouring rain and wound up at (you guessed it!) Molly Malone's. Even though we were a brood of sopping-wet, foul-mouthed miscreants, we were treated like family -- making the already amazing wedding day even better. I would certainly recommend this place as a friendly, casual hang-out spot -- good for happy hours, chatting with friends, watching a game, or having a low-key gathering.

I've been to the MM in Louisville multiple times back when I lived there and loved it, so I was excited to find out that this is their sister location. I really didn't notice the smoke here. My visit was a quick stop during a running pub crawl. I didn't get to have any food but the fish & chips smelled and looked incredible. I found out they're half price on Tuesdays so now that's on the must list. We went exploring and found another 2 levels upstairs. The second floor seemed game room-y and had more booths, and the third floor had a birthday party going on so I didn't get to see what was up there. There's a really cool mural on the wall in the staircase that's worth checking out.

I went there and wanted to meet Molly - I heard she was hot! Okay - I have no idea who Molly is but it was a fun bar. The girls I was with both ate and enjoyed their food. I was on a Guinness and Jameson diet. We were pre-gaming for the Celtic Fest on Fountain Square and it was a good place to pre-game / hang-out. I will definitely go back (especially now I see 4 or 5 bars in walking distance). A unique part of Covington that looks fun. Food: The girls had Potato and Leek soup, with a Chicken Alfredo Pizza. (Wood fire pizza). Soup was $5 / Pizza (Large) was $14 I believe Drinks: The girls had Snakebites (Harps / Strongbow) while I had Jameson and Guiness. Came here for dinner and really really liked the shepherd's pie. We got a few curious looks from the table next to us as they wanted to know what looked so good! Yes, try the shepherds pie - it's as good as the one I've had in Ireland, really! In terms of the atmosphere, we came here around 6h30 on a weekday night, were seated immediately and in a smokefree area. The waiters were friendly, the service was quick. Will definitely be back in the winter for more warm food! My husband has been a few times to the quiz nights too, which are really good fun apparently!

Like real authentic Irish drinking. You've come to the right place, laddie. This wood bar has everything you could want. Multiple floors of drinking, Guinness on tap, soccer on the TV, Irish flags flying high. It's a spot for drinking and living the life, it 'tis. The servers are very friendly and work quickly. I love that. There is no lollygagging around at this bar. You order a drink and they're on it, coming back to you as soon as it's possible for them to do it. That is a win. I've had a few different meals here and they've been OK. I don't really come here for the food. What I really love are their potatoes. Fried or side, I've never has a bad potato at this spot. Seriously. If you can order a meal that is or has to do with potatoes, I would get it here. Parking can be annoying since its all street in the middle of busy Covington. You can usually find something but it might take you a time or two around the block. Just a friendly warning. It's also Kentucky so you will deal with smoke in the bar. Not a real problem in the summer because they have a beautiful patio, but in the winter is can be mighty harsh. I hear it gets wild on the weekend and it's not everyone's scene. Oh well. I've only gone for a pint after work and it's been very nice. Very nice indeed.

It was my first visit to Molly Mallone's on a rainy Thursday evening. This place is really cozy and they had live music playing, service was great, just wish the food was better. I ordered the Drunken Chicken Sandwich and the bottom bun was completely soggy so I just ate the chicken with a knife and fork. The chicken was tough and full of fat and gristle...not a pleasant dining experience. I also ordered a side of the mac and cheese which was creamy but lacked flavor. My other dining companions ordered a Chicken Caesar salad and a hamburger, neither being very impressed. My recommendation: enjoy the live music and the drinks!

My visit to this place capped off a nice little vacation of drinking I had last fall. That little "vacation" was not so memorable, but this place was. Me and 3 other friends went down there to watch the USA Women's Gold Medal Game(loss) versus Japan and we got there bright and early, before mostly anyone else. The bartender, Pascal, was a friendly Irish guy who makes you feel like you have been old friends who just haven't seen each other in a while. He made my experience all the more better. We were all feeling the effects of the night before, so a heavy, hearty, greasy breakfast was on our mind. This place has some great offerings for that. I got a bowl of eggs, potatoes, sausage, and other things covered in a milk gravy; just what the doctor ordered. I washed it down with a Guinness and enjoyed the atmosphere as it began to fill up. You need to go here for a big soccer game, i.e. ManU vs Man City or a World Cup game. It gets packed, it gets crazy, and it gets fun. I had a frickin blast there.

The Molly's in Louisville isn't my favorite (though fun for a night of dancing), but I enjoyed this one. It was much more chill in comparison, a little less fratty, and the commonality at all the Molly Malones I've explored are the solid food and great beers on tap. Gotta love an Irish pub! We had some chicken ranch pizza - yummy - and they had Carlsberg on tap which totally made my night. Huge, beautiful wrap around bar and great cozy booths perfect for having pints with friends.

This is a nice Irish themed restaurant and bar. The decor is gorgeous! I've only ever been for lunch, so I'm not sure what the night life is like, but they do offer free shuttles to reds games. You'll have no problem getting seated at lunch (even with a very large group). I recommend the soup and sandwich special or the fish and chips! Its a nice place to hang out while watching a soccer game, but I would drive out of my way to do this. Three stars because besides being locally owned and having cool decor, there isn't much that sets this restaurant apart from others.

Molly Malone's has contributed to the strangest bar/pub experience of my life. I'd just moved to the area and heard from a friend that there was a themed 80s night at a pub I've yet to try. We arrived and I got the feel of an Irish pub almost immediately. I love pubs, having lived in Boston for 5 years and experiencing the best of the best there. Molly Malone's has everything I look for: dark wood, a large bar, fish & chips, and Guinness on tap for cheap. Molly Malone's has three floors to it, which is pretty great and definitely utilizes vertical space to overcome the lack of square footage on the streets of Covington. The 2nd floor (which I've been to for a private party since this first visit) has a pool table, a good amount of seating, and a small bar. The 3rd floor, which was where the 80s Night was being held, is larger and more like a club. You wouldn't think you're in an Irish pub once you enter the 3rd floor. The weirdness factor smacked me in the face when my ear full of awesome 80s hits was completely overshadowed by the soft-core porn on the jumbo projector screen by the dance floor. Say, what?? Ya know, I'm fine with seeing that kind of thing, but it was really really REALLY strange being amongst a bunch of drunk people wearing 80s gear and watching two girls shower. I'll come back to Molly Malone's if I'm ever in the area and crave fish & chips with a pint of Guinness... but I won't go to the 3rd floor ever again!

Molly's is a relaxed place stop, with an Irish theme and a nice tap list. Normally, I am not a big fan of TV's in bars, but here is seems to work. You will love this place if you are a soccer fan, lots of opportunities to catch a game from Europe. It is a nice change of pace and far better than your average, lame suburban sports bar. Definitely a nice stop for the craft beer fan. Molly's has good service, clean tap lines, and a even their own authentic Irish bartender...whose name escapes me right now. Make sure to tell him you are the Duke and want a discount (even if you are not). He is hilarious & this is a running joke with he and Molly's patrons. I made my first trip to Molly Malone's last night and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. I went for dinner and drinks with a friend before we hit up the nearby Madison Theater for a concert. Our dinner (a burger for her, and their chicken, ham and brie sandwich for me) was delicious, and I adored their steak fries. I liked them a little too much, I think. The service was fantastic, and the pour on my Guinness was properly done, not botched like at most bars. (Hint: if you get the Guinness at the same time as your other non-Guinness beers, it's probably not been poured right.) I liked the ambiance of the interior (we stayed on the first floor, although I hear there are others). It's always hard to do "authentic" Irish pub without being over-the-top cheesy, and Molly Malone's makes one of the best attempts at this of anywhere I've been in Cincinnati. Bottom line: I liked it. I'll be back.

