    Excellent customer service, large portions which makes it worth the price, absolutely delicious. I would recommend this if you love Emperor's. Wok Hey's rice isn't quite as good, but everything is better!

    Not very good. The egg roll and crab rangoon were horrible, and the entree was mediocre at best. The service was very good however. If you want good Chinese food on the west side, I'd recommend Pei Wei over this place.

    It is hard to find great Chinese food here in Wichita. Wok Hey sets the tone for one of the top places to eat at in Wichita. The food is FRESH and tastes amazing. We did have to wait about 10 minutes to receive our food, but it is worth the wait. I would rather wait for freshly made food that tastes great , then have fast food that is cold and tastes horrible. We ordered the Generals TSO Chicken and Sesame Chicken with freshly made fried rice(AWESOME). Our food came out fresh and the ingredients were outstanding.The staff is friendly and I would give Wok Hey 5 stars for the taste and the fresh ingredients that they use. I would HIGHLY recommend Wok Hey if you like great Chinese food. My wife and family can't wait to go back.

    This will probably betray both my age and my popularity in high school, but I spent many an afternoon in 1998 playing Banjo-Kazooie on my Nintendo 64. It took the fantastic standard of 3D platforming set by Super Mario 64, and improved upon it in every way. In the Freezeezy Peak level, you have to beat Boggy Bear in a sled race. During the race, approximately every three seconds he would yell a valiant "WAHAY!" to show that, win or lose, everyone was having a good time. Consult your local library's UrbanDictionary for more information, or your neighborhood YouTube for 10-minute long looping samples to catch up on what my mind's been repeating every day for the past fifteen years. I doubt the owners of Wok Hey had Banjo-Kazooie in mind when settling on the name, but part of me would like to think they did. For as much as that video game re-defined its medium, Wok Hey is plenty happy to follow the same general formula of most Chinese takeout restaurants in Wichita: offer a variety of stir-fried meats, a little vegetation, and some sauce alongside a heap of rice with an eggroll and rangoon for surprisingly little cash. Authentic Chinese recipes, probably not, but it fills a niche. The Goo Lo Pork seems popular, though a quick Googling reveals Goo Lo Yuke to simply be a fancy name for Sweet and Sour Pork... except there's a separate menu item named "Sweet & Sour Pork," so I don't know what's going on. I can tell you that my Goo Lo Yuke was indeed a good bit sweet and a good bit sour, made a little more complex be me cranking the heat up to "extreme" (though it sounds scary, the dried tien tsin chiles never really get mouth-burningly hot - they included several whole chile pods, which I ate without issue). The pork was deep fried, creating a really crunchy exterior that not only persisted despite being covered in sauce, but maintained that texture for the 30 minutes it took me to drive home. I found the amount of breading heavy-handed, but kudos for at least keeping it true to form. A few slices of bell pepper and onion were found among the pile of pork. I don't understand why more Chinese takeout places don't play up the vegetable side of the equation more often - you would think it would be cheaper than the proteins. Fried rice was only barely fried and contained little more than a few bits of egg. Eggroll and cream cheese rangoon were as standard as you'd expect for being compulsory add-ons to a meal, but at least they weren't too greasy. My expectation was that I was able to get a pretty big pile of food for less than $8. That the food wasn't overly greasy and interesting enough for me to have to do some research on it was icing on the cake. I'm not going to drive to the west side every time I need takeout, but if you live around the 13th and Maize, it's a solid choice. At the very least Wok Hey can be sure that their name will always be close enough to my childhood memories to cause me to utter a joyous "WAHAY!" in recognition. Which is something, I guess. Fortune cookie: " :) You could prosper in the field of medical research :) "

    I have been to Wok Hey a countless amount of times since I discovered it over a year ago. You immediately recognize the freshness of the food from beginning to end. I really enjoy the different mixture of veggies from dish to dish, they compliment each other very well. I like my food extra extra spicy and they're always willing accommodate my request. They're very flexible about altering ingredients especially since everthing is made from scratch. The owners Lisa and Andy greet you with a smile on their faces everytime as if I were Norm walking into Cheers! Try the delicious wings with their homemade sauces, everything there is great. Trust me I've tried everything on the menu...

    Goo lo pork! Best sweet/sour dish in town. Always hot fresh and crunchy. Service is fast and friendly. Great place for a weekday meal.

    Yummy! Had the jalapeno chicken and the kung pao and both were wonderful! Crab rangoons were awesome! Definitely will go back! Generous portions as well!

    By far my favorite Chinese place to go. I used to work back behind this place at the vet clinic and I would smell their food every night while working and I'm so glad I decided to try it. Everyone I've taken there absolutely loves it. I recently moved out of state and have been desperately trying to find a place that makes Chinese food as good as they do at Wok Hey, but so far no luck. I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves or is craving Chinese food.

    Best take out Chinese in the city! It is always fresh and fantastic with so much flavor. I absolutely love the jalapeño chicken and the honey walnut chicken. Always great service, very clean, inexpensive, and absolutely delicious!

    We went in for take-out on a Saturday night. Food was hot and made to order. It took ~10 minutes to make our meals, which I didn't mind because I knew it was fresh. They had a typical selection of food choices. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken and based off another reviewer, I ordered without the onions. We also got an order of Chicken Lo Mein sans onions... The General Tso's Chicken was pretty good. Fried Rice was good, although didn't have any vegetables just egg. I am not a fan of egg roll/crab r. but my friend said those were "ok." You do get both of those with each combo meal which may be a plus for some people! On a side note, the Lo Mein had TONS of cabbage and I would definitely order without the cabbage next time. My food was good at the time, but had a little stomach discomfort less than a few hours later. On the fence on whether I would return or try somewhere else...

    I've been to Wok Hey about half a dozen times in the past couple months. The prices are reasonable, around $5.50-6 for lunch specials. The portions are large. Lunch meals come with crab rangoon and eggroll, and if you order it between I believe 12-4pm you get a free drink (I could be off on the hours as it might be 11-4, but I know it ends at 4pm). The vegetables are fresh, the portions are fairly large, and the prices are very reasonable. Wait times are usually very short. They do use a lot of onion in most of their entrees, though, which is something I don't like. The jalapeno chicken was good but it was probably 1/4 onion. They have a lot of fried entrees (breaded chicken or pork) which I tend to avoid. Overall it's pretty decent Chinese food and it's filling so I will be going back.

    I was very hungry and the place smelled great. I ordered Kung Pao Shrimp with Lo Mein. It was terrible. They cooked it to order, so it came out hot and fresh, however, the flavor was not good at all. The egg roll was not good either. I bit into a chunk of vegetable that I could not even bite through - in fact, when I took it out of my teeth, I was surprised it was a vegetable at all - the consistency was so tough. The cream cheese rangoon on the side was the best thing on the plate. I was really disappointed with the food. Pei Wei is by far the superior option, and it pains me to say that, as I love supporting local businesses.

    Wok Hey is amazing. According to my son "it tastes like awesome and the fried rice is delicious". Friendly people making fresh food, can't go wrong here. We've been here several times and it's always hot and fresh.
