Usually my husband and I frequent a restaurant in Park City, Kansas called Cancùn Mexican Grill. Today we decided to try out Tacos Raymundo. I am so glad we did. Upon arriving the restaurant looked slightly run down but it didn't matter. I remember when the place used to be a barber shop. It was still clean and inviting. The waitress brought chips and salsa. I can usually tell if my experience with the food is going to be good based on the salsa. The chips are homemade and rated so good. They are not too salty, not are they greasy tasting. The salsa is very flavorful. It didn't taste like canned tomatoes with some salt and spice. I ordered the two chimichunga meal. There were several different choices of meats. I chose steak. The tortillas are homemade, the meat is cooked beautifully and tasted so amazing. It was easy to chew and bursting with flavor. I recognized the seasoning right away as it is one I use at home often. Great cooks never share their best kept secrets so I will keep this secret. The The rice is authentic and so good. The only time I've ever eaten rice on that level it was cooked by a friend of mine who moved here from Mexico. The beans are authentic as well. They were pinto beans and mashed into chunks. I could taste the beans as well as each individual flavor that went into them. Again amazing. Over all I give the place a five star rating. The food is the star of the show and this show was a hit. We will be making Tacos Raymundo a regular thing and saving Cancùn Mexican Grill for Date night since their prices are a bit higher than Tacos Raymundo. The quality between the two is so very close.

Taco are always on point! The atmosphere is a little small so get there early. Wait time is decent.

Worst place ever! Waited in a dirty place to not get served. Went in with my girlfriend dad hauling horses out of state saw the 4 1/2 star rating and days let's go. He ate his entire plate I asked about my food they said five more min. Told them never mind paid for his plate 14 bucks for two cheese enchiladas and two sodas...

My first time in eating here, great little whole in the wall. Don't let the structure deceive you, the food is great. Truly authentic street tacos and burritos. TJ style!

Best authentic Mexican tacos here in Wichita. Great flavors and service. Sometimes the wait is a bit long, but I think it's worth the wait.

Had the beef cheek tacos. This place is real. The tacos, with soft corn tortillas were great. The salsa has big chunks of onion and peppers, served hot with fresh chips. You can get any number of things in a taco. Great place, I'll be back when I'm in town.

I like that they stay open late on weekends. The salsa they serve with chips is warm and is chunky with onions and jalapenos. They do have milder sauce for those who ask for it. The place was busy but the waitress was attentive. Food took a while (There were a few waiting on take out orders also). I ordered the Pancho Villa. It was huge! It had ground beef and pork chili verde. Boyfriend ordered the Hawaiian Torta. It was also huge. Both were tasty and over-filling. We took a burrito home for my son and the bill was only $24.00 for 3 people. I think that is super cheap for the amount of food.

Best enchiladas ever!! I was extremely pleased with this place. I haven't had mush else on the menu but it is all authentic. Highly recommend.

There are so many great and better-than-great Mexican restaurants to be found up in the 21st and Broadway area that I've considered actually rating them in relation to one another. But no, there are still the Carlos O'Kelly's, Playa Azuls, and Felipes in this city that you could go to any one of my five-star rated Mexican restaurants and still have your mind blown with some great Mexican food. Of course the building is a little small and run down, of course you have a couple of Raymundo's teenage kids working the grill and register (and working quite hard, too - there was one guy doing the register and waiting tables, and he was breaking a sweat trying to keep up). But all that matters is the food. Or at least tacos, anyway, because they're in the name of the place and that's all I get at these restaurants nowadays. Why bother with pleasantries? Chips, beans, rice? They all get in the way of what's important - delicious, slow-cooked meats double-wrapped in tortillas. It's been a little too long since my visit and I can't remember what I had aside from one menu item - the barbacoa, which was humorously listed on the menu as "beef cheeks" (a traditional piece of cow that's cooked for barbacoa). I think it's a tactic to scare off the gringos, but joke's on them - I am already well aware that beef cheeks are delicious, and the taco in which I ate them did nothing to sway my opinion otherwise. I don't think they're affiliated with the Tacos el Torito truck that's now parked at the corner of 21st and Broadway, but that truck is good, too. Is one better than the other? Who cares? Go to either (or both) and support Wichita's true Mexican restaurants.

Let's just say this place follows the saying. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. On the outside of this establishment, you probably would not come in because how small it is, and how un-flashy it looks. Once you walk in, you are in a intimate family like environment. It's very small, and has a home like feel which is very personable. Food is being cooked in front of you, the waitress is busy taking care of patrons and a police officer is conveniently watching the place. Note that my visit took place at 2am in the morning. Once the waitress took care of the people in front of us, she asked what we wanted to drink and to sit wherever we wanted. We choose a booth. Next to us was a long table filled with friendly, loud mexicans laughing drunkenly, enjoying each others company and eating some great food. The menu is fairly large and has a lot to choose from. I came here just for the tacos and ordered the steak tacos, and some friends ordered some chicken and pork tacos. Our waitress was quick to get our drinks and order and the wait was a bit long. Fortunately we had some salsa and chips at our disposal. There were already a huge group of people ahead of us, so we waited a good 30 minutes before our food showed up. As soon as the food showed up, we knew straight ahead that we got the real authentic made tacos. The food was plated well and had some of the side toppings on the side. There were some sauteed onions, a lime for you to squeeze and cilantro. The meat was already prepared on a 2 layer home made soft tortilla. Once I topped everything and bit into it, it was taco heaven. The meat was juicy and yet crispy on the edges. I ordered 3, and while they look small, they fill you up well. The overall experience was good and felt real. Not something you can get at your local fast food taco shop.