One of my favorite pubs in the City. This place has it down to a science. I've been going here since I was in grade school...I has always been so good. The atmosphere is awesome! I love the rustic decor and the bartenders and servers are great...the customers that frequent this establishment are great too. You can always make great conversation with anyone there..A true welcoming-Irish pub...I just love this place! We came here for drinks as part of Cincy Beer Week. They had Founders' Russian Imperial Stout, Breakfast Stout and Canadian Breakfast stout on tap so the bar was packed. Our group wanted a table but everything was full and no one was moving. I was impressed that despite the crowd, we were able to place food orders with passing servers and the food came out quickly. The fries, club sandwich and fried pickles were all pretty tasty for standard bar fare. I kept burning my mouth on the fried pickles because I couldn't wait for them to cool down. I highly recommend them. And I highly recommend letting them get closer to room temperature. I wouldn't say that there is anything special about Molly Malone's. It's probably a great place to watch a soccer game. I also wouldn't mind going back if friends were going.

It's almost not fair for me to write a review of Molly Malone's because I love it so much. I moved to Covington a year ago, and this instantly became my go-to spot in the area. The staff learned my name right away and became my friends. It's always cozy and is one of those places I can sit and hang out all day instead of just run in for a beer and get out. Now to the food. The delicious, delicious food. I've been to Ireland, and I never had a real Irish meal anywhere else until Molly's. It's very authentic, and everything is always fresh. They change the menu every once in a while as well, so you can always find something new to try. The beer is amazing as well. They have a huge selection on tap as well as bottled beer. You can get anything from traditional Irish selections to the seasonal brews. The staff is always great at recommending something new for you to try based on what you like. On the weekends it can get a little crowded, but not as bad as most places. There are three floors, so if one is too much, go up and you might find something more your scene. They have specials and events going on throughout the week, so check the site or give them a call to find out what's happening. My favorite special is the 5 for $5 buckets on Thursdays and half-price wings during the Reds games. They also do happy hour during the week with half-price apps and discounted drinks. Ask for Alayna or Jessica and you'll have the best service and a couple of new friends by the end of the night!

I have to be honest, the only time I really go here is on St. Patrick's day, so this review is going to be heavily influenced by the festivities, and the fact that I've never really been there sober; That having been said, on St. Patrick's day at least, this place is awesome. They have a decent beer selection, and all of the wood gives it a very homey feel. They have a stage upstairs and one outside on the patio for live music. Other than that, the only thing I really remember is a guy dance-spinning out of the crowd, grabbing my crotch and yelling whooo! and then spinning back into the crowd during a Micheal Jackson song. I didn't really know what to think, so I deducted a star for that.

Molly Malone's is A-OK. It's not my favorite place to go, but I keep going back. I've never eaten there, but the bar is fun at night and it's always crowded. The absolute best thing about this place - the karaoke. My pals and I are karaoke afficianados and this is where we prefer to go. The guy who runs it has a great song selection - especially if you're into musical theater. And if you're lucky - the guy will turn on special lights, smoke machine, and/or bubble machine to enhance your performance! ha! It's usually not difficult to get several songs in - and tips always seem to speed up your place in line. Molly Malone's has a decent bar with fair service - sometimes its painfully slow. But there are 3 floors to choose from so there's always options. The parking is pretty horrible especially if you're coming by on a Friday or Saturday night - but it's a fairly safe neighborhood to park and walk a few blocks.

Pretty solid Irish Pub. The husband enjoys having a place to watch soccer games, and the beer. I've only been here for appetizers and happy hour, and the prices are decent. The curry fries are really delicious, and the food I've tried is definitely pub-food, but on the better quality side. The patio area is nice, although you might feel like you're almost on the street. I am always a sucker for British accents, and as it happens, whenever I go to Molly Malone's, I tend to hear one. A favorite among British ex-pats, Molly Malones is that old reliable sweater you pull out on gameday. Maybe not the prettiest, and maybe not the height of fashion, but you know it's comfortable and will keep you warm. Great microbrews flow from the tap and the menu is more than pub food. Many offerings are served with Anglo-Saxon swagger, including the Curry Chips, Guinness Chili and the Irish Breakfast - all hearty ways to heal a hangover or celebrate your favorite football team (the "Yank" version, or the rest of the world's!). If the smoke gets in your eyes and makes you cry, just head outside and enjoy the lovely, shaded patio seating.

Ugh, yes, I know it's a chain. Yes, I know it's another place that profits off of the stereotypes of my ancestors. Yes, I know that some nights nothing but a bunch of d-bags go there and wreck the joint. But sometimes, you just need a place to party. There's not much I can say about Molly's that hasn't already been said. Sure, they go the extra mile to be as "authentic" as they can, but you still can't get over the notion that everything seems terribly forced. The atmosphere is usually pretty fun, and the staff is very cool. I can't say I've ever had a "bad" time there. In fact, a lot of times you can have some decent conversations with the staff and make some new friends when it's slower. However, Molly's becomes party central some nights of the week. Be prepared for 1) cover (a sin if you ask me) 2) no space to move or talk 3) total, total dbags all up in your face. So when you can, go when it's slower, you'll probably have a decent time and it won't cost you too much. You do pay a bit of a premium since they're serving mostly imported beer, but that's part of the point, right? Erin go bragh!

Molly Malone's has kept the same Dublin milieu as previous tenets, Jack Quinn's, the new restaurant didn't keep retain the same flair for fare. Overall, my recent dining experience was sub-par. We started out with Irish Spring Rolls--deep-fried egg-rolls filled with cabbage, corned beef and carrots served with stone ground mustard and vinegary sauce. They were pretty decent, but I knew I'd made the wrong choice when the waitress brought out pretzels and beer cheese to the table next to us. The doughy delights were absolutely enormous and looked scrumptious. For our entrees we ordered fish and chips (of course!) and chicken and veggie pot pie. My boyfriend's fish and chips were a passable Irish dish (though sort of generic), I left most of my pot pie for the bus boy. Topped with puff pastry, the chicken and veggie pot pie was filled with chunks of chicken breast, but was also mushy and bland. My 16 month old son loved it, probably because it was the consistency of baby-food. Their alcohol menu is extensive and cosmopolitan, with loads of imported beers, Irish whiskeys, single malt Scotches, and small batch Bourbons. I think I'd enjoy Molly Mallone's if I were just going for a drink and some appetizers; otherwise I'd rather eat at The Pub at Crestview Hills.

Had some time to kill on Friday evening since we got out of work early and my ride wouldn't be there for another hour and half. A lager-top would do the trick, and I didn't figure the pub would be crazy busy until later, so I sidled up to the bar and noticed NEWLY UPHOLSTERED STOOLS!!! What a difference something simple like that makes in this place! The bartender was nice, he made a good lager-top, and left me to read my book in peace. I had another. Read some more, the place filled up with happy folks--don't know if it was the two pints in an hour, or what, but the revelry reminded me of the days that I really enjoyed myself at this place, years ago. That was encouraging and I might make it a regular jaunt for a Friday night pint.

