Ventured out to T.O.P.S. after hearing from family how it was the "closest to an east coast sub" they'd found. I was not disappointed! Called in and ordered a carry out beforehand and it was ready to go when I got there. Staff was nice, and food was great and reasonably priced! Good sized servings too - I got the "Little Brother" and was only able to eat half of it. Only wish it was open later than 8pm on Saturdays. FYI - Fries were just added to the menu last week. Rejoice!

Have had this multiple times catered at work and their items are always a huge hit. Steak, chicken and hoagies have all been great. No misses yet.

The place looked and smelled clean and new. The location wasn't the best but the promise of yummy food was greater than any store location. We were greater by the two staff members and ordered were taken. It did seem to take a longer than normal time to have our orders. The staff didn't seemed bothered that we were STILL waiting for our food. Once the food arrived, it was actually really good. Go here, they are super affordable and delicious!

At their core, the Philadelphia cheesesteak and Chicago Italian beef are both a bunch of thinly-sliced top round shoved inside a chewy roll. Both products are also so highly regarded by their respective cities that to claim your product under these names opens you up to the protective snobs ready to shout it from the rooftops if this is not a "true" Philly cheesesteak. See, for example, every restaurant in Wichita that has served a cheesesteak up until this point. Just as the silly-named Big B's Beef entered the Wichita restaurant scene last year with Chicago natives that were so committed to authenticity that they imported products from the Windy City, the equally-silly-named T.O.P.S. has been opened by a Philadelphia native who imports his meat from the City of Brotherly Love. The results are strict adherence to the things that make a good cheesesteak - well-cooked slices of meat piled into a nice springy roll that has no problem standing up to the juiciness of the meat, the provolone, or the hot peppers. The only thing that would be better is if the place had something other than Lay's to serve as a side. Sandwiches aside, the rest of the scattershot lunch menu and the entirety of the breakfast menu seems a little out of place until you realize how little this neighborhood is serviced. Aside from the unfortunately-named "Yum Yum's Snack Shop" and the Sonic by WSU, there's no restaurants until you get to 21st and Woodlawn. Especially considering the retirement community that lives right next door, T.O.P.S. is as much a showcase for the cheesesteak as it is a place for people to just get something to eat. It's an all-around shrewd business decision for the owners. If only they could offer some proper side dishes and maybe the other sandwich that made Philadelphia famous - roast pork and broccoli rabe - they would indeed be T.O.P.S.

First off, I'm a Philadelphia native. This place has an authentic cheesesteak, one you would get at a regular spot in Philly. Not Pat's (I refuse to mention that other one across the street), not Tony Luke's, not Jim's Steaks, not quite Max's on Broad and Girard, but good. It's prepared simply, as it should be, with sautéd onions, sliced and chopped steak, and your choice of cheese. They import Amoroso rolls! No whiz :/ If you're from Philly/South Jersey this is a taste of home, as the name promises. Only giving 4/5 stars now because of the hours of service and limited menu. Like many of the drunken masses of Philly I'm used to being able to get a cheesesteak at 1am. As bars begin to close for the night long lines outside of the above mentioned restaurants are not uncommon. Hopefully business picks up so they can stay open later. Btw, hoagies are what we call subs/submarine sandwiches/grinders.

With Big B's Beef now being a distant memory that consisted of staring at a "For Lease" sign in their window as I drove by, I was forced to search for a replacement. And T.O.P.S. may just be it. The 12-inch hoagies were huge and delicious. Plenty of meat..and all the toppings you'd expect. The two six-inch halves are literally two meals. Unless you're a pig like me. The Philly cheesesteak was great too. But it's thinner than their hoagies. They're very good, but a little heavy on the stomach for me. They had a four chicken-wing special with two sides for $9.50. The two sides were greens and macaroni and cheese. $9.50 seemed a little steep for four wings, so I passed on the special. A lot of other people got the special dinner though. The wings looked huge and smelled good. But as I said, I'm a huge fan of their hoagies. I can take or leave the cheesesteaks. Oh yeah, if you don't get the special of the day. You should still try the macaroni and cheese. It's probably one of the best I've had in a long time. It's cheesy and spiced-up with just the right amount of black pepper.

I don't know about anyone else, but about once a month... my body needs a cheesesteak. Tried TOPS tonight on a whim and was more than impressed. I got a 12" Cheesesteak with peppers. From the first bite I couldn't put it down. Destroyed that sandwich in no time flat. If i had a complaint it would be that I will want this sandwich on a regular basis and will quickly become a much heavier man. Very nice staff. Great food. Best Cheesesteak I have had in Wichita. Hands down.