I like this place. Doesn't look like much from the outside, and a little tight on the inside but I find the decor interesting. Love all the little posters that cover the ceiling. The menu is quite extensive. I've only ordered the combination plate consisting of taco, tostada, enchilada with beans and rice, but it was fresh, tasty, and the portions are big! I noticed other people eating humongous burritos that looked yummy. On another visit I saw a cook preparing the chiles rellenos and they were huge, so I wanna try those next. My only problem with this place is that it can be painfully slow to get your food. I don't know if it's just one cook preparing one order at a time. As far as I'm concerned, that is all they need to improve on.

Awesome, authentic Mexican. I literally had flash backs of my time in South America while eating here. Beef cheek tacos are unreal and they have great horchata (rice milk) too. Ordered three tacos, then ordered three more. Fresh cilantro. Definitely not fancy, but the best, authentic places like this never are. Great place to eat while waiting for your turn at the DMV :)

Dropped in for a quick lunch with my hunny. The interior could use some polishing up but you got your standard colorful walls and Mexican paraphernalia on the wall. Oddly enough there are inspirational quotes posted on the wall which seem out of place but everyone needs something to get through the day I suppose. The staff was friendly and they indulged customers trying to speak Spanish which was cute. I got 4 tacos a la cart with steak, barbacoa, chicken and pork. The steak was decent, being finely chopped and well-crisped without being too dry but the flavor was just ok. The barbacoa was perhaps my favorite with a nice complex flavor with moist tender shredded meat . It must have involved some ancho chilis because it had a hint of sweet along with spicy. The only problem is that the it lacked volume, meaning it didn't smack your face with flavor but had to be slowly turned in your mouth and savored. I would probably pick Chipotle's barbacoa over this one but this wasn't bad by any means, just not the best. The chicken and pork were fairly forgettable, decently good but nothing outstanding. The salsa and chips in this place were OK as well. The salsa was basically a tomato sauce like many others restaurants but had decent flavor with no heat. I actually asked them if they had a spicy salsa and they brought out this warm medly of onions and green chiles in a molcajete (mexican mortar). It had one of the most interesting flavor profiles i've ever had and certainly did have some heat but I wasn't a fan. Overall this place was fine. They do a pretty good job with their meats and nothing is bad by any means but it isn't spectacular either. Their prices are average and the portions are fine as well. I wouldn't mind coming back if someone suggested it but I'll still be looking for a new go-to mexican joint.

Like tacos? These are wonderful! Tacos Raymundo makes petite delish' little tacos that are wonderful and authentic. If you are someone who thinks Felipes is tasty Mexican, better to skip Tacos Raymundo. If you know Tacoland, try some of these wonderful tacos.

Bland! The salsa is soupy & the worst I've ever tasted. I ordered the chicken burrito & it was not good at all. My husband & I did not enjoy the food & will never go back. The food was tasteless & nothing was even remotely spicy or flavorful!

I went to the Taco's Raymundo food truck located at 21st and Broadway. I have eaten her 2 Friday nights in a row. The first night was at 10 and it was packed with family's and bar goers stopping for a bite to eat. The second time was around 1:00 am and it was fairly quiet. While the menu on the truck is limited to mainly tacos and some other items , the food is amazing! I had the barbacoa and lengua tacos and the they were both really good. The Barbacoa was extremely tender and melted in my mouth. The lengua was the best I've had in town and was flavored well. The location that the truck has been in for the last 2 weeks was kind of scary with it being in a darkened parking lot, but don't let that scare you. The family that runs the truck are super helpful and super fun, also bilingual.

This is a little dainty joint you can find the BEST Mexican food ever. The exterior of the restaurant looks very sketchy...as if the property were abandoned. Once you step inside, the fragrance of the food automatically intoxicate your senses. The place has a good Mexican touch to it with lime green and neon orange painted walls and cute antique decor. Regardless of the setting...the food here is amazing! The ingredients are always fresh and the taste so authentic. I like their torta asada or chicken tostada. Also, I've tried warm salsa for the first time ever there...and must I say, it is delicious. Reasonable pricing...great place for after the clubs, or any time for that matter!

  • Chance S.

First, let's talk about the salsa. It was a little soupy, but the flavor was great and it was spicy. Seriously, it packs heat, so if you don't like spicy food then you are not going to like their salsa. I like my salsa chunky, but their "soupy" salsa is one of the best in town.... So that's saying something coming from me. I liked their tacos. Great authentic flavor, but they were small compared to other Mexican restaurants. Had the tacos been normal size, I would have given this place 5 stars.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque.