If you're a soccer fan, Molly Malone's is probably one of the better places to go to enjoy a good game with other American soccer hooligans. However, pay very very close attention to their menus, drinks, and specials. Molly Malone's is very shady in how they run things to get you to spend more than you think you are spending. I'm just going to Yelp about a recent experience I had. It was the Sunday of the 2011 Women World Cup Finals. Our group had camped out in a booth on the first floor to ensure a good viewing spot for the game. The Reds were playing so we were thoroughly entertained until the soccer match started. We had ordered lunch (stay away from the burgers, they are a bit on the overcooked and dry side) and a few drinks. I look over at the Weekly Specials Board and read the specials for Sunday. Which looked *something to the extent of this (but definitely in this grouping): SUNDAY Karaoke 9p to 1a Cherry/Grape Bombs $2 Domestic Buckets $10 So we decided to order a bucket of beer. And another. And another. By now the soccer match was in full swing. We tried to order another bucket but our server said that the buckets for $10 were only available during Reds games. Although we did not see this advertised anywhere, we didn't think anything of it. With a couple beers left in our last bucket, we decided to get a couple cherry bomb shots, which were brought out to us. Fast forward to the end of the game (which was disappointing) and us cashing out. I noticed that the bill said $14 for 2 cherry bomb shots. I immediately called over the server and told her they should have been $2 each. She then told us that the cherry/grape bomb shots are $2 only between 9p and 1a. I tried to dispute that there wasn't anything indicating the time frame for when the shots were on special. If one were to read the weekly sign, wouldn't it be fair to assume that it read: on sunday, we have karoake between 9 and 1 and we also have shots and bucket specials all day. Otherwise, shouldn't it look like this? SUNDAY Karaoke 9p to 1a Cherry/Grape Bombs $2 (during Karaoke) Domestic Buckets $10 (during Reds games) So I asked to speak with her manager, some cockney Irish guy, and he refused to take off the $8 from the $100+. Furthermore, as I was trying to explain the situation, he cut me off and told me I didn't have to yell. I don't know where he was, but I didn't know if he didn't notice that we had all just been watching a soccer game that we lost. I could barely hear myself. In the end he just walked away, I said that you can't walk away because we are having a conversation. Then he said "I'm done having this conversation with you". The server then tried to defend him by saying "I'm sorry, he's just Irish." At any rate, like I said, we had been there for over 4-5 hours. We spent over $100 on food and drinks. I don't think reducing the check by $8 would have been a big deal, but I guess that's how they choose to make their money, by tricking customers into something that isn't. The server was going to give me $8 out of her tip, but I absolutely refused to take her tip money. I tipped her 20% from the total of the check. I did appreciate the server (I wish I remembered her name), however, I really think that manager should go. Irish, American, whatever. It really isn't any excuse. Like I said, I do like going there to watch soccer games, but seriously, pay attention to what they advertise, because it might be a scam to get you to spend more money.

I yelped this place while staying at the Embassy in Covington. It is only a couple blocks away so myself and a couple friends tried it out. We didn't get a whole lot of exposure to the entertainment because there was a private party upstairs and the bands didn't start till later. But the main dining area itself was cool and clean. The food is decent but nothing to write home about. Of course pub food isn't supposed to be served at the white house. It is to help absorb all the beverages that are thrown at you while there:) I would have loved a band to liven things up with some Irish Rover's covers.......but overall not a bad place if you want pub grub.

Molly's is one of the few decent pub experiences in Northern Kentucky and is the place to go if you're looking for something outside of the cookie cutter "Mcpubs" like The Pub and Gladdagh. It's got three floors, cool crowd, and a bartender with an Irish accent. Works for me. Music isn't half bad either when they have it. The three floors really de-congest the place so you can move around/talk while at the same time be around a good amount of people. Price can be a factor, especially if you want to drink like an Irishman. Six bucks for a Guiness and 6.50 for a shot of Jameson. An Irish car bomb will round out to almost 13-14 bucks. Still I think the little extra is worth it for drinking in a place with a personality instead of an Irish themed Applebees.

Bangers and Mash! I got my fill, no kidding, some of the best in town. This dish happens to be a sought out favorite for myself and Molly's dish is fresh and delicious. What makes this Irish tradition so tasty? It has to be the thoughtful purchase of fresh products from the local market. Also a fan of supporting our local Nati economy - Molly Malone's purchases some of their classic ingredients from Findlay Market and the flavor shows through. I have to admit though, the fantastic flavors don't stop at Bangers and Mash but continue through the great pub pretzel, beer cheese dips and even the curried chicken! But enough about the food, they also are home to one of the best hard ciders (according to my buds), Bourbon Ale and the BEST Guinness pour in town! Also housing this years World Cup Soccer Tournament - their are NO choices! It's my one stop soccer haven for the weekend!

i've been a longtime customer of Molly Malone's Irish Pub. it's by far, the best Irish Pub in the tri-state area (yeah, size does NOT matter). the food is always fresh and they keep the irish favorites and switch around the rest of the menu keeping things "fresh" in terms of seasonal variety. the 2nd floor has the pool table and dartboards - great place to hold a private party. the 3rd floor is awesome for presentations (projector/large screen) and all floors have bathrooms and the elevator to take everyone or equipment to the floor you need. my fav - "Magners" hard cider....yum!

I grabbed a quick meal here before going to a show at the Madison and it was exactly what I was looking for--speedy, convenient, and hearty. There's not much to say about the character of this place, as it's rather large and lacks a certain intimacy. But it's efficient and, when I went, not crowded at all. I think I probably prefer the Molly Malone's in Oakley, which is a bit crustier and a bit more local-feeling. But the food was solid and I'm sure I'll happily eat here again when I'm heading out for the evening in Covington.

Molly Malone's is a great Irish pub in Covington, KY. They always have a great selection of imports on draught, as well as a selection of domestics. They have domestic beer specials during the week too. I haven't eaten there yet, because I'm usually there with my drinkin' boots on. However, from the looks of it the menu seems decent. There are multiple bars, the big one on the main floor, and I think two more upstairs. It's a great place to go with friends as long as you don't go on a night that a fraternity has rented out one of the top floors..

My goodness, where do I begin? If you're looking to an authentic pub then this is as close as you're going to get! Everything here is made of heavy, durrable wood which only adds to the atmosphere. There are TVs all around the bar, most of which are showing soccer or the local teams. The food here is outstanding. So far I have tried the hot brown, fish and chips and salmon omlete, all of which were delicious. The beer is cold and the wait staff is friendly. Everything is very relaxed. Later in the evening, sit outside and enjoy the passersby or join the Brits-living-local in cheering for the soccer game. You can't lose here; I love it!

There had to have been a reason we went here, because none of us knew where it was. Fortunately it's very noticeable on 5th St. As soon as three of us shouted and pointed, we were pretty optimistic based on its comfortably dignified facade. The inside matched, what with its high wooden tables and old timey photos. The smoky aura affirmed its pubby status. And they have some good beers on tap - Sierra Nevada, Bluegrass Brewing Bourbon Barrel Stout. Good prices, too, and specials on even the good stuff. Let us not forget the assortment of Scotches and Bourbons (though, after sampling several of them, forgetting is easy to do.) The bartenders were quite amiable in letting me sample a couple of different spirits before selecting one to drink fully, but I don't think they just offer this up front (I asked), and certainly not on a more crowded night. But as it was, we sat on our stools, toasted a few pints, and didn't want to leave our Irish getaway for the night.

Molly Malone's is an eclectic three-story bar and restaurant that can provide any number of experiences. On the first floor is a regular bar and restaurant where the standard Irish fare is served. On the second floor, Molly's hosts all kinds of events, from rehearsal dinners to any kind of party. I think they may even sometimes use it for more seating if no event is scheduled. The third floor has a full service bar in the back and a stage in the front. Any night of the week Molly's could be hosting local or national acts up on the third floor. It's a great place for live music and a great use of all the space they have. If you try any one thing on the menu, get the pretzels and cheese, they blow Hoffbrahaus' out of the water.

the food is pretty good, above average pub food. they have plenty of good beers, but come out a little on the expensive side. shows have been popping up recently on a fairly regular basis, which is awesome. the place feels like a true pub inside, and has some nice streetside seating outside but the best part about molly malone's is that it is THE place in cincinnati to catch a soccer match. they open early on saturday and sunday during the season and true supporters of many teams turn out and give each other a bit of stick depending on the most recent results. a GM or someone who runs molly's is definitely a fan themselves and even had some free appetizers out for the recent champions league final, which were delicious and much appreciated.

Ok, we were happy to see that something had opened in this building. We went on a weekend evening and seated ourselves at a table. No server ever came by. We looked around and it seemed like others were having a similar problem. Finally, a slightly larger group got the attention of a server. Easily the best and most authentic Irish pub in the Cincinnati area. Great atmosphere, good pub grub and knowledgeable bar staff who know the proper way to draw a pint. The traditional Celtic music is outstanding, and it's a great place to watch European football matches and Irish sports. As for food, I particularly recommend the smoked salmon appetizer - ask for extra soda bread. The beer cheese and pretzels are also good, and the messy curry fries. The potato leek soup is perfect for a cool fall day. The entrees are classic pub grub - Irish breakfast, bangers and mash, shepherd's pie, curry chicken - all very good. Guys, I have been on a quest to find great buffalo chicken wings since I moved to Cincinnati and I finally found them at Molly Malone's! If you're looking for bar food that is affordable and with great service, this place is where it's at! Now, back to those chicken wings...I moved here recently from North East PA, land of chicken wings and pizza. Since moving to Cincy, I haven't found anywhere that serves a decent buffalo chicken wing (other than the obvious B-Dubs). But we stumbled upon Molly Malone's in Covington and these wings got the stamp of approval from my very discerning wing-connoisseur of a fiance! The chicken wings were plump and juicy, and fried fresh. The mild buffalo sauce was buttery and not too spicy, but full of flavor. Definitely a win-win! We followed that up with french fries, and they were awesome as well! I consider myself to be a french fry junkie, and they're thick steak fries really hit the mark. I got a salad because I'm trying to be healthy....But I will admit I stole a few of my fiance's fries and maybe a wing as well. Bonus: They have an outdoor patio that is dog friendly! Service outside was very good, despite the fact that we were their only outdoor table on the patio. And they brought a water bowl for our dog. Second Bonus: FREE shuttle from Molly Malone's to the GABP when the Reds play! Yep, that's right, you can get cheap parking in Covington, grab lunch at Molly Malone's, then get a free ride to see the Reds. That's a good deal! The food was nothing new/exciting, but they are doing bar food right. I will be coming back for more!

This was by far the worst experience I've had in this bar/restaurant in all the years I've been going there. I walked into a packed house because of the Women's World Cup, so I grabbed a seat at the bar and waited for my husband. The bar tenders were all busy but I was waiting on the other half of my party, so no bigs, I'll wait. Finally the tall, thin, older bloke with the Irish accent asks what he can get us. We didn't know yet so I just asked for menus since we knew we would be eating. They have around 20 beers on tap right now, most of which you cannot tell what the actual beer is by looking at/reading the tap. So, I asked for a beer list. To which I get "We don't have one." Ok...can you tell me what the beers are on tap all the way across the bar at least? To which I get a muttered "I don't have time, get up and look for yourself" as he walked away. Walked away. Did not come back. His co-worker finally asked us what we wanted and we ordered with him. This guy was nice and attentive, which is the ONLY reason this review is for more than one star. We both ordered the Harvest Salad. It was just ok. There was a lot of fat on the steak and a lot of wilted greens in the bowl, but the flavors were on point and we were starving by this point. I would not have left a tip at all had it not been for the second bar tender who was nice to us. There is absolutely no excuse for this type of treatment. None. My only SIN was wanting to give them my money. Ridiculous. This will be the last time we go there for a while and I will never sit at the bar again. I've said it once, I'll say it again, there are too many people in this game for competitors to not be on point with quality food, booze, service, and atmosphere.

What a nice pub on a corner in Covington. We went for a pregame brunch before the Reds vs Indians game (go Tribe). There are a plethora of beers from which to choose to suit anyone's palate. I had a pilsner to go with my order of hot chicken wings. I was very dissapointed in the wings, they barely registered 10 scoville units. Got a pregame Bloody Mary that had more kick, it was goooood. Took the green shuttle van to the game which was driven by Raisin. He is knowledgable about the area if you are new and want to know anything. Raisin was waiting for us after the game to shuttle us back to the pub and our car.

I visited Molly Malone's pub when meeting some friends out. I do not have experience with eating any of the food, but now that I've seen some of these pictures, I obviously need to try some of it. As far as the environment goes, I would call this a typical bar, it had live music tonight we visited, and was very loud. I really could not hear anything that my friends were saying, and I find it frustrating to try and visit. However, when I think about visiting a bark this is my typical experience. As for cleanliness, it was up to par...much cleaner than my small-town college-bars from way back when. The service was fine, nothing to write home about, it was quick, and they seem to have a vast selection of beers and drinks. Bottom line, maybe I'm not a bar-person, as I tried to be very conversational when I'm going out, but I would say that Molly Malone's is a safe bet if the "bar atmosphere" is what you're looking for.

Awesome experience! My son and I stopped here on a rainy day after King's Island looking to watch the MLS game. Lindsey, donned her superwoman cape, changed the big screen to the game and rattled off the list of specials and recommendations for me and my son. He ordered the Pulled Pork and got the Reuben (which Lindsey got made with cole slaw instead of sauerkraut), both with sweet potato fries. Both sandwiches ROCKED. My son said it was the best pork sandwhich he has had. The fries (dusted in cinnamon) were outstanding. The beer list was varied and sizable. I nursed one Kilkenny Irish Creme over the course of the match (i was driving) and was perfect. Cannot say enough about a great pub in a pretty cool looking town. Wonderful find!

Pretty decent place for watching football matches(the beautiful version). There is always a great crowd for USMNT games so be sure to wear your rwb. The food is pretty good for Irish pub food. I really like the curry chips. I also recommend the pizza. I know, pizza at an Irish place? But seriously, the pizza is good. And come for the beer. The beer! Fantastic selection though they may need to clear the lines a bit more often as there is an off taste on occasion.

Good selection of beer on tap and bourbons. Lot's of TVs for watching sporting events. Didn't try any of the food but the menu looked like a standard Irish food/bar menu. Not a stand out place but definitively a good place to grab a bite and a drink if you live or work in the area.

This is a great place to watch sporting events (my friends and I went for the World Cup). However, do yourself a favor and get there before the game starts. Otherwise the tables will all be occupied... and you'll lose out on happy hour (the biggest tragedy). They have plenty of beers to chose from to keep you, uh, "occupied and enjoying yourself" for the duration of the game, regardless of how it's going. The food is so so. I had a steak salad that was just average. Don't come here if you're looking for gourmet cuisine, just if you're in the mood to watch a game and kick one (or two, or three, or... you get the picture) back with friends.

Love it here! We live nearly 2 hours from Molly Malones but make the trip for dinner her every couple of months. The Irish Spring rolls are to die for! We get them every visit and fight over them. Futbol/Soccer fans know this gem as Cincinnati's Team USA watch party. Every Team USA match no matter what time of the day or night are shown here. During World Cup Qualifying there were many times when the games were not available on tv because of weird broadcasting rights. BUT without fail Molly Malone's had the game. They always have drink specials when big matches are on and for Bengals games. If you are a soccer fan this is the place to be especially for the World Cup coming up. There is an outdoor patio which is really nice because they have a dedicated TV facing out the window and speakers located outside. In an area that's a bit too heavy on German culture & cuisine, I was delighted to find Molly Malone's in Covington, especially when the only real alternative for an Irish pub & restaurant in the area is the superficial sexism of the Tilted Kilt in nearby Florence. While the culture you'll find there is fake as what's filling the plaid bras of their bubbleheaded waitresses, Molly Malone's is the genuine article. Conveniently located in downtown Covington with a menu that transcends typical pub fare to offer some options influenced by the Emerald Isle, it's definitely worth a visit. I admit I've only been once so far - after driving by the place so many times, I decided to stop in for takeout & ordered their Legacy Burger (it comes with steak fries) & an Original Pizza (think a more artfully designed thin crust cheese & pepperoni pie). Both were first rate & I'll definitely be returning. I visited early on a Saturday afternoon during a snowstorm & the place was still packed (might have been a bit loud for my taste), but the service was fast & friendly & the décor was charming & not at all overbearing. An ideal place for families at a booth, or to sit at the bar & enjoy a properly poured pint with friends. Live music some nights, too.

On my first stop before heading to Cincinnati, I pulled into Covington for some grub and a brew. Covington embodies such an old town feel and sitting right in the middle of town is a true classic Irish bar. Upon entering the sturdy oak doors into Molly's, I had me quickly come to the realization, that I was staying a while. Magner's cider on tap and an assortment of other great beers served by wonderful, engaging well kept bartenders that made you feel as a regular. With a hot Shepherds Pie and a perfectly poured Guinness served up in minutes, I dug into this Irish classic with gusto and enjoyed every last bite, it was one of the best I have ever had. As an outsider to the state and the location, with such a great staff and the warm comforts of a bar we all know somewhere close to home, its easy to feel right at home at Molly Malone's

In terms of the bar, you definitely get that local feel while having all the space to bring in a fun crowd for the night if you plan on staying and having a fun time. They even bring in live music, on the weekends, so make sure you plan accordingly on whether you want a casual evening to watch the game or a rowdy night to live it up!

Have you ever been to an eating establishment by which you measured every other one you visited? A restaurant that left such an impression that every similar place you entered had a hard time measuring up? Such was the case with Molly Malone's in Covington, Kentucky. I have been to many pubs but I have not found one that measured up to Molly Malone's. The draft beer was outstanding! The appetizers and platters were the best I had ever tried in a pub. The atmosphere invited conversation and relaxation. The price was within reason. If ever I am back in Covington you can find me at Molly Malone's.

Highly recommend this place. Yes it can be super crowded (the secret is out on this place) but they make up for it with great food and drinks. The prices are reasonable too. Check their website for event listings as there is some form of entertainment every night, everything from Karaoke to bluegrass.

10 of us met to discuss the previous years meetings of Social Pint Network. I ordered the biscuits & gravy. The biscuits were way too hard for me. The sausage was mild and the gravy seemed homemade. I wouldn't order it again. But our other 9 friends had food they were very happy with, so I would go back and try their breakfast another time, ordering something other than the biscuits and gravy. We sat in the non-smoking area which was sectioned off for 15 people and was a great space to talk in, since its separated from the other areas. The server was excellent and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Parking is not too bad since the meters are free on Saturday & Sunday.

Nice service, good beer, decent food (if the food were better it would get 5 stars) We went to Molly Malone's three times in two days while in Covington for a friend's wedding. Our first experience was lunch on Friday -- we wandered in hungry, without any expectations. I had the fish tacos, which were fine, but not very flavorful; I was pleasantly surprised by the hint of black pepper on the tortilla chops, but not exactly blown away. Likewise, none of my companions were either impressed or appalled by the food, but we all nodded in approval at the beer selection, and felt extremely welcome and comfortable with the laid-back atmosphere -- so when the rehearsal dinner ended, almost the entire groom's side joined us for a reprise on the patio. This obviously left a good impression -- when the wedding ended and the hotel bar kicked us out (before midnight! Lame!) we all (including the bride and groom) braved the pouring rain and wound up at (you guessed it!) Molly Malone's. Even though we were a brood of sopping-wet, foul-mouthed miscreants, we were treated like family -- making the already amazing wedding day even better. I would certainly recommend this place as a friendly, casual hang-out spot -- good for happy hours, chatting with friends, watching a game, or having a low-key gathering.

I've been to the MM in Louisville multiple times back when I lived there and loved it, so I was excited to find out that this is their sister location. I really didn't notice the smoke here. My visit was a quick stop during a running pub crawl. I didn't get to have any food but the fish & chips smelled and looked incredible. I found out they're half price on Tuesdays so now that's on the must list. We went exploring and found another 2 levels upstairs. The second floor seemed game room-y and had more booths, and the third floor had a birthday party going on so I didn't get to see what was up there. There's a really cool mural on the wall in the staircase that's worth checking out.

I went there and wanted to meet Molly - I heard she was hot! Okay - I have no idea who Molly is but it was a fun bar. The girls I was with both ate and enjoyed their food. I was on a Guinness and Jameson diet. We were pre-gaming for the Celtic Fest on Fountain Square and it was a good place to pre-game / hang-out. I will definitely go back (especially now I see 4 or 5 bars in walking distance). A unique part of Covington that looks fun. Food: The girls had Potato and Leek soup, with a Chicken Alfredo Pizza. (Wood fire pizza). Soup was $5 / Pizza (Large) was $14 I believe Drinks: The girls had Snakebites (Harps / Strongbow) while I had Jameson and Guiness. The beers ran about $5 Parking - parking could be tight but I found a spot easily Atmonsphere - very cool / laid back (Pub Style) If you haven't been - go there and enjoy :-)

Came here for dinner and really really liked the shepherd's pie. We got a few curious looks from the table next to us as they wanted to know what looked so good! Yes, try the shepherds pie - it's as good as the one I've had in Ireland, really! In terms of the atmosphere, we came here around 6h30 on a weekday night, were seated immediately and in a smokefree area. The waiters were friendly, the service was quick. Will definitely be back in the winter for more warm food! My husband has been a few times to the quiz nights too, which are really good fun apparently!

Like real authentic Irish drinking. You've come to the right place, laddie. This wood bar has everything you could want. Multiple floors of drinking, Guinness on tap, soccer on the TV, Irish flags flying high. It's a spot for drinking and living the life, it 'tis. The servers are very friendly and work quickly. I love that. There is no lollygagging around at this bar. You order a drink and they're on it, coming back to you as soon as it's possible for them to do it. That is a win. I've had a few different meals here and they've been OK. I don't really come here for the food. What I really love are their potatoes. Fried or side, I've never has a bad potato at this spot. Seriously. If you can order a meal that is or has to do with potatoes, I would get it here. Parking can be annoying since its all street in the middle of busy Covington. You can usually find something but it might take you a time or two around the block. Just a friendly warning. It's also Kentucky so you will deal with smoke in the bar. Not a real problem in the summer because they have a beautiful patio, but in the winter is can be mighty harsh. I hear it gets wild on the weekend and it's not everyone's scene. Oh well. I've only gone for a pint after work and it's been very nice. Very nice indeed.

It was my first visit to Molly Mallone's on a rainy Thursday evening. This place is really cozy and they had live music playing, service was great, just wish the food was better. I ordered the Drunken Chicken Sandwich and the bottom bun was completely soggy so I just ate the chicken with a knife and fork. The chicken was tough and full of fat and gristle...not a pleasant dining experience. I also ordered a side of the mac and cheese which was creamy but lacked flavor. My other dining companions ordered a Chicken Caesar salad and a hamburger, neither being very impressed. My recommendation: enjoy the live music and the drinks!

My visit to this place capped off a nice little vacation of drinking I had last fall. That little "vacation" was not so memorable, but this place was. Me and 3 other friends went down there to watch the USA Women's Gold Medal Game(loss) versus Japan and we got there bright and early, before mostly anyone else. The bartender, Pascal, was a friendly Irish guy who makes you feel like you have been old friends who just haven't seen each other in a while. He made my experience all the more better. We were all feeling the effects of the night before, so a heavy, hearty, greasy breakfast was on our mind. This place has some great offerings for that. I got a bowl of eggs, potatoes, sausage, and other things covered in a milk gravy; just what the doctor ordered. I washed it down with a Guinness and enjoyed the atmosphere as it began to fill up. You need to go here for a big soccer game, i.e. ManU vs Man City or a World Cup game. It gets packed, it gets crazy, and it gets fun. I had a frickin blast there.

The Molly's in Louisville isn't my favorite (though fun for a night of dancing), but I enjoyed this one. It was much more chill in comparison, a little less fratty, and the commonality at all the Molly Malones I've explored are the solid food and great beers on tap. Gotta love an Irish pub! We had some chicken ranch pizza - yummy - and they had Carlsberg on tap which totally made my night. Huge, beautiful wrap around bar and great cozy booths perfect for having pints with friends.

This is a nice Irish themed restaurant and bar. The decor is gorgeous! I've only ever been for lunch, so I'm not sure what the night life is like, but they do offer free shuttles to reds games. You'll have no problem getting seated at lunch (even with a very large group). I recommend the soup and sandwich special or the fish and chips! Its a nice place to hang out while watching a soccer game, but I would drive out of my way to do this. Three stars because besides being locally owned and having cool decor, there isn't much that sets this restaurant apart from others.

Molly Malone's has contributed to the strangest bar/pub experience of my life. I'd just moved to the area and heard from a friend that there was a themed 80s night at a pub I've yet to try. We arrived and I got the feel of an Irish pub almost immediately. I love pubs, having lived in Boston for 5 years and experiencing the best of the best there. Molly Malone's has everything I look for: dark wood, a large bar, fish & chips, and Guinness on tap for cheap. Molly Malone's has three floors to it, which is pretty great and definitely utilizes vertical space to overcome the lack of square footage on the streets of Covington. The 2nd floor (which I've been to for a private party since this first visit) has a pool table, a good amount of seating, and a small bar. The 3rd floor, which was where the 80s Night was being held, is larger and more like a club. You wouldn't think you're in an Irish pub once you enter the 3rd floor. The weirdness factor smacked me in the face when my ear full of awesome 80s hits was completely overshadowed by the soft-core porn on the jumbo projector screen by the dance floor. Say, what?? Ya know, I'm fine with seeing that kind of thing, but it was really really REALLY strange being amongst a bunch of drunk people wearing 80s gear and watching two girls shower. I'll come back to Molly Malone's if I'm ever in the area and crave fish & chips with a pint of Guinness... but I won't go to the 3rd floor ever again!

Molly's is a relaxed place stop, with an Irish theme and a nice tap list. Normally, I am not a big fan of TV's in bars, but here is seems to work. You will love this place if you are a soccer fan, lots of opportunities to catch a game from Europe. It is a nice change of pace and far better than your average, lame suburban sports bar. Definitely a nice stop for the craft beer fan. Molly's has good service, clean tap lines, and a even their own authentic Irish bartender...whose name escapes me right now. Make sure to tell him you are the Duke and want a discount (even if you are not). He is hilarious & this is a running joke with he and Molly's patrons. Did I mentioned this place has great craft beer?

I made my first trip to Molly Malone's last night and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. I went for dinner and drinks with a friend before we hit up the nearby Madison Theater for a concert. Our dinner (a burger for her, and their chicken, ham and brie sandwich for me) was delicious, and I adored their steak fries. I liked them a little too much, I think. The service was fantastic, and the pour on my Guinness was properly done, not botched like at most bars. (Hint: if you get the Guinness at the same time as your other non-Guinness beers, it's probably not been poured right.) I liked the ambiance of the interior (we stayed on the first floor, although I hear there are others). It's always hard to do "authentic" Irish pub without being over-the-top cheesy, and Molly Malone's makes one of the best attempts at this of anywhere I've been in Cincinnati. Bottom line: I liked it. I'll be back.

I love the rustic decor and the bartenders and servers are great...the customers that frequent this establishment are great too. We came here for drinks as part of Cincy Beer Week. They had Founders' Russian Imperial Stout, Breakfast Stout and Canadian Breakfast stout on tap so the bar was packed. Our group wanted a table but everything was full and no one was moving. I was impressed that despite the crowd, we were able to place food orders with passing servers and the food came out quickly. The fries, club sandwich and fried pickles were all pretty tasty for standard bar fare. I kept burning my mouth on the fried pickles because I couldn't wait for them to cool down. I highly recommend them. And I highly recommend letting them get closer to room temperature. I wouldn't say that there is anything special about Molly Malone's. It's probably a great place to watch a soccer game. I also wouldn't mind going back if friends were going.

It's almost not fair for me to write a review of Molly Malone's because I love it so much. I moved to Covington a year ago, and this instantly became my go-to spot in the area. The staff learned my name right away and became my friends. It's always cozy and is one of those places I can sit and hang out all day instead of just run in for a beer and get out. Now to the food. The delicious, delicious food. I've been to Ireland, and I never had a real Irish meal anywhere else until Molly's. It's very authentic, and everything is always fresh. They change the menu every once in a while as well, so you can always find something new to try. The beer is amazing as well. They have a huge selection on tap as well as bottled beer. You can get anything from traditional Irish selections to the seasonal brews. The staff is always great at recommending something new for you to try based on what you like. On the weekends it can get a little crowded, but not as bad as most places. There are three floors, so if one is too much, go up and you might find something more your scene. They have specials and events going on throughout the week, so check the site or give them a call to find out what's happening. My favorite special is the 5 for $5 buckets on Thursdays and half-price wings during the Reds games. They also do happy hour during the week with half-price apps and discounted drinks. Ask for Alayna or Jessica and you'll have the best service and a couple of new friends by the end of the night!

I have to be honest, the only time I really go here is on St. Patrick's day, so this review is going to be heavily influenced by the festivities, and the fact that I've never really been there sober; That having been said, on St. Patrick's day at least, this place is awesome. They have a decent beer selection, and all of the wood gives it a very homey feel. They have a stage upstairs and one outside on the patio for live music. Other than that, the only thing I really remember is a guy dance-spinning out of the crowd, grabbing my crotch and yelling whooo! and then spinning back into the crowd during a Micheal Jackson song. I didn't really know what to think, so I deducted a star for that.

Molly Malone's is A-OK. It's not my favorite place to go, but I keep going back. I've never eaten there, but the bar is fun at night and it's always crowded. The absolute best thing about this place - the karaoke. My pals and I are karaoke afficianados and this is where we prefer to go. The guy who runs it has a great song selection - especially if you're into musical theater. And if you're lucky - the guy will turn on special lights, smoke machine, and/or bubble machine to enhance your performance! ha! It's usually not difficult to get several songs in - and tips always seem to speed up your place in line. Molly Malone's has a decent bar with fair service - sometimes its painfully slow. But there are 3 floors to choose from so there's always options. The parking is pretty horrible especially if you're coming by on a Friday or Saturday night - but it's a fairly safe neighborhood to park and walk a few blocks.

I am always a sucker for British accents, and as it happens, whenever I go to Molly Malone's, I tend to hear one. A favorite among British ex-pats, Molly Malones is that old reliable sweater you pull out on gameday. Maybe not the prettiest, and maybe not the height of fashion, but you know it's comfortable and will keep you warm. Great microbrews flow from the tap and the menu is more than pub food. Many offerings are served with Anglo-Saxon swagger, including the Curry Chips, Guinness Chili and the Irish Breakfast - all hearty ways to heal a hangover or celebrate your favorite football team (the "Yank" version, or the rest of the world's!). If the smoke gets in your eyes and makes you cry, just head outside and enjoy the lovely, shaded patio seating.

Sure, they go the extra mile to be as "authentic" as they can, but you still can't get over the notion that everything seems terribly forced. The atmosphere is usually pretty fun, and the staff is very cool. I can't say I've ever had a "bad" time there. In fact, a lot of times you can have some decent conversations with the staff and make some new friends when it's slower. However, Molly's becomes party central some nights of the week. Be prepared for 1) cover (a sin if you ask me) 2) no space to move or talk 3) total, total dbags all up in your face. So when you can, go when it's slower, you'll probably have a decent time and it won't cost you too much. You do pay a bit of a premium since they're serving mostly imported beer, but that's part of the point, right? Erin go bragh!

Molly Malone's has kept the same Dublin milieu as previous tenets, Jack Quinn's, the new restaurant didn't keep retain the same flair for fare. Overall, my recent dining experience was sub-par. We started out with Irish Spring Rolls--deep-fried egg-rolls filled with cabbage, corned beef and carrots served with stone ground mustard and vinegary sauce. They were pretty decent, but I knew I'd made the wrong choice when the waitress brought out pretzels and beer cheese to the table next to us. The doughy delights were absolutely enormous and looked scrumptious. For our entrees we ordered fish and chips (of course!) and chicken and veggie pot pie. My boyfriend's fish and chips were a passable Irish dish (though sort of generic), I left most of my pot pie for the bus boy. Topped with puff pastry, the chicken and veggie pot pie was filled with chunks of chicken breast, but was also mushy and bland. My 16 month old son loved it, probably because it was the consistency of baby-food. Their alcohol menu is extensive and cosmopolitan, with loads of imported beers, Irish whiskeys, single malt Scotches, and small batch Bourbons. I think I'd enjoy Molly Mallone's if I were just going for a drink and some appetizers; otherwise I'd rather eat at The Pub at Crestview Hills.

Had some time to kill on Friday evening since we got out of work early and my ride wouldn't be there for another hour and half. A lager-top would do the trick, and I didn't figure the pub would be crazy busy until later, so I sidled up to the bar and noticed NEWLY UPHOLSTERED STOOLS!!! What a difference something simple like that makes in this place! The bartender was nice, he made a good lager-top, and left me to read my book in peace. I had another. Read some more, the place filled up with happy folks--don't know if it was the two pints in an hour, or what, but the revelry reminded me of the days that I really enjoyed myself at this place, years ago. That was encouraging and I might make it a regular jaunt for a Friday night pint.

If you're a soccer fan, Molly Malone's is probably one of the better places to go to enjoy a good game with other American soccer hooligans. However, pay very very close attention to their menus, drinks, and specials. Molly Malone's is very shady in how they run things to get you to spend more than you think you are spending. I'm just going to Yelp about a recent experience I had. It was the Sunday of the 2011 Women World Cup Finals. Our group had camped out in a booth on the first floor to ensure a good viewing spot for the game. The Reds were playing so we were thoroughly entertained until the soccer match started. We had ordered lunch (stay away from the burgers, they are a bit on the overcooked and dry side) and a few drinks. I look over at the Weekly Specials Board and read the specials for Sunday. Which looked *something to the extent of this (but definitely in this grouping): SUNDAY Karaoke 9p to 1a Cherry/Grape Bombs $2 Domestic Buckets $10 So we decided to order a bucket of beer. And another. And another. By now the soccer match was in full swing. We tried to order another bucket but our server said that the buckets for $10 were only available during Reds games. Although we did not see this advertised anywhere, we didn't think anything of it. With a couple beers left in our last bucket, we decided to get a couple cherry bomb shots, which were brought out to us. Fast forward to the end of the game (which was disappointing) and us cashing out. I noticed that the bill said $14 for 2 cherry bomb shots. I immediately called over the server and told her they should have been $2 each. She then told us that the cherry/grape bomb shots are $2 only between 9p and 1a. I tried to dispute that there wasn't anything indicating the time frame for when the shots were on special. If one were to read the weekly sign, wouldn't it be fair to assume that it read: on sunday, we have karoake between 9 and 1 and we also have shots and bucket specials all day. Otherwise, shouldn't it look like this? SUNDAY Karaoke 9p to 1a Cherry/Grape Bombs $2 (during Karaoke) Domestic Buckets $10 (during Reds games) So I asked to speak with her manager, some cockney Irish guy, and he refused to take off the $8 from the $100+. Furthermore, as I was trying to explain the situation, he cut me off and told me I didn't have to yell. I don't know where he was, but I didn't know if he didn't notice that we had all just been watching a soccer game that we lost. I could barely hear myself. In the end he just walked away, I said that you can't walk away because we are having a conversation. Then he said "I'm done having this conversation with you". The server then tried to defend him by saying "I'm sorry, he's just Irish." At any rate, like I said, we had been there for over 4-5 hours. We spent over $100 on food and drinks. I don't think reducing the check by $8 would have been a big deal, but I guess that's how they choose to make their money, by tricking customers into something that isn't. The server was going to give me $8 out of her tip, but I absolutely refused to take her tip money. I tipped her 20% from the total of the check. I did appreciate the server (I wish I remembered her name), however, I really think that manager should go. Irish, American, whatever. It really isn't any excuse. Like I said, I do like going there to watch soccer games, but seriously, pay attention to what they advertise, because it might be a scam to get you to spend more money.

I yelped this place while staying at the Embassy in Covington. It is only a couple blocks away so myself and a couple friends tried it out. We didn't get a whole lot of exposure to the entertainment because there was a private party upstairs and the bands didn't start till later. But the main dining area itself was cool and clean. The food is decent but nothing to write home about. Of course pub food isn't supposed to be served at the white house. It is to help absorb all the beverages that are thrown at you while there:) I would have loved a band to liven things up with some Irish Rover's covers.......but overall not a bad place if you want pub grub.

Molly's is one of the few decent pub experiences in Northern Kentucky and is the place to go if you're looking for something outside of the cookie cutter "Mcpubs" like The Pub and Gladdagh. It's got three floors, cool crowd, and a bartender with an Irish accent. Works for me. Music isn't half bad either when they have it. The three floors really de-congest the place so you can move around/talk while at the same time be around a good amount of people. Price can be a factor, especially if you want to drink like an Irishman. Six bucks for a Guiness and 6.50 for a shot of Jameson. An Irish car bomb will round out to almost 13-14 bucks. Still I think the little extra is worth it for drinking in a place with a personality instead of an Irish themed Applebees.

Love this place. Super-friendly staff and I love that they went smoke-free. I bring my kids in there and we always have a some great pub-grub. They have a fantastic beer selection as well. They recently changed the menu up and have some great new items. Excellent Irish Pub with friendly staff and a warm environment. Reminds me of a good pub in Ireland.

Bangers and Mash! I got my fill, no kidding, some of the best in town. This dish happens to be a sought out favorite for myself and Molly's dish is fresh and delicious. What makes this Irish tradition so tasty? It has to be the thoughtful purchase of fresh products from the local market. Also a fan of supporting our local Nati economy - Molly Malone's purchases some of their classic ingredients from Findlay Market and the flavor shows through. I have to admit though, the fantastic flavors don't stop at Bangers and Mash but continue through the great pub pretzel, beer cheese dips and even the curried chicken! But enough about the food, they also are home to one of the best hard ciders (according to my buds), Bourbon Ale and the BEST Guinness pour in town! Also housing this years World Cup Soccer Tournament - their are NO choices! It's my one stop soccer haven for the weekend!

This place was great! We went on Monday, bluegrass night, and had a blast. The server was friendly and knowledgable, and we were impressed with the beer selection. We ordered the house chips, fries with garlic sauce and cheese, and the house salad, with delicious pickled red onions and feta, and were very impressed with the quality.

i've been a longtime customer of Molly Malone's Irish Pub. it's by far, the best Irish Pub in the tri-state area (yeah, size does NOT matter). the food is always fresh and they keep the irish favorites and switch around the rest of the menu keeping things "fresh" in terms of seasonal variety. the 2nd floor has the pool table and dartboards - great place to hold a private party. the 3rd floor is awesome for presentations (projector/large screen) and all floors have bathrooms and the elevator to take everyone or equipment to the floor you need. my fav - "Magners" hard cider....yum!

I grabbed a quick meal here before going to a show at the Madison and it was exactly what I was looking for--speedy, convenient, and hearty. There's not much to say about the character of this place, as it's rather large and lacks a certain intimacy. But it's efficient and, when I went, not crowded at all. I think I probably prefer the Molly Malone's in Oakley, which is a bit crustier and a bit more local-feeling. But the food was solid and I'm sure I'll happily eat here again when I'm heading out for the evening in Covington.

Wow this place can get crowded! They have many beers on tap, lots of TVs playing soccer matches, and great acoustic music at night. They obviously have put together a pretty good mix of food, liquer, and media to attract the crowds. I personally have not found a personal food favorite. I guess I just need a few more visits ;-)

Molly Malone's is a great Irish pub in Covington, KY. They always have a great selection of imports on draught, as well as a selection of domestics. They have domestic beer specials during the week too. I haven't eaten there yet, because I'm usually there with my drinkin' boots on. However, from the looks of it the menu seems decent. There are multiple bars, the big one on the main floor, and I think two more upstairs. It's a great place to go with friends as long as you don't go on a night that a fraternity has rented out one of the top floors..

My goodness, where do I begin? If you're looking to an authentic pub then this is as close as you're going to get! Everything here is made of heavy, durrable wood which only adds to the atmosphere. There are TVs all around the bar, most of which are showing soccer or the local teams. The food here is outstanding. So far I have tried the hot brown, fish and chips and salmon omlete, all of which were delicious. The beer is cold and the wait staff is friendly. Everything is very relaxed. Later in the evening, sit outside and enjoy the passersby or join the Brits-living-local in cheering for the soccer game. You can't lose here; I love it!

The best Philly Cheese Steak sandwich I've ever eaten! Ate here twice on a short trip to Cincinnati, and received great service both times. The Fish and Chip are also fantastic!

Two blocks from my house just makes it more amazing! I typically have a wedge of lettuce and a glass of chardonnay, but the service is friendly, my dog gets excited just walking by the place. Love the people there and the comfort keeps me coming back.

There had to have been a reason we went here, because none of us knew where it was. Fortunately it's very noticeable on 5th St. As soon as three of us shouted and pointed, we were pretty optimistic based on its comfortably dignified facade. The inside matched, what with its high wooden tables and old timey photos. The smoky aura affirmed its pubby status. And they have some good beers on tap - Sierra Nevada, Bluegrass Brewing Bourbon Barrel Stout. Good prices, too, and specials on even the good stuff. Let us not forget the assortment of Scotches and Bourbons (though, after sampling several of them, forgetting is easy to do.) The bartenders were quite amiable in letting me sample a couple of different spirits before selecting one to drink fully, but I don't think they just offer this up front (I asked), and certainly not on a more crowded night. But as it was, we sat on our stools, toasted a few pints, and didn't want to leave our Irish getaway for the night.

Molly Malone's is an eclectic three-story bar and restaurant that can provide any number of experiences. On the first floor is a regular bar and restaurant where the standard Irish fare is served. On the second floor, Molly's hosts all kinds of events, from rehearsal dinners to any kind of party. I think they may even sometimes use it for more seating if no event is scheduled. The third floor has a full service bar in the back and a stage in the front. Any night of the week Molly's could be hosting local or national acts up on the third floor. It's a great place for live music and a great use of all the space they have. If you try any one thing on the menu, get the pretzels and cheese, they blow Hoffbrahaus' out of the water.

the food is pretty good, above average pub food. they have plenty of good beers, but come out a little on the expensive side. shows have been popping up recently on a fairly regular basis, which is awesome. the place feels like a true pub inside, and has some nice streetside seating outside but the best part about molly malone's is that it is THE place in cincinnati to catch a soccer match. they open early on saturday and sunday during the season and true supporters of many teams turn out and give each other a bit of stick depending on the most recent results. a GM or someone who runs molly's is definitely a fan themselves and even had some free appetizers out for the recent champions league final, which were delicious and much appreciated.

Ok, we were happy to see that something had opened in this building. We went on a weekend evening and seated ourselves at a table. No server ever came by. We looked around and it seemed like others were having a similar problem. Finally, a slightly larger group got the attention of a server. We, on the other hand, left after about 15 minutes and no service. We won't be back.
